--- Background Everlight is the name of a remote town whose notoriety is centered around its history of brutal witch trials. At present it attempts to bury the past with a strange fervor. The pre joys mayor struggled to maintain an appearance of amity and acceptance, but the current seems more preoccupied with the ways past and present intertwine... Evmore is the closest city and is likewise surrounded by wildlife. The population is currently on edge, as a series of deaths has resulted in a curfew.
--- Plot Basically, a Vampire King has been mysteriously awakened and has set his sights on the town and nearby city for reasons known to him alone. The few shifters living in and around the area naturally don't take kindly to this and attempt to force him back into slumber- or you know, kill him- but he's steadily amassing his own army of vampires to combat them.
--- Info Kind of open world! You're given a bit more freedom than usual, even concerning the plot! * Shifters can be pretty much anything but you need to make it make sense, haha~ Like if you're a unicorn, you're going to need a good story to make that possible! * Ancient vampires have the traditional weaknesses but are more powerful the modern ones. Modern vampires can be active in sunlight and need less blood, they're only mildly weakened by the sun. * There's a limit on ancient vampires. * Naturally, everyone needs tangible weaknesses! * More to be added as needed!
--- Key Spots * Vampire King Personal Guard * Vampire King Voivode (second in command, not fcfs...) * Shifter Alpha/Leader * Shifter Betas
Of course you can make your own ranks as well! The politics of the shifters can be up to you guys~ Please don't hesitate to ask questions!

-^*-^*-HIS EXCELLENCY, THE KING
The bronze light of a nearly full moon slants through the bare, wickedly curved branches of misshapen trees. They form something of a pentagon within a 'clearing' that is almost overtaken by a variety of thorny foliage- briar and dying rose bushes that cling to the lower half of a rather homey manse with a sagging dirty white porch and ivy-covered walls. The manse is deceptively cute and inviting, with less edges and sheer lines to mark it similar to the more common gothic architecture of Evenlight town. The struggling garden and dreary pagoda were obviously once lush and beautiful; time and the unpredictable weather has not been kind to them. A lopsided violently pink sign proudly declares the homestead to be named 'Rosedale', though the letters are painted over by the whims of local teens. Known to be occupied by a vengeful spirit- or so the local legend goes- Rosedale had previously been frequented by daredevil highschoolers before its most recent occupant came to claim it...Strangely, no one seems keen to visit now despite what would surely be a warm welcome. Rosedale's innocent beauty isn't quite a facade, but it's nonetheless the perfect haunt for a coven of vampires. It has risen in status after all- from a lush summer home to a conqueror's castle. The cover of night is when it sees the most activity, the soundless coming and goings of multiple vampires hidden by the surrounding forest. Many of them aren't exactly restricted to travel by moonlight, but their King is not to be disturbed until sundown and issues orders thusly.
At present, he sprawls in an ostentatious throne-like chair of gold and silk with long legs thrown over one side and his back against the other, swinging one booted foot lazily as he holds up a sheathe of cheaply made stationary from Office Depot- the more expensive Papier had run out- and twirls a cracked pen in his left hand. He has been up since before the sun had even sunk below the horizon, taken with a fervor that made his sleep fitful at best. The scattered shifters of Evenlight are apparently rallying behind more influential members and he's looking forward to whatever they mean to attempt. Of course, it will be feeble and disorganized- they're a thousand years too early to even think fleetingly of opposing him- but it's sure to be fun while it lasts~ He'll try to make it last, as a favor to them for their foolhardy courage. And because he's magnanimous like that~ Such a kind and wise ruler, is he~ A knock on the door interrupts his mirthful laughter and the King attempts to control twitching lips by pressing his pen against them. "Enter." He only succeeds in smearing them with ink, as it has apparently been leaking since he'd absently chewed on it when drafting his address. As such, his subjects enter to find him spluttering and wiping furiously at his mouth, stained tongue stuck out at an angle in disgust. "Yes- ugh- there you are. Blech."
The King then swings his legs into an upright position and reclines gracefully, as if his smile hasn't been extended by a black smear that curves up his silvery cheek. The smile on his lips, however, is both genuine and cordial. His crimson gaze drifts over the assembled vampires with warmth. He has done his best to familiarize himself with every one of his subjects. Current circumstances make him physically unavailable- preparations for conquest aren't easily shirked and he's still scathingly weakened by his centuries of inactivity- but these three he has known to tentatively apply his trust to. "Eliza," Addressed first according to her rank. "We would have you retrieve our wayward Guard, yes? Angelucci has not attended court in seven days. Whether or not this is due to success or failure remains to be seen." There is a short pause between words- he took well to learning English but still struggles to make his words clear through the thickness of his indeterminate accent. Eliza is dismissed with a brief press of three fingers to his lips and the flicker of a smile- a gesture of blessing to one close to him.
The next of his subjects are permitted to move forward with a wave of his stained hand. "We appreciate your prompt response Abbas, Timone. Intelligence suggests that Evenlight has received an influx of lycans. You are tasked with preliminary confirmation. We have reason to believe that they will be actively patrolling at this time. The numbers do not matter, strength will be assessed by the competency of their alphas. We invite you to play with them- kill only if you are in danger. They claim to be masters of combat- violence, at the least. It would be most impactful to slaughter them before the local shifters~" He grins at the thought, exposing wicked canines and a predatory glint in sanguine eyes. "We would like to be present for that~" The King kind of wiggles a bit, giddy, before remembering himself. "Ah, hm. That is all."
He pauses before dismissing them. "We will have you all return safely. Injury is not permitted, especially when one is facing lycans."

(^)(^)(^) VICTOR 'ANGEL' ANGELUCCI
The cloud streaked moon is thankfully not yet full- thankfully, luckily, fortunately- whatever it is. It isn't. And that fact is likely the only reason he's still alive. Oh, he'd like to think it's because of his wit and newfound vampiric abilities- but realistically Angel isn't proficient in either. He's still a pawn. Perhaps an eventual super powered pawn, but a pawn nonetheless. And that is probably why the King sent him out on this...mission. Angel had been a bit excited at first, the opportunity to go to school not for the purpose of going to school? And being a spy to boot? It definitely had the potential to be more fun than the games he snuck under his desk during class. Unfortunately he could only hold onto his naïveté for so long, because reality soon hit him like a kick to the knee. No, it literally hit him with a kick to the knee.
Damp autumn leaves crunch under mud-crusted shoes as Angel slowly makes his way out of the school parking lot. He takes the long route despite the fervent protests of his legs so as to avoid being in shadow for too long. His vampire spidey senses are going haywire, taking in so much information that he can barely even register any ofit. He's pretty sure his pupils are constricting and dilating wildly, his vision blurring from near to far sighted at a rate that is dizzying. He could barely string together the escape plan that allowed him to make it thus far, only realizing belatedly that he's lost his phone and isn't exactly sure where he's going. Hopefully vampire senses include a pigeonesque homing beacon so that he can find someone to...take care of this mess for him. Ah, he's going to be sick... Angel pauses to lean heavily on a pole that is Meant to be illuminating the parking lot but is instead flickering ominously as if he were in a horror movie and is leaning way too far into the 'death chase' vibe. "Breathe. Breathe." The words emerge on an exhale, and then an inhale. He needs to focus. Right. One breath at a time.
Because his life is one great cosmic joke, a clawed hand abruptly emerges from Nowhere- that he could discern beyond a brief flash 'danger!'- and cuts off his breathing by lifting him by the throat. Struggling would be useless and probably result in his spine being snapped, so Angel swings his good leg up to push against the furry chest and take some of the weight off his neck. "Ghha is this...really necessary?"
"'Fraid so," Says an elongated mouth with too many teeth showing in its harsh parody of a smile. Viscous blood is pooling on his collarbones and sinking into the frayed cotton of his sweater. Somehow, Angel is able to focus on the comparatively innocent sensation as opposed to the burning pain in his neck and what must be a half-crushed windpipe at the very least. He wants to say something- something distracting, hopefully- but ends up choking on his blood badly enough that the lycan takes pity on him and drops him onto the pavement. Angel manages to take the fall on his hands, carefully sweeping his legs under him with his still healing knee at an angle that prevents it from touching the ground. They wait patiently for him to clear his throat, and Angel tries not to appreciate the fact too much. They still intend to kill him, regardless. Perhaps he can get them to take him hostage, instead? But then again the King said that he 'will not suffer hostages' and what that actually means is still unclear...
"Are you sure you want me?" He leans back on his uninjured leg and spreads his arms disbelievingly, drawing attention to his very frail-looking human body. "I'm just a student, and I have a math test tomorrow-"
"You won't be the only one, you're just the unlucky weakling we happened upon first." ...Is that meant to be reassuring?! Angel's gaze slides past the shrug of enormous shoulders and fixates on the shadows of more misshapen beasts behind them. A jolt of alarm runs down his spine and an uneasy chuckle emerges from bloodied lips. "I'm kind of flattered, really. But how many lycans does it take to kill one bitten vampire?"
"Let's find out!" More snarled than spoken, and punctuated by a blurred action that he barely catches. Regret! He really regrets his choice of words! Angel 'eep's as he dives under the lunge of a mottled lycan and turns his landing into a sideways roll, coming up on his healing knee with a wince. "Can't we parlay a bit more?! I have valuable information you know! I- ah!" He's forced backward this time, hitting the pavement and executing another rolling motion that allows him to drive his shoes into the wolf's chest and send it flying over him. Angel follows the action through to flip back onto his feet. If he lives through this, he'll be sure to send the vampire that taught him some basic self-defense a tear-dampened fruit basket...blood basket? Particulars later!
"Dead. We want you dead, that other stuff can come later!" Opines one, her tone would be reasonable if she weren't garbling the words with her very big and very sharp teeth.
"No, it really can't!" He backs away as they begin to close in on all fours, open jaws already slavering in anticipation. Okay so he can't reason with them- not that he was doing a good job trying to speak over the pound of his heart in the first place. Angel circles around so as to prevent them from backing him into a wall- or flanking him. Which is much harder than it sounds when there are six. A perfectly even and terrible number. Okay so, escape plan number two. The parking lot is empty. The school grounds are relatively remote- not that he'd run off toward human civilization if he had he chance. Angel can't let any humans get involved and potentially injured...and, if he's honest, he kind of doesn't want any vampires or shifters or lycans to get injured either...He is in entirely the wrong job and on entirely the wrong team. He's also going to die with a literal bleeding heart.
"Why can't we be friends~?" Angel sings under his breath, dipping briefly to withdraw the silver dagger from his converse boot. He's in the process of figuring out how best to use it when a human-shaped shadow disturbs the flickering light of the lamppost.

<3<3<3 LOVE EVOL
The struggling flora of Everlight's surrounding forest is beautiful in the gentle light of the waxing moon. It's also a welcome change of scenery from the bustle and monochrome tones of the cities he frequents. More than twice- more than thrice, even, Love finds himself stopping to appreciate the flutter of a moth or silent sweep of feathers that is an owl in flight. He squats to inadvertently terrify voles back into hiding and strokes bronzed fern fronds or whatever plant catches his eye. It's very fortunate that he can see in the dark! Not as he would in sunlight, but to the extent that he can appreciate the splendor of nature- even in the midst of autumn. Many trees have been stripped bare, but that just means that one can study the way their branches have grown to accommodate them, and they reveal the best places to perch! Love loves people, but his line of work has fostered an uneasiness in open freely accessed spaces, crowds occasionally as well, depending on their nature- but the forest doubles as amazing scenery and a wealth of places to hide. As long as he's careful- anyone else could have the same idea. Vampires come to mind, in this case. He supposes he can't forget that they're the reason he's here...And hopefully the lycans served as a suitable smokescreen for his arrival. He wouldn't say that he's famous or anything- it's better not to be! But one can never be too careful. Donten and the alphas are the only ones to know of his visit. Hopefully it stays that way because he'd Love to catch this 'vampire king' off guard. The shifters don't know much about the king, as they've never personally seen him, but he makes his presence known by sending letters to their known addresses. Apparently he'd declared his presence and intent as a courtesy to the people whose lives he intends to upend. He sounds like an interesting fellow! Love looks forward to meeting him in person, and maybe he wouldn't hide behind his glow sight. At first.
Will the shifters let him kill the vampire king or would they prefer to do it themselves? Hm, well. He doesn't particularly mind as long as he's invited to the party! Love adds a little skip to his step, moving easily despite the weight of his luggage. His tail is still wagging when he makes it to the agreed meeting place: a trio of old cabins facing Etrude's Pond; the secret lake that shifters have apparently congregated around for years. The large holiday cabins have been transformed into separate bases of a sort, though the shifters have yet to put together some official 'force' to combat the vampires' insidious...cabal.
Love skips up the steps of the largest cabin with a grin, already recognizing the strongest scents within. He would have liked to burst in with a dramatic greeting but Ten opens the door and steps to the side before he can. "Ha-! Lo...Hello!" The younger man recovers quickly, directing his lopsided smile at the shorter mystic. Ten's soft peachy gaze hasn't changed in the years since he's seen him, and neither has the style of clothing that he's worn since 'birth'. He moves to close the door with a flutter of his misty haori. "Welcome back, Love. I'm very pleased to see y-" The greeting is interrupted by the thump of dropped luggage and an abrupt hug, Love nuzzling the fluffy star-studded hair before stepping back with a laugh. "I'm so happy to see you too! I missed you! I can't wait to meet everyone! Where are they?!" He tiptoes and cranes his neck to peer around the tall inugami. Donten smiles and folds his hands into his sleeves. "Inside voice, please. I'll show you around only if you promise to help me make tea afterward."
Love narrows his eyes with playful suspicion. Ten only asks him to assist with making tea when he wants him to 'calm down'. Ten always asks him to make tea. "Deal. But you have to make me mochi too."
"Apologies but I'm fresh out~" The inugami responds airily, already heading further into the cabin. "Oh, look. Here's someone you'd like to meet~"

>-<->-<-> Eliza Hamilton -<->-<-> Walking into the throne room Eliza bit her lip slightly watching The king get situated into his chair. Her long red hair was pulled back into a tight pony tail to stay out of her face as she wore the uniform. She raised a brow watching him get situated into his throne before nodding. "Of course Sire" she bowed slightly before walking out of the room and bit her lip to keep in a laugh. She had learned from being brought into the guards-man ship of the King that there is a time and place for laughter, and that was not the time for it. Sighing she ran a hand down her face glad she doesn't wear makeup like most other females. She looked around before rushing towards the weapon room. She started muttering under her breath, "stupid Angel!" She grabbed three throw-able knifes, a sword, and a silver dagger. She knew at some point during this mission she would have to run into some werewolves at some point. That was where he was heading. "It should not have taken 7 f***ing days to get the information..." She huffed out before shaking her head and walking out of the weapon room. She headed towards her room to grab her cloak before she used her speed and rushed out of the castle with her cloak on and the hood up. Eliza headed towards the area where they were last given any information about. She looked around the darkness a little bit before coming upon a lamppost. She glanced over and by chance saw some scuffling going on in the shadows. She narrowed her eyes and started walking towards the fight. She started whistling and said, "Hello?"softly with her voice trembling slightly to act afraid and like a human. She kept the hood up to hide her bright red hair and blue eyes. "Is... anyone there?" She got closer before stopping when dshe saw Angel and a couple werewolves.
"Hello Angel... The king requests you back at the castle you know." Eliza said after a bit of watching the group.

Hirath had followed after Eliza, keeping quiet in the background. She had a red velvet hood on over her guard uniform that hid most of her face. Her black hair was in braids, and her katana was on her hip. She hissed when she saw the werewolves, backing up a bit. Other than that she kept quiet.

Teagan was currently standing over a table with a map of the Everlight on top of it. She was currently planning patrols and trying to figure out what spots would be vulnerable to the vampires. No matter what the humans in this town needed to be protected. This war wouldn't be an easy one and she dreaded the thought of her packmates getting killed. However, they didn't really have any choice.

(^)(^)(^) VICTOR 'ANGEL' ANGELUCCI
--- The lycans sense something before he does and are immediately on their guard, turning their attention away from the hapless teen and snarling at the newly presented Vampire in an attack formation. Angel tries not to be insulted that they didn't see fit to do that for him. It made sense, but still! The lycans apparently can't risk underestimating her like they did Angel. Preoccupied with finding a viable escape route, Angel listens with half an ear while they demand to know what Eliza wants as if they're completely innocent of terrorizing one of the king's guards for a good portion of the night. The lead lycan- not big enough to be an alpha or beta- rises on two massive back legs and sniffs the air again, amber eyes narrowed on the redhead upon reaching the realization that she's blooded.
There's a thick, raspy laugh before the tawny wolf manages to rearrange her massive jaws and teeth into a shape that would allow for easier speech. "A decrepit blood sack, eh? Unlucky for you we have come prepared specifically to send you straight back to hell." They shift closer together and appear to be retrieving objects from the large cloth bags slung across their chests- Angel privately deemed them fannypacks for the Wolf Elite- and he sees this as his chance to escape when Eliza draws attention to him by addressing him by name. Or, well. Nickname.
"Nooo." He whines softly, ducking under a claw swipe and managing to kick into vampire speed. He gets halfway across the parking lot before he falls over nothing and is dragged back by a newly savaged leg. Stupid freaking horror movie vibes. He's not even a blond anymore! Although he probably has the kind of wilhelm scream that parodies the genre... Even though her appearance marked him a valuable hostage, Angel feels some modicum of safety at the sound of Eliza's voice. He doesn't know her personally but he's seen her hanging around the 'throne' room a few times. It's a bit reassuring that she's confident enough to speak normally, and she's obviously armed. He just needs to stay out of her way and not be Too helpless.
He tries for a flippant response to her words. "Oh I know~ Just thought I'd take a few minutes to hang out with the boys..." He eyes the tawny werewolf. "And girls...Cracking open a cold one, haha~"
'It's me. I'm the cold one.'

Teagan isn't immediately available, but this doesn't stop Love from falling into the door with his usual enthusiasm. He'd actually meant to kick it open, as its his preferred way of entering, but Donten had caught his leg mid-kick and upset his balance, causing him to tumble into the room. The inugami catches himself at the last moment, stepping aside to allow his friend to fall. Love takes this in stride, hopping up and approaching the woman with a wagging tail. "Hi! I'm Love, the Alpha invited me to come stay with you guys~ It's nice to meet you Miss Teagan~!"

Teagan glances up from the map and smiles a little. "Welcome and please just call me Teagan." She says as she straightens herself up. She wasn't surprised given the state of things. "Have you come to join in the fight?" She asked feeling curious. They were going to need everyone if they hoped to defeat the vampires.

<3<3<3 LOVE EVOL
"Aye!" He leans a hip against the table and responds with finger guns, his next words revealing a faint Scottish-English accent. "I'll be yer trusty sniper from now on! And y'don't even have to pay me~! I'm here on a favor for Ten!" He winks at his friend and Donten inclines his head in acknowledgment. "Love is an accomplished gun-for-hire amongst humans and shifters alike. You may not have heard of him if you aren't acquainted with the less savory crowds...Still, he is one to be trusted." Love's tail is wagging and his ruby eyes are shining so Donten adds, "Despite how he looks." The young man looks younger with his sable newsboy cap and matching shorts. Love's fey features seem to physically mark him a mere mischievous teen, but a wide mouth prone to razor-sharp smiles and pearly fangs indicate otherwise. What most humans don't see are his equally surprising ashen floppy ears and fluffy tail- currently poking out of the sides of his hat and creating flurries of wind with each wagging movement respectively. A small off-shoulder vest and thigh-high socks reveal that his build is just shy of athletic in a way that belies his strength- not that he often uses it. The cù-sìth are rarely reduced to physical confrontations.
"Oi, this outfit is custom-made!" Love sticks his tongue out in a childish show of pique yet Donten's vague smile remains. "As evinced by the strategic placement of heart designs, yes." He agrees mildly, faintly amused as Love pointedly lifts his tail to indicate the inky heart-shaped mark that earned him his moniker. "It's the brand!"
"Of course~ You'll have to give me the name of your tailor on our own time, there is work to be done." Teasing accomplished, Donten shoots Teagan an apologetic smile before stepping toward the map she had been poring over. "Might I know what you're planning?"
Love bounces over, play-acting forgotten. "I'm ganna need some information too! D'you know anything about the king? Old vampires have old weaknesses, so I brought all my silver bullets and some wooden ones too- they're delicate so maybe not enough...Oh, and crossbows! I know yer numbers are kinda-" He weaves his hand back and forth. "-so you can give 'em to the ones with the best aim. Those roasters're fast but you can stun 'em with a spray of silver first!" He mimes shooting up the far wall with a machine gun. "Even a toddler can hit one or two. I certainly could~!"

Paige looks at the young man up and down wondering if looks really were deceiving. She expected a gun for hire to be intimidating, big and maybe have some wicked looking tattoos. However, she wouldn't doubt her alpha besides she would love to see this guy in action. "Truthfully, I know a little but it's not a lot. I grew up hearing stories about the king but half of it was exaggerated nonsense. I assume sunlight, holy water and items and aside from that garlic I guess?" Paige joked. Who knows maybe they just needed a ton of garlic bread to win this war.
