I know that it'll be a while until this books comes out but I'm just a bit concerned with a certain other finale that was rather underwhelming when looking back.
The Last Hope only got to actual fighting in the later half which also lasted for barely more than a hundred pages:
Brambleclaw: "Will you fight beside me?" Squirrelflight: "... Always." —Squirrelflight to Brambleclaw The Last Hope, page 259
Bramblestar: "Will you be my deputy, Squirrelflight?" Squirrelflight: "Really?" Bramblestar: "There is no cat I trust more. Everything you do is for the best of reasons. I understand that now." Squirrelflight: "Then I accept." Leafpool: "My sister. You deserve this honor, and more. Thank you, for everything." Squirrelflight: "I would do it again in a heartbeat." Jayfeather: "An ending, and a beginning." —Squirrelflight chosen as deputy The Last Hope, pages 328-329
I'm probably making a big deal about this but there could have definitely been more suspense and tension, especially for Firestar's and Tigerstar's confrontation.

"lasted for barely more than a hundred pages"
How long do you want the fight scene to last? A 100 pages is an insanely long battle by any book's standards, I honestly can't think of any books that have more than 100 pages of fighting. As it was The Last Hope's battle did drag a little, and I think it's probably about the max length you could get without ending up with just a moshpit of battle that far outstays it's welcome.

Hmmm, I could see the whole battle stretching out over the span of the book only if it were formatted like a war book. Taking brief rests between waves, hiding away if the Clans are too overwhelmed, retreating if they're too injured, etc. I'm not sure if Warriors would have that kind of book written, though.

What I actually meant by this is that the whole fight was also hyped up like the one which is going to happen in this arcs finale, only for it to now be remembered as a somewhat disappointment where the ultimate scenes either dragged on during the thick of battle or were over far too quickly. The authors/editors could have shortened it a little or made the whole book have an overarching war plot instead of wasting time in the first half by having the characters solve other things, The Three were still looking for the fourth cat, both Lionblaze and Dovewing had some more love drama and Jayfeather had to reunite the other medicine cats, all this went on while the Dark Forest cats only now decided to explore the living Clans territories. I'm realizing that my wording was very misleading there, sorry about that.

It's hard to have that work in Warriors though simply due to the nature of their warfare. They don't have any proper land to defend except for hunting territory, which would be useless for dead cats to try to raid since they don't need to eat. They could try overkilling prey to starve the clans, but this would take forever and leave them open to being ambushed. The best tactic for the dead cats is to try to storm them in set piece battles unless they want to twiddle their thumbs the whole time just trying to poach prey. Moreover, the clans are far too small to sustain heavy losses, so their wars have to be short by their very nature. As such, their battles swing heavily between annihilation battles or low intensity skirmishes with very little in between

I just hope it's a massive bloody battle with a ton of deaths. Or at least the fear/impending doom factor is ramped up really high. It's been a while since I've felt really scared while reading a battle scene in a book and I hope ALitM does that.
