Do you think the Dark Forest cats KEEP the wounds that have killed them?

Yeah pretty likely, I think they were kept as a punishment

i think so. starclan cats can choose a form (even tho i dont really like the "most happy" thing, i wish starclan cats could just choose how they want to look no matter what part of their lives it was). so i think dark forest cats r similar. dark forest cats should be punished to keep their death wounds and scars no matter how much they want them or not. i figure some dark forest cats who are super rotten want their wounds to be seen though bc they're bad apples lol

It's a cool headcanon, but it seems like the DF cats are restored to the prime of their life since Brokenstar is able to see after his death and Mapleshade isn't a feverish mess. Now WHY they're restored to the prime of their life is questionable, but Rock implies that the Dark Forest is created by the memories of the clans. So it's possible that they're remembered as they were at their most frightening, which would be their best rather than their worst.

I believe they do. If I recall correctly, when Ivypool saw Antpelt in the Dark Forest in Sign of the Moon, he still had the scars that killed him.

But it's also said that he looks strong and free from pain, so it seems like the damage is only external, and everything else was fixed in spite of the fact that they didn't heal in life. So while it might be there aesthetically, there is no actual effect.

I believe Snowtuft is noted to have a long scar from nose to tail-tip from when Tigerstar used him as an example of how to kill a cat. Don’t remember which book, though.

This topic reminds me of the comic Starless from DeviantArt. (Really good read btw)
