Sandfeather watched Rainpaw and the rogue wrestle in surprise, not knowing what to do to help the apprentice. For a young apprentice she had caught well, but Sandfeather stood ready to jump in at any given time. My brother! She felt panic run through her as she searched for her brother through all of the fighting, she couldn’t see him or leave Rainpaw to fight a full grown cat on her own. Sandfeather stayed ready behind Rainpaw, trying to ignore the panic in her mind.

(So sorry for disappearing, I’ve been super busy at work! If one of y’all wanna have a rogue attack Lightwing that’d work, I just didn’t want to interrupt anything y’all had going)
Nightfroat pinned his ears when the tom mentioned joining the rogues. “I won’t betray my clan,” he spat. “I won’t name who the cat is. None of us can deny it’s a tragedy. Even if one of us did say who the cat responsible is, you think this would end here? I’m sure my clanmates will demand revenge. An endless cycle of violence, over an accident.”

Sunny struggled to not roll his eyes at the warrior’s words, he was starting to feel frustration build up. He continued his performance, ignoring the other cat’s aggression. “Do you think that we like being here and fighting? I wouldn’t be talking to you if I just wanted violence.” He told the cat, giving him a sympathetic look. “Once justice for Jax is given, any reasonable cat would end this cycle. What if one of your friends or family died during this battle? I couldn’t imagine what I would do if one of my love ones were to die just because your clan is protecting someone who is a danger to us. We just want to feel safe. I’m sure that your want that too.” He said, appearing saddened by the fighting around him. “Jax was like a little brother to me- to everyone in my group. Please have a heart.” It was partially true, he did care for all of his group mates like family, though he hoped Jax would forgive him for using his name like a pawn. He was determined to end this threat, and putting questions in the minds of clan cats was always a bonus.

“Maybe your leader should have requested to speak with Wolfstar instead of attacking our camp, if feeling safe was all you were worried about,” Nightfrost retorted, fidgeting a little. He felt the mud caking on his paws and shook them impatiently. “But if my clan mates went out with the intention of killing, why wouldn’t they have killed Jax’s companion too? What mouse-brain would let a cat witness that and run back to tell the group if they planned on killing?”

This time, Sunny could not hold back his mocking laugh, he gave the cat a look of pity, “Why? So we could be told to trust in some code that we don’t believe in? So that we get turned away like some pest? Don’t act as if you see us as your equals.” He stated, his voice more harsh than it was but a few moments ago. “We struggle to feed our hungry bellies even in green-leaf, yet your clanmate attacked Jax and took it too far.” He added, taking another bold step towards the cat in front of him. “Sure, it could have been an accident, but that just means they’re some mouse-brained fool. Do you really want someone like that teaching your young? Ending him would be doing you a favour.” His ears laid flat, his friendly facade slowly fading. Clearly this cat wouldn’t give him what he wanted. The time for talking was over, he would just have to trust that Ollie and Click will do what’s needed. Without warning, Sunny pounced at the large cat, his massive claws unsheathed as he attempted to drag the cat back into the mud. He mentally kicked himself for losing his cool, but it was too late.

(No worries sometime this week I may start wrapping this fight up just so it doesn't drag on. Also Dawn want one of my cats to save Mudfoot?)
Clover winces as the tom digs his claws into her shoulder. She tries to shaking him off though he didn't appear to be letting go.
Ollie enters the medicine cat den and sees the two apprentices resting there. He was about to take a step forward until a voice called out. "You need to leave young one." Sageflower mewed taking a step towards him. She wasn't a fighter but she wouldn't allow the rogue to harm her clanmates. Ollie growled and moves towards her. "I just need that one." He mewed motioning to Eaglepaw.
Stripes ends up rearing up and falling on his back. Rainpaw lets out a cry of pain and ends up letting go of him.

The corners of Gail's mouth had curled into a sly smirk as she heaved herself off the ground. The shocked expressions of the clancats made her feel elevated; they deserved all this and more. So much more. From behind Wolfstar she spotted Ollie getting past to the medicine cat den but she didn't have much time to process it as Wolfstar leapt at her. With a quick last moment move to the side she managed to save her throat from getting ripped. The leader came at her with full force, she must've finally hit a nerve in the usually calm tom. Together they rolled into the mud, a mix of dirt, blood and fur.
-----------
Blazestorm writhed on the muddy ground, pain clearly showing in his face as he tried to grasp onto his limp leg. There was nothing he could do anymore to fix this but he wasn't going down with a fight. With his remaining three legs he slowly got up. He forced himself to push the pain to the back of his mind.
-----------
Eaglepaw's ears perked up. He was drowsy and not sure what was happening around him as he opened eyes to take in Ollie's shape. The fur on his neck started to bristle. This seemed like a bad dream.. Screeching and yowling could be heard from outside. Did they come for him? He couldn't believe it. The young tom started a growl nside his throat.
---------
Raven forced herself into the medicine cat den behin Ollie, ready to take the fleebag that killed Jax with them. "Back off. We don't need to hurt you. We only want him." She hissed to Sageflower, a long slender tail lashing aggressively behind her.
---------
Vicky hissed and growled as the clancat raked her claws over her flank. She felt anger welling up inside her. This was taking too long now. Her tail lashed with frustration. As much as she wanted to rip the silver she-cat to shreds - she wasn't here to do that. She shook her head, trying to gain some more clarity. Once again she had let herself be bytracked by her anger. "Fine." Vicky snorted and suddenly changed direction towards the den where she noticed other rogues were flocking towards as well. Jax's killer must be hiding there.
--------------
(The physics aren't always clear to me either hahah. Hopefully this seems a little close to reality)
Poppyfall and Xenia once again found themselves locked into a tumble through the mud, their claws gripping eachother's pelts. They had cold mud all over them and the ongoing rain didn't help the morale either. Was it worth it to keep the fight going with this rogue in particular? Or was it better to spread her energy? She tried to wriggle herself loose from the she-cat's grip, kicking with her hindlegs to create some distance between them. It was almost a shame the rogue was on the other side, as they were closely matched. Surely the clan could use warriors like that.

Silverleaf stumbled as she landed but quickly turned to Vicky, ready for another attack. When she saw the larger cat turn she felt anxiety well up in her chest. She followed the cat’s gaze and her blue eyes widened. Why was no one guarding the medicine cat den? She bounded after the cat on unsteady legs, she wanted to pounce and stop Vicky but she knew she was in no condition to do so; it would simply give Vicky a larger lead. “You coward!” She growled, hoping it would cause the cat to halt to face her once again. She felt her leg and shoulder burn with pain at every step but she forced herself to carry on. As she ran she glanced to her clanmates, a silent urge for someone to follow her.

(Ya, I would look up videos of cats fighting but I've seen cats fighting, it is basically just a ball of hate and anger for a few seconds. Not a whole lot of help with physics of a fight like this)
Xenia was hyper focused on keeping her and Poppyfall in this tussle. She felt claws dig into her pelt and causing scratches along her pelt that started to bleed. She felt a hearty kick against her, one of the hits was successful in pushing her away and knocking the breath out of her a bit. She let out a gasp rolling away from Poppyfall, taking a moment to catch her breath, not letting the other cat out of her sight. She was suddenly very aware of every inch of her body. It was screaming, her muscles were begging for any form of break, one that she wasn't planning on giving. Her pelt was now more brown than white, making her fur cling to her. She was bleeding from her paw, she felt the sting for the first time since the wound was first given to her. Her shoulder stung from where the other she-cat had dragged her down, probably bleeding as well. She was very aware of how miserable she was at this moment, but she didn't let that get to her. She had her gaze kept on Poppyfall, her face scrunched into a growl and her claws were still unsheathed, despite how she was now shaking. She had yet to hear that they were successful so she wouldn't give up. She stalked forward, trying to not limp lightly, she really didn't know what to do next. She felt like she had to, so she pushed herself forward to bite down on the back of the other cat's neck. She felt slower, and probably was slower.
(I also tried to showcase the loss of adrenaline which is what she has been running off of for basically the entire run and fight.)

Wolfstar ends up leaping off of Gail and shakes his fur. He needed to end this fight before anyone else got hurt. Wolfstar spits blood into the dirt and digs his claws into the ground. "You truly are a vile cat!"
Oakpaw tried to rise to his paws but he still felt groggy from the poppy seed. "L-eave them alone!" He mumbled though Oakpaw could barely stand. Sageflower looks over at the apprentices then back to Raven and Ollie. There was no way she could take them both on. The clan was going to need her after this fight. Starclan please forgive me. Sageflower pinned hears back and takes a few steps back.
Ollie sees Sageflower back down and smirks. He turns to look back at Eaglepaw and walks over to him. "You are going to pay for killing Jax!" He grabs hold of Eaglepaw's scruff and starts dragging him from the nest.

Blazestorm had mustered up the last bit of his strenght to stand next to Wolfstar and take a united front against Gail. He could feel his bloodloss was making him dizzy and wobbly but it wouldn't hold him back. The rogues needed to be stopped and he would give his last breath to protect his clanmates.
-----
Gail's golden gaze narrowed. "That's rich, coming from you." She hissed to Wolfstar, shaking out her fur while she regained her posture. It was matted and stained with blood and mud. She looked a far cry from the usually perfectly groomed white she-cat. Her gaze switched from the clanleader to the red deputy that came stumbling forward to stand next to Wolfstar. She could see what they were trying to do, cornering her with the both of them. "Well, you've got me." The she-cat rolled her eyes nonchalantly but they quickly returned to slitted glares. "Now you two can finish what you've started. You've killed Cloudfoot already, one of your own. You're merciless. You made us this way." Her tail lashed as she tried to engage the cats in the conversation, looking for the moment their attention would slip.
Once Gail noticed Blazestorm reacted some kind of way to Cloudfoot's name she took the oppertunity to suddenly leap at the red tom. He couldn't hold his balance and they fell over together. The large red claws raked over her flanks but she could feel the tom getting weaker with each blow. She only needed one opening to grab onto his throat with her sharp claw, fatally ripping it and leaving the tom struggling for his breath. Her eyes were emotionless as she jumped off him and glanced back at Wolfstar. "You're going to feel what it's like to lose the cats closest to you." She meowed coolly and saw her chance to run towards the medicine cat den while she left Wolfstar with the dying deputy. Adrenaline pumped hard through her veins; there was nothing like the thrill of a fresh kill.
------
Vicky didn't want to look back at the annoying silver she-cat as not to be tempted to return to fight her. She didn't really meet any more warriors to stop her, they were all locked in scuffles with other rogues, so she could slip by easily. "Get him Ollie." The she-cat grinned as she watched the young tom grabbing the black and white killer. She wouldn't have wanted to miss this sight. The warmth of the den slapped onto her bleeding gashes and scratches. Luckily the fact that they were reaching their goal made it easier to forget about the strain from the fighting. While she was there she took the chance to rummage through herbs, destroying and crumpling up leaves and seeds in the process.
-------
Eaglepaw hissed and growled as he felt Ollie yanking on his scruff. He tried to claw around him but somehow he felt like it was all just a dream. He was beat down from their previous fight and the poppyseeds had made him feel slow. As he glanced around more rogues came into the den. There was no stopping them but he'd still try. He wouldn't go with them willingly. What would they do to him? Torture him? Kill him?
------
Scorchtail felt torn as he tried to protect the nursery. He'd been able to chase off a few rogues but it seemed like their attention had shifted once they found out the apprentices were hiding in the medicine cat den. He locked eyes with Silverleaf, her glance pleading him to leave his place and help her. The red tom was about to go after his clanmate when his sight fell unto the battle between Blazestorm and Gail. The blood in his veins turned stone cold as he realized what had just unfolded. Anger washed over him and he bolted after the rogues, ready to get his claws onto any one of them.
------
Poppyfall's pelt burned as it came in contact with the rogue's claws. Fur laid scattered around them. Once Xenia moved away from her she gasped for air, breathing heavily. She scrambled to her paws, eyes still onto the other she-cat. The wounds and scratches in her pelt were pumping and throbbing. They were both getting tired and no matter how hard she tried her lungs were still gasping for more air. Inhaling deeply once more she wanted to go for another move, however Xenia beat her to it. Instead she swung her claw to the side of the she-cat's face, hoping to change the course of Xenia's attack. She grunted with frustration, it was as if her body hadn't expected to go on.

Silverleaf winced with each step, her leg screaming for her to stop. The small cat struggled to walk through the mud, her pace reduced to a limp. She knew she had met Scorchtail’s gaze but she pressed on ahead, not looking back, now fully focused on the path ahead. Her determination to fight through the pain causing her to remain unaware of the death of the deputy but a few fox lengths away. Silverleaf hissed to the sting of mud on her wounds; the medicine cat den seeming further away than ever. She watched as Vicky entered the den with ease, had Sageflower fallen victim to the rogues? She could see movement from inside the den, it seemed as if rogues were gathering to it like rats on crow food. “Sageflower!” She called, hoping for some indication that the cat was still alive and unharmed.

Wolfstar felt time slow down as Gail attacked and killed Blazestorm. He felt rooted to the spot even as the she-cat raced off towards the medicine cat's den. He stares at his faithful deputy as the life seeps from him. "Blazestorm." He mutters still shocked by what just happened. His whole body felt numb unaware of what was going on around him.
Screechfang yowled as loudly as he could as he attempts to lunge at the rogues. However, two of the rogues continued to keep him back.
As the battle slowly started to wane, the rain went from a heavy downpour to more of a steady one. The dark clouds slowly moving across the sky.
Somewhere up in Starclan:
A pretty looking she-cat prepares to guide her lover to the stars. Nearby a guilty looking white tom stood nearby. He hoped Blazestorm would forgive him for all of this. The she-cat turned to look at him. "It's going to be okay. He is not going to blame you for what happened." The tom gives her a small flick of his tail. "I know, but any cat killed by these rogues is on my paws. If I hadn't died in the river, so many cats would still be alive. It's the least I can do until this is all over." The she-cat simply nodded her head and slowly floated down towards Blazestorm. "My love it's time for you to go."
(Apologies Jade if this is to much/not needed. Wanted to throw something in to make it sadder but also kind of sweet)

Sandfeather heard Rainpaws screech and immediately leaped into the fight, latching onto Stripes to drag him away from the apprentice.
Mudfoot laid on the ground, opening his eyes to see Pumpkin getting up after he kicked her off of him. He was out of breath and tired, but still tried to stand on his feet. As he slowly got up he saw Blazestorm on the ground in a puddle of blood with Wolfstar standing over him, no, no, no. He looked under him to see blood staining his fur and the ground where he lay, oh no. His thoughts whirled and felt himself lose his strength as he fell back down into the bloody spot. Noticing Pumpkin walking towards him he closed his eyes, hoping to find the strength to fight off the she-cat.

Xenia felt a blow on her cheek, she hoped it was with sheathed claws but the sting and the drip of blood told her it wasn't. She stumbled away, her energy waning quickly as she stood right in front of the she-cat. She felt blood drip over her eye, making it difficult to see out of it. She probably looked as miserable as she felt at this moment, she hoped that this all was worth it and Jax would be avenged for his death. She realized that the move she just made was just about all she had left as she let out a shaky breath. She felt spent, so she just stood by the other she-cat, planning on using the last little bit of energy she had to keep her from assisting any of her clanmates.

(Don't worry Hawk, this is great! It’s nice to give him a good ending!)
At first Blazestorm’s body still resisted that this would be the end. He wanted to talk but he couldn't get any words to leave his lips. He wasn't ready to go and leave his clanmates to fight without him. Everything changed when he could hear his long lost mate’s voice in his head. His pale green eyes became peaceful and his body was at rest. The light in his gaze went away; it would travel with his spirit to Starclan. “Is that really you?” Blazestorm asked. “I missed you so much.” He was so relieved to see her, he’d almost forget what had happened around him.
-------
Scorchtail pummeled into one of the rogues that was pestering Screechfang, letting out all of his anger onto that cat. No more of his clanmates would have to pay the price for the rogue's twisted plans if it was up to him. He would kill them all if he could but he knew that was an irrational thought right now, stemming from his emotions.
------
Poppyfall took a step back when the she-cat in front of her didn't throw in a counter move. She guessed the rogue was as tired as she was. They had exhausted eachother to such an extent that she wasn't really sure what to do anymore. Her breathing was raspy, having the air knocked out of her a few times had taken a strain on her ribs, making it painful to breathe. She could just leave the rogue to it and run off into another fight but she wasn't sure whether she still had the energy to get into another battle without getting herself killed. What was there left for her to do though? Try and kill this rogue? No, she wouldn't stoop to that level. Just standing by as her clanmates gave their all wasn't an option either. Her amber gaze travelled through the camp entrance, there was so much going on everywhere. After what seemed like an eternity of deliberating her next move she decided it would be best to leave this fight behind and assist her clanmates in camp. The warrior took a last deep breath and aimed to charge past the rogue. Her lungs stung but there was no giving up now.
-----
Pearmoon had been curled up around Snowfeather and the kits as the fight went on outside. Once she noticed Scorchtail had left the entrance worry washed over her. Battlesounds, screetches and rainfall could clearly be heard outside. She sat up, ready to fight if some rogue decided to into the nursery.

She touches her nose to his and lets out a happy purr. "It is, I've come to bring you to Starclan. There are some cats eager to meet you."
Shadowblaze races over to Pumpkin and tackles her away from Mudfoot. He bares his fangs daring the she-cat to try anything with him.
Stripes attempts to whip around and slash his claws at Sandfeather but he ends up missing.
Ollie and the other rogue begin dragging Eaglepaw to the entrance while some of the others covered their backs. Ollie was thankful for the other cats help considering how heavy Eaglepaw was.

Blazestorm touched his nose to her’s, taking in the familiar scent he’d missed so much. He hesitated for a moment to follow her, looking back at his body laying there with Wolfstar at his side. He took in the whole situation that was happening in camp with sorrowful eyes. ”Will they be okay without me?”
———-
Eaglepaw was kicking around and loudly protesting his departure from the clan camp but it was useless. They were with too much. There was no way he could fight them off, not even when he wasn't in such a bad state. He had no chance. "Let me go!" He growled and unleashed a new wave of struggles and wiggling.
--------
Once Eaglepaw was forcefully being escorted out of camp it was time to get the group to go. “Retreat!” Gail called loudly following after the group that held the killer. They had what they wanted. Surely this wouldn’t be the last fight. She stood near the entrance to make sure nobody was left behind and that they weren’t attacked by warriors in the back.

(Sorry about that, I thought I had posted my reply last night but I guess it didn't go through)
Xenia stumbled when Poppyfall charged past her, letting out a growl as she turned to chase after her. Her legs felt heavy and weak, and she couldn't manage to catch up to her. "Don't" She growled breathlessly. She didn't want it to end like this, she felt like she had failed in actually helping as she watched the other cat leave the fight. She felt a sting of guilt when she heard Gail call for a retreat. She hoped their mission was accomplished, but her recent failure made her pessimistic if that happened. She couldn't even keep a single cat distracted till the call for a retreat. She turned, making her way out the camp as quickly as her legs could manage. Her ears were flat against her head in shame. Her shame lessened when she caught sight of a cat being dragged away "We did it?" She asked hopeful to no one in particular.

Sunny was quick to break away from the warrior he at first seemed irritated, his fur standing high on his hunches, but once he had confirmed that Eaglepaw had been caught, he relaxed. “Farewell, my friend” he called as he raced away towards his group. He was quick to catch up, taking note of how everyone else looked. He quickly caught up to Xenia, slowing down to match her pace, “it seems so.” Sunny purred, his eyes fixed on the apprentice that was being dragged ahead of them. He made sure to walk close enough to allow her to lean on him if needed. He was lucky that he got away with a few scratches, the warrior he fought was strong.
Silverleaf was unable to maintain her balance as the rogues races past her. She laid for a moment in the mud, temporarily listening to her bodies plead for rest. Soon however, she sat up, wincing as she forced herself to her feet. She glanced around the camp, her stare icy as she focused on standing tall but she soon relented again. Sitting and watching the medicine cat’s den for signs of life, her muscles stiff and her body shivering. She felt anger well up in her chest. Why didn’t Scorchtail follow her? Her claws unsheathed into the wet earth in frustration as she recalled meeting his gaze. She then shook her head, forcing the thought of him simply ignoring her pleads out of her mind. It didn’t make sense, surely something must have happened. She couldn’t allow herself to get emotional over such things. Eaglepaw is gone, there is nothing more she could do.

Xenia was grateful for the support provided for her, gladly leaning against Sunny for support. "Thank you" She said, both for the offer and for the reassurance that the battle wasn't for nothing. "I am glad we got Jax's murderer." Her gaze shifted towards the struggling cat, her gaze hardening as she thought about the fact that the clan almost let him get away with this. She shook her head, trying to calm herself at least a bit. It wasn't something she needed to dwell on, they succeeded. "You seem to be doing better than me." She decided to change the subject in her mind a bit. Thinking of it, she was lucky to get away with what she got. She had scratches along her flank from the tussle with the other cat, her paw stung from the bite early on, but the most painful was where claws had hooked her shoulder. It throbbed and stung with every heartbeat. She barely even felt the sting on her cheek from the final strike. Despite all this, and with the reassurance from Sunny, she felt happy with the fight. Maybe it was the beginning of her becoming a better fighter.

Sunny nodded at Xenia’s thanks, mentally reminding himself to watch his pace once she leaned against him for support. She was so much smaller than him that he would easily throw her off balance if he mis-stepped. When she mentioned how he he was in better condition than her, his golden eyes quickly shifted to her to observe her condition. “I believe I made a friend today.” He mewed in response, though the irritation in his voice betrayed his words. Sunny loved to confuse his opponents, make them doubt themselves and others; but the warrior he faced was stubborn in his beliefs and Sunny wasn’t able to make as much progress as he would’ve liked before he had lost his temper. Nonetheless, that cat would surely remember him, which may be helpful in the future. Still, he wished that he had talked to a cat that would have been more easily swayed. A clan cat that was sympathetic to them would be very beneficial. Easy hunting and information, all in exchange for half-hearted friendliness. He then briefly gave Xenia a softened look, not of pity but of understanding, if one blinked then they would have missed it. “You did well, those cats are trained to fight, so holding your own against them is very difficult. I’m sure Jax would be thankful.” He said, his eyes then turning back to watch the cats ahead of them. “We will get you fed and rested up when we get home.”

Falconfrost seeing that the battle was lost makes his way to Screechfang who was still fighting as hard as he could. "Give me back my son you filthy fox-hearts!" He yowled his voice starting to get sore from yelling so much. Falconfrost pushes in front of his brother and attempts to push him away. "I hate to say it but we have to back down brother." However, Screechfang pushed back against him. "I'm going to kill them! They can't take my kit! They can't!"
Oakpaw crumbles to the ground and places his paws over his face. He couldn't help but feel guilty for Eaglepaw being taken away. Eaglepaw I'm so sorry! Sageflower lets out a sigh wishing that there was more she could do. Turning away, she began to get her herbs ready to deal with all the injuries.
Wolfstar glances up to see the rogues as they started to leave with Eaglepaw. He makes a promises right there that he would bring Eaglepaw back and put an end to Gail's reign of terror. For now his clan needed to grieve and to rest.
The she-cat slowly nodded her head. "Remember this the storm may be long but it doesn't last forever. Long as Tempestclan continues to remain strong, they will never falter."

Pumpkin tumbled in the dirt after Shadowblaze attacked her. Quickly regaining her balance as she heard Gail yell for the group to retreat. Walking last Shadowblaze and Mudfoot she bared her teeth growling, muttering words that were too quiet to hear. She trudged after the group, adrenaline still pumping her body.
—————
Sandfeather watched as Stripes retreated and turned to Rainpaw to check if she was okay. “Are you alright?” She asked the apprentice, who did a great job defending off the rogues.
—————
Mudfoot slowly stood up, his pelt ruffled with blood, and made his way over to Wolfstar. He looked down to see Blazestorm lifeless in a puddle of blood, “he was a brave and honorable deputy, we must give him the burial he deserves.” He mewed to the leader, looking up to see his expressionless face.

Xenia let out a small laugh and nodded her head "The she-cat I was fighting pulled some moves I've never even considered before. She smacked me on the head, no claws just a hard hit. She also bit my paw, don't know how she managed to grab it midair but she did." It was easier to think back on the fight and consider the different moves made now that it was behind her. Sunny had made quite a good point about them being trained, it was obvious in the she-cat's more refined movements. "I must be lucky" she muttered, thinking of each move. It was easier to think about and consider the battle now that it was in the past, even if it was just a few minutes ago. When she did, the realization on how large a gap of ability was between them dawned on her. Each move from the other she-cat was made with purpose, or at least her confident movements made it seem so. Xenia's moves were filled with just whatever she could think of doing at that second, not really taking into account on where it would take the battle. Even if it worked out for her this time, she felt that if she ever fought that cat again, she would probably lose quickly.

The golden tabby listened to her story, glad that she was reflecting on the battle. “It’s never just luck.” Sunny stated, quickly correcting her, “always remember that. Your actions always change the outcome of a battle.” Sunny then looked back to the white she-cat. “When you are fighting a cat, don’t just think about how much bigger or more experienced they are. What’s their mood? Are they young or old? Do they seem to be protecting something or are they just protecting themselves? All of these can be used to your advantage.” Sunny couldn’t help but find himself lecturing the cat, he could see she wanted to improve her skills and he felt it was natural to give her advice. “Fighting is as psychological as it is physical.” He added, his previous irritation now gone. He was back to his usual cheery self.
Silverleaf’s ear twitched as she heard her clanmates gather. She watched the medicine cat den for a moment, anxiety building up. She soon turned her attention to where everyone stood and saw her deputy’s lifeless form laying in mud and blood. She hadn’t even noticed, how blind of her. She observed for a moment before forcing herself to stand, her leg feeling hot as it throbbed in protest. She limped her way to the den in front of her, the scent of blood and herbs flooding her senses as she pushed her way into the warmth of the den, stumbling slightly in the wet mud. She stared at the mess of herbs that were scattered throughout the normally neat den, noting the mess that the rogues had left. The silver cat glanced to the two cats in the den, relief clear on her face when she saw them. She looked to Sageflower, not wanting to frighten Oakpaw even more with they deputy’s condition, she stepped into the den and out of way of exit to allow sageflower to leave. She sat down, her fluffy tail blocking the view of her leg from Oakpaw. “The clearing, quickly.” She noted that no one had arrived to fetch the medicine cat, so perhaps it was already too late. Her body felt too heavy and her mind to clouded to consider it too much. Surely others in the clearing needed care regardless.

Sageflower looks up to see Silverleaf walking in, and immediately takes notice of her injuries. She prepares to ask the she-cat to sit down until, she mentioned for her to come outside. She blinks, confused for a moment but judging by the tone of her voice, she decided to listen. She rises to her paws and heads outside. Sageflower sees Wolfstar standinbg near a lifeless Blazestorm. "Oh." She mutters softly pinning her ears back. She takes a deep breath and slowly exhales before slowly walking towards them.

"I'm okay just a little shaken." Rainpaw mewed as she decides to sit down. "Did I do good?" She asked her tone hopeful. She mostly stayed out of the fighting except for that moment to help her mentor.

Silverleaf watched the cat leave the den, her blue eyes lingering for a moment on the she-cat as her figure seemed to disappear in the gray rainfall and mist. She then glanced to Oakpaw, and shuffled awkwardly on her paws. Silverleaf was never good with others, especially when they were upset. She wanted to tell him that there was nothing he could do and that they did what they should’ve in that situation but she held back; it would simply make him more upset. She quietly walked over to the apprentice, laying down beside him and resting against his flank, ignoring the mud that was now caked into her pelt. She felt awkward, her uncertainty reminding her of how she felt while fight Vicky. Unsure on what to do, she gave him a reassuring lick on his shoulder and rested her head on her paws. Staring at the entrance in front of her, Silverleaf listened to Oakpaw’s whimpers and the harsh rattling of the rain. She felt sleepy but her pain and discomfort forced to stay awake as she attempted to comfort the apprentice. She was too proud to admit that she was also comforting herself in the process.
