I love him. He's the original protagonist.
I also don't get when people call him a gary stu. There aren't real gary stus in Warriors, though some cats come close. Firestar has many flaws.

Fantastic character. His personality became blander from Power of Three onward, but his development in the first series was amazing.

I was never really as fond of him as many people were because of all of the great things he did.
First of all, I liked Bramblestar since he was a 'paw, but Firestar treated him bad because he was Tigerstar's son, which made me mad.
Second of all, I feel he was treated better than he acted, because sometimes other clans didn't want his help but he still gave it. I understand that you want to help, but if they don't want help, PLEASE DON'T MAKE THEM EVEN MORE MAD BY HELPING, which was what Firestar did.
Third of all, he never got mad at his kits, and even though they grew up to be amazing, they didn't learn discipline when they were 'paws because Firestar didn't teach them any. He couldn't get mad at them, IDK why.
Fourth of all, everyone says he is great, but if you think about it, what did he really do besides lead the clans on the great journey? In the PO3 and OOTS he just helped on the side, but the main character's list didn't include him. He helped on the side, but he didn't do much else. I can only see one amazing thing he did, which was unite the clans to take a journey together in TNP.
One way or another, I vote Neutral because I am not for or against him.

Firestar is still my favorite character.
Both him and Tigerstar are the OGs of the Warrior Cats series.

I can only see one amazing thing he did, which was unite the clans to take a journey together in TNP. One way or another, I vote Neutral because I am not for or against him. While it was a bit tiring of Firestar to always be afraid of Bramblekit/paw I can understand his paranoia as he was very scared of what Tigerstar might do to him and thus projected his fear onto the little Tigerstar clone. His relationship with Leafpool and Squirrelflight was also not always positive and Firestar did try and be strict at times but ultimately decided to focus more on supporting them instead of constantly criticizing them. Firestar actually did a lot to deserve his title as hero: During the first arc the major thing Firestar did was being the only one to actively stand up against Tigerstar as he also revealed Tigerstar's crimes and cleaned up the mess Tigerstar had left behind after getting killed by his supposed ally Scourge whom Tigerstar had almost killed as a 'paw. He also helped to drive out Brokenstar the tyrannical former leader of ShadowClan. He brought back WindClan (after they had been forced to leave because of Brokenstar). He saved ThunderClan from the forest fire and the dog pack. He united the four Clans against BloodClan and fought their leader Scourge to his death. We don't see as much of Firestar when the following arcs focus on other characters but he still did many great things besides being one of the leaders to guide the Clans to their new home by the lake. However the most heroic thing Firestar did was defending the Clans against the horrible threat of the Dark Forest and battling his archrival Tigerstar for a final time thus sacrificing himself to end the war between the living and the dead. Firestar is the definition of: "That's Fire!"

He’s definitely not my favorite character, but man I really do love him and I genuinely think he was a really good character, particularly in the first arc. Yes, his personality seemed to become bland after the first arc, but to be fair there was less attention paid to him so of course we wouldn’t see his personality as much. As for interfering too much in the other clans’ business, yes, I can definitely see that. But he had a good heart and he always meant well.
He’s the OG and he deserves all the love.

When I was first reading Warriors as a kid, I didn't think Firestar was all that special, but now, for some reason, I've come to really love him. There's something endlessly endearing about him and I think he's by far the best choice for a consistent Warriors protagonist. I think part of it is the fact that he's a former kittypet; seeing him rise through the ranks and eventually become leader, and seeing the slightly different perspective he brings to every Clan situation, idk it just really makes me like him.

I can only see one amazing thing he did, which was unite the clans to take a journey together in TNP. One way or another, I vote Neutral because I am not for or against him. I understand your opinion but I definitely disagree. The Bramblestar thing is understandable; I personally hate Bramblestar but I understand disliking the way Firestar thinks of him when he's a kit and an apprentice. However, I'm pretty sure Firestar gets over his weirdness by the time he apprentices Bramblepaw? Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly? I don't think it's necessarily a consistent thing for him. Firestar brings an interesting perspective to the Clan cats, I think because he's kittypet-born. He doesn't make decisions as rooted in tradition as the other Clan cats do- which is where I believe his Clan relations come from. I think Firestar's attitude of "let's all help each other" is a fresh perspective, because the Clan cats are often so dependent on tradition that they can't see what would actually be best in a situation. I don't think him not getting mad at his kits is a problem tbh. Like if he was actively shown enabling their behavior, that's one thing, but the books do not dwell on Firestar interacting with his kits, like... at all. It's here and there, but we're left to assume a lot of the details. However- I think the idea that his kits are not disciplined, and it's his fault, is a bit ridiculous. Squirrelpaw is the only one you could consider to be "undisciplined" and I think that's a rather silly way of looking at it, considering her firey personality is just her personality, and it's not a negative thing. And could you really call Leafpaw "undisciplined"? Okay, I think the last claim is the one I take issue with the most. What do you mean he didn't do anything? Did you read the first series? Firepaw/heart/star drives the entire plot from book one, he works tirelessly to expose Tigerstar, get Ravenpaw safe, save WindClan, help RiverClan, defeat Scourge, and the list could just go on and on. If your complaint is that he didn't do anything in the later series, that's because he isn't the main character in those books, his grandchildren are. He's still present, and he still heavily influences the plot because he's the leader, but you can't expect him to be driving the plot entirely when he's not the main character anymore.

Favorite character in the whole series. Reading about Firestar's struggles in the first arc really related to me as a kid, since I was an outcast in my current environment at the time. He was a big inspiration in my life, and his accomplishments in the books are nothing short of phenomenal. Rip Firestar <3
