Spotfur's Rebellion has been criticized for being too boring and unnecessary. It's essentially a repeat of what has happened to Spotfur in The Silent Thaw and Veil of Shadows except from her POV.
So, if you could change when this book took place (if you'd want to change it at all, unless you liked it), what time period would have been the best and most interesting read for Spotfur?
I myself would have picked to have this book written after Stemleaf's death, since it's hard to tell what Spotfur's thinking, other than the journey to find the Sisters she doesn't have any major roles to play, and would have been more interesting as a growth for her character on her own rather than her relationship with Stemleaf.

I agree, I'm pretty fine with the first three chapters since it did fill out some blanks but I think a book about her relationship with Stemleaf and her growth would've been much better, she deserves it.

I mean, Rebellion is even in the title and we know the plot against the impostor happened during TST and VoS. Maybe it could've been a little longer to maybe when Ashfur is actually overthrown, but I think the placement is fine overall. For it to start anywhere else would've required a title change. Spotfur's Loss or something if it covers the aftermath of Stemleaf's death?
