Coalpaw Coalpaw nodded and padded over to where Flamepelt was bathing. She dipped her head sat down. "I'm sorry that Thymestar died" she said in a small voice that was kind of rough from disuse.
Basilwhisker The new deputy looked at the cats around him. The three of them would make a plenty big enough hunting party. "You should probably stay on this side of the stream and close to camp so you don't run into the fox." He said taking the time to meet each of their eyes. He then looked at Brckentail "I'm going to have you lead. Take Snowdapple if you want an extra cat. She could use some practice after being in the nursery for so long."
Gazepaw Gazepaw nodded and went to lay down outside of the Medicine cat den. He didn't really feel like talking to anyone else and his sister were both leaving.
Spider Spider shook his pelt some more and then looked away from Snowy. "I'm okay. Thanks dor asking." He said and looked angerily qt Goose.

Flamepelt The ginger tom returned Coalpaw's nod and licked his paw, drawing it over his ear. "So am I." He replied, giving her a kind look. "He was a great leader. The whole clan will miss him." Brackentail Brackentail nodded to Basilwhisker. "Will do." He meowed, looking around. He spotted Snowdapple and padded up to her, dipping his head. "Basilwhisker wanted me to ask you if you wanted to go out with the hunting patrol." Cloudear Cloudear watched Gazepaw for a moment before padding over to Flamepelt and Coalpaw. "I've got some travelling herbs for us. Just give me a moment." She dipped into the medicine cat den, careful not to disturb Gazepaw, grabbing the herbs she had laid out earlier and carrying them to where the others were waiting. "These won't taste pleasant, but they'll help us on our journey." Snowy Snowy stared daggers at Goose for a moment before moving her attention to crossing the stream. She tentatively touched a paw to the water, easing herself in. She suppressed a shiver as she waded across to the other side. As she walked up on the other side, she shook, sending water droplets everywhere.

Coalpaw Coalpaw nodded her agreement to Flamepelt's statement. She had seen her leader do great things while he was alive. "I heard he lost one of his lives saving some loner kits from the river before I was born" she said. Then she dipped her hesd to Cloudear and took her portion of the herbs and swallowed them hard.
(This could just be a rumor.)
Wishpaw and Crowflight The two cats stood where Brackentail had left them next to Basilwhisker. They looked a little sad but they were ready to hunt.
Snowdapple The permanent queen looked up as Brackentail approached. She nodded when he asked if she wanted to join the patrol. "Sure. I haven't been hunting since the kits were born and they are apprentices now." She got to her paws from where she lay by the nursery. She got ready to follow the warrior to the entrance of camp.
Oak and Spider Oak followed after Red. She was worried about the fox being close despite the number of cats in the group. She paused and scented the air. "Are you sure we should get this close to it" she said quietly.
Spider hesitated to start moving again as he waited for Snowy to cross the stream. Je looked relieved when she made it across okay. He started moving forward again his pelt brushing lightly against hers.

Flamepelt Flamepelt sniffed the herbs for a moment before taking them in his mouth. He swallowed down the foul tasting concoction, letting out a small cough as he tried to get the taste out of his mouth. He turned back to Coalpaw. "I remember hearing that when I was an apprentice." He remarked. "I think Coldfang was the one who told me that." He trailed off for a moment, lost in thought. "That was moons ago, though. I'm surprised the elders are still telling that one." He turned to look at Cloudear, who quickly swallowed down her portion of the herbs. "I take it we're ready to go?" He asked the medicine cat. A sharp nod from her and Flamepelt headed towards the camp entrance. (okay!) Brackentail "Alright." Brackentail meowed. "We could always hunt over near the training clearing. There should be plenty of prey since no apprentices had battle training today." He looked around at the other cats. "Unless any of you have an idea." Red Red scowled as the Fox's scent grew stronger. At oak's question, the tom turned his head to look at the she-cat. "We have five cats against an already wounded fox." He stated, a slight note of irritation in his voice. "This thing should be running as soon as it sees us." Snowy Snowy quickly resumed following the group, now taking up the rear next to Spider. She felt her pelt lightly brush against Spider's. She debated spreading out, feeling like she was doing something she wasn't supposed to, but Spider didn't pull away so she didn't either.

Coalpaw The apprentice nodded at Flamepelt as he said he had heard the story too. She felt nervous being with just the leader and Medicine cat alone but she swallowed that feeling. As the two cats took off toward the entrance she followed taking up the rear.
Snowdapple, Crowflight and Wishpaw Snowdapple shook her head. "I think the training clearing sounds like a good place to hunt." She said as she stretched. She was a little pudgy from having kits and laying around doing very little most days.
Crowflight and Wishpaw both nodded their agreement and stood prepared to leave.
Oak and Spider Oak cringed at Red's retort but stayed silent. She still didn't think engaging with the fox full on was a brilliant idea. She continued to follow the second in command.
Spider walked side by side with Snowy their fur still brushing and thought nothing of it. He had walked this close to cats before and it had meant nothing. He followed the group and his pelt prickled at the scent of the fox.

Flamepelt Flamepelt took point as the group trotted through the trees. His paws ached a bit from the fight, but he didn't complain. Before long he could make out the outer fence of the Twolegplace, though they didn't leave the cover of the forest. He thought he saw a cat on the fence, but when he looked again, he saw nothing. "I remember we caught a kittypet in our territory a moon or two after my warrior ceremony." He reminisced. "That cat was so scared, I thought he was going to leap right out of his pelt." Brackentail Brackentail turned as the other cats prepared to leave. "Alright, we're headed out." He meowed to Basilwhisker with a nod. He headed towards the camp entrance and waited for the rest of the group. Red Red signaled the group to stop as he heard a rustling in a thick patch of undergrowth up ahead. "The fox must be in there." He hissed, dropping into a crouch. "Let's try to flank it and drive it out." Snowy Snowy stopped at Red's command, also dropping into a crouch. She looked at Spider for a moment, then focused on the situation. (We could have snowy or spider get a little hurt so when they run into Flamepelt and them, Cloudear has a reason to interact with them. Just an idea, though.)

Coalpaw Coalpaw smiled at the thought of a scared kittypet in their territory. She was sure the stories were scary when it came to the big bad cats in the woods. She laughed a little feeling calmer about the journey. "Do you remember his name or was he too scared to tell you?"
Basilwhisker Basilwhisker nodded and watched the hunting patrol leave the camp. He then setteled down near the camp entrance to watch over the clan.
Snowdapple, Crowflight, and Wishpaw Snowdapple looked around as she exited the camp. Unused to the sights and smells she looked overwhelmed for a moment until Wishpaw rubbed up against her. She let put a purr and broke off from the group chasing after a squirrel. She leaped and newrly missed it but got ahold of its tail with her claws. It tried to get away but she bit its neck and carried it back to the others.
Crowflight scented the air too. He wandered behind Brackentail feeling a little tired from traveling to the Warrior Oak and back. But he kept on going.
Wishpaw watched her mother chase down the squirrel and catch it. She bumped into her on her way back over to the group and touched her tail to her shoulders. She didn't smell any prey nesrby.
Oak and Spider Oak blinked a few times before following Red's lead to flank the fox. She started forward in a crouch ready to drive out the nasty creature.
Spider looked at Snowy who had gotten prepared to fight. He would drive out the creature for her and for his sister who it attacked earlier on. Je sighed and got ready to surpise attack the fox.
(Yeah Spider can get hurt. Then Snowy can fawn over him for being injured.)

Flamepelt "We didn't even have time to ask!" Flamepelt exclaimed, humor rich in his voice. "That kittypet bolted as soon as he saw us!" The ginger tom jumped over a log before continuing. "I remember I asked Thymestar if we should be worried if the kittypets were starting to venture out onto our territory. He said no, the kittypet we scared off will tell all the other kittypets of all the scary forest cats and we won't see another one for moons. Sure enough, he was right. Haven't seen one since." Brackentail Brackentail opened his mouth, tasting the air. He picked up the scent of a mouse, though it was weak. He crouched, following the scent trail until he could see it, nibbling on a seed near a root. He prowled forward, getting within pouncing range. Once he was, he jumped, claws outstretched. The mouse tried to flee, but Brackentail was faster. He pinned the mouse down and delivered a swift nip to the back of its neck, killing it instantly. He trotted back to the others, holding his catch in his jaws. Red Red pushed forward until he could see the fox. It's pelt was a bit ragged and it was slightly favoring its paw, likely due to the earlier fight. Red signaled with his tail for Goose to wrap around to the left while he began angling himself to the right. He looked around, making sure the rest of the cats were ready. Snowy Snowy followed the group, slowly creeping up on the fox. She remained in the middle with Oak and Spider, waiting to pounce on the wounded beast. (lol that's perfect.)

Coalpaw Coalpaw giggled as she followed. She thought up another question to ask the leader. "Have you ever battled a rouge? Those are the ones to be afraid of from what I've heard." She shuddered at the stories she had heard from the elders.
Crowflight, Wishpaw, and Snowdapple Crowflight took a weaving path behind the others. He stalked after a shrew and he missed it by a paw-length or so. He sighed snd kept going.
Wishpaw was stalking a robin. She watched as it pulled a worm from the ground. It struggled to get the worm from its place in the earth. She pounced and landed squarely on it. Carrying it back to the group she beamed with pride.
Snowdapple stood with her prey locked in her mouth. She dipped her head to Brackentail as if to say nice catch.
Oak and Spider Oak was psyching herself up when she felt Red's gaze. She immediately dropped into a crouch and crawled forward some ready to fight.
Spider watched the others get ready to fight and considered falling back until he felt Red look at him. He dropped into a crouch feeling wary about attacking the fox. He was sure someone would be injured.

Flamepelt "Oh, once or twice." Flamepelt meowed as the trio padded through the forest. "I'm sure Cloudear remembers the last time." He stated, looking over at the medicine cat with an amused expression clear on his face. "Oh, yes. I remember." She replied. "I must've gone through a dozen different herbs trying to heal that bite." "Well, I'm glad you did!" The ginger tom remarked. "If it weren't for you, I doubt I'd be here today." Brackentail Brackentail returned Snowdapple's nod before digging a small hole. He dropped his catch in, kicking some leaves over it to hide it. He tasted the air again, looking for another target. Red Once he was sure everyone was in place, Red signalled the attack. Charging forward, he let out a fearsome caterwaul. The fox whirled around, snarling. The tom leapt forward, clawing the fox across its already battered muzzle. Snowy Snowy charged forward too, though she was reluctant to jump right into the attack as Red did. Instead, she took a defensive position, aiming to strike only when she saw an opening. The Fox The fox turned at the sound of Red's caterwaul, snarling as it whipped around to face the new attackers. It went to take a step forward but stopped with a yelp as Red's claws raked across its muzzle.

Coalpaw The apprentice nodded. "I hope I never meet rogues. I like loners well enough as long as they off our territory but rogues are a different story." She felt like she was talking a lot more than she needed to and she worried she was being annoying. She quieted down and just followed along with the other two.
Snowdapple, Wishpaw, and Crowflight Snowdapple followed Brackentail's lead and buried her squirrel. She then started to scent the air again wandering away from the group a little. She scented a rabbit and a vole. She turned to go after the vole leaving the rabbit for a better trained cat to catch.
Wishpaw buried her robin next to Snowdapple's squirrel and followed her mother for a moment before breaking off to chase the rabbit. Her paws clipped the rabbit and tore a chunk of fur out of its backside she then caught up enough to kill it. She carried it back with its back feet touching the ground.
Crowflight was growing angry as he missed two more voles and a shrew. He was stalking a mouse and fought to keep his footsteps light. He pounced and finally caught his first peice of prey this patrol. He carried it back with his head held high.
Oak and Spider Oak ran at the side of the fox and raked her claws from one side of its flank to the other. She hissed and growled making noise all the while.
Spider ran up next to Red at the head of the fox. He stood up and battered the fox's face he scatched one of its eyes and boxed its ears.

Flamepelt Flamepelt let out a snort of amusement. "You might change your mind about that after your training's over." He glanced around, realizing they should be getting close to the Moon Mushrooms. "A little skirmish here and there can be a break from the repetitiveness of constant hunting and border patrols. You just have to be careful." Brackentail Brackentail picked up the scent of a sparrow, which was perched in a low hanging branch. The warrior slowly climbed up the trunk of the tree, careful not to make a sound. He climbed up onto a higher branch, moving as slow as possible so as to prevent the branch from swaying. He tensed his legs, prepared to pounce. With a leap, Brackentail launched himself off of the branch to where the sparrow sat. The sparrow tried to take off, wildly flapping its wings, but Brackentail was faster. He landed, pinning the bird to the branch, just barely maintaining his balance. He delivered a sharp bite to the neck, killing the bird instantly. He leapt down from the branch, the sparrow hanging loosely from his jaws. "This should be good." He sputtered around the bird, careful not to choke on its feathers. Red Red leapt back as the fox flailed, trying to injure the surrounding cats indiscriminately. He whipped around to the side, looking to direct the fox away from the stream and out of their territory. Snowy Snowy ducked as a blow from the fox flew ever her head, the wind from the swing ruffling her ears. She returned with a blow aimed at the fox's muzzle, but she missed, overextending herself. The Fox The fox realized it was outnumbered, flailing at the cats, trying to at least injure one of them to try and even the odds. It charged towards Spider, looking to jump at him. It leapt at him, its lips drawn back in a snarl.

Coalpaw Coalpaw nodded. She wasn't sure she wanted fo fight a nasty rogue but maybe the leader was right. Maybe just hunting and border patrols would get boring. "I guess I just don't want to get into unnecessary trouble."
Snowdapple, Wishpaw, and Crowflight Snowdapple pounced at the vole but missed it. She padded back to the others and stood waiting for them. Once Brackentail spoke she uncovered her squirrel and stood with it in her mouth. She was glad for the opportunity to get out of camp and wanted to thank Basilwhisker for the opportunity he had given her.
Wishpaw came up basically dragging her rabbit's feet across the ground. She looked up as Brackentail spoke around his bird. She nodded trying to figure out how to carry the rabbit and robin.
Crowflight looked a little sad that Brackentail said they could be done hunting. He set down his mouse as he watched Wishpaw struggle to carry both her prey. "I'll carry your robin for you." He told the apprentice. He then grabbed the mouse and robin and waited for the patrol to hesd back to camp.
Wishpaw dipped her head to Crowflight. "Thanks for that." She mumbled through the soft fur of the rabbit.
Oak and Spider Oak scratched at fox's pelt some more trying to distract it as it went for Spider but to no avail. She yowled out a warning but watched as the fox made contact with the tom.
Spider was lashing out at the fox now on all fours when he realized it was coming at him. He tried to dodge but realized it was too late. He heard Oak call out a warning and braced himself for the impact. He yowled as the fox came into contact with him

Flamepelt "Being cautious is smart." Flamepelt meowed as he stepped over a small puddle of water. "But part of the warrior code is to challenge trespassers. If that means a fight once in a while, then I welcome it. If one rogue starts hunting on our territory unopposed, we'll soon have more coming, stealing our prey. By maintaining strong borders, we prevent small problems like a single rogue from becoming a much bigger problem in the future." Brackentail Brackentail headed back over to where he had buried his mouse, setting down the sparrow as he retrieved his earlier catch. He awkwardly picked up both pieces of prey, both the mouse and sparrow dangling from his jaws. Unable to speak for fear of dropping his catches, Brackentail signaled with his tail to head back to camp. Red Red reared back as the fox leapt at Spider. The beast landed awkwardly due to its injured paw, more side by side with Spider than on top of him. Red took the opportunity to lunge at the fox, delivering a fierce bite on the tail. Red noticed that Goose also lunged in, though he targeted the fox's hind leg. Snowy Snowy watched in horror as the fox leapt at Spider. "Get off of him!" She called, abandoning her defensive posture to launch herself at the fox. She landed on the fox's flank, digging her claws into its pelt. The Fox The fox landed on Spider, though its leg buckled on impact, sending it reeling to the side. It snarled as it felt the assorted attacks from the surrounding cats. In an attempt to make something out of its attack, the fox jutted its head out, looking to snap its jaws down on Spider's foreleg.

Coalpaw "I understand. I just don't want to jump into unnecessary fights. So if I can convince a cat to leave the territory unharmed I will." She said quietly as though scared she might anger Flamepelt with her words. She kept pace with the two adult cats easily.
Snowdapple, Crowflight, and Wishpaw Snowdapple followed after Brackentail and the others carrying her squirrel. She stepped on a twig and spooked a vole that was nearby and it ran across their path.
Crowflight carried the robin and mouse securely right behind Brackentail. He tried to keep a good distance between the two of them so if Brackentail stopped abruptly he wouldn't run into him.
Wishpaw was in the middle of the group with her large brown rabbit. She had adjusted her hold on it do the feet no longer dragged the ground.
Oak and Spider "Mange pelt leave him alone." Oak screamed and launched herself at the fox. She scratched at its side and did little more damage than was already done.
Spider cursed as the fox collided with him essentially pinning him. He tried to scratch the fox's eye but to no avail. He couldn't get away and yowled in pain as the fox bit his forepaw. He leaned fowsrd and bit the fox's est hard in return.

Flamepelt "You know, you and your mentor think a lot a like." Flamepelt remarked. "I think I've only seen Brackentail in a fight twice since we were apprentices, and only once against another cat. He's probably the least confrontational cat I know. I-" He broke off as he heard something. His ears perked up, listening for whatever the commotion was. "Hold up, I think I hear fighting up ahead." He dropped down into a crouch, prowling forward to see if he could tell what was going on without getting involved. Brackentail Brackentail led the group back to camp, his prey dangling from his jaws. As they returned to camp, he placed the sparrow on the fresh-kill pile and carried the mouse over to the nursery for Willowtail. The Fox The fox scrambled away as it was barraged by the attacking cats. It released its hold on Spider's leg and started to back up. It whipped its head around, looking from cat to cat, it's lips still drawn back in a snarl. It slowly backed up, retreating. Red Red Didn't stop to check on Spider. Instead, he charged at the fox, aiming to drive it away. Goose also helped press the attack, the two of them forced the fox back, away from their territory. Snowy Snowy ignored the fox, which was now being forced away by Red and Goose. She hurried over to Spider, concern plain in her eyes. "Spider, are you alright?" She asked, worried.

Coalpaw Coalpaw paused staying put rather than slinking forward like Flamepelt. She waited for Flamepelt to come back and tell her and Cloudear what was happening. She was worried what fighting they might get involved in.
Snowdapple, Wishpaw, and Crowflight Snowdapple brought her squirrel to the freshkill pile and dropped it off before heading back to the nursery. She walked to the far side of the bush and laid down there. She started to doze off after the exersion of hunting.
Wishpaw thought about taking the rabbit to the elders for them to eat but they were busy deep in mourning. She dipped her head to Basilwhisker who was guarding the front entrance of the camp.
Crowflight took the robin and mouse to the prey pile. He kept the robin and went to lay down away from the mourning cats to est it. He took big hungry bites of the bird and finished it quickly. He then took the bones out into the forest to bury them. He took his time walking bsck to camp enjoying the fresh air leisurely.
Oak and Spider Oak charged the tail end of the fox and bit its tail hard trying to spurr it to run away faster. She was angry that it had gotten Spider and she took the anger out on its hind quarters. Scratching it with all her might.
Spider collapsed in on himself at the pain in his forepaw. There was blood coming from deep puncture marks. When Snowy came up to him he pulled himself together and sat up without putting pressure on his left paw. "Yeah. Its just a bite. I need to get it cleaned up though and need for the bleeding to stop." He powered through not wanting to look weak. He turned back toward the stream and plunged his paw in with a yowl of pain. The blood mixed with the flowing water in pinkish ribbons.

Flamepelt Flamepelt paused as he poked his head out of a thick bush. He was surprised to see another group of cats fighting the fox from earlier, successfully managing to drive it away. He recognized one of the cats as one of the trespassers present when Thymestar was killed. He could also see one of the other cats was wounded. He shuffled backwards, out of the bush, and returned to where Cloudear and Coalpaw waited. "It's the cats from earlier. They're trying to drive that fox away, which means they must be set up nearby." He paused for a moment, a thought flashing through his head. "They've got a wounded cat, too." His gaze swiveled over to Cloudear. "We might be able to learn more about them if we offer to help them. Determine if they're a threat to the clan." The Fox The fox eventually turned tail and fled, running the best it could with its injuries. It headed off towards the thunderpath, its blood leaving a crimson trail behind it. Red Red gave chase for a few more moments before turning around and regrouping. "I hope a monster gets it." He spat as he walked past Goose. He looked around, not seeing Spider or Snowy. "Where are-" He was cut off by Spider's yowl. He hurried over to see what was happening, but was relieved that it was just the jet black tom trying to clean his injury. "How bad is it?" He asked. Snowy Snowy watched with wide eyes as Spider plunged his paw into the water in an attempt to wash his wound. His yowl of pain did nothing to ease her fear for the tom.

Coalpaw Coalpaw looked wide eyed at Flamepelt. She was concerned about meeting the loners that had tresspassed on their territory. She nodded and looked at Cloudear to see what she had to say about it. She flinched when she heard a pained yowl.
Oak and Spider Oak followed after red flinching when she heard Spider yowl. She knew the tom had been bitten but when he pulled it from the water she saw how bad.
Spider pulled his paw from the water when Red asked how bad it was. The bloody water dripping from it. Some blood started to well again in the deep holes left from the fox's teeth. "I'm trying to get it clean so it doesn't get infected." Was all he said after letting the others see his wound. He stuck it back in the stream as the cool water soothed it pain some.

Cloudear Cloudear nodded. She and Flamepelt padded over to where he had spotted the other cats. She could see the injured cat, a jet black tom, washing his injury in the stream. "Would you like some help?" The medicine cat called out, stepping into plain view so as not to alarm them. "I can take a look at that wound, if you'd like." Flamepelt Flamepelt stepped out with the medicine cat, making a conscious effort to seem as relaxed as possible. He looked around at the other group and gave Oak a nod. Red Red turned at the sound of another voice, seeing Cloudear and Flamepelt. "And what makes you think we need your help?" He asked, eying down the medicine cat. "We can take care of our own cats." "We're not trying to say you can't." Cloudear replied, trying to smooth over the situation. "But I know how bad things can get if that wound doesn't get treated properly." Snowy Snowy heard the she-cat's offer for help. "His bite is pretty deep." She told Red quiet enough so that the other cats couldn't hear her. "If she can help, she might just save Spider's life." Red paused for a moment, thinking, before relenting. "Alright. I suppose it wouldn't hurt if I let you look at his bite." Cloudear dipped her head and headed over to Spider. "Can I see your wound?" She asked as she neared.

Coalpaw Coalpaw followed after Cloudear and Flamepelt her eyes wide with wonder. She walked through the group of cats pressing close to Flamepelt.
Oak and Spider Oak returned Flamepelt's nod. "Red this is one of the cats who helped us fight off ghe fox earlier." She glanced around to see if Thymestar was around too wondering if the old cat was okay. "Did your friend mske it out okay? He took that fall pretty hard." She asked the question praying that he had made it despite how bad off he looked.
Spider took his paw back out of the stream and shook it off grimacing at the pain of it. He held it out to Cloudear when she asked. He whimpered a little and looked at Snowy. "I tried to clean it out using the stream. It looks like it missed my paw pad but the bite is pretty deep."

Flamepelt Flamepelt let out a sigh. "Unfortunately, no." He admitted, sorrow in his voice. "He passed shortly after you all left. Cloudear here tried to save him, but his injuries were too severe." He looked over to where the medicine cat was speaking with the black tom before continuing. "That's actually why we're out here. I'm the new leader of our clan, and as such, I must travel to a sacred place in order to speak with our warrior ancestors and be recognized as the new leader." He didn't want to give away too much, as he wasn't quite sure how accepting these cats would be to hearing the full intricacies of clan traditions. Red Red snorted at Flamepelt's explanation. "Sounds like a bunch of superstitious fox-dung to me." The tom continued, though his voice became more insistent than mocking. "Once a cat's dead, they're dead. End of story." Flamepelt could tell that this cat wasn't the most diplomatic. Arguing would most likely just result in heated tempers and fighting. "Well, let's agree to disagree on that." He replied. "What were you all doing fighting off that fox?" Cloudear Cloudear examined the bite. "Looks like that fox got you good." She meowed. She turned to Coalpaw, who was sticking close to Flamepelt. "Coalpaw, can you help me for a moment? I just need you to see if you can find some cobwebs nearby." She returned her attention to Spider. "You'll have to watch out for infection, especially since I don't have any of my usual herbs to help treat it. When you get back to your group, see if there's any goldenrod or horsetail nearby. Those should help you heal and prevent infection from setting in." Snowy Snowy watched as Cloudear spoke with Spider, making sure to listen when she mentioned herbs. "I can look once we get back." She offered. "That way he doesn't hurt himself." (I'm gonna be a bit less responsive this week. I'm going out of town as well as studying for finals)

Coalpaw Coalpaw ran over to Cloudear and listened before running off in the direction of some trees looking for cobwebs. She found some in the hole of a fallen tree. She stuck her paw in them and wrapped up as much as she could around her one paw and hurried back to Cloudear's side. She tried not to look at the injured paw.
Oak and Spider Oak grimaced. "I'm sorry for your loss." She said sincerely. She listened intently to his story and gave Red a quick glance when he was so rude.
Spider nodded and looked thankfully to Snowy. He liked that the she-cat was willong to help him. He moced his paw and winced at the pain. The fox had missed anything important on his forepaw but it was still a deep and bleeding thing.
(Okay. Well have fun with being out of town and good luck on finals))

Red Red rolled his eyes at Flamepelt's question. "What do you think we were doing? The last thing we need is a fox attacking us while we hunt." He stared down the ginger tom. "A fox doesn't scare us. We have no problems fighting one off, and other cats too, for that matter." Flamepelt Flamepelt could plainly detect the thinly veiled threat in Red's words. "I was only curious." He replied, returning Red's stare. He wasn't trying to be aggressive, but rather assert himself. "If you're going through the trouble of driving a fox away, I take it you all have set up nearby?" "Yeah, what of it?" Red questioned, a hint of defensiveness in his voice. "If that's the case, I wouldn't mind meeting your leader if they're open to it." He licked a paw and drew it over his ear before once again staring at red. "Our two groups don't have to be enemies." His words were clearly pointed at Red's undue combativeness. "We might be able to help each other." Cloudear Cloudear took the cobwebs from Coalpaw and begun applying them to Spider's bite. "This might hurt a little." She stated as she applied pressure, hoping to stop the bleeding. Snowy Snowy watched as the medicine cat worked, making sure to take mental note of what Cloudear was doing so she could take care of Spider when they got back. (Thanks! I'll probably be on tomorrow, but sunday through tuesday I'm gonna be swamped.)

Coalpaw Coalpaw turned away as Cloudear started to wrap and press Spider's paw. She could tell the tom was in pain and could do nothing about it.
Oak and Spider Oak listened to the two toms talk. She was unsurprised thag Red was acting this way but was disgusted nonetheless. "Red I think Waspbite would like to meet the cat who saved Echo, Web, and I's hides." She interjected knowing it would anger the second in command.
Spider winced and tried his hardest to not pull his paw away as the she-cat tried to stop the bleeding on his forepaw. "Man thag hurts" he complained

Red Red gave her an angered glance, though he didn't say anything to her. Instead, he turned back to Flamepelt. "Fine. I'll ask him." He begrudgingly stated. "Don't get any ideas, though." Flamepelt The ginger tom dipped his head. He knew this was the best he was going to get from this cat. "Thank you. Do you know the large oak with all the scratch marks in it?" He asked. "Yeah." Red replied. "Tell him to meet us there in two days when the moon is full." Cloudear Cloudear moved her paws away from the cobwebs. "Okay, I think the bleeding has stopped." She meowed. She took what little cobwebs were left and reapplied them to the wound, so as to stop dirt and whatnot from getting into the bite. "I want you to stay off of it for a while. You don't want to aggravate the injury any worse than it already is." She nodded to Snowy. "But I'm sure you'll make sure of that." She added, a hint of amusement in her voice. Snowy Snowy nodded back to Cloudear. "I sure will." The she-cat turned back to Spider. "You hear that? I'm gonna make sure you stay in camp until that bite is healed. Don't get any wise ideas because I'll get your sister to help me if I have to."

Oak and Spider Oak smiled at Flamepelt. She was happy to interject and make a meeting possible. She hoped Red would actually ask Waspbite and that Waspbite was as open minded as she thought he was.
Spider sighed. "How am I supposed to get back across the stream to get back to camp like this?" He complained to Snowy who knew he had struggled to cross the first time with all four paws. He dipped his head in thanks to Cloudear. "We don't have a healer in our group so thank you."

Red "The scratched oak at full-moon." The tom echoed. "I'll tell him. Don't expect him to go alone, though." The tom started walking back over to Snowy and Spider. Flamepelt Flamepelt let out a sigh as Red walked away. "Well, that could've gone worse." He said to himself. He looked at oak and dipped his head. "It's about time we head out. It looks like Cloudear's just about finished with your friend's wound, there." Cloudear Cloudear dipped her head to Spider. "It's no problem. Maybe if our two groups can come to an agreement, I might be able to teach a few of you some things. It's dangerous to not have a medicine cat." With that, Cloudear padded back over to where Flamepelt was waiting. "That went well." She remarked. "Those two seem like good cats." "Well, lets hope their leader is more sensible than the one leading that patrol, or I fear we might end up in a full blown war." Flamepelt replied. "Thymestar sacrificed himself for those cats. I don't want that to be in vein." Snowy "Thank you!" Snowy called out as Cloudear walked away. Turning to Spider, she looked at his now wrapped paw. "I can help you cross the stream." She told him. "And if Goose says anything, I'll claw his ears off."

Coalpaw Coalpaw watched as the other cats started to walk in the other direction. She looked up to Flamepelt and nodded at his words. She was ready to get back on the wsy to the Moon Mushrooms.
Oak and Spider Oak dipped her head to Flamepelt snd gave him a wink before she strode off. She grouped up with the others and got ready to cross the stream again.
Spider blinked his thanks to Snowy and stood up on his three good paws. "I might be a little slow so I'll take up the rear" he said to the group.
