I don't know if Bramblestar will return as leader of ThunderClan, or if Squirrelflight or another cat will become leader, but we'll most likely find out in the sixth book. This is shaping up to be one of the best Warriors arcs, in my opinion.

Holy... I can’t believe what I read up to this point. I can’t tell if Ashfur simply knocked Squirrelflight out or killed her in that scene, though it is implied he might have with the ‘limp body’ remark.

Does this mean that Lionblaze is basically leader now? I think so, but who will he choose to be deputy?

I don't wanna believe he killed her. And tbh, this isn't the first time he dragged her limp either, considering he knocked her out for a moment in what, the second book? and did the same.
Being real tho I just don't want Squirrelflight dead by that jackoff incel.

Aw, Beekit and Beetlekit are adorable! And I really like that Sunrise is a good aunt to Rootspring.
The blurb said that Daisy must decide whether she wants the rogue from her past to be a part of her future. Smoky didn't even cross my mind since he's not a rogue. Nonetheless, I wonder who his mate is. My guess is Coriander.
I feel really bad for Squirrelflight. Killing Bramblestar's body isn't going to stop Ashfur, either.

Squirrelflight lashes out at him just before he starts dragging her off, so I don't believe she's dead. Her "limp body" I think is meaning that he managed to nearly kill her and she's not at full strength.

Does this mean that Lionblaze is basically leader now? I think so, but who will he choose to be deputy? De facto leader I guess? I'm guessing he's going to do what Squirrelflight did and take up temporary leadership with a temporary deputy. Though I can't expect he's going to be all too happy that Ashfur's escaped and taken not only his adopted father and his body, but now his adopted mother.

Wow, that was quite an adventure! I haven't read any of the first three (two? four? I don't even know what book this is) books, so I wasn't sure what was going on at first, but I think I understand now. Shadowsight is my favorite of the three main cats--really starting to hate Mothwing and the other ShadowClan cats for trying to discredit his abilities as a medicine cat. Why do the Erins like to ruin cats' characters like that? I know they need an opposing force for the plot, but I can't stand seeing Mothwing act so unnecessarily cruel to him.
RootxBristle is boring to me, I wish that wasn't such a huge focus in this book. I'm glad they're not acting immature about it, but it's not interesting to me at all.
Ashfur is a great villain overall. Sometimes I worry that his character acts too differently than the PoT/TNP Ashfur, but I guess turning evil can do that to you. Although it's weird how an incel can have so much power over five Clans.
Never met the Sisters before, but I didn't mind them. They have an interesting way of living--I think I need to catch up on the other books to understand what they're like.
I'm a little sad that Graystripe and the rest of the journeying cats were never mentioned after they left! I was hoping we'd get some information on what happened with them.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book! The more I read, the more invested I got--especially near the end where the Clans decided that they were going to murder Ashfur. Super exciting!! Anyways, thank you so much Rockfoot for putting your time into this. I really enjoy your chapter reviews--they make it a lot easier to know what's going on. We appreciate it!

So, my thoughts... I have trouble with spoiler tags, so I will just put a big spoiler warning and have them down below.
*SPOILERS*
I really like seeing the Sisters again, and Moonlight as well. And it was cool that Rootspring is learning about his powers. I honestly think that they are more interesting than the Clans. But it could just be because I Like who they are based off of and the fact that we’ve seen so much from the Clans.
And they really did Shadowsight dirty in this book... Making him be manipulated by Ashfur again... and this is coming from someone that doesn’t even like the former... I guess it’s a way of showing that special powers aren’t always a good thing, but it’s still leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason.
And I have a feeling Lionblaze won’t be lasting long if he is the leader figure after this. He is pretty hotheaded, and since Ashfur is the aggressor, I doubt he’ll be thinking straight for a lot of this. It is kind of nice that the authors did show that off though, since a lot of fence towards the place him in leadership positions, at least from what I’ve seem to forget about his hotheadedness or any other flaws... as for who leader will be after all this (assuming Bramblestar does not return to his body, which I still feel is pretty possible, considering the bleak tone of that overall), I am wondering if we will see a Bristlestar. She is the character that the writers seem to be focusing on the most, and it’s been a while since Thunderclan has seen a young or female leader... it would definitely shake things up...
I am hoping Mistystar dies soon... this is coming from someone that liked her aside from the times she was acting crazy... The fact that she’s lived this long without any reference to her age is just obscene at this point...
I’m not sure how I feel about the whole idea of not needing Starclan to be a Clan. I feel like it’s something that would work if religious entities didn’t directly influence Clan life. But the problem is they do, and that means the living do need them. Without Starclan, leaders and medicine cats lose a lot of their power, and the cats in general lose a lot of guidance in bad situations... The fact that they relied on Starclan means I can’t see how they would function without it, if it were to come to that.
Also, I’m wondering if we’ll get any hints or even reveals of who is manipulating Ashfur behind the scenes. He may be revenge driven, but he’s not that smart, powerful, or manipulative by himself. And if the dialogue from the prologue is any indication, he may have manipulated the Starclan cats and send him to the world of the living, if he didn’t already pretend to be in their good graces beforehand.

Rockfoot, I guess you wouldn't be willing to take pictures of every page and make a PDF of the book? I assume not, but I figured it's worth asking. That is pirating and theft. I would be the person who gets in trouble if Rockfoot chose to do this. Basically, it puts the entire forum at risk and if anything were to legally come out of it, I would face charges. Stop asking please. Thanks.

Sand's thoughts echo my own. I'm not going to be taking pictures of the book. It's theft and not only would the forum get in a lot of potential trouble, so would I. I know the person who did it for Veil of Shadows and they got into some legal issues with both Google (as they put it in a drive), and HarperCollins, and it's not a rabbit hole I'm willing to delve into. The book is less than two weeks away now, so it's not that long of a wait. I think I'm fine posting some pages of scenes though.

Either way, thanks again for taking the time and energy to post these. Yeah I thought that too, but I didn't see any mention of it. Though we got Dewspring confirmed to be the father of Nectarsong's kits, so I guess that's alright? Bit disappointed about not learning Reedclaw's though.
For Mothwing and Tawnypelt, I didn't see any. Tawnypelt appeared like once or twice in the book so we didn't see her a whole lot. We did see Mothwing interacting with Tigerstar and she pretty obviously respects him and he respects her, so I suppose that's good enough. But yeah, I was hoping for some sister moments too.
