This is technically the first rp thread to be posted on the WoF board and that's both exciting and kinda sad. Idk how long this board has been up, no doubt not as long as the seekers or survivors boards. if i had read more seekers or survivors or bravelands, i would definitely try and revive those as well with some similar style of rps. but unfortunately, i can't do that quite yet as i haven't read past the first/second book or haven't even read it at all.
Hopefully when i've read more and know more about them, i could try my hand at reviving them if no one else does so before i can.
Anyway, you probably clicked on this cause it's rp, so lets get into that.
Rule's
1. No Godmodding/Overpowered Characters, please don't do this it quite literally ruins the rp for other ppl.
2. No cursing that wouldn't be in the series
3. Be respectful of other rpers, hate the oc not the person
4. take Ooc agruments to Pms/Dms
5. No 18+ Allowed
6. No oc limit, but know your own limits
7. Don't spam the thread with multiple posts, especially if it just one sentence per post.
8. Enchanted items are allowed, but pls follow rule 1 with those aswell
9. Don't kill or harm another person's character without permission
10. Allwings are not allowed as its much to easy to go op with them, this is a temporary rule until further notice.
11. Most importantly, Remember to Have fun
The rule's are subject to change and have rules added.
when joining pls remember to give at least character name, gender and tribes, so i can add them and keep track of what characters are here currently! |

Um.... Uhhhhh.... I've been looking for the Wings of Fire RP stuff (because it has to exist), and it took me a while to find this. I am here now tho. ;w;
I have a pair of characters. It probably won't do much for the RP, but it's a start! 
Canary, male, Sky
Sarcoramphus, Female, Sky
 I did the coloring and a lot of the detail work, but the design is from the official Joy Ang art and the original Photoshop document is from FearlessMist on DeviantArt.

(Yeah, the original line art is by from Joy Ang. The person with the Photoshop version of it just cited the wiki tho so idk what do. So then I think the Photoshop version was mainly just to help with everything being colored consistently? :/ )
Where in the timeline are we starting? ^^;

"So that's why sometimes the ink bleeds though the scrolls. It shouldn't be a problem if they're made right, though. After all, the idea of having-" "Canary, please," Sarcoramphus sighs, "I'm on duty." "This is important! After all, everyone uses scrolls. Plus, it's not like there's a war anymore!" Canary chatters away, not noticing the collective grimace across all of the guards within earshot, "The scrollmaking industry is sure to absolutely shoot up!!" Sarcoramphus does her best to pretend to pay attention to the small, enthusiastic dragon. This would certainly not have been allowed under Scarlet's reign. The worst Queen Ruby would do to an annoying citizen would be to issue a restraining order. Even then, the guards thought it likely that Canary would only carry on torturing some other Skywing with his babbling. The Skywing guard surveyed the dragons going about their day outside of the palace gate, still trying to keep a neutral look on her face. Anything would be better than listening to Canary for another hour.

Pheasant was flying around the sky kingdom, mostly exploring, but she was looking for the familiar red scales of her father. She was visiting since her father's hatching day was coming up soon. She however looked more like a rainwing then a skywing, aside from the shades of red that decorated her scales, from a bright ruby red to a dark maroon; on top of that was bright yellow stripes, which were the only scales she had that could change color.
Eventually she landed nearby outside of the palace gate, she hadn't spotted her father from the air and figured she'd have more luck from the ground.

Sarcoramphus notices a strange dragon land nearby. A Rainwing spy blending in perhaps? No, she doesn't seem to be really interested in the palace or scouting for any particular weaknesses. Still, there is just something off about her in general, even if she is simply a visitor. Suddenly, Sarcoramphus is hit with an idea. Clamping her claws around Canary's flapping jaw, she gives him a stern look.
"Canary, since I can't leave my post, would you mind talking to that dragon over there for me?" Canary turns and looks at Pheasant before nodding vigorously, not missing the chance to speak as soon as his snout is free:
"Wow! She might even know about scrolls! This is a great idea, Sarcorry-" "No nicknames." "-for the longest time I've been telling you that you need more friends-"
"Do not-" "-and it'll be super exciting to meet the new dragon in town! Since we're so close-" "Canary, please-" "I'd be happy to talk to her for you!" "Then go!" Sarcoramphus pushes Canary away from herself, sighing in relief as Canary eagerly bounds over to Pheasant.
"Hello there!" Canary chirps cheerily, "Pardon my curiosity, but you seem to be new around here!"

Pheasant looked over at the voice, her yellows showed a mixture of confusion and curiosity which reflected in her scales as the yellow stripes changed to purplish-orange. "yes, actually no, well kind of new." Pheasant replied, before adding as an explanation. "i usually visit the sky kingdom when my father's hatching day is coming up, only this time he got busy and couldn't meet up with me immediately." pink and green mixing with the purplish-orange made her stripes look marbled and odd looking against the shades of red of her unchanging scales.

Canary attempts to hold back his sudden rush of ideas for color-changing ink. Focus. Meeting new friend.

"I will, if i ever manage to find him and that reminds me of the rainwings, everyone pretty much knows everyone." Pheasant replied with a smile, she knew it wasnt the case in other tribes for everyone to know everyone and it always was odd to her in a way since she been raised in the rainforest. "also thanks for the compliment."

"Oooo yeah! When she was a dragonet they trained her for the Sandwing War of Sucession, and I guess a lot of Skywings thought the war was gonna last longer. By the time she was done with training, the war was over and we had a whole new queen!" Canary looks over at Sarcoramphus, murmuring thoughtfully, "She still makes scary faces at her reflection. Sometimes I even think she wants to fight in a war...well, maybe it's just that she'd rather do anything other than being polite and social."
Sarcoramphus pretends not to notice Canary looking at her, but her frown deepens ever so slightly. Canary was good at a lot of things, but he was abysmal at keeping his mouth shut. Surely he should have reported back to her by now.

"You're probably right. I've never understood why dragons would even go to war! Or not talk to other dragons!! Sarcorry just gets grumpy about her training and the old ways I guess...." Canary sighs heavily, "Sarcorry even signed up to get a breeding partner, but the last time I talked to her about it she really snapped at me! I guess she got paired with some annoying cow of a dragon or something? That's the only thing I can think of. Which is totally his loss because she's very sweet and friendly, all things considered! Yesterday Sacorry only threatened to arrest me twice!!" Sarcoramphus, in a rare instance, strains to hear what Canary is talking about. Perhaps this task was simply beyond him. Perhaps subjecting even a spy or assassin to Canary's ramblings was too unusual a punishment to be considered ethical. Perhaps this was a good thing. Maybe Canary's antics would actually ward the strange dragon away? However, Sarcoramphus quickly changes her mind when overhearing Canary saying parts of her name. Three moons, there must be some way to make him stop telling the potential threat about her! Should she call him back? What if he brought the other dragon right over to her post? Who even was this stranger?? Why did she decide to trust Canary with anything important???

(i just realized i mixed up the pride and confused rainwing colors before- i meant indigo not purplish-orange)
"wait- could you explain the breeding program?" Pheasant asked both curiously and confused by it. "it just sounds odd to me, but i've lived most my life with rainwings, so i don't think i could ever imagine being with a dragon someone partnered me with, like when dragonets do projects together for school." Pheasant's stripes stripes once again changed to a marbled of indigo, blue and purplish-indigo. which to her did not go well with her red scales at all.

"Oh, of course! Yeah, it's quite exciting! Queen Scarlet was a lot more strict with it, but Skywings are supposed to sign up to get a breeding partner, if they want one," Canary tilts his head, "They got records and things. A whole lot of scrolls about lineages and everything! That way there's less chance of inbreeding, deformities, the like. It would be pretty bad if even a few firescales Skywings were born and hatched and grew up and decided to rebel. That would be a pretty dangerous advantage!" Canary laughs, looking suddenly anxious, "Of course, the program is a lot more relaxed regarding potential hybrid pairs, and Skywings breed in secret all the time. It's just not...as well respected, I guess. For the record, Pheasant, you are a lot better off being a hybrid than a Skywing animus. We're required to kill any Skywing animus on sight. Or...at least report the sighting to someone who can."
Sarcoramphus glances around, looking for something to get Canary's attention. She looks around the best she can without moving her head, trying not to let light dance across her helmet too actively. Although...perhaps she should use this light to her advantage. If she could just reflect some sunlight in Canary's face without getting the attention of the stranger, Canary would definitely look over at her. She considered that the strange dragon might also see this and realize Canary was with her, but then again, he was already talking his head off about her. Any subtly or anonymity Canary could possibly possess was certainly compromised. Not to mention, Sarcoramphus is certain that she can leap to defend Canary faster than this smaller foreign dragon can land any fatal blows. Sarcoramphus tilts her head slowly, trying to get the light reflecting off her helmet into Canary's eyes.

Pheasant replied shaking her head at the thought of having to kill a dragonet just for having magic they didn't choose. her stipes taking on a grey-blue color as she continued. "i guess that would explain why my father had me live in the rainforest, in one way anyhow. they somehow manage to be the most accepting and most appearance judging of the tribes." she added in a light-hearted jab at her mother's tribe which held truth, none of the tribes were perfect, just like how no individual dragon was perfect.

"Well..." Canary sighs, "When we learned about animus in other kingdoms, we found it usually doesn't end well...for both the animus and their society.... So...that kinda justified the tradition for a lot of Skywings. That doesn't make it less sad, of course. After all, you don't just lose the dragonet. If two dragons produce a bad egg, they aren't technically allowed to breed, so one egg can affect an entire family! Sarcorry says a lot of groups exist for Skywings that are unable or not allowed to breed and have lost eggs because of it. Personally, I think it could be handled a lot better if-"
Canary blinks rapidly, distracted by something. He shakes his head and looks around quickly before turning towards his guard friend, whose helmet is reflecting a lot of sunlight in their direction.
Sarcoramphus keeps her head lowered, trying not to glance over to see if her plan to signal Canary is working. It was just as likely that she'd accidentally alerted the strange dragon Canary was talking to. That was a risk she would have to take to get Canary to stop chattering about her, though.
(Apologies on the delay. My dog's health has been declining for awhile. It's been a little difficult to not just watch and worry all day, I guess. ^^; )
