b l u e f i r e in camp with toadfur The gentle breeze had stirred a white and gray patched she-cat awake, deep amber eyes flickering open sleepily as sunlight pooled into the warrior's den. She'd been out early, though her nap had left her feeling refreshed and ready for any task at hand. Swishing her plumy tail, the molly gave her pelt a quick wash, salmony pink tongue rasping rhythmically along her soft coat. Once she felt sufficiently clean, the she-cat slipped out into the clearing, letting out a snort as frost crunched lightly underpaw. Leafbare was coming, that was for sure. She trotted forward, pink nose twitching as she inhaled the scent of fresh-kill, though nothing look pleasing. Her amber gaze found Toadfur, sitting near the heap of morsels as she added to it. Flicking her tail tip, Bluefire sauntered over to her, a smile lighting up her features. "Hey Toadfur!" she mewed sweetly, settling on her haunches next to her denmate. "Good hunt?" she inquired, nodding to her catch. Bluefire had been made a warrior only sunrises ago, yet her eagerness and hope to make friends led her to be out-going and enthusiastic. ๐๐๐ฅ
t i g e r s h a d o w in camp with open Twin amber irises glittered from entrance of camp before four large, burly paws carried the thick frame of Tigershadow into view, his dark brown tabby fur stark against the soft frost that littered the foliage around them. He had been out scouting the territory and making a plan for his apprentice, Shrikepaw, though wasn't sure when they'd have the chance to practice any battle moves. The tomcat entered camp slowly, his thick tail swishing lamely behind him as he slipped toward the fresh-kill pile, nodding hello to Bluefire and Toadfur. Snatching up a thrush, he retreated to the edge of the warrior's den before settling down and tucking into the bird. He began plucking the feathers from the bird's breast first, before sinking his fangs into the meaty flesh. He'd cleaned the bones only a few minutes after, tongue swiping along his maw as if he was trying to savor the flavor of the prey. Sitting up, his amber gaze scanned the clearing silently as he searched for no one in particular. { anyone can approach tig! I also have Bella and littlekit }

Evergreentoe with Hailpaw | apprentice's den Evergreentoe was quite the early riser, sometimes a bit too early. He was never really fond of sleeping for long, so being on his paws and having something to keep him busy was more of an enticing proposal rather than sleeping his days away. Maybe it would catch up to him when he would be old, though there seemed to be no chance of it slowing him down today. The deputy made his way to the apprentice's den and peered in, where he noticed several apprentices awaking or sleeping. One that stood out specifically to him was Hailpaw, who appeared to be out cold. I don't blame him, it is cold outside, he thought before slithering into the den. He was not far from his apprentice's nest when he came to a halt, deciding it was far enough to catch his attention. "Hey, Hailpaw, it's time to get up," he mewed softly, hoping that he wasn't too noisy for the pale tom. [ ๐๐๐ฅ | image credit: unsplash ]

Toadfur with Bluefire. [ dฮฑฮนัy ]
The scruffy molly halted her trot to the fresh kill pile halfway to her destination as Bluefire approached. Toadfur greeted the she-cat with an enthusiastic wiggle of her bobbed tail. One could imagine her tail would have been waving rather wildly if, well, she had one. The movement sprinkled droplets with each twitch, Toadfur blissfully unaware that she may have been dousing her denmates freshly groomed coat.
"Bwufir!" She mewed, the grouse still clutched between her jaws and muffling her words. Toadfur loved nothing more than getting to see new faces in the warrior's den and tended to get along well with the younger crowd, so the opportunity to socialize with any newly appointed warriors as "equals" excited her. Maybe it was her immaturity. "Gd mrnin!" She continued, the dead bird wagging up and down with each syllable.
"Oh-" She stammered in surprise, as if she'd just noticed she was still hanging on to her catch. She spat the bird out ungracefully at her paws, wiping a stray feather form her muzzle with a paw. "Yes, fantastic," She continued, normally now. "You should have seen me chasing this thing!" Toadfur paused to nudge the dead grouse with a paw here. "I almost knocked my teeth out on some rocks lunging for it before it took off!" She purred at this last comment, obviously amusing herself by reliving the antics.

Hailpaw with Evergreentoe. [ Sand ]
Hailpaw had just barely managed to fall back asleep, among the clamor and chitchat of the other apprentices (who obviously had no respect for their sleeping denmates). Maybe he would blame Spiderpaw for the noise later, for fun. That was probably an excuse to pick a fight he hadn't used yet. The tom stirred as Evergreentoe slipped into the den, rolling away in his slumber so his back faced the tom as if to put a physical barrier between him and the noise his mentor's entrance had made. Hailpaw faintly heard his name being called, soft and distorted by sleep, like hearing it in a dream or as an echo rolling over the Baying Hills. But... no. He wasn't dreaming. Naturally, this upset him. So, naturally, he responded with a low, drawn out groan. Could he get no respite on the first morning of Leafbare? "Is the sun even up yet?" He grumbled after a few moments, rolling back over in his nest to face Evergreentoe with bleary blue eyes. The tom's tone was supposed to be something along the lines of "fierce", but in his drowsy state the words came out slurred and slow, losing much of their effect. Hailpaw always dreaded Evergreentoe waking him up--not because he held any real hostility towards his mentor; he just got up so early. However, whether it was, in fact, early or not didn't make much of a difference to Hailpaw on this morning. It was cold.

camp; with tigershadow;
Shrikepaw wakes like a songbird; she is loud, frenetic. She moves as if she were trying to wake the neighborhood up with her. She stretches with emphasis. Picks the spot with the most ideal lighting to settle down and groom herself. The pale calico she-cat beckons for attention with every action. Every swish of her tail, every drawn own lap of tongue over paw. She will be the first thing you see when you wake up. Primacy effect. You can't forget her now.
This morning was different, though. The traditionally early riser awoke, as usual, with the dawn. However, rather than strolling around the apprentices den, waiting for someone to wake up and notice her, she decided to take a stroll. Meandering no where. Meandering against the rules, perhaps, as apprentices weren't technically supposed to wander without a warrior. She was large, though. Almost full grown. She could get away with a walk. Her ears were beginning to fit her face, her paws no longer a tripping hazard. She filled in her frame in a way her brother never had. Shrikepaw was becoming beautiful.
She recognized this and reveled in it.
By the time she had finished her walk, the camp had begun to bustle with activity. Shrikepaw had just plucked a squirrel for her morning meal, and settled down to eat, when Tigershadow entered the camp. She had not even noticed he was gone.
Shrikepaw swallowed before speaking.
"Morning, Tigershadow!"
She called from across camp, remaining splayed out on her side, paws crossed, rather than standing up to greet him more formally. "You have anything planned for me today?"

t i g e r s h a d o w { in camp with shrikepaw } The shrill call of his apprentice made the tom start, his massive head swinging in her direction as his amber gaze bore into the calico traces along her fur. She had grown recently, though his observations would be kept to himself; he didn't need the cocky young she-cat thinking all the wrong things. Besides, Tigershadow was much more interested in bettering himself for the clan than fueling the ego of a young Molly. With a sigh, he rose to his paws and began sauntering over toward the young she-cat, whiskers twitching irritably as she lazily yowled at him from across the clearing. The sooner she was taught manners, the better, though the warrior couldn't help but remember himself at her age; trying to jump the highest, run the fastest, and strike the hardest. His ambition had led his paws to become an incredibly talented and strong warrior, though where he excelled in his power, he struggled in his personal relationships. "Shrikepaw!" he barked out, still a few tail-lengths out. Once he was closer, he continued, "Finish that squirrel. We're battle training today, though you won't be sparring with an apprentice. You'll be sparring me." He narrowed his eyes, hoping his plan would light a fire in his apprentice today. She'd been training well, though he often challenged her to push her to be better. He hoped she'd find a mock battle invigorating with him, though he wasn't about to go easy on her. If she wanted to be a warrior and whipped in shape, she'd better start fighting like one.

b l u e f i r e { in camp with toadfur }
Bluefire shied away from the water droplets, though it seemed nothing would get her down today. The friendly young warrior was ready for a cool adventure! Maybe hunt some foxes, or patrol outside their territory, or at least a hunting patrol. She'd been scouting the trees for a nice soft bird to line her nest with, as her moss and bracken was getting a bit tough. The comment about her teeth almost being knocked out made the Molly cringe awkwardly, shaking her head. "That sounds painful!" she spluttered out, amber eyes wide. "Thank StarClan you didn't actually knock them out, though. If you did, you wouldn't be able to eat it," she purred, waving her tail to and fro behind her. Her claws seemed to itch in their sheathes as she spoke, wishing she were out chasing some poor creature for her clanmates. Though Toadfur had already been out once this morning, perhaps asking her to go out again would be rude? Bluefire didn't want to step on any toes, but the thought of going out alone made her fur crawl. It was getting cold and she'd have a difficult time catching prey without another set of ears and eyes. "I was thinking about going hunting," she mewed casually, amber eyes glittering in the early sunlight. "Or perhaps just joining a border patrol, but I don't see anyone leaving or coming back.." she trailed off, glancing around the camp suddenly.

Bumblespots/Thrushpaw - rabbitscar ;;
Bumblespots nodded in understanding at Wildstrike's idea to bring along Thrushpaw. Personally, Bumblespots really enjoyed Thrushpaw's friendship - especially when they were both apprentices, despite Hawkswoop's rather obvious avoidance of the apprentice. When trying to speak on the matter to her father however, Hawkswoop played mouse-brain and acted like nothing was different, but every cat who was around the apprentices - and the apprentices themselves - knew otherwise.
The brown and white tom stretched without any urgency from his nest, taking in the bright, cloudy leaf-bare sky and what little warmth it provided. The nights had steadily grown colder, but this was definitely a rude awakening. Thrushpaw wrinkled his nose at feeling the frost touch the pads of his paws, but nothing could stop the hungry tom from getting to the fresh-kill pile. Unless of course, Wildstrike was looking for him. Thrushpaw stiffened at seeing his mentor directly opposite from him, obviously looking for her dozing apprentice, and very rigidly, he turned back around to go back into the apprentice den. Just as his tail was disappearing though, he heard Bumblespots rat him out. "Thrushpaw! Hey, Thrushpaw! Wildstrike is taking us on a hunting patrol, it'll be good for practice." He sighed at her words, hanging his head. Of course Bumblespots is going too. The molly had a preconceived notion that he was her friend, and Thrushpaw could not say the feeling was mutual. He did not hate her, per se, but he would rather avoid the dirty looks Hawkswoop gave him for associating with his daughter. "...I'm coming..." he growled slightly before turning around and walking over to the two warriors. "You know, leaf-bare is always a good time for longer naps, Wildstrike." Thrushpaw chuckled, an effort to instigate his stuffy mentor.

Hawkswoop - แดแดกส ;;
Hawkswoop was having a difficult time seeing past his blind fury. He felt as though his vision was being overtaken by the red blood spilled on the forest floor by these...thieves. Loners, rogues, whatever cat it may be, this was unacceptable. Hawkswoop wished he could post himself here all night and day to catch them in the act again, but that wouldn't do the clan any good. His breathing quickened, becoming more audible and turning into a growl as his unforgiving, dilated gaze scanned the trees and undergrowth beyond the scene, looking for some sort of culprit and replaying what he imagined the incident had looked like in his mind. His instinctive reaction was to believe it was the same rogues from the last leaf-bare. It was around this time they were here. Perhaps leaf-bare was the time for them to let their presence be known to clans and rogue groups alike. It was not until Hornetstar's question about what he suggested the clan do in response that Hawkswoop snapped out of his state. His claws still took hold of the earth below his paws, tail twitching almost in excitement as if he was going to give chase to this unknown enemy. "Personally, I would set night patrols as well as day ones. They're obviously striking at night, morning patrols can't stop cats we don't encounter." Maybe it was a bit much, but blatantly stealing food was hardly a laughing matter. There was no telling what this leaf-bare would bring, and Hawkswoop would like to have every spare piece of prey available to his clan. "I want to believe it's a mouse-brained loner, but don't forget about the last leaf-bare, Hornetstar." his gaze was fixed on her now, boring into his leader with urgency, a plead almost. What if it was Bumblespots this time? She looked just like Sunspots, maybe it was fate - a twisted, sickening jab from StarClan for betraying his clan.

Spiderpaw with Lavenderpaw. [ โก Bun โก ] Spiderpaw watched his fellow apprentice with masked amusement, as she yawned not once, but twice just while trying to respond. He had to stifle a yawn of his own as he watched Lavenderpaw's jaws stretch the second time around, scrunching up his nose in his effort. No time to rest... He reminded himself, lifting each of his brown paws up in turn to give them some respite from the frosty ground. The chill seemed to be creeping up on him, slowly reaching out tendrils that wrapped around his limbs and threatened to pull him into a wintry abyss. But it was too late to return to his nest--there were warrior duties to be done and mouths to feed. "Have you ever tried talking to Fleetingrain about it?" The apprentice inquired, blinking his eyes a few times to return from his attention to Lavenderpaw, dragging himself from his thoughts. Leave it to Spiderpaw to provide purely logical advice. "I feel like that... y'know, might be something you should experience once in a while. Sleep, I mean." He'd noticed the medicine cat dragging himself out of his den from the corner of his eye, which has reminded him that the clan even had a medicine cat. Spiderpaw felt he hardly saw the tom, normally cooped up, resolutely working in his den. "But prey sounds like a good idea," Spiderpaw nodded in agreement at the suggestion. A warm meal sounded like it would help to get his blood pumping. The tom led the way, desperate to get his legs moving. Reaching the fresh kill pile, the apprentice let out a small sigh, shoulder slumping disappointedly. So much for his fantasy of a warm meal. Everything that was left on the pile from the night prior looked unappetizingly frosted over and the tom shuddered at the thought of biting into one of the frozen bodies. "... I'll let you pick something." He offered Lavenderpaw, not incredibly keen on nosing through the frozen prey. We'll definitely need to do some hunting today... I wonder where Hollynose is this morining.Lavenderpaw - Camp Lavenderpaw's eyes wandered to the medicine cat den as Spiderpaw spoke, noticing Fleetingrain emerging from his den. She shuffled her paws, she always though her condition was normal, Wasn't it? She asked herself, also letting the apprentices words linger in her mind. "No I haven't, but maybe I should." She agreed, she looked back at her 8 moons of life; trying to remember a time she had a peaceful night's sleep, memories of her days in the nursery were brought to mind as that's the last time she could recall her actually sleeping. "It hasn't always been like this though, so I didn't think it was of any concern." She said, not realizing what she was dealing with was in fact insomnia. She looked up from gazing at the ground and her pale blue eyes sparkled at the tom's agreement to some very much need food, she smiled and followed in toe behind the tom. Upon reaching the fresh-kill pile, Spirderpaw let out a sigh she came up besides him and looked at the measly pile they called fresh-kill. Her heart dropped as the all the prey was frost bitten, but it was better than nothing. "Looks like we'll have to eat cold prey for now." She groaned, longing for a piece of warm prey. She nodded, gulping before sticking her nose into the pile; rummaging for prey. At the very center she found a plump vole with the least bit of frost, pulling it out she set it on the ground. Her expression perking up a bit, "Look I found one that's not covered in frost." She smiled, it was their lucky day; although still cold it was better then being frozen she thought optimistically.

(I'm sorry for not replying for several days, something came up unexpectedly.) Evergreentoe with Hailpaw | apprentice's den Hearing Hailpaw groan reassured Evergreentoe about his apprentice being, at the least, alive. Despite it being the first morning of leafbare, the black and white tom was ready to go. He was not going to pass up a fine morning over a dreary, snowy one. "To my knowledge, the sun has been up longer than you have," he teased lightly and glanced at Hailpaw's bleary blue eyes. The sun was covered by a thin layer of clouds, but it wasn't like that would get Hailpaw to move. If anything, it would force him back into his nest. On top of that, there was the uninviting cold which held no mercy against the mentor-apprentice pair. Evergreentoe could live with the cold due to his long pelt, but that didn't mean he liked it. What kind of cat liked the cold anyways? Surely not any cat he knew. Stretching out his front limbs, the deputy took another glance at the pale pelted apprentice. "I think I've given you enough time, Hailpaw. Get out of your nest," he mewed sternly. "I will even let you help me form some patrols if we have the time. Sound good?" Evergreentoe was hopeful that his proposal was enticing enough to Hailpaw. If it wasn't, he'd have to drag the apprentice out of the den like his life depended on it. (Hi hi! So, the whole remodeling thing is being slow but work was honestly kicking my butt with dragging on and trying to hurry and get things for Christmas. I think for the exception of some days, I will be on, especially after Christmas. So now I will go look for that starter Owl made and reply! I'm very much still interested in this and don't plan on leaving.)

hazelblossom accompanied by: stonebelly (แดแดกส ) With a yowl of surprise, Hazelblossom leaped out of his nest. His fur fluffed up to the stars. One eye remained half-closed like he was still half-asleep and the other was wide open. Moss clung to his fur and a wild look of surprise in his eye lead him searching for the thing that awoke him so violently. The words that were spoken to him finally processed in his brain. "Fur-brain?" he questioned with an aggravated yawn. The tom blinked a few times and looked in Stonebelly's direction. "Ah, it's you."
With a shake of his head and a dignified sniff, the tom stepped over his nest, meeting whisker-to-whisker with his Clanmate. "Well, I see my dear Clanmate is unaware of the marvelous idea I had last night!" the ginger tom began, stepping to his right to nod to his now-destroyed nest. Ignoring the mess, he instead went on to explain. "With the change of season, I figured that "hey, everyone will huddle together in the center of the den for warmth" and I simply thought no, not me. You see, it's convenient for me and everyone else to be right next to the entrance because no one wants to be near there and I have enough room to.. avoid some of the smells our fellow warriors have." Hazelblossom leaned forward for the last part of his sentence, explaining in a low voice while glancing around.
He straightened up, a look of pride plastered on his face. "With everyone just being so chummy, they're all going to smell like each other and I'm wise enough to know that some dear kitties do not clean their pelts enough. Plus, the cool air is refreshing, but more of a smell similar to garlic and those weird non-poppy seed looking things that our medicine cats have mentioned before." His eyes were wide and he nodded to emphasize his points. Of course, the tom was truly just too lazy to move his nest. The cold didn't cause too much of an annoyance and he just wanted to sleep after hunting and merely walking all day.
