What's everyone's opinion on Dovewing's Silence? In my personal opinion, I don't think it changed Dovewing's character very much except for her maturity. This book did nothing new to her growth except she tried to move on, but even she has done this before. I didn't feel anything "refreshing" or whatever in her novella, and it kind of felt forced how almost everyone was against the trainees. Dovewing herself was fine, but I thought the book was just okay, pretty much boring. I don't care for it, which is ironic since she's one of my favorite characters.

I do not like this novella.
I wish Breezepelt got the post-OotS novella instead of Dovewing. I wish we got anything on him at all so his "redemption" could at least be seen on page, then the transition to Crowfeather's Trial would make some kind of sense.

This novella is one of my favorites. It focused on Dovewing's feelings and insecurities a lot more in-depth that it did in the OOTS arc. I'm glad it wasn't centered around romance and it focused more on herself and her struggles. And along the way, it showed us the outcome of the Great battle.

Not a fan, I hated the fact that a former POV character got a standalone. Sometimes it's fine, like with Firestar since he's the OG, or Hollyleaf, since her brothers got to have POVs for two arcs, and she didn't. Honestly, out of all the Dark Forest aftermath books, only Crowfeather's Trial should have existed, but I think it could have worked better as Breezepelt's SE. Or Harestar, it could have shown why he trained in the DF, and why Onestar picked him, out of alll the other DF trainees, to be deputy. Back to Dovewing's Silence, it had Blossomfall being nice, so that's a plus, but that's really the only plus I can think of.

It's just fine for me. I don't like it, but also don't hate it.

I like it. To me it felt like Dovewing was learning to finally grow and stay away from the tom drama. She was also learning how to deal with being a normal cat now. It was fun to see her grow but......it seems like she didn't learn anything at all since we all know what happened......
