Adding onto this - Bumblestripe, Ivypool, and Squirrelflight. All three of them used to be one of my favorites, but I've grown to dislike them a lot a while back, mostly because of the fandom.
Bumblestripe: He's painted as an innocent, sweet cat to Dovewing even though it's been shown in the books that he bombarded her about kits when she made it clear that she didn't want any. And because of this, his fans say that the books "ruined him for Tigerheart's sake", but people forget that he's always been like this. Bumblestripe isn't anything like Ashfur by any means, but he's definitely inappropriate. I mean, asking to do it with your ex girlfriend just after someone died isn't really the best time for that.
Ivypool: She's alright. There's times when I respect her, but once the fandom excuses her for her terrible behavior, I'm done. It's no different compared to how the fandom treats Squirrelflight. Yes, she's worried about her sister, yes, she cares about her, and yes, I know Dovewing is stupid, but really? Getting involved into your sister's marriage isn't okay, no matter how you look at it. She even told her to be with Bumblestripe, even though they've broken up years ago, and when she stops talking to Dovewing completely, her fans say she's "putting her foot down". Dovewing was hurt by this, and didn't fully understand why her sister was avoiding her. So needless to say, the fandom annoyed me with this character. I'll never truly like her again. They'll excuse her for everything and say this is okay because Dovewing is stupid, which honestly pisses me off about her. I know it sounds like I hate Ivypool, and I don't; there's actually times when I do admire her for her loyalty and determination, but she's also very frustrating and had no right to get involved into her sister's relationship.
Squirrelflight is a similar case. But it's worse. Her fans will baby her and excuse her for the stuff she does wrong. She lied to Bramblestar about the Three, his own KITS THAT HE HELPED RAISE, and people defend this by saying she was trying to protect his status. I mean, if he lied with Squirrelflight, I am pretty sure Bramblestar would put his own FAMILY first before the cats judging him and accusing him of being a liar. This is also proven when he says that he's more upset about her not trusting him, and literally says that he'd have helped her if she told the truth. She also treats him like shit about Hawkfrost, and people say she's right about that too. So what if she is? It doesn't give her the excuse to avoid him, then act like the victim and wonder why he isn't talking to her and complains to Leafpool about it. Then her fans will say she's doing the right thing to protect the Sisters while she's being dishonest and sneaky. Well, her actions also caused damage between her and Bramblestar. Being dishonest and sneaky is a bad reputation for a deputy, even if she had good intentions. Leafstar didn't even WANT her help, and called her out for her behavior, which is really sad. She really didn't have the right to get her own clan involved into this mess. Good intentions or not, it doesn't excuse her behavior. Like someone said in another topic, even if she does have good intentions, the way how she handles it are questionable at best. Squirrelflight doesn't handle things the right way, but her fans will paint Bramblestar as a punk and claim she was right anyways. It's annoying, and it doesn't help that people also bring up personal issues when you debate and you can't even defend yourself because you'll just look bad if you defend Bramblestar too.
