I just finished reading The Dangerous Gift and I NEED to talk about her somewhere so badly.
She was so creepy and horrible. In Snowfall's vision, the way she thought "one little spell can't hurt" and then just did more and more and more until she thought it was okay was so horrible to read. I really think it proves that it isn't animus magic the slowly chips away your soul and makes you evil- it's your actions; how you use the magic. Reading her slow descent into abuse because she thought "one little spell can't hurt" was terrifying and saddening to read. The italics even made is creepier to read, imo. In the end Jerboa the first really got what she deserved. Enchanting your kid to make them perfect... situations like these make me genuinely happy that the real world does not have magic at all.
