there was a thread about this a while back but i just realized i have a couple phobias. they're pretty normal and i don't plan on going on the ellen show so she can give me a panic attack so i think i'll be fine saying these
megalophobia—fear of extremely large buildings, vehicles, objects. seeing large buildings and stuff gives me anxiety acrophobia—fear of heights, technically the fear of falling from heights but i will not go up high, i do not look over railings or out windows when i'm high up. that's a no go, we're not out here dying bathophobia—fear of depths. caves, trenches, the depths. fear. i can not even look at a picture of the marianas trench without getting scared. this is not an invitation.
another one which is pretty rare i think, nephophobia, which is the fear of certain clouds. mammatus clouds scare the shit out of me. it's not just their appearance though, it's that they signal impending doom. mammatus clouds appear when there's a dangerous storm nearby. looking at hurricane clouds or dark clouds also scares me. i think it's because i was a meteorology kid, and i got those big books with the huge pictures of hurricanes and stuff, whenever i turned to a page with one i'd close the book and put it far away from me. these are mammatus clouds, put in a spoiler for any other people who have the fear:

uh is that a tornado in the middle of that shelf cloud probably. asperatus clouds, mammatus clouds, volutus clouds, and murus clouds all act as warning signals for severe thunderstorms and/or tornadoes. shelf clouds i'm pretty sure are directly attached to the stormclouds, while roll clouds are separate but nearby.

I have an intense fear of strong winds. Only if they are to the point of creating a tornado.
Off topic but, am I the only one who thinks a tornado watch should mean that they are watching the tornado, and that a tornado warning would be warning you that a tornado is possible? Just me?

I have a fear of ants, wearing dresses in public, and older men I don’t know. Same for all of these! The dress thing is more of a self-conscious nervousness for me, but I feel that. Also the older men thing is so real. It's hard to explain to my male relatives or guy friends, but it is so real. As a young woman walking alone in public, it is a serious concern, especially since I am living alone so no one knows if something happens to me. It's not very likely, but it is still an all-too-real possibility.
I don't have any actual phobias, but my fear of ants is pretty bad. If I see one I get very wary of the area, but two or more makes me want to evacuate the area. They're just... eek. I can't deal with them.

No, watch means theyre watching to see if the cloud formation will produce one, warning means theres one actively touching down.

My dad would always tell me that he’d see older men look at me, and he and his family would tell so many **** stories that I became petrified.
