Hello all, anyone wanna do some lowkey role-playing? Just some low-stress fun? I love writing but sometimes being expected to write a bunch of paragraphs can get tiring, so I decided to put up this little thread. As long as you write more than one-liners, everyone is welcome here! ^^ Let's just have some fun! c:
Setting; Duskclan - a clan set in a thick pine forest deep within a valley. Ashclan - a clan set higher up in the valley, with a more rocky terrain and more streams. Landmarks; Sky Circle - gathering space for the two clans. feel free to create your own, let's world build together. ^^sunnygale molly ; warrior ; duskclan
A sigh escaped the molly as she edged closer to the back of the group, casting her light green gaze around the gloom, wary. Normally gatherings were fun times, full of excitement and gossip but with the tension with Ashclan rising... Sunnygale cast a worried glance toward her leader, paws working the grass beneath her anxiously. She really hoped a fight wouldn't break out tonight. That was the last thing Duskclan needed. The patrol grew near the meeting space, Sky Circle, an opening in the forest that allowed the perfect view of the sky. The scent of the other clan was fresh on the air. Duskclan was the last to arrive. ❖ [ open ] ❖ [ nearing the Sky Circle ] ❖

Flamepelt Tom | Warrior | Duskclan Flamepelt padded along with the rest of the group. He narrowed his eyes as the ashclan cats came into view, but he felt a twinge of satisfaction as he spotted one of the cats who were trespassing a few days earlier. His fur was still missing in a few places and his ear hadn't healed from the skirmish. "That's what they get." The ginger tom muttered under his breath.

The golden ginger tabby swung her head towards the sound of her brother's voice, perking her ears. She couldn't hide a wince as her gaze landed on his wounded pelt, flashes of skin still visible. Sunnygale had been helping clean out the elder's den when the attack had happened but she wished she'd been there to back up her litter-mate. "I hope Ashclan remembers to keep the peace," she murmured under her breath, padding up so she could walk beside Flamepelt. "How's your ear?" the molly asked, touching her nose to his shoulder lightly. The patrol was waiting for their leader to give them the signal - then they'd enter Sky Circle.

Flamepelt Tom | Warrior | Duskclan "I'll be fine." the ginger tom reassured her. "It looks worse than it is." He let out a sigh before continuing. "At least those Ashclan cowards got the worst of it." He flexed his claws, feeling them sink into the soil, before retracting them again. "I just hope Brackentail is okay. Last I saw him, his wounds looked pretty bad and the medicine cat seemed pretty worried too."

Sunnygale smiled tentatively at her sibling's reassurances, trying to convince herself that he was right. His ear looked bad but the medicine cat had allowed him to attend the gathering tonight, so Flamepelt couldn't be too worse for wear. She cast a wary glance at the Ashclan cats. "We can go check on him afterwards if you want?" the tabby she-cat offered, tilting her head. Their leader, Sparrowstar, flicked his tail, signaling for the clan to enter the clearing. "I can feel the tension already," she admitted, picking her way down the slope carefully, ignoring the glares of the Ashclan cats.

[ hi! hope you don't mind i jump in with a few cats for each clan, and if turkey being deputy isn't alright i'll just change him to warrior ^^ ]
- - cinderstripe duskclan warrior
In silence the silver and white tabby followed her Clanmates' into the Sky Circle as Sparrowstar gave the signal for them to enter. AshClan had already arrived, and as she entered the gathering area, she gave a quick scan of the neighboring Clan's warriors that had been chosen to attend as well. Things had been tense between the two Clans, and Cinderstripe had to admit that she had been caught up in some of the rising action herself. A few scrapes from a recent border skirmish still lingered upon her shoulder and neck, but she had been well enough to attend the gathering tonight.
Keeping a subtle hostile eye on the AshClan cats, Cinderstripe took a seat among her fellow DuskClanners. Not too far off was one of DuskClan's newest apprentices, Windpaw. The fluffy-tailed tom looked wide-eyed around the area, looking more curious than tense. Given it was his first time at a gathering Cinderstripe couldn't fault him, but she hoped his curiosity wouldn't lead to trouble. - - - - - turkeyjaw ashclan deputy
AshClan had been waiting for DuskClan's arrival for some time now; Turkeyjaw had even been starting to get worried that the other Clan wouldn't even show up for the moon's gathering. Despite the tension that had been surging between his Clan and the other, the gray tabby hoped that a peaceful meeting would calm some of the aggression that had been swelling in size for some time now. He wanted things to be friendly, and he had been rather disappointed in his Clanmates upon hearing the news of a few of them trespassing in DuskClan territory the other day.
His ears perked up when he noticed DuskClan finally arriving. Despite the tension, he offered a cordial nod toward the other Clan, and even once he had given his gesture of peace, he noticed a fellow warrior, and even a friend of his, Goldenweb, doing the same toward the DuskClanners. The ginger tabby molly had always been soft and friendly, and Turkeyjaw was glad that he could at least rely on her to keep the peace alongside him.

sparrowstar tom ; leader ; duskclan
The weight of his clan-mate's gazes fell upon him, Sparrowstar knew they were looking to him for guidance. It almost made his pelt crawl, his claws flexing into the dark grass. Sparrowstar was a young leader that felt the stress of guiding his clan more keenly than a more seasoned feline might have. Every action he made was severely analyzed and judged, the broad tom constantly awaited for the gavel to fall. He tried to lift his head high, amber eyes finding Turkeyjaw pretty quickly within the crowd. The Ashclan deputy seemed amicable at least, he took that as a good sign that tonight would proceed peacefully. "Good evening," he greeted, padding over to where the other tom stood, lowering his own tabby head in a respectful greeting. "I'm sorry we're late. Our medicine cat was unable to get away due to certain circumstances," Sparrowstar was careful to dance around the subject. An accusation would only cause a fight. dewshine molly ; warrior ; ashclan
So much anger contained in such a small body. Dewshine had her ears pressed flat against the sides of her head, her light blue eyes narrowed. The young warrior didn't even bother to keep her claws sheathed, her sharp talons out and proud. A battle that happened the other day had taken the life of her mother, Palefern. Her wounds had been much too severe for the medicine cat to fix and over what? A patch of trees, grass, and dirt? Territory that Duskclan had defended until the bloody end. A growl rumbled in her throat. The grief was too strong within her tonight, she had no room for chatting and gossip. ❖ [ open ] ❖ [ the Sky Circle ] ❖ newtpaw tom ; apprentice ; ashclan
Oblivious was a good word to describe Newtpaw, though it was only his first gathering. He'd been sick last moon and unable to attend, so all of this was brand new to him. He either didn't notice the tension between the clans or chose to ignore it, as he trotted closer to the Duskclan cats curiously. Their scent was almost overwhelmingly pine up close and the ginger and white tom scrunched up his nose. His tail twitched back and forth, gaze landing on another feline who looked about his age. A Duskclan apprentice? "Hi! I'm Newtpaw! Weird name, huh? My mom said she they were her favorite prey but I think she just wanted to be different. She said she almost named my sister Sassafraskit! Can you imagine?" the tom chuckled to himself, energy practically radiating from his being. "Anyway, what's your name? Are you an apprentice? Do you like your mentor?" his questions were rapid-fire but full of harmless curiosity. ( I don't mind at all, welcome! Turkeyjaw is fine as deputy! ^^ )

Flamepelt
Tom | Warrior | Duskclan Flamepelt nodded. "Yeah. Hopefully he'll be awake when we get back to camp." He followed his sister down the slope, defiantly glaring at the Ashclan cats. He knew that he shouldn't do anything to risk breaking the peace, but at this point he didn't much care. The ginger tom was confident that his clan could handle whatever Ashclan threw at them. "Be ready." He muttered to Sunnygale as he matched pace with her. "I wouldn't put it past these fleabags to break the truce."

- - windpaw duskclan apprentice
Everything about the gathering was...intriguing, if Windpaw could even call it that. His entire body sparked with excitement, yet there was also something more there, something that felt more like longing to him. This was the furthest he had ever been allowed to leave the confines of camp, and this was the furthest he had ever gotten to explore in general. Seeing all these new things and new faces made him want to go out and see more, go and travel even further than he could even imagine. It all seemed so exciting to him. He could only wonder what lay beyond the borders of his Clan.
These thoughts were soon pushed out of his mind as an unfamiliar feline found his way to Windpaw. The silver tabby blinked, eyeing the other young tom with a clueless expression until all the questions and the introduction caught up to him. "Oh, hi! I'm Windpaw, and uh, I like your name." Newtpaw didn't sound all that weird to him, but hey, maybe it was a weird name over in AshClan. "What did your mom end up naming your sister, then? Sassafras are nice flowers." This was a lot to put on him at once, but Windpaw felt like he was handling it fairly well. "And I guess I like my mentor, though it doesn't seem like any cat is too keen on letting me explore as much as I want..." He trailed off and glanced away from Newtpaw, a soft sigh slipping off his tongue. - - - - - turkeyjaw ashclan deputy
Even now the tension lingered. Turkeyjaw hoped that would change by the time the gathering was over, but he knew how severe some of the damage had been. In recent border fights AshClan had lost a valuable member, and the now departed Palefern's daughter was here at the gathering. Turkeyjaw could understand her bitterness toward the other Clan, but he silently prayed to their ancestors that the molly would be able to keep her claws sheathed.
Despite it all, the DuskClan leader approached with calmness. Sparrowstar didn't seem to hold any hostility in his body, and his posture read only as friendly, if not careful. Turkeyjaw picked up on this, yet he met the other tomcat with a gentle smile. "No need to apologize. We still have plenty of time left," he replied, glancing up toward the full moon. A frown soon replaced his smile from earlier. "I hope your warriors are faring well, Sparrowstar. I dislike the current affairs if I must speak truthfully, and I wish your Clan well just as I do my own."

sunnygale molly ; warrior ; duskclan
The molly nodded her agreement, her mind already miles away, thinking about if Brackentail would be hungry and if she should try and hunt him something fresh on their way back to camp - just in case. Sunnygale was brought out of her thoughts of mice and shrews by the tone of her brother. The warning he gave wasn't to be taken lightly, especially if a few muffles snarls that sounded around the clearing were anything to go by. "Flamepelt... you really don't think they'll break the truce... do you?" her own voice wavered uncertainly, her green orbs flashing to peek at the full moon. Luckily it appeared unobstructed, which she knew had to be a good sign... right? sparrowstar tom ; leader ; duskclan
To be completely honest, Sparrowstar had always preferred to speak with Turkeyjaw rather than the Ashclan leader. Surprisingly, the other tomcat was much less hostile than their superior tended to be. A silent sigh built in his chest as he heard the hostile noises over the quiet chatter. At least some of the felines were trying to abide by their ancestor's rules. Though his expression gave nothing away, his amber eyes softened at Turkeyjaw's considerate words. He had been made aware of Palefern's passing and grieved the loss of a good warrior - Ashclan or no. No life was worth some silly spat... "And to you and yours as well, Turkeyjaw. Hopefully an end will come to this, before we lose anyone else," the last part of his statement was said quietly, for the toms' ears only. He straightened then, showing off a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. With a wave of his tail in farewell, Sparrowstar ran towards the single stone that jutted up from the ground. He pushed off with his hind paws into a leap, landing with a solid thump atop the Proud Stone. He let out a loud yowl to gain the attention of the clans below him, his gaze seeking out the leader of Ashclan. The night wouldn't last forever and they both had wounded cats to care for, now was not the time for dawdling. newtpaw tom ; apprentice ; ashclan
Delight brightened his green eyes, so that they almost seemed to glow against his coat. "Really? Some of the older apprentices think my name is odd. I like it though. Windpaw is a cool name, way cooler than being named after some tiny lizard anyway," the Ashclan apprentice joked, his smile so wide it almost seemed to split his muzzle. His paws shifted restlessly beneath him as he tried to remain still, something that was a daily struggle for the bundle of energy. "Oh? She named her Primrosekit - well, she's Primrosepaw now. I just call her Prim, Primrosepaw is a mouthful!" Newtpaw complained, his pout a contrast to the laughter in his eyes. Windpaw was upset about not getting to explore as much as he would have liked and the ginger tabby couldn't really relate. Though his mentor kept a close eye on him, he had always been encouraged to be adventurous. That must be one of the differences between Ashclan and Duskclan. There were always stories that Duskclan cats just stuck to their valley and didn't dare think of what life might be like beyond their borders... In Ashclan cats had full range of the rocky cliffs and open fields and forests that surrounded their territory. There was so much out there, herbs, prey, and more resources than the clan knew what to do with... "Well... that stinks. I'm sorry, maybe you'll get more chances soon? I found a badger set the other day! It was super scary, thankfully my mentor was there," Newtpaw prattled on, tail whisking up dust behind him. The loud yowl from Sparrowstar had the apprentice turning his head, his whole body jumping in fright. "Wow, that startled me! Guess it's time to begin, huh?" ( Sorry you guys, I was finishing up some chores ~ )

- - turkeyjaw ashclan deputy
Hope, with a tinge of sorrow, flickered in the tabby's eyes for a split second at the DuskClan leader's words. One too many lives had already been lost due to this aggression, and Turkeyjaw was hoping to see it come to an end as soon as possible.
Turkeyjaw watched as Sparrowstar made his departure. In response the AshClan deputy made his way to the foot of Proud Rock, settling down in his spot where the deputies before him had sat to observe gatherings.
- - windpaw duskclan apprentice
Windpaw was the type to mostly stay inside his own head. He had never noticed what the other apprentices said about him or his name, and quite frankly, he didn't care. He was much more interested in his own thoughts and his own dreams of exploring as far as he wanted, even if that took him outside the boundaries of both Clans. "Primrosepaw is a nice name. Is your sister here?" Windpaw assumed she wasn't, but he didn't mind continuing the conversation with Newtpaw. He had a lot of energy, but Windpaw didn't mind.
It wasn't until Newtpaw mentioned being able to explore as much as he wanted did Windpaw focus all his attention on the other apprentice. "You get to explore badger sets in AshClan?" He asked, eyes wide. All he knew was that DuskClan cats tended to stick close to camp, venturing further only to mark borders and catch prey in desperate times. "What is it like being an AshClan app-" The silver tabby didn't get to finish his words as the yowl of Sparrowstar cut through the air. "...Oh, I guess so," he murmured in response to Newtpaw.

Flamepelt
Tom | Warrior | Duskclan Flamepelt briefly glanced around for a moment before he heard Sparrowstar's yowl, signaling the beginning of the gathering. The ginger tom leaned over to his littermate. "Who knows? They're mad at us because one of their cats died invading our territory. I don't think common sense is something Ashclan has an abundance of." He fell silent as the clan leaders prepared to speak, though thoughts kept flying through his head, most of which lacked any respect for Ashclan.

sunnygale molly ; warrior ; duskclan
Sunnygale fell still, her body lowering into a state of alert wariness. She had come to the gathering with hopes of peace but her brother's words had her suspicions raised. There really was no telling if Ashclan would decide to take out their grief and aggression out on them. Though, to be fair, it wasn't as though they hadn't lost anyone on their side either. This tension had been between the clans for generations. There were years of bad blood between them. "Oh Starclan..." she muttered, mostly to herself, paws working the ground beneath her. sparrowstar & russetstar tom ; leader ; duskclan
The young leader waited stiffly for a few silent moments, his amber gaze sweeping the gathered cats diligently. Finally, Ashclan's leader decided to step forward. Her petite build and round face could easily be confused as innocence or fragility - both assumptions would get your ears shredded though. Russetstar was a beautiful molly, or she had been in her youth, before the scars and faint gray hairs had encroached on her pelt. Though she neared 83 moons in age, her steps were taken with an effortless grace that had her clan-mates parting before her. Sparrowstar dipped his head in acknowledgement to both her status and her age, a sign of respect. A soft snort escaped the she-cat, her tail flicking behind her before she jumped up beside him, landing much more quietly than he had. "Sparrowstar. For a moment there I thought you and your clan of mouse-hearts had decided not to show," the red furred molly laughed, a sound that carried over the crowd and seemed to bounce off the surrounding trees. Her amusement was clear in those keen green eyes, her tail curling around her paws lightly, as though she had not just offended her rival clan leader. The large tom beside her clenched his jaw tightly, clearly trying to keep a grasp on his temper. Though he wanted peace, no cat rubbed his fur the wrong way like Russetstar and her snide comments. "It's full moon, Duskclan would not miss a gathering," Sparrowstar answered simply, ignoring the jab at his clan, though he could tell some of his clan-mates didn't appreciate this. He stood tall against the weight of their stares, head held high in challenge, daring one of his warriors to speak out against him. "Pity. Anyway, onto business. Ashclan doesn't have much to report. We have had a decent new-leaf thus far, prey has been running well. We are looking into expanding our borders," here she paused, casting a meaningful glance at the Duskclan leader, snickering at the frustration she spotted on his face. She ignored the outraged murmurs from the cats below. "We have two new warriors, Rushingwind and Dewshine. Their mother, Palefern, didn't get to see their ceremony, she was killed in battle two days before..." her words inspired a mix of cheers for the new warriors, yowls of grief and anger, and shocked silence. A glint of malicious intent flared in her green eyes as she dipped her head and stepped back, into the shadows. "That's all for our report."Sparrowstar was left to face the chaos the other leader had stirred, his heart racing in his chest as he cast a glance at the sky. Clouds had drifted closer to the moon, showing the mood of their ancestors pretty clearly. What he'd give for some guidance right about now... With a firm shake, the tom rose his voice above the cacophony going on below. "Duskclan is sorry for Ashclan's loss. Battles are hard on every cat in both clans, there have been injuries and losses to go around. Our new-leaf has been strained, with our border patrols finding evidence of Ashclan passing over into our territory," he cast a stern glance at Russetstar, his tail lashing behind him. "This needs to stop. Duskclan has had the same borders for seasons and we have no plans to change them. If Ashclan wants to widen their borders, I suggest they do so to the west," the tom kept his tone civil, releasing a calm breath. This was a simple solution he'd come up with but he doubted Russetstar would take it. This wasn't about prey or herbs or survival. It was about power and there was nothing to gain from claiming land that was free. ( next post will be a return to scheduled programing(i'll reply with newtpaw and such), there was just a lot to write between leaders lol ~ )

Flamepelt
Tom | Warrior | Duskclan Flamepelt understood his sister's sentiment. The last thing either clan needed was more pain and death, but the increased tensions between the two didn't bode well. Duskclan had managed to avoid any deaths in the recent fight, but if a full blown war were to break out, Flamepelt doubted they'd be quite so lucky. He listened to the clan leaders as they spoke. He admired Sparrowstar's ability to stay calm, especially given Russetstar's poorly guised insults. The ginger tom hoped that, for once, the Ashclan cats would see reason and see the wisdom in the Duskclan leader's words, but deep down he doubted it. Attempts of diplomacy between the clans seldom resulted in any form of peace and, even in the off chance that peace was achieved, it was reasonable to assume that it wouldn't last. "I bet that mouse-heart Russetstar will make some sort of jaded remark and then imply that they were in the right. Typical Ashclan behavior."
