Wolfstar couldn't help but purr. "You will, once an apprentice has finished their training they stand before their clan as I grant them their warrior name. Gaining your warrior name is a huge honor within the clan and something that every apprentice looks forward too. Work hard, listen to your mentor and most important is to not give up." ( malruth Hawkeyes258) Moss perked his ears forward at that, "I can't wait, thank you Wolfstar." He glanced over to find Nightfang, but couldn't see the black tom anymore. "Where is Nightfang? Should I wait for him to come back?" He glanced eagerly back up at the grey cat. His mood then changed drastically when he realized what the leader had said earlier, "How hard will it be for me to fit in..?" Although no stranger to being excluded his whole life, he didn't want the clan to exclude him either. Pikebreezes' purrs grew louder upon the affection of Nightfang, and she returned a gentle lick to his cheek. "Kits may be a topic of discussion in the future.." She murmured, her eyes reflecting remnants of pain, yet joy and comfort at the same time.

"No need, you will most likely start your training in the morning." He could sense Moss's change in demeaner and lets out a small sigh. "Difficult but no one will out right attack you. They may just try and intimidate you." He turns his gaze to the apprentices den for a moment before looking back. "However, in time they won't see you as a threat. Not every cat is suspicious of outsiders. Want me to walk you to the apprentice den? That will be your new home and you can introduce yourself." ( c o u r a g e)

( Hawkeyes258) Moss purred in agreement, and got to his feet with a heave. He started to trot off, but looked back shamefully at Wolfstar, "I have no idea where im going." His ears perked forward in a sheepish way and he waiting for Wolfstar to catch up. Difficult... he said. Well, I'll show Wolfstar I'll bring the most kill back in one day when I'm done training!

(I would love too ) Wolfstar chuckles softly before leading the way. He reaches one of the log piles and notices that Rainpaw was nearby. "Rainpaw! I would like you to meet Moss. He is going to be your new denmate." Rainpaw looks at Moss curiously before straightening herself up and waving her tail at him. "Hello there!"

( Hawkeyes258 ) Moss trotted after Wolfstar where Rainpaw was, he stared at the smaller cat with curiosity, What do I do? His claws etched the soil and he cleared his throat, "Hi, Rainpaw was it?" He paused curiously, "I'm Moss." A purr rumbled low in his chest, and he sat down as if not to get too close. Retracting his claws, he continued to stare and look around the den. He had always preferred sleeping out in the open, these dens reminded him of his time with the two-legs.

Wolfstar nodded his head before walking away.
Rainpaw reminds quiet for a few minutes before speaking. "Where did you come from and why did you want to join the clan?" She asked feeling curious. Wasn't every day that an outsider joins the clan. Rainpaw knew some cats wouldn't be happy but Moss didn't care. Long as Moss was loyal.

( Hawkeyes258) Moss watches Wolfstar walk away then swiftly turns his gaze back upon Rainpaw, "I am- I mean, I was a rogue. I roamed the forests, the lake, the two-leg place." He paused, his purr ceasing, "But I'm just as happy to be here. Wolfstar was kind enough to allow me to join the clan. I suppose you'd want to be friends?" He lifted a paw, and drew it to his chest in a manner of curiosity for the smaller she-cat. His ears flicked back and forth, but his gaze remained focused on her.

"I would love too!" Rainpaw said happily. She liked making new friends and preferred those who weren't mean or snooty. "Oh, since your new I bet you have a ton of questions." She knew there was so much about clan life that could be rather confusing. "I can do my best to answer it!"

(Pikebreeze and Nightfang are two cuties!)
Gail nodded approvingly at her ‘right paw’. This was exactly the reason why she had appointed Smoke as second in command. He thought things through, just like she did, and he often offered her well-founded advice. “Alright, you go keep an eye out for them. But only if you foresee it ending poorly on our behalf you should interfere. I want to give those two our trust.” The white she-cat meowed and followed his gaze to the cats training in the clearing. The rogues weren’t aimlessly fighting anymore, most of them even knew some ‘warrior’ moves and how to deflect them. Cloudfoot had taught her how to fight back in the day so she could protect herself if she ran into someone hostile. Now she would use the same moves in her bid to destroy his clan. “When you return come see me to discuss the next step.”
———————
Vicky had met Phoenix’ gaze for a moment as she scrambled back to her feet. Phoenix had surprised Poppyfall with her sudden attack, so Vicky took her chance to charge into Briarclaw at full speed, claws unsheated. Both cats rolled on the forestfloor and Vicky tried to hook her claws and fangs into the brown tabby’s pelt. “Go run back to your mommies.” The black she-cat sneered and jumped off the warrior to stand near Phoenix. The clearing that had been undisturbed moments before now reeked of blood and was littered with tufts of fur.
Poppyfall hissed in frustration as she cashed in a few unexpected blows from Phoenix, only managing to duck away from the last blow. She eyed the two rogues with pure hatred and was ready to jump in again when she heard Briarclaw. Her friend was right. The rogues fought dirty and unrelentingly. It would be best to back out of the fight but Poppyfall didn’t want to accept that they couldn’t win from two simple rogues. Where had they learned to fight like this? As Briarclaw was the more experienced warrior Poppyfall would follow her lead, signaling with her tail to the other warrior that she was ready go.
—————
Scorchtail and Pearmoon were sitting in camp, chatting with some of the other warriors. At Moss’ arrival their gazes curiously followed the small tom. “A newcomer!” Pearmoon exclaimed exitedly. It had been a while since the clan had accepted an outsider to join the clan.

Nightfang paused and looked at her, a serious look in his eyes. “I would love kits one day,” he mewed, “but I won’t put you in danger. It is fully up to you.” He told her softly with a gentle smile. Briarclaw huffed as she quickly ran off, checking to make sure Poppyfall was following- and that the rogues hadn’t followed them. As soon as they were out of sight, she slowed and panted. Her side was now extremely bloody, her dark brown tabby fur clumped and darkened. She sighed and sat down, closing her eyes. “Are you... alright?” She asked Poppyfall. Smoke dipped his head, slowing slinking out to go monitor the rogue she-cats and see if they had succeeded. As he padded out nearer to the twoleg camping grounds, he purred as he saw Phoenix and Vicky standing proudly with a plump squirrel. So, they had succeeded. ( c o u r a g e)

“Let’s head off. Those cowards haven’t seen the last of us.” Vicky grinned triumphantly at Phoenix. The squirrel was just the icing on the cake as their first raid turned out to be a great success. Now the clancats would spread the news; the rogues were not to be messed with. Many attacks were yet to come. Vicky’s fur itched with excitement, and probably still some adrenaline.
Poppyfall panted as she skidded to halt next to Brairclaw. She nodded softly as she took some time to catch her breath. “I’m okay.” The gashes on her flanks burned and fresh blood still dripped from scratches on her cheek. Besides the physical hurt, her pride took a big blow today. It wasn’t like she hadn’t lost a fight before. This time just hit different for some reason. “How about you?” The russet she-cat eyed her friend with concern, she looked just as battered as she did. And they didn’t even get to keep the squirrel..

“Well done, both of you. Gail will be very pleased.” He told them, glancing between both she-cats. “Take the squirrel and show it to her. I’m sure she will reward you for your bravery today.” Smoke flicked his tail, turning to move back to camp.
“I’m... fine, I guess. Tired and angry.” Briarclaw scoffed, rising to her paws. “Let’s grab our prey and go back to camp. I want to rest.” She growled, padding off to head to the river.

Poppyfall sighed as she raised to her paws. “Hopefully Swiftleap can patch us up quickly.” She meowed as she followed after Briarclaw. When they arrived at the river she dug up the fishes they had caught earlier and she tried her best not to think back to the fight. It had been too calm too long and now they were back to fighting off mangeridden savages daily, as they were moons ago. She had a bad feeling about it. Trying her best not to wind herself up more she grabbed the fishes in her jaws and waited for Briarclaw to return to camp together.
Vicky beamed at Smoke’s praise and followed after him, padding besides Phoenix. She had scratches and gashes but the euforic feeling numbed out the pain. Oh how she couldn’t wait to tell the others!
Gail had assembled a few hunting patrols for the night. Now she just waited patiently for the others to return and give her the information she hoped for. Hopefully nobody got hurt too badly - except for the clancats - but she knew little could go wrong with Smoke right by their side to jump in as some kind of safety net.

Smoke led the cats back to camp, setting his sights on Gail and making his way over to her. “We’re back. They were very brave- gave those clan cats a serious scare. And stole their prey. They won’t bother us for a while yet.” He purred, taking a seat next to the white she-cat.
Briarclaw dug up her fish, padding back to camp. Her eyes were narrowed the whole time, her fur bristling with anger. How could she let the rogues beat them like that? They should have been able to handle them- were they not strong enough to truly defend their clan?

( malruth Hawkeyes258) Moss furrowed a brow at Rainpaw, his excitement growing; "Are you hungry?" Climbing to his feet now, he circled Rainpaw, nudging her playfully in the flank. "I can kill moons worth of fresh kill!" He puffed his chest out proudly, eyeing Rainpaw now to see what she had to say. Meanwhile, his stomach rumbled and he could hear cats moving around the camp outside of the log den. Pikebreeze purred at this, kits! oh how wonderful... Reflecting his concerning look, her eyes quickly glazed over with delight. "I'll be alright." Nuzzling him, she added "You should probably start working with Moss. I suppose before he gets into trouble."

Poppyfall’s stomach formed a knot as they came closer to the camp. She didn’t want to face her clanmates, she didn’t want to face Wolfstar, she just wanted to be left alone. The only company she’d want right now were Swiftleap and Briarclaw. Her tail hung low in defeat. They surely would have to explain what happened. But hopefully they could make it to the medicine cat den without being disturbed and talk to Wolfstar afterwards.
Gail’s golden gaze lit up as she took in the information from both cats. “Well well well.” The she-cat chuckled. She expected her rogues to do a good job but this had gone beyond her expectations. She would’ve loved to see the surprise on those arrogant clancat’s faces. “This is great news. You two did a terrific job.” The white she-cat eyed both she-cats in front of her. “You can share your ‘prize’.” She said, referring to the squirrel. “And take some good rest. You deserve it. I’ll call one of the cats to look after your scratches.”
Vicky just stood next to Phoenix and beamed proudly at her story. She had nothing to add. At Gail’s suggestions she nodded gratefully. It was time to regain their strength so they could be ready for the next time. The both of them had established themselves in the group as forces to be reconed with.

Nightfang nodded, giving Pikebreeze one last comforting lick before padding off back into camp. He noticed Moss and moved next to him. “How are you settling in?” He asked, tilting his head. Smoke watched the she-cats take their prize, and when they disappeared from his view he turned to Gail. “How do you want to move forward? They’ve proven they can handle the clan cats.” He pointed out with a flick of his tail. “I suggest we lead a raid on the camp. Destroy their supplies. Steal some of their pray. Maybe give the leader a scare.” Briarclaw glanced at Poppyfall as they neared the camp entrance. “Hey. I’m proud of you. You did really, really well today. I know this was a bad loss, but there is no one I would have rather had by my side to fight with them. Don’t take this loss too hard.” She commented, gently nudging her friend as to not hurt her. “We’ll get them back. And we’ll be ready.” ( c o u r a g e)

( malruth) Startled, Moss turned around to meet the black tom's gaze, "I'm alright." His ears flicked forward and his stomach rumbled, he looked up at Nightfang with a hopeful gaze, "When can we eat? Can we hunt?" Though lanky, the tom still was short of the black tom's height. He puffed up his chest in attempts to look bigger. "I was just telling Rainpaw how great a hunter I am!" even though the majority get away, I can still catch them if I try!

Nightfang chuckled, shaking his head. “Okay, let me teach you a very important rule. In the clan, the kits and elders eat first. It’s to pay respect to the elders, and to keep the kits strong and healthy. Now, lucky for you- we have no kits right now and both elders have been fed,” he said, getting to his feet and stretching, “which means we will get to hunt, and you can eat when we get back to camp.” After he finished stretching, he flicked his tail and beckoned for Moss to follow. “C’mon, let’s see these hunting skills.” ( c o u r a g e)

(Robin, Scorchtail could run off to warn Mystic after seeing Poppyfall and Briarclaw if you want ) Gail gestured for another rogue to check out the two she-cats that had returned from the raid. She nodded at Smoke and thoughtfully narrowed her eyes. “Yes. That sounds like a good plan. Though, I want Phoenix and Vicky to have time to recover first, their aggressive nature would be great for a camp raid.” She meowed, shifting her gaze to Smoke. “Let’s hold that off for a few days. We can taunt them some more first.” Her feathery tail curled over her paws. “I suggest we go hunting in the same place as they attacked the patrol. The clan will obviously increase the amount of patrols there. Then I want to attack them all the way on the other side of their territory. Where they won’t expect us to be. Maybe we can spy on their camp a little as well. That way we won’t walk into a beartrap full of so-called-warriors.” Vicky trotted after Phoenix and took a seat next to her, giving her wounds a few brisk licks. “That was fun.” She commented as she inspected her pelt for dried up blood. “I wonder how the clancats will react when those two return.” She grinned. Poppyfall nodded gratefully. “Thank you. You did great too and we work really well together - as expected ofcourse. I couldn’t ask for a better friend.” She smiled lightly and touched her head softly to Briarclaw’s flank. “Let’s run off to the medicine cat den.” She meowed and picked up the fish, feeling a little better before walking into camp.

( malruth - I updated your cat info on the other thread) Beaming with excitement, he barely heard a word Nightfang said and leapt out of the log pile to follow him. "We'll bring back moons worth of fresh kill!" He purred, trotting after the black tom. "Where do we start?" I have so many questions, this clan life is unique. Though not as great a hunter as he talked himself up to be, he only ever had to feed himself. Bringing kill back to share was a lot of responsibility and for starters, he didn't even have a tail to use for balance.

(That sounds great, Jade)
Pheonix nodded enthusiastically as Vicky joined her. "Indeed, I bet they'll be surprised. We've left them alone for too long," she mewed, taking a bite of the squirrel. She had missed taunting the clan cats, though she understood why they had paused. Making sure the rogues were prepared training wise was important and even better when they could surprise the warriors when they came back. "I hope I can go on another raid soon; it's a nice change to hunting and training all the time."
Mystic lay cleaning in the clearing outside the siblings' den, pausing often to look inside at her sleeping brother. She had promised him that she would stay in the clearing while he slept, but the gray and white she-cat's paws were itching to take a walk. Slowly, she stood and padded around the clearing, sniffing at the bushes every once in a while to check for stray prey.

(I’ll wait for them to run into camp)
Vicky nodded in agreement at Phoenix. “I know, I can’t wait either. I bet the clancats will try to come in with the big guns but this time we’ll be more matched to their skill.” She meowed and took a bite from the squirrel. This prey tasted better than the prey she had eaten the last few days, maybe because it was caught on ‘better’ territory or maybe because of their win. It tasted great anyway. “I really hope we could settle on their territory after all this. With the streams and the rich forest. Prey should be plentiful and plump like this squirrel.” After another rogue came to inspect their wounds, she willingy let them be treated with some herbs and poultices. It wasn’t much but it was sure to help them heal better.
