So
I mentioned wanting to do a rewrite
and now im putting ideas to paper (or..screen in this case)
I want to make it a total au/rewrite changing plot elements and changing situations resulting in characters changing in ways to reflect the updated circumstances
no spottedleafs heart or stuff like that
I figured what event could I change to shift the timeline enough for this
and came up with one
Mapleshades Vengeance will be turned into.....
Ravenwings Remorse
Ravenwings dream of reeds didn’t end there, instead the plants sunk and the river ran red.. Now Ravenwing must live with the consequences of Mapleshades actions and his desire to tell the truth, all while fighting a future he so desperately doesn’t wish to come true...
Thats right I'm gonna try and give depth to my least liked character
So the plot expands on the dream he got and after Mapleshade is exiled he follows Mapleshade instead of Frecklewish
and stops her from crossing the river fearing it will run red
Later when Maple tries to cross in less stormy weather she and the kits are still rejected from riverclan
Ravenwing will be struggling to choose between letting the future he was warned about yet the one meant to happen play out, the way starclan intends it too (think slightly like goosefeather but not that extreme)
or save the cats around him
While I made notes about the story and au I would love to get some tips/insight on tips/ideas for how this would play out

oh wow this... actually makes ravenwing sound compelling by giving him some measure of remorse and inner conflict.
is mapleshade still gonna be a villain in this? if she is, maybe ravenwing takes the kits in and becomes their surrogate father, while mapleshades fueled not by the death of her kits but pure spite and hatred? it could establish her more clearly as a villain, with her using “they exiled my kits” as an excuse when shes really doing it solely for herself, and outright endangering her kits along the way.

I believe I just thought about a pretty good challenge: Can you try to write an AU where the protagonist is Tigerclaw? Attempt to write him as a three dimensional character who is still a clear villain. What I mean is that you should make his motives understandable from his perspective since Tigerstar himself presumably does not see himself as evil, as he probably sees his actions as necessary. You would have to write it where it is entirely from his perspective, meaning that you would need to try to write from his own thoughts, how he justified his actions, such as, attacking Tiny/Scourge, killing Redtail, Making a Trap for Bluestar at the Thunderpath, Leading rogues to Thunderclan, The plan with the dog pack, the “alliance” with Bloodclan. Presumably there would be a lot of tension between Scourge and Tigerstar.
Here are my thoughts on how you could do this: -Model the mentor/apprentice relationship between Tigerstar and Thistleclaw on Star Wars’s Palpatine and Plagueis. Canonically, Thistleclaw is only mentioned to have died at Sunningrocks with the scent of Riverclan on him. Maybe you can have both Tigerstar and Thistleclaw scheming to takeover Thunderclan together only for Tigerstar to discreetly be planning Thistleclaw’s demise. Maybe Tigerstar could murder Thistleclaw at Sunningrocks to act as a set up to the prologue of Into The Wild (The battle at the beginning, not the one with Redtail’s death). -Due to Tigerstar’s Fury, you could make it so that Tigerstar occasionally would have “thoughts” that aren’t his own, but that he can’t distinguish them from his own thoughts. -I recommend that if you perform this challenge, you should do a really in depth close reading of the first series to really get Tigerstar’s thought process down so that he doesn’t come across as a one dimensional villain. -The Thunderpath Trap in Fire And Ice should be the same, except instead of Tigerstar setting the trap for Bluestar, he would instead set the trap purposefully for Fireheart. Except that intention is all in his head. The lie he tells Dustpelt to say to Fireheart is that Bluestar needs to go to the Thunderpath, but Tigerstar would have known that Fireheart would suspect a trap and would go himself after his own thing. This would make Cinderpaw’s Accident more meaningful and have more of an impact on the reader since Fireheart never would find out that the trap was actually set for him and that if it wasn’t for Cinderpaw, he would have fell right into it. -There could be something similar with the Dog Pack. Rather than Longtail spying on Tigerstar and Darkstripe, he should actually meet with them. Tigerstar would only trust himself, considering Darkstripe to be a fool and Longtail to be a traitor. Yet he would still consider them both useful in their own way. He tells them both his plan to lead the Dog Pack to Thunderclan, knowing that Longtail would betray him to Fireheart. He would meet with Darkstripe secretly without Longtail, telling him to get Bramblepaw and Tawnypaw our of the camp. Both of them would lay out the trail of rabbits so that by the time Fireheart and Longtail can move the rabbits, the scent trail would still be there. He would also task Darkstripe with luring someone to the camp entrance to kill them. Darkstripe would decide on Brindleface (I don’t really believe that Tigerstar would get his paws dirty without it being the only way to advance his plans). He would already assume that if the dogs don’t destroy everyone, Fireheart would evacuate everyone to Sunningrocks while coming up with a plan to lure the dogs to the gorge. The one thing that he wouldn’t expect would be Bluestar’s sacrifice. -Also, It is revealed in the Tigerstar and Shasha Manga that Tigerstar’s alliance with Bloodclan happens before the dog pack. -Maybe Tigerstar could have caused the rockfall that killed Oakheart, hoping that it would kill Redtail. And when that doesn’t work, then he would kill Redtail. -His Tigerclan, Bloodclan scheme could actually just be a red herring. His real pan could be pitting Bloodclan, Lionclan, and Tigerclan, against each other to enact his final revenge against the clans. Scourge’s betrayal could more meaningful in that it would be the last betrayal Tigerstar can take before loosing it and lashing out in a blind rage.
If you do an AU on my challenge, this would make Tigerstar as a villain more understandable, interesting, and fascinating, though not likable.

I did not see when the post was made. Sometimes I do things without thinking. I am getting better at thinking more, but it just keeps coming back. I am sorry about this.
