I just found out who it'll focus on and I'm so excited! Spoilers for The Place of No Stars: The main cat is...
Snowtuft!
Snowkit is born in ShadowClan to Ripplestar and Silverwing, and though his father already sees him as weak due to his small size, his mother compensates for Ripplestar's absence by spoiling him rotten. Once he becomes an apprentice however, Ripplestar slowly starts to see his son's worth.
Unfortunately, this is also the same Ripplestar who tried to attack the other Clans at a Gathering. Marshstar decides to go to war with ThunderClan to avenge his leader, but Snowpaw ends up blaming StarClan and finds himself resenting his ancestors for the rest of his life. Eventually, he earns his warrior name, Snowtuft, and strives to lead his Clan one day. But as is the case with these types of villains, the more ambitious he becomes, the more reckless he gets. At some point, even Silverwing isn't enough to reign him in.
When the current deputy Oakstrike dies from illness, Snowtuft thinks it's finally his chance to help lead the Clan, but Marshstar—despite their close bond—chooses another cat, one younger than Snowtuft named Whitefang. Snowtuft tries to be accepting, but it only works for so long and he eventually tries to get his new deputy killed. Fortunately for the young cat, Marshstar and Silverwing catch them in time and Snowtuft is accidentally killed by his own mother. He dies almost instantly and is welcomed to the Dark Forest by his father.
Seasons pass, cats live and die, and eventually, the Great Battle comes and Snowtuft is secretly terrified. Ripplestar becomes one of the casualties, killed by Marshstar, but the white warrior can't bring himself to fight his old friend and mother when he encounters them. And so, he retreats in shame and sticks mostly to himself from then on. Tigerstar, a cat he'd greatly admired and who reminded him so much of Ripplestar, is dead, so what else is there to do except wait to fade away? He's terrified by the idea and is surprised he's lasted this long.
Several more seasons pass, and a certain starry cat comes up with an interesting proposition for the remaining Dark Forest cats, but Snowtuft wants nothing to do with it. He's through with it all, through with being evil. All he wants to do now is try and relax for as long as he can. And the others are fools for believing in this so-called StarClan warrior. Can't they see he'll just toss them all aside once he's achieved his goal? Oh, well. He was never meant to be a hero anyway.
Or maybe he was. Because not long after this does he meet a certain ShadowClan medicine cat. Maybe there was still time to change his fate, if only to apologize to those he had wronged. And who better to help than a medicine cat?
"Hi," he says after he realizes they come from the same Clan. "I'm Snowtuft."

April Fools! But seriously though, because of TPoNS, I really do want a Snowtuft novella now and I hope he gets one in the near future.
