“Uh, yes actually I did. My family lives on a small farm so there were more sustainable things like vegetables instead of flowers. We live a very simple life, you could say.” Collis sighed. “You know gardens are a symbol of happiness and salvation.” he was very interested in the symbolism of things and the workings of the universe. “Should we go and visit it?” He suggested nodding in the direction the garden would be. Collis was interested in seeing more of the campus before heading to classes, it was good to know your surroundings anyways.

"Oh wow, vegetables. We had a small vegetable garden, but it was only for the livestock. And I think I agree with that statement. And I'd love to, I was planning on going anyway." She winked at him and softly smiled, careful to cover her fangs. She started off in the direction of the nearest door. She stopped, turning back to talk to him. "We should probably drop off our books first, I wanna pick some flowers for my dorm."

Collis blushed a little at her wink and started after Jane only to pause when she turned to look at him. “Oh, good idea.” He gave her a quick smile, face still flushed. Collis glanced back down at his map to locate the dorm rooms “Lead the way.” He gestured for her to go first as he held the door open for her before following behind her towards the dorm. “I hope your roommate isn’t there.” He said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as he thought back to their encounter earlier.

Jane walked ahead, replying a quick "Thankyou" For him holding the door. She looked at all the dorm doors, looking for her name. She found it, and turned the nob on the door, revealing a medium sized room with an attached bathroom. There was one window and two beds, already made. She went to the little dresser to the left side of the room, opening the drawer and sliding the papers in there. She put her class schedule in her purse, and turned back to face Collis. "Should we go find your room then?"

Collis peeked into the room, first wary of Costanza then curious about what the rooms would look like. “This isn’t too bad.” He stated as Jane put her stuff away. Collis ran a slender hand through his brown hair and nodded “Sure, off to my room.” He said and led the way further down the hallway. When they came across his room, he opened the door, although it took some effort, the wood had swelled and made it stick. The room was very similar to Jane’s with a little arrangement difference. Collis took a deep breath, the space smelled of mothballs and stale air. He quickly put his stuff away and also removed his coat from around his waist. He left it on what appeared to be an empty bed, claiming it as his before shoving any papers he deemed important into his pocket. ”Oh, I forgot.” Collis muttered when his hand made contact with the item he had stolen earlier. He quickly removed that from his pocket and threw it back onto the bed. “Now, I’m ready.“ Collis turned back towards Jane and chewed his lip nervously, hoping she wouldn’t ask about the item.

Jane followed after him, leaning on the door frame of his room. She watched him put everything down, not very interested. She took a pair of sunglasses out of her purse, and put them on. She also grabbed a black scarf out of her purse, wrapping it around her neck. She looked at him, the shaded sunglasses making the room dark. "You ready?" She said as she turned, walking towards the closest door that lead to outside. She walked outside, her heels making contact with the concrete with a slight sound. She noticed an apple tree to her left and she walked over, her heels sinking into the soft earth. She grabbed an apple politely, noting that the smell of lavender was overpowering. She took a bite, the crunch bringing a crisp sweet taste to her mouth. A bit of juice dribbled down her chin, and she took a napkin out of her purse and wiped it gently.

Collis nodded and followed Jane out of the dorms and into the outside. He was curious about Jane’s get up. “Do you burn easy?” He asked, thinking that it was warm outside, he had left his heavy coat behind for a reason and here Jane was putting on a scarf. Collis was used to the cold so the temperature was already uncomfortable for him, maybe he should have brought sunscreen?.Collis observed the girl as they walked, noting her attire and poise, even the forethought of having a napkin in her purse. The tree Jane had picked from did not look like it had any ailments and nothing lurked in its branches and while the apple looked quite delicious, he did not pick one for himself. Collis was a people watcher, he liked to learn from the actions of others. He had 3 older brothers and each had taught him a lesson by going through their own downfalls, ones Collis would be sure to avoid later. “How’s the taste?” He watched her facial expression for some hint at whether the fruit had been a wise choice or not. It was hard to tell though with her sunglasses and scarf disguising large portions of her facial anatomy but Collis was patient enough to wait for a verbal response.

"Yah, it's no good. Even though I'm tan, I easily burn. I forgot my sunscreen. " She took another bite of the apple, finishing chewing before speaking again. "Yeah it's pretty good." She picked a couple more, putting them in her purse. She finished her apple, walking over to the trash can nearby. She turned to him, walking ahead towards some flowerbeds. There was tulips and roses, and lilys and more. She bent down at a rose bush, picking 4 up.

Collis chuckled a little, “I forgot sunscreen as well. We don’t get too many nice days like this one where I’m from.” He gestured to the sky. “I guess I didn’t account for that.” He gazed around the flower beds and picked a few flowers himself, especially enjoying the carnations and peonies. “Do you have a favorite flower?” Collis asked, peering over at Jane as she picked the roses. He observed the girl a few moments longer then sat on the ground in front of a bundle of purple flowers, he touched their petals and breathed their scent, leaning in close to the blossoms.

"I've always had an affinity for roses, my mother used to grow white ones. I always loved when a red one would show up, she'd take her clippers, cut it and hand it to me. " She brought the rose up to her nose, inhaling its perfume scent. She turned to him, walking over to where he was and sitting down beside him. She brought a heavy book out of her purse, placing a rose between its pages delicately.

“Those sound like good memories.” Collis commented with a light voice, again watching the girl as she brought out a heavy book. “How many wonders do you have stored in that thing?” He motioned to Jane’s purse, he was excited to see what other items she would pull out of it as the day went on. Collis turned his attention back to the flowers, which he had determined were hydrangeas “You all are so beautiful, thank you for sharing your colors.” He smiled and sincerely complimented the flowers. “You know, plants need kind words. They enjoy being recognized and if you listen close enough, they will speak to you.” He closed his eyes and stayed quiet for a moment. Nature was glorious and Collis firmly believed in the greatness of mother earth.

Jane giggled, and put the book back in her purse. "just things." She took another apple out of her purse, and a butterknife. She cut it into pieces, eating them one by one. She whispered to the roses by her side. "Pretty babies, I can't wait to have you in my room." She looked to Collis, a thoughtful look on her face. She touched a finger to her lip, then moved it away. "You said there was a cemetery? I might have a relative buried here."

With a small smile Collis listened to Jane as she spoke. He opened one eye and peered at her whilst she made comments to the flowers. Both eyes popped open when Jane mentioned she had a relative buried in the cemetery. "What?" Collis asked, surprised that anyone would know anyone from the cemetery here. "You seriously have a relative that went here?" He stared at Jane in amazement. He hoped he would live beyond these walls and not be imprisoned on the god forsaken land that this school rested on. Being trapped here even after death sounded like a new kind of hell. "We could go check it out, I guess. I wish my brother was here. He's a little more interested in the death topic than I am, but I will try my best." Collis shrugged and stood up off the ground, picking up his flowers aswell. He offered his hand to Jane to help her get up. "Which relative are you thinking passed away here?" He enquired.

"Yeah they died in some sort of boating accident, no details kept very hush. She would have been 94. She died in 1936. She was only 16. Her name was Great Aunt Veronica. " She looked at him, aware she had been droning on. "Sorry I now know that bothers you, I won't be long there though. I just want to put a rose at her grave."

“No worries, Jane. I’d gladly accompany you.” Collis offered the girl a smile before pulling the campus map out of his pocket. “It looks like the cemetery is behind the school little ways, probably don’t want that site at the entrance.” He commented with a frown. “So did your aunt go here? How did she end up buried here if she died boating, I wonder.” Collis asked then remembered the details were on the down-low “I guess you may not know all the details.” he added, running a hand through his brown hair. Collis placed the flowers he had picked into one pocket of his pants and a hand rested in the other.

"Yeah I think its just a memorial headstone. " She said quietly. 'yeah she did go here, it was her first year." She started walking, taking out the map out of her purse. She looked at it, tracing her fingers along the path. She looked and him and stopped, aware that he was not following yet.

Collis’s eyes met Jane’s when she looked back at him. He gave a small smile before walking to her side and continuing on their way. “So does trouble run in the family?” Collis teased, knowing that this school was meant for rich troubled youth. “Not that I’m judging because it definitely runs in mine.” He let out a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his head.

Collis easily matched Jane’s pace as they walked and stayed by her side. “Brothers are rather troublesome.” He agreed, knowing his sister would say the same thing. Collis glanced down at his body and then over at Jane. “I may be able to blend in, but you on the other hand...” He trailed off, eyes wandering her outfit. Collis was already wearing slacks and a collared shirt, even though the colors were all wrong, they were probably closer to the dress code than what Jane was wearing. He nibbled his lip as he thought for a moment, “We’ll just go to the cemetery and be on our way back. Hopefully, no one will spot us. If they do, we can just claim we were lost.”

Jane nodded, continuing her brisk pace. they made it to a gravel road, and Jane grimaced. She wasn't wearing the shoes for this. As her heels sunk into the dirt and rocks, she made sure not to show her discomfort, nearly tripping three times. The air rustled through the leaves in the trees, throwing her long coat up by the flaps. The breeze was cool, a sign of the upcoming fall.
She made it to the iron gates of the cemetery, turning to look at Collis as she opened the heavy gate. She looked at the rows of headstones, peace in her heart knowing that her aunts memory was peacefully laid to rest here.

Collis did not mind the breeze, it felt nice. He was not used to this warm temperature and was looking forward to the winter already. Collis scanned the cemetery that spread out ahead of him, it was not large, but still decently sized. He had just faintly noticed Jane's struggle to balance in the gravel and made sure to be at her side to aid in case she actually bit the dust. Collis followed Jane through the iron gates, touching the bars and muttering “A sign of strength.” He scanned the headstones looking for the name of Jane’s great aunt and followed her steps to the grave site. Here he laid one of his carnations on the grave, honoring her life alongside Jane. “May she find peace.” He said and looked over at Jane, giving her the time she needed to mourn.

Jane set the roses down, kissing her hand and pressing it to the cold stone. She stood up from her crouching position, and turned away from the headstone and Collis. She wiped one tear away, from under her sunglasses. She turned back, moving closer to Collis and taking his arm she murmured. "Should we go now? I think classes will be starting soon."

Collis felt heat crawl back up his face once again at the physical contact but accepted it. He was not well versed in interactions with women besides his sister who he did not consider a woman. He had stiffened a little bit though managed a nod “Uh, yeah. Do you know what class you have first?” He started back towards the dorms remembering that they still needed to change. He was conscious to walk at a pace that was comfortable for Jane as they were still on gravel. Collis looked over at Jane again, just a glance, before continuing on the path, thinking to himself about the girl next to him.

Jane fumbled in her purse for her class schedule. she skimmed it with her well manicured finger. "I have herbology first, then Astronomy. Then its lunch. What do you have?" She was excited about her classes, and hoped they would go well. She had been waiting all summer for this, and she was going to make the most of it. She looked at Collis, getting more curious about him with each minute. She went into her purse, rooting around for her bag of caramel treats. She grabbed two , holding a hand out to collis with the sweet on it.

Collis thought for a moment, he had already memorized his class schedule. "I have Herbology first as well, but then I have Physics." He commented, glad he would already know someone in his first class. He watched as she pulled more things out of her purse. That was incredible. He was even more amazed when Jane pulled out candies. His mouth fell open and he felt himself salivate at the thought. Collis composed himself quickly though and gently took a candy from her open palm. "Thank you." He said politely and unwrapped the caramel as if it were gold. He gingerly placed it in his mouth, closing his eyes as he relished in the sweetness that filled his mouth. "Mmm" He let out a small moan. "That's good." His family had hoped Collis would get over his candy addiction here with the limited sweets meal plan, but that was not working out so far. He had already smuggled in several bags of their homemade butterscotch, and he had made a friend who appears to have also brought treats. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad afterall.

Jane studied Collis for a moment, sucking on the sweet caramel treat. She put the bag back in her purse, not wanting to gorge. "How do you think physics will go? I also know that today we'll be taking back purple Mallow seeds. They're known for the protective capabilities. It's always good to have herbs on hand for things like that. I had been hoping for aloe vera or something but Mallows are cool too." She talked around the caramel treat, the sweet juices making her mouth water even more. They had started walking back towards the dorms, and they were nearly there. She had gotten used to her heels sinking into the gravel and it was easier with Collis on her arm.
She had seen him blush earlier, and it had made her giggle a little, bringing a slight warmth to her face. It had seemed as though Collis hadn't been around girls much, that was apparent when she had taken his arm.

"Physics? I don't know." Collis paused noticing Jane's lingering eyes, he responded with bigger words to hide his nerves "I think it will be interesting to learn about the workings of the world. Especially if I apply my knowledge of spiritual understandings, it would be an intricate pairing of sciences and perceptual beliefs." He stated strongly, science was his strong suite be he didnt try to flaunt it, most of the time. "Oh, arent those called poppies?" Collis asked about the flower seeds. "They arent native to my country but I believe I have heard that name before." He added.
They had reached the dorms and Collis opened the door for Jane before following through himself. He walked her to her room, remembering where it was at from their last visit. "I'll get changed and then we can meet in the hallway, if you want to walk to class together." He suggested.

"Alright sounds good." Jane said as she closed the door. Constanza wasn't in the room and she was thankful to not have to deal with the younger girls antics. She opened the closet door on her side of the room with a flourish, revealing many hung white dress shirts and grey vests. The school crest was on a black jacket with a hood. She opened a drawer to reveal ties and clunky black boots. She opened another drawer to reveal white socks with the school crest on them. She hurried to get dressed, messing up her hair in the process. She looked in the mirror , then opened her suitcase and grabbed her hairbrush and a tie. She put it in a messy bun and put her sunglasses on the dresser. she hung her scarf up in the closet.
Once she was finished, she smoothed a hand down her skirt then grabbed her purse and school notebooks. she then opened the door and waited by it.
