While trying-reading OOTS, I came across something that doesn’t make complete sense to me. In The Fourth Apprentice, Dovepaw gets overwhelmed by the sounds of the Twolegplace while on the beaver journey, and in Sign of the Moon she gets overwhelmed by the Twolegplace on the way to the mountains. Both of which are completely understandable.
But shouldn’t she have been able to hear Twolegplace noise from her territory? I mean, if she was able to hear the beavers, then surely she should’ve been able to hear the Twolegplace that came between the lake and where the beavers were building their dam. The one in Sign of the Moon is explained away by the ridge likely blocking out the noise, which makes sense. But shouldn’t she still be able to hear the Twolegplace along the stream?

they did dovewing dirty from the beginning. they hardly focus on her powers in favor of drama. then they don't keep her power consistent. then in the great battle, her powers aren't even useful and she doesn't contribute anything. jayfeather united starclan, lionblaze just fights good and nothing else, and dovewing....doesn't really do much in the great battle...?
power of three and omen of the stars was a huge mess and this is one of the reasons i point to.

Maybe she didn't focus her power on Twolegplace and instead zeroed in on the beavers? Dovewing's powers seemed pretty unstable in the beginning. Maybe it was more "she heard what she wanted to hear" kind of thing.

The powers seem to require being turned on. Lionblaze oftentimes gets his butt kicked while his powers are deactivated and only starts winning when he engages cheat mode. Dovewing is similar.
