(Ooff sad post. Poor Screechfang 😭)
”You’re right.” Blazestorm sighed with relief. It was out of his paws now. He could finally rest. No more pain in his back leg, no more sleepless nights because he dreamed of his mate. She was right there with him again. It gave him comfort. Their kits had grown into strong, independent warriors and even though they still had a lot to learn he trusted that they would serve Tempestclan the best they could. He followed after the she-cat to their final destination. Leaving his earthbound days behind.
———-
Poppyfall felt her heart sink as she had made her way back into the clearing. The red fur laying in the pool of blood betrayed that one of her family hadn't made it and it wasn't Scorchtail.. Her legs buckled a few times under her as she made her way over to the familiar scent of her father. His fur was matted and stained. Griefstricken she fell down at his side. There was no energy left to her. This was the final blow that made her break down. She buried her nose in his fur, silent tears rolling down her cheeks. They didn't have the best relationship. The last moons she'd just been cold and distant with him. She regretted every word she said but she regretted the things she didn't say the most.
————-
As the rogue Scorchtail just fought with escaped from his claws he let out a frustrated growl. He tried to chase after them for a brief moment but it was no good. They left the battlescene with the apprentice. Starclan would have to watch over him now. Defeated he slumped back into camp. He wasn’t ready to face the sorrow and raw grief of losing his father but he had no other choice than to be confronted with it. And the worst part was that Pearmoon wasn’t even aware of it yet. It would devastate her. He made his way over to the nursery, his head hanging low. “The battle is over. You are safe.” He informed Snowfeather and Pearmoon. “Snowfeather, I.. I don’t think you should take the kits outside..” The tom gave a defeated sigh when he faced Pearmoon, who tilted her head questioningly. “There is no good way to tell this.. Blazestorm didn’t make it.”
————
Pearmoon stood up from where she was sitting with the queen when her brother returned. She was glad to hear the battle was over and they had been lucky that the rogues didn’t target the nursery. However, Scorchtail wasn’t as relieved as she expected him to be. Something was wrong. Scorchtail’s following words reached her in slowmotion. She shook her head in denial. “No, no. No. That can’t be right. N-no.” The she-cat uttered while she fought back the tears that started burning in her eyes. She had to see it for herself. This couldn’t be true but why would Scorchtail lie? She moved past the red tom into the clearing. The scent of blood and mud hit her fresh in the face. Once her pale green gaze fell onto Blazestorm’s lifeless body it felt like the ground under her dissolved. Everything was spinning around her. “No!” She screamed, tears now running down her cream-colored fur. Her throat closed up as she wanted to scream again, this time no words left her maw.
———-
Gail watched her group of rogues walking past her with pride in her golden gaze. They did well today. She closed the group from behind, smirking as she cast one last glance at the Tempestclan camp entrance. Her muscles ached from the beatings she had taken and her wounds itched and burned. But the feeling of euphoria after their victory burned brighter. Surely the clancats would come for their pesky clanmate. She wasn’t planning to kill him; no, he will return to their clan after a while. Not before they had their way with him though. She fell into step next to Pumpkin. “We taught them a lesson today they won’t forget soon.”
—————
Vicky felt optimistic as she walked back to their camp behind the group that held Eaglepaw. She had a mouth full of herbs with her, knowing it would be of good use after today. It still annoyed her that the little clancat had played her on her weak point but there was no time to be down. It was time to celebrate; their mission had succeeded. She’d get that tiny fleebag next time.

"That was a rough one." Rock remarked as he walked with the others. "Still we got the jump on them didn't we?" He said to no one in particular. He couldn't wait to tell his sister about what happened during the battle.
Snowfeather's eyes widen in surprise as the news sinks in. She didn't really know what to say and decides to rise to her feet and press herself against Scorchtail. She had always enjoyed Blazestorm's company and considered him to be apart of her family. Rosekit looks on confused by what was going on. She did notice how roughed up Scorchtail looked. "Daddy are you okay?" She asked.
Falconfrost managed to convince Screechfang to calm down at least a little with the promise that the rogues would regret taking him away. Screechfang stared at the ground and shaking slightly. "I can't lose him, I just can't." He mumbled softly to himself. Losing his mate to the rogues had been bad enough but the thought of the rogues hurting or even killing Eaglepaw killed him even more.
Oakpaw relaxes a little when he feels the lick on his shoulder. He moves his paws away to look at Silverleaf. He could smell the blood on her fur and wondered if she was okay. He remained silent for a few minutes before deciding to talk. "A-Are you okay?" He asked his voice soft.

Silverleaf’s ears perked up at the sound of Oakpaw’s voice, “I’m fine.” She said quickly, but she then raised her head to look at the apprentice, her ear twitching. “You shouldn’t mumble or no one will hear you.” She mewed, a slight scold to her voice, though it was much more light hearted than usual. She almost added that Screechfang would hate to find out that Oakpaw was being so soft spoken, but she held her tongue, remembering that Eaglepaw is-was his son. She then gave Oakpaw a nudge with her nose, her affection more natural than it had been. “I’ll be okay.” She added, her voice unusually soft. She could see a bit of herself in Oakpaw. The day she lost her mentor she felt so useless. She lost someone dear to her and delayed her training all because she had made one deadly mistake. She was sure Oakpaw was feeling something similar. She opened her mouth to tell him it wasn’t his fault but she hesitated, unsure on if it was the right thing to say.

Pumpkin trotted next to Gail as they made the small trip back to their camp. Her body throbbed each step she took, but pride filled her mind. “We did, and now what are we going to do with the cat that killed Jax?” She asked Gail, their plan worked perfectly, but what now?

Scorchtail felt defeated in multiple ways. He was grateful for Snowfeather’s comfort and leaned into her for a moment, just closing his eyes to let the events of the day sink in. When Rosekit came up to them he opened his eyes again and gave the sweet kit a lick on her head. “Not really. But don’t worry. I’ll be okay again soon. I promise."
-----
Pearmoon fell down at her father's lifeless body and started grooming his matted dirty fur. Violence was never the answer and this proved it once again to her. Her stomach had formed into a hard knot of grief and anxiousness. What if more battles were to come? She couldn't handle more losses. She could hardly handle this.
-----
Gail flicked her tail behind her. She had given the situation much thought, what would be an appropriate punishment for a low life like him? “Killing him would be an easy way out. I want him to suffer and live with what he did.” She meowed, glancing briefly over at Pumpkin to read her expression. “I was thinking of suggesting Ollie to have his way with him. Do to him whatever he wants to help him process his grief - except kill him. But I’m not sure whether that would be the right way to go about this. Maybe we should leave the ‘confrontational’ part to us two. I think there’s definitely some space to give Ollie more closure though.”
------
Vicky hummed in agreement to Rock. "I wonder if they'll come for their pesky clanmate." She meowed, her gaze still locked on the struggling clancat as he was dragged along. They were close to their camp now.

Xenia listened closely to what Sunny was telling her. She never told anyone in the group that she wanted to learn more about fighting, but she wouldn't be upset with any advice given to her. Part of her felt a bit happy that she was getting advice, it means that there were others who wanted her to improve as well. "How do you tell how old a cat is? I can meet a cat my age and they will likely be larger." Her tail flicked towards the murderer "How old is Jax's killer? I really can't tell if he is younger than me or older." She mostly just used him because she was more aware of the ages of the other cats in her group. At least as far as she knew, she was the youngest.
(not sure how old ollie is, didn't see his profile on the front) (sorry for the delay with the reply, work kicked me in the butt the last two days)

Sunny nodded as she spoke, Xenia was correct that she was much smaller when compared to most cats. “Never go by size, it can be deceiving. I was the size of most full grown cats by the time I was 6 or 9 moons.” He mewed. If he had been any smaller, he might not be alive today; his size made most hesitate to make him a target. He then studied Eaglepaw for a moment. “He’s younger than you.” He added with confidence. “Look at his face compared to mine, it’s much rounder, especially around his muzzle. You can also tell by the size of his paws and head compared to the rest of his body.” He turned his head to give the white she-cat a good look of his face. “Voice and scent are also factors; body language too.” Sunny knew how important it was to pick out such details. He often stole from the young and old when he struggled to survive at the twoleg place- he had been quick to learn how to tell if a cat would be likely inexperienced and trusting. “It gets harder to tell once a cat is full grown, but age and experience don’t always go hand and hand anyways so it’s important to play attention to many different factors. I learned that the hard way.” He flicked his torn ear as he spoke, motioning to the V-shaped nick.

(He's up front just labeled as one of the rogues anyone can claim. However, I'm getting attached and actually curious to see where his story goes.)
Wolfstar closes his eyes as he takes a few minutes to compose himself. He had to briefly push his grief to the side and look strong for everyone. "Today, we have suffered a great loss. Blazestorm was a good cat and an even better friend. He will be missed by all but remember that he watches on from Starclan. We will remember his memory and honor the legacy he left behind."
He pauses to allow his words to sink in. After a few minutes, he begins to speak again. "Unfortunately, Eaglepaw was taken in the chaos. Rest assured we will be getting him back. Right now, we must mourn, rest and heal. Later on today, I will chose a new deputy to take Blazestorm's place. For now, go see Sageflower for your injuries and give Blazestorm your goodbyes." After that, he turns and trudges to his den. Right now, he wanted to be alone.

"I'm okay just a little shaken." Rainpaw mewed as she decides to sit down. "Did I do good?" She asked her tone hopeful. She mostly stayed out of the fighting except for that moment to help her mentor. Sandfeather dipped her head at the apprentice, “you did awesome, I’m proud of you.” She mewed to Rainpaw, who had always found ways to impress Sandfeather.

Pumpkin listened to Gail’s ideas as they approached their camp, also thinking of her own ideas. She knew that Ollie deserved to have his way with the cat that killed Jax, but then he gets to walk off free? “Can we discuss this more, in private maybe?” Pumpkin mumbled to Gail, hoping the others didn’t hear her. She didn’t want to kill the cat, but would Ollies punishment be enough?

( It's fine rat ) Xenia frowned, looking between Eaglepaw and Sunny. She could see what he was talking about, and after it was pointed out she could tell that the other cat was younger. She was concerned about not being able to tell once they were full grown, but she really didn't push the issue too much. She figured it was something she would learn as she fought more cats. She would probably still treat any cat she was fighting as more experienced than her, but she was glad to have a few more ideas for those fights. She would have to spend a while thinking of ways she could bring psychology into something that was so physical. She wondered if she could use her small size to her advantage in that way so she could make a cat take her less seriously. She felt that was something that would be more useful as she got better at fighting. Xenia could tell that she was leaning more and more of her weight on Sunny as their trip back home went on, so she was glad she could see the camp just ahead. "Do you think we will have a meeting when we get back?" She hoped not. Their conversation had done a good job distracting her for the walk home and now all she wanted to do was to lay down in her nest and sleep for the next moon.

(Ollie was something of the same age like Eaglepaw I think? Don’t worry about it Rat!! You can jump in wherever you want ^^ )
“I think that would be best.” Gail nodded at her right paw, this issue demanded more discussion between the two of them. The punishment to the clancat had to be severe, or the other rogues would be dissatisfied and take matters into their own paws. So they had to take everything into consideration before seeking out confrontation with Jax’s killer. Maybe they could even get some clan information from him, that would be a nice extra. “Make sure they place the clancat in an empty den, guarded by cats that still have energy left. Meet me in my den after.” She meowed at Pumpkin and fastened her pace to get to the front of the group as they trickled into camp. “You all did great today. Our mission succeeded and I’m proud at each and every one of you.” She raised her voice at the group. “Now take the rest you need and deserve. Vicky has some herbs to patch you up if necessary.” She added while she glanced over the group. They looked ragged and tired but in a good mood nonetheless. Content with the events of today Gail turned away to her den, where she finally dropped down. Her muscles ached, her pelt itched and she was tired. While she waited for Pumpkin she better get herself presentable again. Mud clung to her long white fur along with crusted blood, both her’s and her opponent’s.

By the time Sunny had went to answer the younger cat’s question, they were already almost to camp. Being far back in the group due to their their pace, Gail had spoke as soon as they had entered. “There’s your answer.” He purred to the white she-cat after Gail has finished speaking. He then glanced around camp and pin pointed Vicky’s location amongst the crowd of cats, only now noticing the herbs she was holding. “There’s Vicky,” he motioned with his muzzle towards the brown she-cat, “Do you need me to walk you over there? Then you can rest up.” He offered, not bothered either way.

Pumpkin nodded at Gail so that the she-cat knew she heard her. Her sides ached from the clan cat throwing her into the ground not once, but twice. Thinking back to the fight she wish she could have killed that pitiful cat, she was so close. She suddenly regained her focus and remembered she needed to get a pair of cats to guard the clancat. Glancing around looking for someone well enough to guard. Pumpkin slowly padded to Sunny, “sorry to interrupt but are you well? If you are, I need you to get the clancat into a den and guard it for me. I will guard it with you after I speak with Gail.”

Xenia listened as carefully to what Gail said as she could. Her mind kept wandering to her nest, but she felt like she grasped the basics of it "I guess that did" She mused, her eyes wandering around the camp trying to find Vicky till she was pointed out to her. It was perfect timing, too as Pumpkin approached. She silently gave a nod to the two older cats and went off on her own to Vicky, she felt a bit unbalanced, but the walk was short enough to not cause any issues.

Sunny gave Pumpkin a knowing smile when she approached, he had expected her to order him around but not so soon. He glanced to the she-cat that was still using him as support. “Sorry, looks like you’re on your own.” He told her, when he felt he was she was steady on her feet he stepped away. “Oh Vicky, we need our lovely medicine cat over here!” He called to the brown she-cat his voice purposefully too friendly and sweet, hoping to get some kind of reaction. He then looked to Pumpkin, “The rat’s with Ollie, eh?” He asked, making his way towards the younger tom. He he reached Ollie, her crocked his head to the side and stared at Eaglepaw for a moment, giving the cat a fake smile when their eyes met. “Sorry Ollie, Pumpkin asked me to keep an eye on him for awhile.” He told the cat, ready to grab the apprentice by the scruff and carry him to where Pumpkin has requested. The cat looked tired and weak, Sunny knew that it there would be no issues aside from maybe a scratch or two.

Rock hurries over to Amber who was giving him a worried look. "I made it back and we came back with a prisoner!" He said motioning with his tail over to Eaglepaw. Amber briefly glances over at the clan cat before looking back at him. "Rock your bleeding! You need to rest." Rock wanted to roll his eyes but decides against it. "Fine fine I'll go see Vicky."
Oakpaw gives a weak chuckle and goes back to being quiet. He closes his eyes wishing this was all just some bad dream. "Do you think anyone will blame me for what happened?" He asked opening his eyes to look over at Silverleaf. "We never wanted this to happen! We just wanted to help the clan!"
"Thank you!" Rainpaw said feeling pride and a little bit of embarrassment. "I bet that rogue is crying to the others about how we beat him." She said jokingly.
"If possible I want you to look at Screechfang first." Falconfrost mewed as he walks over to Sageflower. "He may need a poppy seed or else I think he will slip out of camp and get himself killed." Sageflower nodded her head slowly to him. "Give me a moment. Anyone who needs treatment please form near my den!" She called out before turning and going back into her den.

“Oh I’m sure!” Sandfeather exclaimed, she was relieved to be in one piece.
Pumpkin dipped her head at Sunny, “thank you.” She was grateful she didn’t have to fuss with any of her group mates, they seemed to all respect her and she gave that same respect back. She watched as Sunny made his way over to Ollie and the clan cat and then made her way to Gails den. “It’s me.” Pumpkin mewed as she quietly entered the den to find Gail sitting facing the entrance. Her mind starting to run with the ideas she had thought of earlier, “I just want to say that I know those clan cats will be back for their camp mate, but what if we make that pest believe we are going to make him stay and live the life of a rogue?” She huffed a half laugh, thinking of the embarrassment of a clan they were. They wouldn’t come for him for days.

(Made silverleaf’s mentor and drama llama) Name: Leafshine Physical Description: A red tabby she-cat with a white patch on her chest and unusually long whiskers. Her eyes are a deep green. Age: 36 at time of death (deceased) Personality: Leafshine is an outgoing and kind cat. She often places the clan before her own needs. She is known for being incredibly gentle and often dreamed of having kits of her own. When she didn’t have duties she would often do apprentice tasks to help support the clan. She often struggles with insecurity in her abilities and can be too loud and friendly towards some cats. Her happy-go-lucky attitude often got her in trouble. Rank: warrior (StarClan) Crush: none Mates: none Family: open Background: Leafshine was born and raised in the clan. She was always known for being eager but reckless as an apprentice. She matured a lot as she had grown older and was determined to help the clan as much as possible, which caused her to often be over worked. She was very happy to finally get an apprentice (Silverpaw) and tried very hard to break the apprentice’s shell. Eventually the two formed a very close sisterly bond. She often worried that Silverpaw was working too hard but said nothing as she worried it would make Silverpaw upset with her. This resulted in her often spoiling her apprentice. She died when the two were attacked while on a patrol. Screen Name:anividche

(I feel so guilty for this, sorry Oakpaw :,( )
Silverleaf looked at the apprentice as he spoke, her gaze fixated on the younger cat with widen blue eyes. “Cats die. What’s done is done.” She said, snapping at the younger cat, his words reminding her of the accident. She then shifted her body, should she tell him about her mentor? Surely that would comfort him knowing that another cat had made a deadly mistake. She couldn’t bring herself to do it, fear of her image being tarnished once again flooded her judgement. She wanted to say something comforting but she noticed the pale grey light creeping into the den being blocked by a figure. Her ears perked as she looked to Sageflower, the medicine cat must have heard everything. Her ears briefly flatted to her head in shame. Wordlessly, she stood, limping past the medicine cat and back out into the rain. She stood outside the den for a moment, “I’ll come back after I’ve washed off.” She muttered, just loud enough for the older cat to hear. She felt angry, her fighting, her ability to comfort her clanmates, all were filled with flaws and mistakes. She padded towards an overhang and sat on the dry ground beneath it, cleaning her pelt from the blood and mud.
Sunny nodded to Ollie, but said nothing. He leaned forward and picked up the apprentice with relative ease, the cats toes just grazing the ground beneath them. “You are heavier than you look.” He mumbled through a mouth full of Eaglepaw’s pelt, carrying the cat to a secluded area of the camp. The tom dropped the younger cat with a surprising amount of care, not wanting to injure the cat prematurely. He then sat down beside the apprentice. He was more worried about the rogues causing trouble than the poor excuse for a cat beside him. Though he still sat in a way the both the entrance and Eaglepaw were in view, not wanting to take chances. “So” he mewed, dragging out his words to fill the silence, “What should I be calling you? Don’t clan cats all have weird names?” He asked, he knew that he may get scolded for chatting with the prisoner, but he couldn’t help but see what Eaglepaw had to say. Surely Gail would be fine with some lighthearted teasing.

(spent some time trying to figure out what to do with Crowpaw, I think I got a good idea)
Crowpaw managed to get through the battle relatively fine. He felt a pang of guilt, not only did many of his clanmates come out of the battle with heavy injuries, Blazestorm was dead. He felt angry and wanted to scream. He really respected the older warrior, he felt like the deputy was a good cat. Now the rogues had gone and killed him. He wouldn't forgive them for this, not anytime soon. He felt he should do something in the aftermath, though he really had no idea what he could do. He wasn't a medicine cat apprentice and wouldn't even be able to know the first thing he could to to help in that aspect. He didn't even know if there was anything he could do an a warrior apprentice. He looked around camp for Mudfoot, hoping he could get some guidance. He had lost track of where his mentor had gone in the chaos of the battle.

(Ahh I love finding out some deeper lore about the characters of you guys! What do you have in mind for Crowpaw Ziotsu? Or is that a surprise? 😝)
Vicky had settled in the middle of camp with her little stash of herbs, waiting for cats to come up to her if they needed some tending to. Growing up in a harsh environment she had to learn how to fix herself when she got hurt, which happened a lot. So now she had the skills to patch up others. The tabby rolled her eyes irritably at Sunny. “If you need some help, you have to come over here.” Her tail flicked behind her. She definitely didn’t have the patience for Sunny’s banter right now. “I’ve got more things to do. Hurry up.” She snapped at Xenia when the she-cat wasn’t walking fast enough for Vicky’s liking.
————
Eaglepaw was tired, drained from fighting all the way to the rogue camp. His body was still beat up from when Jax was killed. And his brownish and white fur was matted with mud and forest debris from being dragged along. He certainly looked like he belonged here, he thought to himself. Cats walked past him, some shooting nasty remarks and him, some laughing and pointing at him as if he was some sort of freak of nature. His yellow gaze followed the cats while his head hung low. Anger welled up inside of him. Did he deserve all this? The worst was probably yet to come.. He was pretty sure they were going to kill him, to avenge Jax; an eye for an eye.
The anxiety of what would happen to him next made it hard to think straight. It made it impossible to come up with an escape plan. Clearly it was too late to escape once a golden tabby tom came up to him. For some reason that particular rogue gave him strange vibes. But then again, all rogues came off strange in some way. A low growl started in Eaglepaw’s throat, warning the tom to stay away. It was no use though and he was quickly lifted by his scruff. He couldn’t possibly fight the tabby off but he wasn’t going to roll over easily either. As the rogue lifted him up he started to struggle, throwing his body in every possible angle to claw at the golden tom. Unfortunately it didn’t do much damage, except for shooting pains through his sore muscles. Feeling defeated he crouched onto his haunches where the tabby had put him and his bushy tail wrapped protectively around him. “What do you care?” He grumbled, ears pinned back against his head.
———-
Gail quickly sat up and placed the paw she just drew over her head back on the ground when Pumpkin entered her den. Her pelt looked significantly better but it wasn’t as perfect as she wanted yet. She gave her fur a soft shake while she listened to Pumpkin’s ideas. One of the reasons why she chose the she-cat as her right paw was her passion, it was great to hear Gail wasn’t the only one that thought about the bigger picture. That way she could share a small portion of the burden of being a leader. She wouldn’t tell it to Pumpkin though, or at least not in those words. The white she-cat nodded approvingly. “I hadn’t thought of that yet. We can play a mental game with him. Drive him crazy.” She chuckled softly. “But how are we going to convince that sad excuse of a cat we want him to join us? Will we be able to keep our faces straight?” Her whiskers twitched with amusement.

Sunny almost felt giddy when Eaglepaw replied, he kept a calm, friendly composer though, not wanting to ruining his fun. He gave the younger cat a smile, making sure to give it a small sense of pity. "Well, would you like me to just call you "Prisoner"?" He asked, a slight laugh to his tone. He causally began to groom his face with his paw, unworried about Eaglepaw causing any trouble, carrying him had been even easier than expected. When he was happy with his timing, he placed down his paw and looked down at the apprentice. "Every cat has a name, you don't even have to tell me your real name. You could make something up." He mewed, tilting his head slightly as he spoke, he inspected the cat. He thought about offering to see if he could get him some kind of treatment, but he knew that it was too soon for that. "It's just a thought." He added.
