Amberpaw Though it was sad to hear her say it aloud, Amberpaw nodded in understanding. Perhaps, the apprentice considered, with Sunclan in such a state, their clan-mates would need the extra paws of even just two more warriors. Not to mention, they had their friends to think about. They couldn't leave Koipaw there all on his own, could they? Still, it was difficult to accept.
He sighed quietly and took a step back from Pinestripe, curling his crooked tail around Tigerpaw's shoulders. "We'll be careful."
Was it really already time to leave? It took a couple of heartbeats for Amberpaw to be able to tear his gaze away from Pinestripe and nudge Tigerpaw gently.
He knew the promise of seeing Pinestripe again soon would be something he thought about often.โ๏ธ
Meadowsweet
Meadowsweet nodded, frowning slightly. In truth, she wanted to see this through, make sure everything turned out alright herself. Despite this, she saw the sense in Ripplecatcher's words - there was little point in risking their friendly relationship with Moonclan. "Alright," she meowed reluctantly, looking back over her shoulder at Pinestripe and the apprentices. "You should be the one to take her."
She lapsed into silence for a moment, listening to her surroundings, scanning the undergrowth. Then, she turned to look at him again. "You know, you could probably stay in Moonclan too. If you wanted. I doubt they'd separate a queen from her mate... not with the kits so close."

Sunclan Ripplecatcher-Forest-Patrol Ripplecatcher watched the farewells. He thought over Meadowsweet's words. He would love to stay and be there to support Pinestripe, if she wanted him to be there. He didn't like the idea of leaving her alone in Moonclan, but it did bring him comfort that she would at least have medicine cats there to care for her. He looked to Pinestripe waiting to see if she was ready to go. |

Coyote trotted after Koipaw, sticking closely to the tom's flank. She knew most cats didn't like when she stood so close, but all the new scents and sounds of the darkening Island were a little frightening. Back on the mainland, she'd always hidden herself in the trees as soon as the sun set.
"Why's he so stressed?" she asked, then carried on, "When I'm stressed, it messes with my stomach. My dad used to make me chew up juniper berries; they're gross, but they help. Maybe your leader should give them a try!"
Koipaw seemed to relax a little as he mentioned his mentor. Coyote wondered if mentors acted as her father had, doling out wisdom and survival tips.
"Having some cats be nice to me would be, well, nice. What's your mentor like?"
๐ Shaleheart || With Wolfmist
Silence held between them for a moment, and Shaleheart realized he'd been grimacing. Hoping Wolfmist hadn't noticed, he forced himself to release some of the tension in his jaws. Go limp, he told himself, letting the muscles in his shoulders and mouth loosen. He counted pebbles on the ground until his thoughts of Feathersong faded.
Beside him, Wolfmist opened her mouth. Something like fear prickled in Shaleheart's gut; he thought for sure she'd seen his composure slip and was going to ask him what was wrong. He braced himself.
When Wolfmist invited him to share prey, he felt cool relief and...something else. Something that made his whiskers droop with weariness. Did I want her to ask? No. Definitely not. Get it together, Shaleheart. The clan needs you focused.
"Prey sounds good, thanks. I hope somecat brought back a squirrel today." He glanced at the darkening treetops overhead, searching for any bushy tails. Climbing trees wasn't his favorite activity--he'd had a nasty fall as an apprentice--but the nutty taste of squirrel was delicious enough to tempt him off the forest floor.

๐ "I guess so." Winning? Thistlepaw wasn't fully aware this had become a competition. But then again, everything was a competition to Pinkpaw. He wasn't really sure Ravenwing wouldn't get mad at them for their antics today. Hopefully he did like some honey. The young apprentice took some hesitant steps with his swollen leg. He'd just pull through and go along after the determined she-cat. Quickly he grabbed onto the trinkets, shells and the leaf with the honeycomb. With his jaws full he hurried after Pinkpaw, trying his best to ignore his throbbing leg.
๐ "Yeah, that'd be nice." Wolfmist agreed. A squirrel on the freshkill pile would always be a treat. "I wonder what my apprentice has been up to. She better be in camp when we return. It's getting quite dark already." The gray and white warrior glanced around, remembering that Flashpaw hadn't been in camp when they left. Apprentices roaming around the forest alone in the dark would be no good. Soon they neared Moonclan camp but when they made it through the entrance there was no sighn of her apprentice - nor any other apprentice. Something was up with those youngsters. Her hazel gaze narrowed as she scanned the camp for Wavestep. Maybe the deputy knew what the apprentices were up to as well.
โ๏ธ Willowsong was pleasantly surprised to hear the ginger leader was willing to join her. She followed right after him, her blue gaze warily scanning the clearing. It seemed like nothing was going on, calm and serene. Which was good. There was no sign of Pinestripe but for all they knew she might as well be in the nursery. She made her way over towards the camp entrance and paused to wait for Emberstar to lead the way. It would do him good to gaze over the water and take in the fresh scents of the territory.
โ๏ธ Tigerpaw sighed dissapointedly. She wasn't ready to go. But she'd never really be ready to let her mother go. She gazed at her mother as she stepped back, looking at the striped queen in the darkening light of the forest. Please Starclan, bring her back to Sunclan soon.. Amberpaw's soft nudge singaled that they needed to go. "Be safe mom." The striped apprentice meowed before she turned around with her friend. It felt like she had eaten stones this sunhigh and her body was too heavy to move. Hesitantly she walked away from the group of cats, close by Amberpaw's side. She watched over her shoulder once more, before they dissappeared into the bushes and undergrowth before them.
โ๏ธ Pinestripe's heart ached as she watched the apprentices turn away. She stood there for a few moments, letting a few more tears escape before she wiped them away with her tail. She had to pull through. For the kits. She glanced over to Ripplecatcher, meeting his gaze. It always made her feel calmer, steady and reassured. Something she noticed Amberpaw and Tigerpaw shared too. She nodded to her mate and Meadowsweet, signaling that she was ready to go. The kits in her belly seemed restless, as if they sensed her stress. She hoped they wouldn't be too affected by it. Soon she'd go lie down in a warm nest, even if it was an unfamiliar place, it would feel safe.

Pinkpaw | with apprentice squad
The white furred apprentice barreled back into the clearing where they'd meet up "Guess what we found?!" she meowed loudly, looking around for the other apprentices who would hopefully be returning soon. Pinkpaw looked just a bit crazed, her fur was half soaked, and she twitched a bit near where she'd gotten stung. But that didn't matter as long as she won. No one else thought it was something to win, but in her mind everything was a competition.
Ravenwing | open
The medicine cat was just finishing collecting herbs. They'd spent more time than they'd meant to, plucking away rotten leaves from the herbs and throwing them as far as they could. The rot couldn't spread. Ravenwing was packing up the small piles of different herbs into a large leaf, not wanting to drop any as they made their way back to camp. They were relatively close to the border, which made the fact they'd spent a long time even more dangerous.

Koipaw | with Coyote
"She's nice, and understanding. I'm not very good at being a clan cat, but she's never gotten upset with me." Koipaw admitted. He was slower than the other apprentices, even some that were younger than him. But he never felt that he was lesser when his mentor was working with him. Though, some of the other warriors did sometimes give him looks that made him uneasy.
"We're here." he meowed, flicking his ears towards the camp "Don't... do anything that makes you seem dangerous." he finished, shifting uncomfortably on his paws. What would the rest of the clan think when he walked in with a loner?

MoonClan: Woodflower sat in the MoonClan clearing, everything sorted for the day, but as she gazed around the camp, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen, and that the tension between SunClan and MoonClan was going to be pushed to the brink of snapping. She tensed up, wanting to do something, but she knew she would just have to wait.

Wavestep
Wavestep had been quietly eating a mouse by the fresh-kill pile when he noticed Wolfmist and Shaleheart walk back into camp. Over the moons since his appointment, the blue-grey tom had cultivated a finely honed sense for discerning when someone needed to speak to him. He finished off his meal in a few quick bites and dipped his head towards the two warriors, now sitting upright.
It hadn't escaped his notice that the apprentices had all mysteriously vanished but until now, he hadn't been particularly concerned with it. Even if they weren't out there training, part of him felt they ought to be allowed a small break to relieve stress. Now, though, it was becoming apparent that none of the mentors were aware of what they were doing either; he had seen at least two of them looking for their apprentices earlier and to no avail.

Amberpaw
Amberpaw was quiet as they walked back through Sunclan territory, his gaze pensive and a bit forlorn. He knew there wasn't much he could say to comfort Tigerpaw so instead, he simply remained close to her. More than anything, he was feeling dazed. Everything had happened so quick - in the space of a single night, they had parted from a cat who was very important to both of them.
After a few moments, Amberpaw gently tried to slip into a faster pace. It was getting very dark now and he wanted to get back to camp before anyone questioned their absence. I should try to think of an excuse ... just in case.

Meadowsweet
Meadowsweet blinked sympathetically at the older she-cat, then gave Ripplecatcher a firm nod. "I'll make sure the apprentices get home safe, shall I?" She glanced into the undergrowth behind them, her tail flicking with agitation. "Ripplecatcher will get you to Moonclan safely and the less of us that are unaccounted for, the better, I think..."
It was sad to see her clan-mate go and yet, it was also something of a relief. Sunclan just couldn't give her the care she needed right now...
"Take care, okay? It'll be nice to see you again when all this is over." She touched her muzzle lightly to Pinestripe's and Ripplecatcher's. If Ripplecatcher did end up staying in Moonclan with his mate, she would need to think of a good cover for herself, Amberpaw and Tigerpaw. |

๐ Thistlepaw just stood there, waiting for the other apprentices while he held onto the stuff hanging from his jaw. He looked around, hoping Flashpaw and Brightpaw would appear soon. His heartbeat pulsed through his leg and he could hardly take his mind of it.
โ๏ธ Tigerpaw walked close to Amberpaw, her lips sealed as she tried to match his pace. She wasn't sure what to say or what to do. Her mind felt like it was scattered all over the forest floor. A part of her wanted to comfort Amberpaw, Pinestripe was dear to him too. But she didn't know what she could possibly say to comfort him, she couldn't even comfort herself. She felt restless, trying to process why this was the way it had to be. Why did Starclan choose this path for them? Her amber gaze automatically shifted up but there were no stars to be seen yet. Hopefully her father, Goldenspots and Eagletalon would look over her mother and keep her and the new kits safe. Suddenly she just stopped in her tracks as if she was frozen, her face slightly bewildered.
โ๏ธ Pinestripe blinked slowly, touching her muzzle gently to Meadowsweet's. The warrior was right, it might be better for her to watch over the apprentices. Secretly she'd hoped Meadowsweet would accompany them to Moonclan. It was scary to just move over the border, into unknown territory. However, it would make their dissappearance more obvious and she didn't want the warrior to get in trouble. The fact that Meadowsweet had supported her through this as much as she did was something she greatly appreciated. The queen softly nodded her head. "Thank you so much Meadowsweet. Please stay safe." She gestured with her tail for Ripplecatcher to go, if they waited any longer she might lose her courage to make the journey and the kits were tiring her already.

Sunclan Ripplecatcher-Border-Patrol Ripplecatcher returned the action to Meadowsweet. He was still deciding if he was going to stay in Moonclan, maybe even if it was just for the night to just try give her some comfort in the u familiar place. "Stay safe you three in getting back to camp," he said. He looked to Pinestripe, moving closer to help support her through the other clan's territory. He scented the air, finding the stale scent of a small two cat patrol, so hopefully they shouldn't reach to much trouble in getting to camp. I'll get replies for flashpaw and emberstar in a bit more time) |

โ๏ธ Pinestripe waved her tail goodbye at Meadowsweet and wobbled after her mate, taking a few hesitant steps past the clanborder. Even though nor the apprentices, nor Meadowsweet could join her into the territory it helped that Ripplecatcher stayed close to her side. The only positive thing she could take from this experience was that she was blessed with cats that cared greatly about her. Sheโd cling to this thought every time she started to worry about what would happen in the future. Unfortunately she couldnโt walk that fast but she tried to keep a steady pace. The sooner theyโd get to Moonclan camp, the better. โWhat do you think their camp is like?โ She asked Ripplecatcher, hopefully this conversation could keep her mind away from all the worries, even for a little.

The medicine cat perked up when they heard voices. The voices didn't sound familiar... so they waited. They weren't a warrior, no way were they going to pick a fight. But they were curious who had wandered onto Moonclan territory. So they waited, by the sound of it the way they were walking would have the pair run into the clearing Ravenwing currently stood in.

(Sorry for the slow responses! We're in our busy season at work and mandatory overtime is in effect, so most nights I come home and just crash immediately without getting anything done. Hopefully it slows down soon!)

Now that Wolfmist mentioned it, Shaleheart thought it odd that Flashpaw was unaccounted for. As he thought about it, he realized he hadn't seen a single apprentice in camp when he and Wolfmist left, and hadn't heard or scented any of the younger cats while they were out by the border.
"I hope they're minding themselves, whatever they're up to," he mewed as they entered camp; a quick sweep of the clearing told him the apprentices were still absent. Irritation prickled Shaleheart's pelt. He doubted all of the apprentices had asked for permission before wandering off. If they were up to anything or skipping out on duties, they'd need discipline. Not for the first time recently, Shaleheart wished to be an active mentor.
By the fresh-kill pile, Wavestep was finishing his meal. The tom sat up and dipped his head as Shaleheart and Wolfmist padded over to him.
"Hello, Wavestep," Shaleheart dipped his head to the deputy in return. "Wolfmist and I bring news from the border."
โ๏ธ Coyote || With Koipaw
"Your mentor sounds like a good cat," Coyote mewed, hoping that the rest of Koipaw's clanmates managed to be as understanding as he described his mentor. "And you don't seem like that bad of a clan cat to me! Not many cats I've met would throw themselves into the lake to save a stranger."
Gradually, the smell of strange cats grew stronger, until the air was so thick with it that Coyote began to feel a little dizzy. It was then that Koipaw announced they'd arrived, looking about as nervous as Coyote felt. His next words made her mouth go dry with worry.
"Not dangerous?" she whispered, shrinking down beside the tom. What will they do if they think I'm dangerous? She licked frantically at her sides, trying to prevent her still-wet fur from spiking in fear. "Sure, sure, I can do that. I'm as harmless as a water vole, but twice as soggy." She made herself laugh and felt the smallest bit of fear dissipate.

Sorry for the late replies my mental health has been iffy due to some irl issues that have been going on, nothing to terrible but still kinda serious as it involves a family members health,) Sun clan Ripplecatcher-Forest-Pinestripe,Ravenwing "I'm sure it will be similar to Sunclan camp, after all we work with similar things," he said. Plus both clans operated to the same way, to some degree with the current circumstance. "Though it might be a bit darker in their camp during the day due to their territory." The grey tom kept close to her, as they hopefully were getting closer to the camp. Instead when they got to a clearing he flicked his ear a bit. He never actually been in the territory so trying to find the other clan's camp was similar to trying to find prey in leafbare, difficult. Emberstar-Forest//Camp(?)-Willowsong Emberstar relaxed a bit when they left the camp, some tension he didn't know he had leaving his body. He He picked his pace up a bit as he walked to the shore line. Once the sand was beneath his paws he slowed down, watching the waves before looking back to see if Willowsong had followed after all. Spotting the she cat, he sat on the sand, flexing his claws a bit as he turned his attention back to the water. There was no water monsters or twolegs out ruining the scenery, granted it was to late for those to be out anyways. But it was still pleasant none the less. Moonclan Flashpaw-Forest-Brightpaw The black tabby she cat ended back to where she and Bright paw agreed to meet after they got back from hunting on their own. She had managed to catch four more pieces after her first one, for a total of five. And along the way she found a few things to give out to others, such some mossy bark, a moss covered stone that had been beside the bark and a loon feather, that she had found in some busted when she had been hiding some prey in it. She didn't know if she would keep the feather or not so she planned to ask Brightpaw. |

The medicine cat was surpriesd to see Pinestripe and Ripplecatcher emerge from the bushes. Their eyes widened slightly and they took a step towards the Sunclan cats "Pinestripe, Ripplecatcher." they greeted "What can I do for you?" Ravenwing assumed they were here for the offer that had been extended to them, but it's best not to assume. Especially with the situation being so volatile.

"They probably won't do anything, you're not very old." he mewed, voice somewhat quiet. They reached the entrance to the camp and Koipaw took in a breath and stepped in. Their presence likely wouldn't be noticed right away, so he wanted to track down Emberstar as soon a he could and hope for the best. Maybe they'd run into his mentor and have some backup for facing down the very irritable leader of their clan.

โ๏ธ Pinestripe nodded at Ripplecatcherโs comment. Moonclanโs camp probably wouldnโt be too different. She could feel her body was getting more tired with every step she took. Her paws ached from the heavy kits she carried with her in her belly and she tried her best to suppress her breath from panting, not wanting to worry her mate. While she focussed on keeping her pained body together she hadnโt noticed Ravenwing approaching them. It shook her, so much that the fur along her spine raised in alarm. Quickly she took a few embarrassed swipes over her back, forcing her fur to lay flat again. The medicine cat was no threat; it was actually quite convenient that they met them here. Hopefully theyโd be open to helping them to Moonclan camp. Plus, they were one of the big reasons why she came here. Her initial unease made way for relief. Sheโd be in good paws now. โRavenwing... - I am so glad to see you - I donโt feel safe giving birth without a medicine cat in Sunclan. So we left. I hope Briarstar still wants to help us..โ The queen meowed, her hopeful green gaze resting on the medicine cat. She let out a deep worried sigh. Once the air escaped her mouth she could feel a sharp stab to her stomach. She tried her best to keep her composure; the kits couldnโt come right here, could they?
โ๏ธ Willowsong followed close after the ginger leader, glad to see him eager to go out again. She could remember countless times they had walked along the shoreline, discussing Sunclan stuff as their feet left pawprints in the sand behind them. Hopefully Emberstar would feel more at ease soon. She settled down beside the tom, taking in the view over the water from where they sat. The water seemed quite restless as she looked over, now wouldnโt be a good time to go for a swim. Maybe sheโd have to think of something else for training Amberpaw tomorrow.

Brightpaw
Brightpaw returned a tad later than Flashpaw, practically tripping over his own paws. After his first catch, he'd succeeded in catching six more pieces of prey, three of which were fish he'd caught down by the shore. He had also found some trinkets to give out to his clanmates: a sizeable, curled shell covered in orange-brown patterns, a round, colourful twoleg object with ridged edges and a couple of semi-precious stones. The apprentice looked rather pleased with himself though it seemed he hadn't noticed that a piece of seaweed was still wrapped around the back of his leg. "Hey! It looks like we both did pretty good! Think it's about time to head back and celebrate?"

"Ah, good," Wavestep meowed and sat up straighter. "Go ahead." The tom had now finished off his meal, giving the two warriors his full attention. From the sound of it, Shaleheart and Wolfmist had something out of the ordinary to report. At a guess, he could assume the news was related to Sunclan's recent situation but what in particular alluded him. Hopefully things haven't gotten any worse.

"We came across Swanfeather by the border," Shaleheart started to explain. "She was hunting, but knew better than to cross our scent markers. We got to chatting with her about the situation in Sunclan, and she had some interesting things to share. Still sticking closely to Koipaw's flank, Coyote followed him into his clan's camp. Here, the cat scent was a thick cloud pressing over her nose, and for good reason: Coyote could see quite a few cats, more than she was used to seeing in one place. None of them looked particularly mean, she was relieved to note.
"Um, is there anything special I should say to your leader? Should I be saying anything at all?" As she asked, a few cats looked around at them, their eyes going wide at the sight of her. Oh, frogdung, she thought.

Wavestep grunted, not looking particularly surprised to hear of Sunclan's frustration. "It doesn't sound like Emberstar is going to change course anytime soon," he remarked cooly. "Though, I must admit, I didn't expect cats to consider taking matters into their own paws so quickly." It wasn't unheard of for a clan to depose its leader if they were considered too weak or too cruel to lead effectively, but Wavestep couldn't remember the last time such actions had been deemed necessary. The thought of a coup was more than a little unsettling. "Well, thank you, Shaleheart, Wolfmist. I'll convey your report to Briarstar. It is important that we remain aware of developments on the other side of the island." He gestured towards the prey pile to indicate that the two warriors should eat. |

It was hard to read their expression, but Ravenwing seemed relieved. Delivering kits all on your own without help if something went wrong... that would be scary for her. They nodded "You are welcome in our camp. Briarstar will not go back on her word." they watched her wince slightly and continued "Come. Let's get back to camp and I will better be able to care for you." hopefully they'd be able to get back there without issue.

"Just... the truth. Emberstar is stern, but he took me in. If you have no where else to go, I don't think he will turn you down." Koipaw replied, flicking his tail and gesturing for her to follow as he headed towards the leaders den. Emberstar was many things: proud to a fault, confident, easily angered. But he was also willing to take in cats, and he'd done so for Koipaw when he needed help the most. Coyote would be fine... right?

Hey y'all - I'm so sorry I completely dropped off the face of the earth here . I'm happy to see it's been able to continue as much as it can , and I apologize if my disappearance has halted anything . I've had a lot going on these past few months and it's just been nonstop . Now that I'll have an extra day off during the week , I should be able to get back on here , because I do really love and miss this RP <3 What have I missed ? Anything I need to be caught up on ? I could go back and read through when I have some time but I'm currently at work  ))

Sharpwing pawed at a conspicuous patch of dirt, nosing her way through the soil until she eventually unearthed a fat mouse from her hunt stash. It took a lot of self-control for the hungry she-cat to not snack on the prey herself. Instead she began down the familiar trodden path back towards camp, catch in tow, eagerly thinking about the meal she'd treat herself to upon arrival.
