Hi all, As many of you know I am mid cataract surgeries. All is progressing and I am doing well. My left eye is healing and I can do stuff without my glasses! The right eye is a blurry mess because I am not wearing my ultra thick specs ( right eye is -19) but I cannot wear the right lens in tandem with the surgically repaired left as its like double vision with one image 3x the size of the other! Makes me seasick to the max.
But the left is improving to the point it is actually taking over! I am right eye dominant so its astounding to me. The right eye will be done on the 20th and I am hoping for the same type of results. If all goes well I will see better than I ever have in my entire six decades on this planet.
With luck I'll be back more often and maybe finish my last fic!

My father just had cataract surgery himself. It's not fun, but so far the healing process has been quick! Hoping for the best outcome for you!! <3

It has been a bit rough because I can't wear my right lens with the left eye operated on. Image difference is crazy and doc said I now see like a normal person does out of the left eye! Never knew how small things were in those thick lenses! Feeling a bit anxious and hoping tomorrow goes as well as the other.

Well my intuition was right. Had reason for the extra anxiety.
The cataract removal and lens implant went well but the glaucoma surgery part had a bit of a complication and clogged making my eye pressure sky rocket. Doc had to release the pressure, and put me on a diuretic to keep the eye pressure from going up. It was lower yesterday but not down so on those pills for the weekend til I see him on Monday. Ugh pills make me feel like a wrung out rag-tired and feeling like I have a flu bug! Sheesh and that after 3 negative COVID tests. But that is a side effect-fatigue and tiredness and tingling in the fingers which is making typing an adventure.
Wish he could have put the stent in like he did the left eye. that went well. But the FDA or whoever decided if the glaucoma is bad over a certain level they can't use the stent. Why?No one knows. Its dumb because the stent bypasses the little mesh thing that drains the eye which oftentimes clogs and causes eye pressure to go u up. He cleaned it out but it reclogged and owowowowowwow. Its still all inflamed in there. So this eye will be slower to heal up. Just hoping that eye pressure drops back down! Going to be a longer road this time.
On the up side he said I did great on the pinhole visual test where they check the vision making one look thru pinholes. Even the right eye did well with its issues. So I have hope in a few weeks all will be back on track.

thanks Minted! Slow improvement in the right eye but it won't be fully fixed until I get glasses to correct the astigmatism then I should be fine. But it still is amazing considering how thick and strong my glasses were. Could not wear them now at all :-)

Well eyes are healing well and next week I go for my new glasses to correct the astigmatism and I pray I will be able to drive again. And read. Hard to read, and edit still because my eyes are seeing a ghost double image that is straining my eyes. But when i think about it, I am doing all this without any glasses! before this I had the extra thick coke v bottle lenses, and my doc said I am the most nearsighted patient he has seen in his practice,. I am not surprised by that. A few more weeks and I hope I will be able to do everything I love with no problems!
