Basilwhisker
Basilwhisker chuckled and headed to the warriors den. He bumped his body against Rosefur. Their fur brushing as they walked. "Goodnight." He said before climbing into the den and padding around cats to his nest.
Spider
"Goodnight" Spider quietly called to Snowy as he watched her disappear into the den. He moved to lay back down where he was to watch the fish play in the water. Though within minutes he was blinking back sleep and went to his nest.
(Would you like to start the next day?)

(I think the issue is we are so very understaffed. We meet the bare minimum to be open at 50% capacity. And thats only if no one calls off. And we've had quite a few call offs. Tuesday was definitely a managers mistake but probably the gm. Not the manager on duty.)

Rosefur Rosefur followed behind Basilwhisker, carefully navigating through the den until she finally found her nest. She laid down, getting comfortable, though she had a hard time sleeping. Her mind continued to focus on Basilwhisker, and her thoughts often lingered on what lay in store for them. After a while, she managed to drift into a deep sleep, her dreams happy and hopeful. Snowy Snowy curled up in her nest, her tail resting gently over her nose. She waited for a few moments to see if Spider would come in, but she fell asleep well before he did. She slept well, most likely due to her earlier exhaustion. The next day Flamestar Flamestar's eyes flicked open, focusing on a beam of light that danced across the floor of his den. He stood, stretching. The ginger tom pushed himself outside, looking around. It was still early morning, the sun just peaking through the trees. Few cats were awake, though he noticed Eaglepaw staggering out of the apprentice's den and Brackentail guarding the entrance. He looked tired, and he wondered what was on his brother's mind. It would still be a while before he needed to announce the big news, and he hadn't really talked with his littermates in a few days. Padding over, he said, "Good morning." Brackentail "Morning." Brackentail replied as his brother walked over. "How'd the meeting go?" "Pretty well. There's some news regarding the other cats, but I'm waiting a little bit before making the announcement." Flamestar stated. "Understandable." He remarked. Changing the subject, he added, "Have you talked with Rosefur recently?" "Only briefly." The ginger tom responded. "She and Basilwhisker brought in a few fish. Why?" "There were a few rumors about her and Basilwhisker going around, so I talked to her to see if they were true." Brackentail explained. "She seemed pretty conflicted, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had some new additions to the clan soon." Flamestar gave his brother a surprised look. "You think so?" "She told me she likes him." Brackentail divulged. "She was just worried about not being able to do her warrior duties." "That makes much more sense." The leader replied, nodding. "Rosefur's never been one for shirking her responsibilities." "I told her to do whatever makes her happy. The rest of the clan will be able to cope if she ends up in the nursery. It's early enough that her kits would probably be eating fresh-kill by leaf-bare, and Duckkit and Spottedkit would both be apprentices by then." "That is, if Duckkit can behave." Flamestar joked. "He's no worse than you were when we were kits." Brackentail pointed out. "At least Duckkit hasn't snuck out of camp to go hunt badgers." "Point taken." Flamestar chuckled. Flamestar noticed a few more cats had begun waking up. "I should probably call that clan meeting now." Brackentail dipped his head. "Go for it. I'll let you know if I hear anything else about Rosefur." "I might talk to her myself. I haven't had a good talk with her since I became leader." With that, Flamestar headed towards the Guardian Oak. Leaping into a low-hanging branch, he called out. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey meet here beneath the Guardian Oak for a clan meeting!"

(I just don't see how any GM could look at how understaffed y'all are and think "This is fine." They're gonna wind up with an even greater shortage of workers if they overwork their employees because that's where you lose worker morale and people start leaving.)

Basilwhisker The deputy had been awake for a couple hours at the point when Flamestar called the meeting. He walked over and sat close to the trunk of the Guardian Oak and wrapped his tail around his paws. He looked up at his leader ears perked.
Snowdapple and her kits (the 'paws) Snowdapple and Coalpaw, Wishpaw, and Gazepaw were all together sharing a couple squirrels between them when Flamestar called the meeting. They turned to all face the Guardian Oak and sat in silent anticipation.
The other cats in the clan quickly formed a grouping around the Guardian Oak and murmured restlessly before quieting down.

(I'm certainly not sure what he was thinking. He actually yelled at another manager for helping me out with carryouts because he wanted him helping the other host. Which left me running with my head chopped off. Its not a fun time at Bob Evans and its gonna be worse when we go to full capacity)

Rosefur Rosefur sleepily padded out of the warrior's den, arching her back in a stretch. She quickly trotted over to the Guardian Oak, sitting next to Turtleheart. She noticed Lionpaw and Eaglepaw whispering to her right, as well as Willowtail peeking her head out of the nursery. She turned her attention towards Flamestar, waiting for her brother to make an announcement. Flamestar Flamestar waited for everyone to gather before beginning. "As you all may know, we met with the leader of the loners last night. Their leader, Waspbite, has agreed to respect our borders, so we shouldn't have a problem with trespassers any longer." A few cheers were audible. He gave the clan a moment to quiet down before continuing. "We have bigger news than that, though. We discussed quite a few things with them, and they seemed intrigued by the ways of clan life. I have offered them assistance in becoming a clan if they so choose." Brackentail Brackentail was caught off-guard by the news. He was surprised that his brother, of all cats, would be so willing to help another group of cats to be come a clan. There had always been one clan in the forest. The thought of another clan worried Brackentail. Surely there will be issues, whether they be border disputes or even an all out war. It was more of a question of when, not if.

(He isn't the best I'll admit that. He didn't tell anyone yesterday that I was taken off the schedule cause I was getting my second covid vaccine. So everyone was short with me today cause they thought I was a no call no show. He also didn't warn any of us that there would be a trainee today for hosting/carryout. We had and assistant GM that I was hoping would become GM of our store but he moved somewhere else. Also I will get replies up.)

Yeah, that's rough. My work is pretty efficient because all the guys there have been working there for 3+ years at least. All the issues are from outside sources like nitpicking inspectors or pre-existing problems that we were never told about. That's why if I'm gonna be out, I'll typically tell more than just my boss so there's horizontal communication rather than just lateral.)

(I had told other people but he was supposed to write it down on the schedule. The managers are all supposed to communicate. They have a group chat and everything. Also I don't know who works what days so the people who knew probably weren't working or it slipped their mind)
Coalpaw Coalpaw looked worried by the announcement. She didn't like the idea of messing with these other cats' systems. "Couldn't we just leave them alone." She said quietly. Unlike Brackentail she wasn't worried about war. Rather she worried about focing their beliefs onto other cats.
Snowdapple Snowdapple nodded happily as Flamestar said the others agreed to stay off their territory. She seemed a little less enthusiastic about them becoming a clan but not outright worried like Coalpaw and Brackentail. She just didn't know how it could be done.

Rosefur Rosefur gasped at the reveal. She didn't know if she liked the idea or not, but she supposed it depended on how the other group acted. If they stay true to their word, she didn't really have a problem with these other cats. What she feared, was if these cats proved to be a threat. Especially if her and Basilwhisker wanted to have kits, she didn't want them to be put in harms way. Flamestar Flamestar gave the clan a moment to calm down before he resumed speaking. He figured initial reactions would be pretty negative, but he hoped he could convince the clan of the benefits of the arrangement. "I know it seems strange, having another clan, but it should bring about more good than bad." The ginger tom explained. "Think about it. If something were to happen, we'd have allies to back us up. Our borders are staying the same and we lose nothing except our isolation. I am bringing their leader to our camp today to give him an understanding of how the camp operates. I don't expect everyone to agree with my decision, but I do expect everyone to treat their leader with respect." Brackentail Brackentail listened to his brother's explanation, but he still had a hard time accepting it. He didn't like the fact that their leader was coming to their camp, where his mate and kits were. What if these other cats were merely arranging some sort of ambush, using this as an opportunity to locate their camp? He flashed a worried look over at Willowtail, who was herding Duckkit back inside as she listened.

Coalpaw Coalpaw looked a little calmer than before. If the leader was accepting of it then maybe they weren't forcing their beliefs on these other cats. She did look worried about strange cats coming into their home. She looked around to see how her clanmates were reacting.
Basilwhisker Basilwhisker looked clam and collected as he already knew what was happening. There was just a slight glint of worry in his eyes about the cats coming into their camp. He knew though it was the only way to get them to show where their camp was as well.
(We don't have a way to do it electronically. They require in person or on through a phone call. I did check that he changed it on the paper schedule but I guess he never wrote it on the manager's copy. Oh well. People can talk if they want I was in the right on that one.)

Rosefur Rosefur looked over at Basilwhisker and, for a moment, she was surprised the tom was so calm. Then she realized he must have known all this ahead of time. She wished he would have told her before, but she understood why he didn't. She didn't like the fact that these cats would know where the camp was, but she knew she wouldn't be able to change Flamestar's mind. Her brother had always been firm in his decisions and was hard to dissuade. Flamestar Flamestar continued his address, his gaze continuously sweeping the crowd of cats below him. "Even though we are taking a risk in revealing the location of our camp, it's more of an extension of trust." He proclaimed. "They have also agreed to let Cloudear visit their camp and share some of what she knows. Should they continue their efforts to be a clan, which I hope they will, Cloudear will help train their medicine cat. I'm hoping that the benefits they stand to gain from becoming a clan will help prevent any suspicion between us and lead to a prosperous relationship that will help make Hollowclan stronger and safer than ever." Brackentail Brackentail felt slightly relieved when his brother mentioned that Cloudear would be going to their camp as well. It was risky, but knowing where their camp is would certainly help conflicts from escalating. If both groups know where their weakest points are, neither would want to provoke the other to attack. He was certainly going to talk to the ginger tom when he saw him next, but he wasn't completely outraged by the situation. (That's kind of a dumb system. People forget things, computers and phones don't. On another note, I got to check something off my bucket list a few days ago.)

Coalpaw Coalpaw nodded as Flamestar spoke next. She felt better about the situation though still a little on edge. She looked to her mentor and saw that he seemed calmer and more accepting than he had at the first part of the announcement.
Basilwhisker The deputy gazed across the clan guaging their opinions. The elders looked calm and collected as he felt. Though Coalpaw and Brackentail looked concerned. Then his eyes met Rosefur's. He realized he should have told her after confessing his feelings but he had been too distracted by his love for her. He flashed her an apologetic smile and blinked softly.
(Oh really? What did you do?)

Rosefur Rosefur smiled as Basilwhisker's eyes met hers. She gave the tom a slight nod to say that she understood. With him being the deputy, she figured she should probably get used to him knowing things he can't talk about with her. She watched the deputy for a moment longer before tearing her gaze away to focus on what Flamestar was saying. Flamestar "Furthermore, I'd like to display how we train our apprentices. As such, I'd like for the apprentices and their mentors to train as a group today." Flamestar looked over to Basilwhisker. "Seeing as how I will be unable to stay for the entire training session, I'd like for Basilwhisker to oversee the training. Everyone else, it's just business as usual. You all are dismissed." The ginger tom leapt down from the Guardian oak, landing firmly on the ground below. Brackentail Brackentail turned towards Coalpaw. "Looks like we got group training, then." He remarked to his apprentice. The tom looked around, noticing Lionpaw and Eaglepaw next to their mother. "I'm hoping Basilwhisker keeps an eye on Lionpaw. We don't need him making a fool of himself in front of these other cats' leader."

Basilwhisker Basilwhisker smiled as Rosefur nodded at him. He didn't know if Flamestar would be okay with him sharing important information with others before he made the announcement so he decided he would just keep quiet. He nodded to the leader when he said he would have to lead the group training that day. He waited for the mentors and apprentices to gather. He would then lead them to the training hollow.
Coalpaw Coalpaw nodded to Brackentail as he spoke. "I don't know how I feel about strange cats coming into our home." She confided in her mentor. She looked up at Flamestar and held back a grimace at what he had said. She shook herself and waited for the other mentors and apprentices to gather.
Wishpaw Wishpaw stood near Coalpaw and Brackentail and then walked away leaving them to their conversation. She caught her mentor looking at Basilwhisker and Basilwhisker looking at her and smiled a sly smile. "Good morning Rosefur." She said coming up to the older she-cat. She sat down next to her mentor and waited for her to instruct her on what to do next.
Crowflight The tom was looking around watching the clan when Flamestar made the announcement that there would be group training that day. He looked around for Eaglepaw and spotted her next to her brother and mother. He motioned for her and headed to stand near Basilwhisker.
Waspbite Waspite woke up in his sandy den and started to crawl out so he could stretch and take in the morning air. He looked around camp and noticed that many of the group we already awake. He went and jumped on the rock in the middle of camp and let out a yowl to get the group's attention. He waited for them to look while he licked his chest.
(Thats super cool. I think I would be too scared of the cars to do that.)

Rosefur Rosefur's gaze snapped away from Basilwhisker as she heard her apprentice's voice next to her. She nodded to the smaller she-cat and spoke. "Good morning to you, too, Wishpaw." She gave one of her paws a lick before continuing with a hint of amusement in her voice. "Are you ready to show up the other apprentices today?" Flamestar Flamestar spotted his apprentice and headed over. He called out to the golden tom as he neared. "Lionpaw!" The apprentice's attention flicked to him. "I know I won't be able to be there for the whole training, so I want you to listen to Basilwhisker. If he tells you to jump, ask how high. I know I haven't been able to do much training with you since I became leader, but I promise once all this craziness gets sorted out I'll show you some fighting moves that I've been saving for when you were ready." Lionpaw Lionpaw's eyes lit up. "Awesome! I can't wait!" "Well, you're going to have to." Flamestar replied, with a chuckle. "Now, go report in to Basilwhisker. I'm sure he'll want to go sooner rather than later." "Okay, Flamestar!" He replied, bounding off towards the deputy. He skidded to a stop in front of the black and gray tom. Brackentail Brackentail let out a sigh. "I'm not quite sure how to feel about it, either." He told the apprentice. "I think we just see how it goes. I know Flamestar wouldn't put us in danger on purpose, so I'm going to trust his decision for the time being." The tom looked over at his brother, who had just finished speaking with Lionpaw. "We'll likely be going soon." Eaglepaw Eaglepaw looked around, spotting Crowflight as he beckoned for her. She was about to head over when her mother spoke. "Be careful out there, okay?" Turtleheart meowed, a slight hint of worry in her voice. Eaglepaw rolled her eyes. "I will." The small apprentice replied, exasperated. She padded over to her mentor and stood next to him. "Ready to go." She reported. Red Red lifted his head as he heard Waspbite's summons. He stood up, shaking his fur out, before heading over to listen to the announcement. Red sat down, waiting to hear what was to be said. A few moments later, Goose plopped down next to him. "Red, I don't think you're gonna like what Waspbite's got to say. There's been whispers around the camp." "Well, I guess we'll see then, won't we?" Red replied, slightly irritated.

Wishpaw Wishpaw laughed silently as her mentor whipped around to see her. "Of course I'm ready. I'm ready for my warrior name too." She clawed at the ground a little excited and the straightened up. She sat down and looked from Rosefur to Basilwhisker. "Should we go join your boyfriend?" She said with a sarcastic grin.
Basilwhisker The tom had glanced away from Rosefur just as Lionpaw bounced up to him. "Hello Lionpaw. I appreciate your enthusiasm but remember to be on your best behavior. " he chuckled and stood. Nodding in greeting to Crowflight and Eaglepaw who were nearby.
Coalpaw Coalpaw nodded and started to look around the camp. She saw the other mentors and apprentices starting to gather around near the deputy. She stood up from where ahe was sitting and waited for Brackentail to lead the way over to the group.
Crowflight The tom nodded when his apprentice came over to him. "This is a very important training session." He told Eaglepaw. He nodded back to Basilwhisker and settled doen to wait further instructions.

Waspbite
The leader of the loner group waited for the cats to come and settle down. He saw Red and Goose talking. He also saw Quail and Tawny sitting together by the nursery sharing tongues. He paused in his yowl and took a deep breath. "Yesterday I met with a few of the cats from the other group in this area. They call themselves a clan and we seem to have been trespassing into their territory. I want us to watch for their scent marks from now on." He paused looking for a bad reaction from his second in command. "That isn't all we talked about either. They want to help us become a clan. To adopt their warrior code and live peacefully beside them." He waited to see what the cats gathered below him would say.

(honestly, it might help to look around for another potential job. if you can find something that is better for you, then I'd consider applying and seeing if you can go somewhere else that isn't so taxing for you. It's pretty obvious that bad upper management is what's driving the place down and constantly losing staff might make some of the higher up people like the owner consider getting better management. It sounds like you might enjoy working at a non-chain restaurant because they typically don't get packed like that and are much more easy going. It just might be a tad difficult finding one that survived the lockdown.) Rosefur Rosefur rolled her eyes at the apprentice's comment. "Sure. Looks like he's over there talking to yours." She rebutted, referring to Lionpaw. She didn't wait for the apprentice to reply, but instead padded over to where the others were gathering, motioning for wishpaw to follow with her tail. Lionpaw Lionpaw nodded. "I'll do so good that they'll think I'm already a warrior!" The apprentice exclaimed, puffing up his chest. The golden furred apprentice was certainly determined, but it was still a question as to how disciplined he could be. Brackentail Brackentail stood and headed towards Basilwhisker, stopping next to his sister. He turned back to make sure Coalpaw followed and waited for Basilwhisker to deliver orders. He looked back towards the nursery and hoped there wouldn't be any issues. Eaglepaw Eaglepaw nodded and rasped her tongue across her shoulder. She may be the smallest apprentice, but she was determined to do the best she could. Eaglepaw knew she could out hunt her brother, but she wouldn't stand much of a chance in a sparring match against any of the other apprentices, which irritated her. She knew what she was doing, but she didn't have the size or the strength to make any of her knowledge effective. Red Red listened to Waspbite's announcement. At the mention of borders, the second in command scoffed. These clan cats have shown nothing but weakness, so why should they respect their borders. As Waspbite resumed, Red's sense of irritation grew to indignation. Become a clan? The fact that Waspbite would agree to something like that bewildered Red. "Why should we?" Red called out. "They're nothing but a bunch of weak-willed morons!"
