Collis found his way into his room. Here, he quickly changed into his clothes. The school crest embellished many of the items in the room and in his closet. He slipped on a tie, adjusting it neatly around his neck, he thought to his family at this moment. Collis did not know who his real father was, but his step-dad was excellent and had shown Collis how to do a tie properly. He looked into the mirror after being fully clothed in the school uniform and ran a hand through his brown hair. The boy rounded up his books and placed them in a side satchel, along with other things he would need for class, then he was out of his room. He made his way back to Jane’s and saw her waiting outside. “Sorry, I hope I did not take too long.” He said with an apologetic smile. Collis had the school map in hand and the classrooms had been circled with black ink. “We should have enough time to get to class.” He glanced at the watch at his wrist before continuing ”That is if we don’t get lost.” Collis looked back up at Jane, noticing the way the uniform fit her, it could not compare to the outfit she had worn earlier, but it wasn’t so unflattering. “You look nice.” He offered with another smile, conscious that compliments made people feel more confident about themselves.

Jane smiled at Collis's compliment, and then shook her head. "No you didn't. " She looked him over, seeing the way the tie accented his eyes. "You look nice as well." She looked at the school map he was holding, and looked for their first class, Herbology. "So which way are we going?" she asked.

"Uh, this way." He motioned to their left. "Looks like there's a walkway that connects the residency to Hugh Hall. But we are actually going to the greenhouse for Herbology." Collis followed the path on the map with his finger. The greenhouse was on the other side of the building with the classrooms. He started down the hall and exited into a covered walkway that led to Hugh Hall. The pathway was paved with brick and lined with flowers, it offered shade on sunny days or cover from precipitation on others. They made their way through the building and ended up at the Greenhouse “That wasn’t too hard to find.” Collis said with a curt smile. The class was not full yet and there were empty seats scattered throughout the room. “Where would you like to sit?” He asked, eyeing multiple good spots.

Jane looked around the room, and settled on a spot by the windows near the front. "Here looks good, and we're more likely to get assignments early so we can be done faster ." She walked over, the school shoes making sounds against the floor. Pulling a chair out for Collis, she sat in the next one over. She looked at the whiteboard, noticing that the teacher had not yet written anything on it. She placed her notebooks and textbooks down on the desk, and pulled out an apple, taking a massive bite that echoed throughout the greenhouse .

Collis followed behind Jane and took a seat next to her, “Good choice.” He commented eyeing the clock on the wall, there were still a few minutes before class started. He also pulled out his book for the class and a simple notebook and pen for notes. Collis hoped the first day wasn’t just syllabus day, he was excited to dive in and learn. A loud crunch sounded in the room and Collis turned toward the direction of the sound and realized it was Jane. His eyes flicked to the apple and a small smile twitched at his lips as he remembered her taking some from the tree earlier in the day. If he could recall correctly, this was her second one already. He made a mental note of this, assuming that she must really enjoy the fruit. Collis turned his attention back to the stuff he had laid out on the table, not wanting Jane to feel uncomfortably noticed by her eating. He flipped to the first page of his notebook and wrote ‘HERBOLOGY’ in big and bold letters, his handwriting was square and neat.
Do you want me to be the teacher, or we could skip past the class too, I’m open to anything.}}

(yeah i was wondering about the teacher, I wish we had more people. Sure lol )
Jane finished her apple, and put her arms in the air, aiming for the trashcan. She threw it and it bounced in perfectly , she gave a giggle and then took a pen out of her purse. "Herbology" was written in nice hand writing, almost Victorian looking . She wondered what todays course would hold, other than planting poppies.
She shifted in her chair, it creaking with her weight. Not that she weighed much, just that the school was old. Class would be starting soon, and she wondered when the teacher was going to show up.

Yeah, I know. I keep waiting but nothing *shrug*}}
Almost exactly on the dot, the teacher entered the classroom. The man was in his thirties and wore black dress pants, shoes, and a freshly ironed button-up shirt that wore the school emblem. His red hair was cut short and he had a pair of thin black glasses that framed his blue eyes. The man quickly scanned the room before pulling out a roster and calling off names. ”William? Costanza? Jessi? Collis? Rex? Jane?.... “ He continued calling off names and checking off his list when he got a response from each student. It appeared Costanza was already skipping on the first day. He introduced himself as Mr. Kill and lectured on about the expectations of the class before giving everyone their first project. Each student received a packet with several purple mallow seeds, in case they had bad luck growing anything. The goal was by the end of the class to have grown and harvested from their plant and make an example of one of the many ways to produce a medicinal material from it. Then they were all dismissed with the homework of reading chapter 1 in their textbooks. The next classes would be similar, a basic lecture of the class and then homework, on the first day…
Collis had just ended Physics and was headed to the lunchroom. He scanned the area for Jane and got in line while he waited for her. It smelled like spaghetti was on the menu and Collis was ready to eat. He wasn't sure how well the food would taste here and was hoping it would be good, otherwise he would not last long in this place. Food always had a special place in his heart, especially as a growing teen boy.

Jane was sitting down at one of the cafeteria tables near the back, her schoolwork open in front of her. She didn't notice Collis in the line. There was a plate of spaghetti to her right, barely touched. Her right hand was in a flurry, it was apparent she was in a rush. She flipped through the textbook with her left, stopping on a page to skim it. She quickly wrote down the answers. She finished her quiz booklet and closed it, placing it in the ring of her binder. She looked up to see Collis in line, and waved. She wondered what stories he would have to tell. She took a fork and twirled it in the spaghetti, bringing it to her mouth. Class had went well, exceptionally well. Nothing to out of the ordinary happened.

Collis saw Jane and waved back, he quickly got his food and took a seat across from her. “You are busy at work already.” He chimed, having seen Jane focusing most of her attention on reading and writing. He took a cautions forkful of spaghetti and placed it in his mouth. Collis chewed slowly at first, trying to recognize the flavors in the sauce, which was surprisingly good. “It’s not too bad.” He commented taking another bite, this time with a much larger portion on his eating utensil. “How was astronomy?” Collis asked after chewing and swallowing

"Yeah but I'm not a fan of spaghetti." She said as she stabbed a meatball, blew on it for a bit then took a delicate bite and pushed the plate away. She flipped through her Astronomy worksheet again, double checking she was done while she took another bite of the meatball. "It was good, we got homework right away though." she finished the meatball and put the fork down by her plate. "How was your next class? I forgot what it was? I've been distracted." She pointed to all the schoolwork.

“Oh, I will definitely eat the rest of that if you're not going to.” Collis motioned towards the plate full of food Jane had pushed to the side. The meal proportions were off, and Collis knew his stomach would only be half full by the time he finished what was on his plate. Between the three boys in his household, they would eat almost anything and everything. “I just finished (I don't remember what he was taking either, was it… physics?),” Collis mentioned after he finished his second bite of spaghetti. “Yeah, I got some work from my other class too. I’m just too hungry to think about it at the moment.” Collis placed another forkful of saucy noodles in his mouths. He wouldn’t have been able to do much homework in the dining hall anyway. Too many distractions. There were many students wandering around and being loud. “How do you think in here?” He questioned Jane and motioned to her plate of food, offering to take it off her hands. His plate was now spotless and as predicted, the boy was still hungry, but he wouldn’t forcefully take it from Jane if she decided to eat it instead.

Jane raised her palm to her face to stifle a quick yawn. She pushed the plate towards Collis. "Go ahead, it's all yours." She grabbed a napkin and dabbed at the corners of her mouth, then threw it in the nearby trash can. "I was one of the first ones in here anyway, so I got a head start on the homework in a quiet setting." She looked at him, the smell of the spaghetti powerful and overbearing. At least there wasn't any garlic in hers, not that she was into that myth about vampires anyway. It more or so just made them sweat and uncomfortable. She changed the subject. "So are you thinking of going to that party in the graveyard?"

Hey! Sorry for disappearing there for a moment. I just got back to school, needed some time to adjust to my new schedule of getting up early }}
Collis was thankful for the extra food and happily slid Jane’s plate in front of him. His eyebrows shot up at the mention of the party at the graveyard. He coughed a little as he swallowed some spaghetti and it went down the wrong hole with his surprise at her question. Collis shook his head aggressively. “Absolutely not.” He paused “It’s just not my scene.” He made an excuse and gave Jane a questioning, and partly judging, look “Were you thinking about going?” Collis asked, taking a sip of water to prevent any more coughs from rattling him. Something about being in a graveyard at night seemed odd. Collis also was not a partier by nature, it sounded like a risky move.

(It’s all good don’t worry, I was pretty busy too.)
Jane raised her eyebrows, and laughed. “I’m not much of a partier . I’d rather stay home and read books. “ she took a sip of her apple juice, staying quiet and tapping her nails against the glass. She set it down, and grabbed her pen and sketchbook . She drew a face with some horns, and then set it down. “What class do you have next? I have art. I’m excited because I heard that the have a pottery station in the art room, I’ve always wanted to do pottery.”

|COLLIS-°•.
Collis was relieved to hear that Jane was not going to the part, he wasn’t sure why the thought unsettled him, it just did. Maybe he was nervous that she would have asked him to go. “I have art next as well. To be honest, I’m a little nervous about it, I’m not that creative.” Collis admitted “I’ve never done too many art-like things. I’m glad you are looking forward to it though.” He stacked his plates on top of one another, now that he had practically licked them clean. “They will probably start with the basics though, you know, like drawing or painting or something. I would only assume that pottery is a more advanced skill.” Collis gave a shrug, again not an art master, but he had come to these conclusions on his own.

Jane nodded while starting to stack her books and notebooks. “I think it’ll go well, I heard we’re doing partner portraits.” She smiled knowing he’d probably want to be her partner. She was enjoying her time with Collis. He was a kind young man , and had made her day wonderful so far. She could see herself having many adventures with him. She finished off her apple juice, and stood up gathering her stuff in her arms. Just as she was about to say something the bell rang. She looked down at him, waiting. Although she was excited for her next class, she was even more excited to be getting back to the dorms and going to bed. She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. She pushed away from the table and walked around to Collis side and stood by him as he did his thing . She was bored and tired, going back to school seemed like an excellent idea at first. But now she was regretting the notion of getting up early every morning. She didn’t mind studying though, she found it a great way to pass the time. She looked at him again . “Should we get going ? “

Hey, no worries. It's taking me a little longer as well. I'll try to get responses up in at least a week} BTW, I like your profile pic!}
Collis also gathered his things, although he did not have as much to pick up as Jane. He stood up once she had reached his side of the table, slinging his bag over one shoulder and picking up his trash. “Ahh, yes. I’m ready.” He said walking over to a trash can and discarding the plates. “Partner portraits, I feel sorry for my partner.” He chuckled, half-jokingly as he pulled out the school map for directions to the classroom. Collis led the way to class, at a relaxed pace. Thankfully Jane was tall as well, so he never felt the need to purposefully slow his pace for her. “Have you ever drawn someone before?” He was curious who Jane would have drawn “I would think having to study someone's face would be awkward.” Collis commented, blushing at the thought of having a girl for a partner. The blush deepened as his thoughts switched from any random girl to just Jane. “Umm.. looks like we are here.” He motioned towards a doorway and went through first. He rubbed his face with his hand, attempting to hide the redness that burned on his cheeks. Collis disliked that feature of himself, the blushing seemed almost instant and uncontrollable, it just frustrated him in general that it gave away his embarrassment.

(Thankyou lol ) Jane followed after, and made her way to the front of the classroom. Sitting down by two easels, she set her stuff down beside her and grabbed the piece of paper on the ledge of the easel. It read “partner portraits ts, can be be painted , drawn with various tools. Can be a sketch, abstract, or elaborate. You have two weeks. Pick a partner and get started.”
Jane looked at Collis, a smile on her face. She set the paper down by her stuff, and grabbed a pencil. “Want to be partners?” She asked sweetly, sketching out the date on the back out the canvas.
