Howl House
I must say, what is the source of that infernal howling?!
St. Sheadcross has always been a quiet, sleepy town on the shores of England.
Nothing much ever stirs the peace, and folks here like it that way.
Old houses, winding cobblestone roads, and rolling hills and fields make it an idyllic farm community, where most everyone knows everyone.
It's very hard to get your privacy in a place like this, unless you happen to live in the Howell House.
Owned by the Howells, there have been scary stories and spooky rumors about the dilapidated mansion for years.
Even before the Howell family and their adopted children came to live there, tales were told of the ghosts that haunt the manor.
And now with it's new inhabitants, it's only gotten worse.
Directory 1. Intro / Directory / Rules / Affiliated Links 2. Supernatural Species 3. Locations 4. Joining Form / Trackers
Rules - Literacy -- Try to use the best grammar and spelling that you can. We’re going for quality, not quantity, so as long as you give everyone something to work with, we aren’t going to ask for a book. If you want to write a book, that’s cool too.
Godmodding/Spotlighting -- Your character cannot be perfect. We all know this rule by heart by now. Just make sure to give them reasonable flaws and problems.
- Content -- Forums rules are my rules. PG-17 at the very most, no lewd scenes or detailed descriptions of violence or gore outside of the norm. Most swears allowed as long as they’re allowed on the forums.
- Lore Adherence -- This rule is actually strongly enforced. This roleplay is very lore-heavy, and has a lot of information to read. It’s very involved, and your characters need to make sense in the world around them. So I’d really appreciate if everyone took the time to read the information to make sure their characters are the best fit for the universe.

Supernatural Species
and what, pray tell, are you?
Wildemount Werewolf Packs
While the werewolves in St. Sheadcross are connected to the moon, these creatures are better known for being connected to the Prince of Wrath, Satan. Fittingly so, these beings are filled with uncontrollable rage and bloodlust. They can be recognized at night or in dark places as their eyes reflect light into the dark, like an animal. They live in packs, and St. Sheadcross has two living in the Wildemount Forest. One can be found taking home in Silvermane Keep while the other lives in Wildmounth Burrow. Of course, some still venture out and live in the city, but they are a pack first and foremost, and still report to their Hellhounds. Additionally, animals seem to appreciate werewolves, likely due to their animalistic side.
Hellhounds The original werewolves were given their “gift” by Satan at a time where death would have taken them instead. These near-deaths were often involved with rage… anger… wrath. Otherwise, Satan wouldn’t have bothered with them. The prince of wrath, after all, only chooses to save those who embodied his sin. These former humans were filled with rage and bloodlust more extreme than they had ever found before. He gifted them with furs, large wolf furs to drape over their bodies and become a creature with pointed teeth, sharpened claws, and greater senses than ordinary humans would ever have. They became the size of horses, running on all fours and causing chaos wherever they could. Of course, over time, these beings learned how to control their shifting, and have learned to manage their anger and rage. The infected wolves will defect to the Hellhounds, as the Hellhounds are older, more experienced, and have a greater connection to the being who gave them their abilities. They can live to be over 100 years old.
abilities : shift into wolves, increased strength, increased speed, heightened senses weaknesses : silver, nightshade, holy symbols, wolf pelts
Infected The infected wolves don’t always choose their lives. They’ve been bitten by Hellhounds and other infected, and Satan’s gift turns to disease for them. Unlike their higher ups, they shift into ferocious, bipedal, half-wolf, half-man creatures every full moon. However, given their lack of control of emotions, werewolves will shift based on emotions alongside the aforementioned phases of the moon. They have no control and will attack anything that moves. Suffice to say, it’s ever more likely those accidentally infected were infected by these lesser werewolves. They’re likely to live beyond a normal human’s lifespan.
abilities : shift into wolf-men, increased strength, increased speed, heightened senses weaknesses : silver, nightshade, holy symbols, emotions, full moons
Grimbourne Vampire Clan Vampires were endorsed by a different demonic prince, this time of Gluttony. Beelzebub’s influence over the sin influenced how a vampire operates. Required to feed on humans for their blood for the rest of their eternity, there’s a certain amount of gluttony involved as vampires can so easily thirst for blood. It’s thanks to their master that they can mask their unquenchable hunger for blood. Vampires are all immortal, even if the elders are more difficult to kill than the fledglings. While their weaknesses are deadly, in the case that a vampire survives an experience with any of them, they will be forced into hiding and feeding in order to recover and restore themselves. The vampires of St. Sheadcross live in the Grimbourne Manor, hence their clan’s name, just outside of the town. And it should be noted that these vampires are very, very territorial, so rogue vampires are more likely to be killed than allowed to roam free in the town. Of course, some vampires still choose to live a little closer and inside the town itself, as long as they have contact with their elders. Additionally, animals seem to despise vampires, likely due to their undead state.
Elders Beelzebub appeared to the original vampires either on their deathbed or due to a summoning started by a desperate human. The latter route is far riskier as one cannot guarantee Beelzebub’s mood upon the summons. One way or another, if things go well, the demon will offer a deal to the person in need: eternal life with an endless supply of food, or death. It’s a funny situation as the vampire-to-be will die one way or another. At least, in the former option, they come back to life. With their newfound “blessing,” the vampire simply has to wait until they die, and wait to be buried in any kind of grave to reawaken, according to Beelzebub’s instructions. Alongside that, he gave the elder vampires advice to carry some of their grave’s dirt with them as they continued through life, else they find themselves far more vulnerable to death once more. Otherwise, it’s notoriously difficult to kill such beings as themselves.
abilities : immortality, increased strength, increased speed, immunity to sickness, strong influential ability, (two of the following : bat form, flight, telekinesis, telepathy, strongest influential ability, daylight immunity) weaknesses : sun, fire, holy symbols, grave’s dirt
Fledgling A fledgling can only be created by an elder vampire. This is done through blood sharing between the soon-to-be-vampire and elder, as the elder drinks the human’s blood and the human drinks the elder’s blood in turn. This isn’t the end of the process either, as like the elder vampires, to become a vampire one needs to die. It’s much more likely the vampire will kill their fledgling and bury them in a makeshift grave only for them to come back to life. Unlike the elders, a fledgling is not attached to the ground they're buried in, and they don’t need to carry around the dirt from their grave. Of course, they are still naturally weaker than their elders, shown further within their abilities. Depending on which elder turned the fledgling, the fledgling will gain a weakened copy of one of said elder’s powers. (i.e. sonar detection, light levitation, influence over light objects, ability to read people, increased charm, increased daylight immunity.)
abilities : immortality, increased strength, increased speed, immunity to sickness, small influential ability, small daylight immunity, one weakened elder power weaknesses : sun, fire, holy symbols
Fae Courts
There are two fae courts, according to a sense of their inherent moralities, inherited from their stronger parent. After all, fae are the offspring of angels and demons of differing ranks. Due to such genetics, they look less human and have a more difficult time blending in with society, with animalistic and odd features- which is only increased furthermore with the Unseelies. These beings are naturally immortal with an impeccable awareness on what to say. They take words very literally and to insult, live, or for heaven’s sake, give them your name, you will be in grave danger as fae are not kind and forgiving creatures. Do not accept food or drink from a fae, and especially don’t eat it if you’re in one of the courts as you’ll be trapped there forever. The courts can be found within the Wildemount Forest just next to St. Sheadcross, the entrances in ever-changing places. Given the fae frequent the forests outside of their realm, it’s safe to be careful when going through the place. Faes are overall infertile.
abilities : can sense lies, natural magic, ability to charm weaknesses : cannot lie, their true name, silver (unseelie), iron (seelie)
Seelie Court The Seelie Court find themselves leaning on the angelic side of their ancestry. Seelies have an archangel for a parent and a lesser demon as another. This doesn’t prevent the more morally obligated half archangel, half greater demon or half lesser angel, half lesser demon from also choosing to remain in the Seelie Court. The Seelie Court finds themselves ever so more fair to humans and have something of a kinder treatment in regards to them. Their meddling in human affairs is quite often unharmful to the humans involved. The Seelie Court is led by a Queen.
Unseelie Court On the other hand, the Unseelie Court have a greater preference for their demonic side of their lineage. Unseelies find themselves with a greater demon and a lesser angel as parents. The less morally obligated half greater demons, half archangels and half lesser demons, half lesser angels find themselves allying with the Unseelie Court. The Unseelie Court has less care for humans and will treat them quite poorly. Meddling with humans often means causing pain or grief to them for the Unseelies. The Unseelie Court is led by a King.
Ebonguarde Coven The beings listed within this category may not choose to participate in the coven as there is no driving force to be there like the werewolves and their Hellhounds, the vampires and their Elders, the fae and their nobility. It’s highly suggested to be within a coven, however, as you will be allied with others who can protect you. The Ebonguarde Coven serves as such for witches and warlocks both, found in St. Sheadcross. However, their rituals and lessons are best left unseen by the normal public eye, thus the coven spends large amounts of time in the Wildemount Forest.
Sorcerers Sorcerers are the first variation of human-related magic users. They weren’t born with magic, but they made a deal with a demon to get magic. This demon in particular is the prince of envy, Leviathan, fitting for humans envious of the powers the supernatural managed to get on their own. However, in compensation for this gift, Leviathan connected these humans newfound magic to their life force. Thus, anytime they used magic, they’d be taking away pieces of their life ahead. The cost of wanting what others had in this case and scenario. Obviously, due to this, sorcerers have shortened life spans compared to their fellow humans. However, due to the fact Leviathan was kind enough to allow them to remain human, sorcerers are unaffected by holy artifacts, religious symbols, and the like, allowing them to live the rest of their short lives in human society.
abilities : weak magic weaknesses : their magic
Warlocks The second variation of human-related magic users are warlocks. Warlocks are different from witches as warlocks aren’t entirely human. They are a hybrid of a human and demon, allowing them access to far stronger magic than a witch. Unfortunately, given their unique birth, they’re something akin to a mule, as in they are infertile and unable to have children. Warlocks also take on weaknesses from their demonic parents, making most things holy a weapon against them. Warlocks also find themselves in an unfortunate place as their demonic parent gives them an unnatural appearance compared to humans, and are thus unable to blend into human society without a glamour spell that needs to be taught and learned. Warlocks are immortal, unless specifically killed.
abilities : strong magic, immortality weaknesses : holy water, religious symbols, prayer, exorcisms, etc
Ghosts Ghosts are often lone creatures, tied to a location they once held dear to their hearts in their living life. After all, ghosts are remnants and pieces of human souls left behind once the human died. Strong emotional connections keep them on Earth. They aren’t powerful beings by a longshot, however they do have minor telekinetic abilities and are able to pass through solid objects.
abilities : minor telekinesis, ability to pass through walls weakness : holy water, cleansings, prayer, tethered to location
The Howell House The Howl House is owned by a supernatural couple, found a small distance away from the main town. This household not only houses the couple, but their many adopted children, all of which are supernatural beings as well. The children of the house were found in some variation or way by the couple and brought in, each being some variation of the supernatural: werewolf, vampire, fae, witch, warlock, or even ghost. All children in this house are children and unable to live on their own otherwise. They should generally be under the age of 18 and have reason for not being in the group intended for their kind.
The Church and Humans Humans are unimpressive compared to the variety of supernatural creatures that walk the earth. Oftentimes, they find themselves as fodder, food, victims… They are easily targeted and killed by others due to their comparative weakness. However much they’re overlooked doesn’t change the fact that humans come in the dozen. Humans are the main population of the world overall, even if very few are aware of their existence. These few can be very dangerous. Often affiliated with church, these humans are aware of the weakness of the supernatural and use those weaknesses to kill them. After all, being associated with the church gives them an edge up on the rest of the supernatural since many of the supernatural have an affiliation with demons. Not everyone in the church may be a supernatural hunter, but these hunters are almost always a part of the church. So, if you happen to be one the above categories, it’s good to be wary of those who associate with God.
abilities : none weaknesses : none

Howl House
I must say, what is the source of that infernal howling?!
St. Sheadcross Village Brass Turnip Tavern --
A long standing building of the town is the tavern. The original owner’s portrait still hangs in the bar, and despite how his eyes seem to follow visitors around, no one dares to remove it. There’s renowned tales where talking ill of the deceased man seems to lose their drink in hand or find themselves bumping into chairs and tables even when sober. Take the cruel words too far and it’s possible the tavern’s signature symbol, a brass turnip of course, may just fall and crush you as you leave. Of course, it’s easier to blame the sign on loose nails and improper fixing every time. Otherwise it’s a fine place to have a drink, relax, and have fun, as long as you don’t mind the smell of turnips that turns up so strongly on off days. Original Owner Name : Alvin Owner : Ghost : Alvin
King’s Repose Library -- Another old fixture of St. Sheadcross, no one knows what the old name of the library actually was. It was renamed, long ago, for a legend that claims the King of England himself (no one can truly pin down which king, however) had studied in it’s halls once before. The townsfolk were so honored, they apparently immediately renamed the building, and it’s been that way ever since. Librarian : Ghost : Wally "King Wallace" Hackett
Sheadcross Penitentiary -- The penitentiary is an old and imposing building created to house criminals either after or awaiting their trials. Not too much is known about what happens inside the walls, but guards strictly refuse unapproved access and the criminals seen from windows don't look happy Warden: Ghosts: bunch of criminal ghosts tbh, that one helpful ghost
Clover Leaf Apothecary -- This is the first stop for anyone dealing with medical issues. The physician can provide medicines, herbs, different ingredients, or medical advice and procedures to anyone that needs his help. Physician : Oswald Foxglove Physician’s Apprentice:
St. Sheadcross Chapel -- The chapel is a very beautifully built and well taken care of in St. Sheadcross. This is where the townsfolk go for any religious needs or events they may have. Pastor:
Eden Grove Cemetery -- If you really want to see the ghosts of St. Sheadcross, then come to Eden Grove on the night of a new or full moon. Ghosts:
School (Angelwood Academy?) descrip.
The Tilted Anvil -- The blacksmith’s shop is not a very welcoming environment. Hot and loud, the only ones usually occupying it are the blacksmith and apprentice. The blacksmith is also not a very welcoming person, left scarred and stoic after a mysterious accident. While the blacksmith refuses to talk much about it, their suspicious behavior is enough to get the townsfolk questioning it. Blacksmith : Apprentice:
The Lazy Calf -- The Lazy Calf is a building that smells strongly of meat. Here, the local butcher prepares fresh meat to be sold to the townsfolk. While it isn't the most glamorous or well appreciated job, it's invaluable and provides a lot of the meat eaten in the village. Butcher : Apprentice:
Bakery (Bread and Batter?) -- The products are always good and the faint smell of desserts surround this building almost as strongly as the rumors. It is said that the former baker possessed the gift of magic, the products tasting delicious but tainted by this power. Though that baker has passed on and their apprentice took over, the rumors are still swirling and everyone keeps an eye on the unassuming building and those working inside of it. Baker : Apprentice:
The Cotton Bee -- One of the pride and joys of St. Sheadcross, the Cotton Bee is known for their tailor, who has made clothing for the upper class in London, and makes quite a profit from it. They're known to be very skilled in their trade. Tailor : Apprentice:
General Store -- The general store is a quaint building in town that can provide just about anything that anyone may need from food to clothing to household supplies. The goods may be slightly lower quality than the handmade products from the local professionals, but the prices, convenience, and atmosphere can't be beat! Owner :
Neighborhood / Houses -- The houses are all a sight to behold - large, imposing, and uniquely shaped. This is where the people of St. Sheadcross do their daily living activities.
Outside of St. Sheadcross Village Howell House --
Owned by Ephraim Howell, here resides his wife and their children. There are rumors and stories around the town regarding their dilapidated mansion, even stretching before the family came to reside there. Of course, the rumors have only increased as time has gone on given the family’s strange ways and the distance they live outside of the village itself. If only they could shut those hounds up...
Truth be told, Ephraim and his wife have dedicated themselves to the mission of rescuing and adopting orphaned supernatural children and raising them to adulthood. Ghost: Edgar Howell
Grimbourne Manor -- Owned by Conan Tudor, the Grimbourne manor is home to him, his sister, their cousin, alongside others they’ve taken in. Unfortunate circumstances allowed the Tudors to take up residence, as everyone but the young can recall the saddened news of their uncle's death.
Unknown to the human population, the manor is actually home to the local vampire clan. The only one in the immediate area, they tend to be territorial and hostile to outsiders. Clan Elders: Cataline (head) and Conan Tudor, Temperance King Residents: Archie Lewis, Mabel Ghosts:
Black Meadow Estate -- Black Meadow Estate is a large farm on the outside of town, owned by the ____ family. It's a wealthy, rather well to do family, and the farm itself specializes in _____.
Middlesgate Lighthouse -- A desolate lighthouse on the shore, Middlesgate has been around for decades, guiding ships into the safety of Windway Docks. Some say people have died in this lighthouse, and it’s probably true. Occasionally, the lights will turn off in the lighthouse, despite no one having gone inside the building. A prank from the local children? Ghosts? Who knows, really. Lighthouse Keeper:
Windway Docks -- A port out of the village, Windway Docks is both a route away from St. Sheadcross, and the trading port from where most supplies come from.
Wildemount Forest Silvermane Keep --
They're an odd sort of folk, that live out in Silvermane Keep. Formerly an old military garrison, it's known that there is a strange family that bought the Keep to live in, alongside their servants.
The Silvermane pack is led by the Hellhound, _____. They remain true to their human roots, and participate in society, under the guise of a wealthy (but reclusive) family and their staff. Hellhound Alpha: Pack members: Ghosts:
Wildwatch Burrow -- As the name suggests, Wildwatch is a burrow off towards the eastern part of Wildemount Forest. Not many people in the village come out here, as there are vicious beasts rumored to live here, but it’s also said that, for the bravest, there are gold and gems waiting at the bottom.
Wildwatch Burrow is truly home to the Wildwatch Pack, led by the Hellhound, _____. They’re more traditional in their ways, living as animals and at one with the woods. They only rarely make their way into town, and it’s not even assured that they know how to interact with society anymore. Hellhound Alpha: Xander Verlow Pack Members: Ghosts:
Nettlespell Hollow -- No human has ever stepped foot into Nettlespell Hollow. At least...none have never returned from finding it. It's rumored to hold medicines and flowers unknown to humanity, and filled with unearthly beauty.
Really, Nettlespell is a quiet, secluded grove sheltered by the nearby mountains, and serves as the entrance to the Seelie Court, where Queen ______ and her nobles hold court. Humans typically become entranced by the food and waters of the court, the dance of the fae, and forget to ever return home. Seelie Queen: Elodie (daughter of Gabriel) Seelie Nobles : Ferlow Mire Bramblerune Lair --

Cataline Tudor | 18 (physical) / 500 (actual) | Female | Elder Vampire (Clan Lord)
“I’ve heard she deals with demons.”
“Really? I heard she’s actually close to a Catholic church in London.”
“It’s almost like she can read your thoughts…”
“What really did happen to their uncle, over in the manor?”
"She's rather outspoken, for a woman. Maybe a little too much so…"
-- Small and lithe at 5'4", Cataline's presence tends to be larger than she is. The elder vampire has snow-pale skin, almost as if there's no blood behind it, while her eyes are a chilly grey, as cold and sharp as steel. Ash-blonde hair reaches her lower back, with a loose, curly texture that's frequently worn in different ways. Cataline carries herself tall and proud, with her head held high.
-- Cataline and her brother, Conan, were born in 1329, with not a single penny to their names. They eked out a living on the streets, until 1347, when they fell ill to the black death. Before they passed away, they were both approached by a demon -- Beezlebub -- and given am offer. Fearing death, and sick of pain and starvation, the twins agreed. Not much is mentioned of their time from here to now, as 500 years is a lot to cover, but along the way, they discovered another like them -- Temperance -- and joined forces. It's...unsure what led this unusual trio to St. Sheadcross, but they appear to be here to stay.
[Headphone Actor]
Ephraim Howell | 32 | Male | Infected Werewolf (Silvermane)
"Such an odd man, where did he come from?"
"I do wish he'd silence those hounds at night."
"I've heard he uses those children he takes in as little thieves."
"He does seem to contribute a lot to the church, though."
"Is he ill? Sometimes he won't be seen in town for days at a time!"
-- Ephraim is a massive, imposing man, reaching heights of 6'2", with a hulking, muscular build. His skin has been darkened from working in the sun, wrinkled around his eyes and mouth. His eyes are a soft, mossy green, but he has a large scar across the right side of his face, as if he's been attacked by a beast. His curly hair is a light, sandy brown, with a matching beard of a medium length.
-- Born in 1814, Ephraim was raised by his family in York until the age of five years old. At three, he was attacked by a beast -- now identified as a werewolf -- and still bears the scars on his face from the attack. His family tried to ignore his newfound condition, but by five, they'd had enough, and gave him to a local abbey to keep him near the Lord. It was here he was raised by Benedictine monks until he was nearly fourteen years old, before even the monks had to admit defeat and send him away. Ephraim spent the next few years pushing and working and saving, researching into his condition, and meeting his wife, Elsie. Now with the means to buy a home of his own, they've taken to raising other abandoned supernatural children, to give them the stable family they -- and Ephraim -- had been denied as a child.
[Headphone Actor]
Lan Howell | 12 | Female | Human (Howell Family)
"I'm guessing her original parents traded her for an opium fix."
"She's rather curious about Dr. Foxglove and his work, does she want to be in medicine?"
"All of those explosions and messes she makes! The Howells need to do something about her!"
"She's hardly seen out of the company of those other girls the Howells took in, I wonder if she can be trusted alone."
"I personally think that she's a witch. You don't mix together all those potions without wanting to cause harm."
-- Lan is a tiny, frail bird of a girl. She only reaches about 4'10", and always seems to be leaning just a little bit forward, as if she's about to scamper off somewhere else. Her skin is a dark cream color, while her eyes are a bright and curious brown. Lan's hair is shoulder-length, straight and a soft black-brown.
-- Not much is known about Lan. It's assumed she was born in 1836, and she was brought into England when she was young, maybe as little as two or three. Asking Lan about this time of her life is fruitless, because she doesn't remember, herself. She wandered off from her original caretakers at some point, and found her way into an orphanage near St. Sheadcross. Over the years, up until she was ten, the rumors spread of an oddly behaved "witch baby" in the area. Within the past two years, Lan was brought into the Howell family, where she was discovered to actually be human, no supernatural, and just kept anyway.
[Headphone Actor]
Archer “Archie” Lewis | 15 (physical) / 17 (actual) | Male | Grimbourne Fledgling (Cataline)
"I've heard dreadful things about his family, simply dreadful. Drug trades, criminal behavior."
"Maybe taking this honest job with the Grimbournes will straighten him out. He doesn't seem like a bad egg."
"I do wonder what happened to his folks. Perhaps their luck just finally caught up with them."
"They must not be feeding that boy right, up at the manor. I saw him eat a cut of meat -- nearly raw! -- the other day!"
"He seems to like it well enough up there, though. I don't think I've ever seen that boy smile so much."
-- Archie is a wispy little reed of a boy, tall and lanky and around 5'11". His skin is ghostly pale, and splattered with freckles, often with a cheeky grin on his face. His eyes are a faded looking blue, and he had a mop of dark, reddish brown hair with the faintest hints of a beard on his chin.
-- Archie was born in 1829, into a poor family in London. He lived in the city until he was thirteen, when they moved to St. Sheadcross. The Lewis family was absolutely rife in violent crimes, some of which even extended to their children. Having had enough, Archie searched and searched for a solution to his problems, eventually learning of the supernatural in St. Sheadcross at fifteen, specifically of the Grimbourne Clan. He hired them to kill his family, and in return, works for them, where he was changed
[Headphone Actor]
Wallace “Wally/King Wallace” Hackett | 30 (physical) / 200 (actual) | Male | Library Ghost
Wally Hackett (professionally known as "King Wallace") haunts the King's Repose library, where he is known as the "King" in question. As far as the people in the library are concerned, he's some wacky, foreign King with fun stories and a disposition for pranks and jokes. He can be persuaded to tell stories, although their validity can be put to question.
-- Wally was probably tall, in life. He's lost a couple inches, over the centuries. Probably to...you know, losing his head. With an unruly head of straw-blonde hair and amused green eyes, Wally looks like a troublemaker. His clothing is actually rather fancy, which is a strange contrast with his thick Northern accent. Moves exuberant, occasionally tossing and juggling his head around.
-- In life, Wallace Hackett wasn't a King. Or any sort of royalty of any form. He was a con man, pure and simple. Not a malicious one, mind you, but still a hack, like his name suggests.

Matilda "Matty" Claire Howell | 13 years old | female (she/her) | Warlock biromantic bisexual // #94c180, rgb (148, 193, 128) // february 13, 1833, aquarius * It's rumoured that she managed to get her hands on and read every book in town. * It's rumoured that she snuck out of her house to sleep in the nearby swamp-area. * It's rumoured that she could be the supposedly dead daughter of a nobleman a few cities away. * It's rumoured that she eats bugs out of the air, like a frog. * It's rumoured that she bundles herself up in blankets during winter and goes everywhere with them on.
-- Matty is a child of Mammon and it shows within very frog-like traits across her body. While her skin is mostly normal, there are these round patches across her body that look to be far more wrinkled and have a certain tinge of green-brown to them. More often than not, warts appear in the patches and it's an odd texture compared to normal skin. Small freckles cover her body too, outside of the patched areas. Her hair is of a similar greenish-brown color and hangs low down her back, seeing as she doesn't tie it up. Her fingers are webbed together quite noticeably and it makes papercuts absolute hell to deal with. Her tose are webbed in a similar manner. She lacks eyebrows and her eyes themselves resemble a frog's quite similarly. Her nose is flattened towards her face, leaving it to question if she even has a proper nose or just the nostril holes in her face. Whenever her mouth is closed, her tongue sticks out as her tongue is frog-like long and doesn't sit comfortably in her mouth otherwise.
-- Matty was born in a rich, well-off family. Months before she was born, her mother had found herself getting married to a nobleman. Months before that her mother had made a deal with a demon. She wanted money and a good, rich life. It's difficult to call the two events as circumstance. Of course, her mother also got knocked up by the demon, Mammon, something that didn't become apparent until after Matty's birth. It had been assumed the child's father was the nobleman, but upon birth and seeing the features that just didn't look right, there was doubt and questions. Only amongst the maids present at birth, and though they spread rumors to the rest of the staff, only those maids were allowed to tend to the child. The supposed father wasn't even allowed to visit his daughter, not that he particularly cared as she was a daughter. Matty's mother doted on her as often as she could. Matty had siblings born in the following few years, but Matty was the only one she actively visited as often as she could. It didn't catch the attention of the nobleman until a talkative maid (one whom he was having relations with) revealed the strange appearance of Matty and her mother's favoritism towards her. He could recognize Matty for what she was, a demonspawn. In a furious rage, her mother was killed in an attempt to get the noble away from her daughter. As for Matty, the noble ordered one of his servants to take the girl far away, where no one would find them, and kill the girl. The servant followed the instructions up to a point. He took Matty, merely 5 years old at this time to mention, to a town far away. But he didn't kill her. He, himself, was affiliated with demons by nature and found it unfair to take it out on a child who had no choice in her birth. So, he sought out and sniffed around to find any other supernaturals that might take in a warlock child. It was luck when he found a house that smelled of a mix of scents of different creatures and in a hope, he placed the five year old just outside the residence and left. And thus, Matty was adopted into the Howell household and has been happily, comfortably living there since. She picked up a large interest in learning how to read there and enjoys rainy days. She's even adopted a little toad she found outside as a pet, a creature she's affectionately named Chapter.

-- Azariah is 6'2 and weighs an average amount. He's not a particularly stunning man to look at, with average features and an average build. He has brown hair that curls at the tips and similarly coloured brown eyes. He's identifiable by the clothes he wears, robed in typical priest garments and all. Alongside that, he's rarely seen without a briefcase in hand, and despite being asked, he brushes off though questions. He wears an iron cross on a silver-chain necklace around his neck and refuses to take it off.
-- Born in London to a mother and father in a small house in the city, Azariah grew up religious and indoctrinated into his faith. His life was fairly average up until he was ten years old. His father had some business in a further off town and chose to bring his wife and son along. It was supposed to be a short trip, go there and go back home at night. Azariah's family arrived just fine, the business was done and night took over day. It was at night they were attacked. Azariah wasn't able to identify what they were at the time, but he knew they weren't human. His mother and father died. One of the horses pulling the cart had been unhooked and ran. Azariah doesn't know if it survived. But he recalled making it out alive, somehow. Panicked and startled, he came back to London. It was discovered the next day his parents had been killed, and out of some sense of obligation, the local church Azariah attended supplied him with food and home. At the same time, they taught him. They told him what the creatures were that killed his parents and they told him how to kill them back. They introduced more creatures, similar to those, all having one key thing in common: some attachment to a demon. Azariah dedicated his life to God and ridding Earth of these sinful beings. He continued to live around London until recently, when the church discovered the previous priest of the town had died of mysterious circumstances. Azariah immediately volunteered to take religious leadership of the town of St. Sheadcross. After all, why wouldn't he want to revisit the town his parents were murdered in?

Temperance Mercy King | 23 years old physically, actually 70 years old | female (she/her) | Elder Vampire (Grimbourne Clan (bat form & telekinesis)) panromantic pansexual // #d9844a, rgb (217, 132, 74) // july 28, 1776, leo * It's rumoured that she played part in the recent start-up of the irish potato famine. * It's rumoured that she fled from France to her cousins in England to avoid being married. * It's rumoured that she doesn't truly believe in God despite her claims otherwise. * It's rumoured that her horse is a demon in disguise. * It's rumoured that sunlight makes her skin burn hideously, hence why she only comes out at night.
-- Temperance stands at 5'8 and is of healthy size. However, the combination of her pale skin and fiery ginger hair makes an off-putting and startling difference when looking at her. Her hair is cut short at her shoulders, though her curls seem to make the hairstyle look shorter than that still. Her eyes are of an amber-brown, the amber-red showing particularly well when the light hits them. Said light is more likely to be candlelight as Temperance no longer sees sunshine long enough for the colors to show. Her clothes are often in colors of purples and blues, dulled and darkened in such a way she finds pleasurable to see on herself. She has a locket filled with her grave dirt around her neck (the rest of the dirt remains sitting in a jar) and the locket is engraved with a small cross.
-- Temperance was born in 1776 in Versailles, France. She was a noblewoman by birth and lived among the rich in the city that held the king and queen. She grew up wealthy and well situated, and it wasn't until she was 23 that her life got shaken up. The French Revolution had begun and there was a hunt for anyone close to having blue blood. It didn't take long for Temperance to realize her soon-to-be-fate as she was captured and imprisoned, while waiting for death. They starved her. In a desperate attempt to survive, as Temperance was unwilling to die so easily, she summoned the demon Beelzebub. She was lucky the demon of gluttony was in a fine mood, but it wasn't as if she had much to lose if he were to kill her anyway. She offered her soul to him if he could help her to simply survive the war. He gave her one better, to survive eternity if she was lucky enough. She accepted the deal and with firm instructions on what to expect, Temperance awaited her death. She expected to die of starvation first, but soon after the deal was made, she was brought to trial. She merely laughed in the faces of the men who thought they were so intimidating. They sentenced her death by guillotine. She laughed while being situated, and not a moment did she fight back. Her final, living words to the men and woman watching her execution were, "I'll see you all in hell." She died. She was buried, surprisingly enough. And then she awoke. Brand new, head attached, and hungry. She made her way out of the dirt and grabbed a handful of dirt to take with her. It wasn't efficient as she had no case to hold it in, but it would work long enough to get one. And to sate the hunger just a little bit. She's ashamed to say the first few deaths were accidents, she hadn't meant to drain them so easily, but it worked. Along the way, she got a glass jar and returned to her grave and collected as much dirt that would fit. Then she started to clean herself and get ready for the main show. She dressed in lavish clothes, as close as she could find to her clothes dirtied by death. She styled her hair and got ready to greet her murderers. They were shocked. They were surprised. They called her a demon and she laughed since they were barely off the mark. They prayed to their God and she laughed once more as no God would let a being like her exist. She apologized that she seemed to greet them before they all met together in hell, but promised she'd find them in the case she found herself there. Then, the men died. Temperance believes there is no sweeter, better tasting blood, than from a body sucked dry thanks to revenge. She's made a point since to control herself a little better, to leave the only dead caused by her fangs finished with the executioner that sent the blade chopping through her neck. Of course, France was no longer a home available to her. Revolution and havoc was happening, she couldn't return to her position as her king and queen were to be killed. So, she left. To England of all places, heaven's knows why. Ha! A few years after staying there, Temperance heard rumors of others like her. A pair of twins who had been blessed by the same demon that Temperance had been blessed with. She sought them out. She was lucky they accepted her into their ranks. Much to say, she's found living in the Grimbourne Clan quite comfortable ever since.

Foxglove had been aware demons and angels existed for far longer, his first experience with magic being the faes in the forest. As a child, he played out there and met the strange folk, kept it in mind ever since. Never had he become desperate enough to try and gain magic himself though, until his wife's death. He's been living his life since, with the only regret being the knowledge his rash nature would prevent him from seeing his beloved in the afterlife. Hi this is my save post
I do believe I’m claiming the unseelie king but that’s all I have for definite at this point)
text. "Speech". think
Oren Ó Fhionnbhairr | Physical Age: Young Adult | Actual: Rude of you to ask | Male | Unseelie King | "Choose your words ever so carefully, that's my advice" "I heard he's from an ancient lineage of fae kings, but heaven only knows what he did to get the throne" "Best not to ask too many questions. You won't like the answers you get." "Apparently he wasn't always with the Unseelie court, but you didn't hear that from me." "He doesn't take kindly to humans - or anyone, in fact."-- Oren’s appearance is striking, perhaps not surprising for the king of the Unseelie fae. He is perhaps not overtly animalistic, but he most certainly does not look human. If he did look like an animal, he certainly does not look like one of the human world. He is tall and slender; some might say it makes him look elegant and graceful; combined with his pale, almost silvery skin he is reminiscent of the silver birch tree. Others say it makes him look like death, skeletal. How you perceive him might depend on his mood, though he is rarely in the mood for visitors. His hair is pure white and seems almost to glitter in certain lights like snow in the sunshine; indeed, Oren’s appearance is like winter personified. Beautiful but cold and merciless. It would not be advisable to be exposed to him too long. His eyes are grey but can easily turn so stormy and dark they appear almost black, but you’re in danger long before they get to that point should you have angered him. His face shows very little emotion, and it is often difficult to judge whether he is pleased or displeased with you; he will lead you to your ruin without so much as a flicker in his expression. His eyebrows are arched, his features well-formed but sharp, with a thin nose and high, sharp cheekbones. He is cold but poised, his face set but betraying no warmth. He is more beautiful than is often assumed though, like fresh snow or crystalline ice. Just expect him to be as unyielding as the winter cold. He often wears dark clothes with pops of red to stand out against the paleness of his appearance, but instead it simply reminds one of blood against snow. Any jewellery he wears is made neither of iron nor silver; instead he might wear copper or brass. Dark gemstones like onyx are enjoyed by him, but he also might wear glass, clear crystals, or diamond in order to add to the icy nature of his appearance. Otherwise, garnets and rubies provide the pops of red he adores. -- Very little is known about Oren’s history currently. The rumour is he hails from Ireland, as his surname suggests links to Fionnbharr, a fae king who ruled in the west of Ireland. As fae are infertile, it is clear that Oren cannot have been Fionnbharr’s descendant, so many believe that he actually was once Fionnbharr and now operates under a new name which he took on upon arriving at St Sheadcross. Fionnbharr was a kindly king, and therefore it is uncertain whether Oren was once a more kindly king of the Unseelie court or whether he was even once a Seelie ruler himself who changed his allegiances. What is very clear, however, is that something happened which led Oren to move from Ireland, and some say the very same thing caused him to truly harden his heart against humans, making him cruel even for an Unseelie ruler. As for his lineage, this is rather uncertain, as his angelic lineage is known only to Oren himself at this point - though many assume his angelic parent is one to do with death or war. However, his demonic parent is Belphegor, the demon who tempts humans with laziness and inventions to make them rich. Rather fitting for a fae, especially an Unseelie fae who enjoys maliciously tempting and tricking humans. [ ƤαƖƖαѕ ✧ ]

Edgar Howell It turns out life doesn't always end at death...
Edgar Howell | Physical Age: 18 | Actual Age: 108 | Male | Ghost
Tied to Howell house and the grounds that surround it
-- -- Edgar, with the obvious disadvantage of being a ghost, still manages to be relatively attractive. He was tall in life which has carried over to his more incorporeal form, with medium length ash blonde hair and blue grey eyes. His eternal outfit is that which he was laid to rest in, and that he was most proud of in life a smart black hunting jacket over a crisp white shirt and pale cream breeches finished with fine leather riding boots.
-- -- Born 7th April 1739, a day well remembered by most for reasons unrelated to Edgar's birth but as the date of execution of the Highwayman Richard Turpin. The Eldest son of the Lord Darry, a prideful man who had earned his lordship by extorting taxes of small holdings further inland. When his pregnant wife, Edgars Mother had grown ill the physician advised a move to the coast did they purchase what is now Howell House, a sprawling manse of the building where Edgar was born, and where he died. It was said the house was cursed, and for those with a weak mind it was easy to believe as sure enough the formerly prosperous Darry family soon fell on hard times with poor business choices, strange illnesses and unfortunate accidents plaguing them. Edgar took on an apprenticeship with the head groom, a natural affinity for horses and the sales of the animals he trained and bred at times the only thing that kept the family afloat. When he grew sick with Tuberculosis it was a surprise to all, he had always been such a healthy boy and his death was the final push his family needed to leave St Sheadcross for good, leaving Edgar trapped and alone.
[Kurai] Xander Verlow Passion and shame torment him, and rage is mingled with his grief
Xander Verlow |l Age: 29 | Male | Hellhound of Wildwatch Burrow
"I heard that he's more beast than man" "I'm not surprised I heard he killed his lover in a jealous rage" "Why does he never come into town anymore?" "The sign of a guilty conscious" "I wouldn't say any of this to his face, I've heard he has a real temper"
-- -- An impressive man, if he can still be called such, if you can see past the beast. Tall and dark. He towers over most at 6'4 his raven black hair falling just long enough for him to pull it back into a short ponytail. When left loose it falls just below his shoulders in gentle waves. His eyes are liquid amber, flashing gold in certain lights and darkening to near black when enraged. Xander is most content when in his lupine form, when he allows rage to wash through him and embrace the relief that comes with it. That beast is as black as a moonless night and reflects Xanders human height. It is said Hell hounds can be as large as a horse, and with that in mind this wolf is a Shire, with paws the size of dinner plates.
On the increasingly rare occasions he is in human form he chooses not to wear shoes and would perhaps forego clothing entirely if not for the more prudish members of the pack. Instead he wears a light, loose fitting shirt and tattered trousers when the situation calls for it. With the sable wolf skin thrown across his shoulders like a cloak.
-- -- Born in London, the bastard son of a woman of zero renown he was quickly passed off to an orphanage. A tall boy even in his youth with a wildness in his gaze, he was taken in by a con-man who saw potential. Xander's early life revolved around petty crimes, picpocketing, and theft both of which he developed a knack for but it was as he reached the age of 10 he showed his true usefulness to his adopted guardian. A brute, a dirty fighter who, although lean could more than hold his own against most opponents. Betting on street fights became his master's newest money making scheme and Xander was his ringer, after all, who would suspect a 10 year old boy could hold his own against grown men? For several years this was his life, fighting whomever, or whatever he was instructed to, his body becoming toned with hard muscle and his skin littered with scars. When he finally had enough he stole a horse and fled the city, a Vagabond roaming the country, fighting, stealing and eventually killing to survive. It was the love of a good woman that tamed the Vagabond for a time at least, settling down on a small homestead a mile or two from St Sheadcross. In that moment he was happy, but he had learned that never lasted. What happened that night is known only by himself and Satan.

Cataline Tudor Elder Vampire and Master of Grimbourne
"Well, that's definitely dead." It sounded like a ridiculous statement, sure. It was a ridiculous statement. If someone asked Cataline under the right conditions, she thought it was a ridiculous situation, on top of it all. Sure, she was no stranger to dead bodies. Far from it. But the difference of the matter was that...most of the creatures in St. Sheadcross tried to avoid the wanton murder of their more mundane townsfolk. It was suspicious, and Cataline could understand their caution. She didn't wholly follow it, but that was...kind of the awkward situation.
This hadn't been her.
Her next logical train of thought wandered, curiously, to Archie. He was young and untrained, a little more reckless and a lot less careful. But as she looked up to the bright red hair of her ward, circling the scene and studying it like some kind of bizarre flaming vulture...that didn't quite add up either.
"I thought we asked you lot to be careful," Barely audible, even to her ears, Cataline picked up Ephraim's grumble from beside her. She wasn't sure quite what to think of the Howell's patriarch, not really. He, for sure, didn't like the newcomers at Grimbourne, for the sake of being new and unfamiliar with the "unspoken rules" between the creatures of Sheadcross. But he kept to his own, and typically didn't antagonize her clan, so she couldn't say she hated him.
It didn't mean his assumption wasn't unfounded and entirely rude, though.
"Wasn't us. Look at it." No one from Grimbourne had killed Thomas, the baker. There was blood all over his body, coming out of it, everything. Therefore, it wasn't a vampire attack and her clan was innocent. "Looks more like an animal attacked him," Was it a cruel assumption to make, coupled with the pointed look towards the savage werewolf next to her? Yes, especially since he was far from the only disciple of Satan in this town. But it was only fair, to her, seeing as he'd just callously bumbled in here, with his assumptions and his accusations.
Drooling bastard.
Ephraim's mouth snapped open, as if to bark back a sharp retort, but his attention was torn away from the argument when he had more pressing matters to deal with, "Lan? Lan, please, let the nice men work." His tone was exasperated, and Cataline could only guess why. The youngest of the Howell pack was pestering the policemen on the job, tugging on their coattails and asking questions. Probably about the dead body, if Cataline could only guess by what she knew about the girl.
She was a curious one.
Ephraim had taken the child in, from what she understood, not knowing anything about her background, and assuming (from local gossip, no doubt) that she was actually a witch. Which was pretty idiotic, since she doubted a child could really pull all the stops and make a deal with a demon. That was a little presumptuous, not that she believed the Howell man was a stranger of those. As the werewolf went to corral his daughter, Cataline began looking for the other two girls that accompanied the so-called "witch girl", knowing they weren't too far behind. They never were.
Instead, she caught sight of her brother and "cousin", throwing them a baleful look that hopefully also looked at least slightly mortified. They were staring at a mauled corpse, she supposed.
In the background, she heard the little Howell girl questioning her family, now. "Why don't we just wait 'til he's a ghost, and ask him who killed him then?"

Temperance King Temperance did not snort when Cataline tossed her a glance regarding the situation. She managed to hold her solemn look, no matter how false that was, even if Cataline's look of willful hope to do so seemed utterly hilarious given the girl had just called the dead body a 'that.' She was lucky none of the average folk crawling around the place to observe their fallen friend had caught onto what would be considered a blatant sign of disrespect for the poor, beloved baker.
"Animalistic indeed," Temperance agreed. Cataline certainly wasn't wrong. It looked more like a mauling caused by a feral beast given the messy, waste of blood. Her words weren't directed towards anyone in particular, aside from the wolfish beasts that found themselves at this early morning scene (the sun hadn't yet arose at any rate, but Temperance was still keeping a cautious eye on the skies).
Of the two she could recall the names of, one was busy hurdling his kids around. She was tempted to make a comment about how inappropriate it must be to have such young children so near a dead body. The other, the butcher, was shaking head at the scene with a light tut, tut, tut sound made with the clack of his teeth. A disapproval at the scene, though Temperance was unwilling to dissect why. Werewolves really had no shame, no matter how many other differences they had amongst one another.
Her eyes flicked over to the small child that Ephraim had yet to properly leash, ironic given that that child wasn't even the pup of the family. She was half-tempted to dive in to answer the girl, but before a word could get out, was cut off by a different voice.
"It's unlikely the ghost of the man would even remember the incident that led to his demise," an elderly, warm voice responded. Temperance supposed she should have expected to see Foxglove in the area. Dead people attracted a crowd. Dead people also attracted the town's physician, as it so appeared. Of course, on a second consideration, it was entirely possible it was merely the Howell family being in town that attracted the physician.
Despite that, Temperance let herself listen on to the old man's explanation to any of the children that would listen. "His ghost will only be a remnant of who he was, where his actual person and soul will find itself in heaven." Temperance wrinkled her nose at the mere gall he had to say that to these young ones, most of which would never find themselves there. "He'll act as though he were still alive, unaware of his death even if he will look dead to us. And, this is all under the assumption his soul even left a fragment behind to talk to."
Temperance watched as he moved upwards into a standing position in order to allow the little frog child, who didn't look much like a frog as of now- her eyes flicked back to the old man- to talk to her sister about the new information. "Next time I go to the library, I'm going to ask Mr. Wally if he remembers his death," the child firmly stated. A little doubter, determined to prove the statement of her elder, it seemed.
Foxglove, on the other hand, having arisen to face Ephraim at the least, seeing as he wasn't against the rest of the supernatural beings hear, spoke to the man, "That being said, we should keep an eye on the bakery at least for any new specters. Potentially any other places Mr. Thomas hung around." Temperance didn't know if the old man was just soft on all the shop owners of the town or if he had lied to the girls and a ghost could provide their cause of death.
Ghosts weren't much her cup of tea anyhow. Whether or not the baker came back from the dead in the form of a ghost wasn't something she'd be actively checking on. Ugh, and she actually liked the bakery. If it suddenly got filled up with a ghostly being, she'd be absolutely forced to stop going.
Albeit, she considered, there wasn't much point in going to the bakery if the baker wasn't very much alive.
That train of though got easily distracted with a new addition to the crowd. Or rather, a new addition to the town. Temperance stiffened for a moment, reminiscent of stiff muscles and joints she had awoken with from a dead body as a new vampire. As quickly as it appeared, she softened the tension as the priest, Azariah, appeared to be more focused on the dearly departed than he was the arrangement of crowd surrounding said departed.
She wasn't the only one she could see was upset with the new arrival, eyes flickering to the butcher's not-so-very hidden grimace as he turned around to move into his shop to open up for the rest of the day. That's certainly one way to avoid the man.
On the matter of daily activities, her eyes flicked back towards the sky in a caution, as it would be mighty unfortunate if the sun, arising from it's night slumber, would come up and burn her to a sad little crisp. Perhaps Newt the butcher had the right idea in taking this as a well enough time to leave.
Brushing past Cataline to murmur her departure, "I am taking my leave now," Temperance whisked around in a turn that may have been slightly too dramatic given the present situation. She'd have no idea if anyone's eyes glanced at the movement in the air, but at very least she could claim to have more style than the damn dog who had left just previous to her.

Ayishah Amari Howell make a little room for imperfection in your life
"Lan, sweetheart," Ayishah started off, leaning closer to her younger sister. "Please stop talking." Ayishah couldn't manage to be polite, due to the situation. Someone was dead and it looked like a werewolf and Lan was talking about ghosts. The younger girl was lucky that only the Supernatural had heard her, otherwise it would just come up as proof when someone finally made a public accusation about Lan being a witch.
It was a problem.
Ayishah loved her family, she did. Ephraim and Elsie were more her parents than her own blood. Edgar, Clayton, Matilda, Grover and Lan were all her siblings. There was love there, an undercurrent of anything they did to each other. She would excuse anything they did because of their familial bond. It meant that she had to protect all of them, even from their own big mouths or wild actions.
She looked to the Doctor as he explained, and got confused the more he spoke. Maybe it was because he would be a new ghost instead of one older, like Edgar? Or, the old man wasn't as intelligent as he thought himself. Either way, Ayishah wasn't going to publicly question him. She would ask her father his opinion on the Doctor's comments about ghosts before making a judgement call on his intelligence and telling Matilda to stop visiting him.
Clearing her throat, Ayishah clasped her hands together in front of her, wanting to leave the situation before anything got worse. "Father, I don't think the children should be seeing this, it's rather violent." From an outside perspective, Ayishah knew that everything she was doing looked suspect. It was an animal attack, of course she could've done it while transformed. The whole family was capable of losing control and killing someone. So wanting to leave might've looked weird.
In all honesty, Ayishah just didn't like looking at all the blood.

Clayton “Clay” Owen Howell | 15 | Male | Infected Werewolf (Howell Family) “That boy has no manners, it’s like he was raised by wolves!”
“I’ve heard he runs wild through the woods, with bare feet no less!”
“I heard that those Howells found him in the woods one day and brought him home like a pet.”
“He has a lovely singing voice though, I wonder if he takes lessons?”
“He’s taken quite the interest in fairytales and folklore, I hope he realizes that’s all nonsense.” -- Clay is a tall and lanky boy and definitely looks the role of a gangly teenager that hasn’t quite grown until his height yet, his skin is naturally a fair, pale color, however due to constantly being out in the sun, Clay’s actually developed a decent tan, not that anyone could really tell what he looks like underneath the thick layer of dirt that seems impossible to get off of his skin though. His hair is dark, chocolate brown and very fluffy with a hint of curls mixed into it as well, it’s thick though it isn’t too long, it comes down just past his ears and covers his face in a mop of chocolate curls, he has a wide smile with a gap between his two front teeth and two dimples, his ears are kind of big and stick out, and the left ear has a small cut in it from a fight he has gotten into when he was younger. Finally, Clay’s eyes are a dark amber brown with flecks of lighter amber mixed in and it’s extremely rare to ever find Clay wearing shoes or proper clothing in general. Once he transforms, Clay becomes a sort of creamy colored wolf, his underside is a soft cream color while his back is a mix of grey and ginger, he’s especially fluffy as a wolf and definitely looks just as much of a gangly teenager in his wolf form as he does a human. -- Not much is known about Clay’s past, he looks to be about fifteen, so that’s how old he claims to be, even though there’s nothing to really back this up as he grew up in the woods by himself, though he claims to have been raised by a pack of wolves. He remembers nothing of his life before the woods and didn’t even have a name when the Howell family found him, he was adopted into the family about five years ago and although he has slowly become more accustomed to the life of a normal human, he’s still unpredictable and wild, he hasn’t quite learned how to have manners yet and he tends to ask a million questions a minute, it’s also safe to assume that he was bit when he was younger and turned into a werewolf, however Clay doesn’t really remember when, how, or why it happened either, for him he’s just always been this way and never really bothered to question why, and although he loves his new family dearly, it’s rather common to find him out in the woods, hesitant to return to civilized life, as he still doesn’t quite feel like he belongs there. [ 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖] Josephine Myrtle Boswell | 20 | Female | Warlock (Ebonguarde Coven) “Did you hear that she turned down another suitor recently? It seems as if she is determined to become an old maid.”
“Well, I can’t say I blame her, I heard her mother had her out of wedlock, perhaps it runs in the family.”
“She’s always so reserved, keeping to herself and all those books of hers, I wonder what she’s studying…”
“She never comes to church, it’s almost as if she’s afraid to meet the pastor’s eye.”
“I’ve heard that her beauty is cursed and that she’s involved in devil worship, I’d stay away from her if I were you.” --Josephine is a rather beautiful woman, she’s 5’6” in height and has an elegant, petite build to her, her skin is fair and soft with not a blemish on it, it’s pale in color but not a nasty, sickly pale either. Her eyes are a vibrant sky blue with flecks of gold in the iris and are easily the first thing that most people notice about her, as her eyes are far more vibrant than most and stand out in a crowd. Her hair is a soft, honey golden color that’s been cut short, falling just about her shoulders in loose, bouncy curls. Honestly she’s quite pretty, however perhaps that’s from having Asmodeus as her father, which happens to come with its own set of problems as well, namely the sheep horns sprouting from her head and the sheep ears as well, however luckily the horns aren’t too big yet and she usually manages to hide both her horns and her ears underneath a hat, due to this though, Josephine is never seen without something to cover her head with and she refuses to take off her hat around others, even when she is inside, however since she keeps all of that covered up, no one is aware of the demon like features and she appears to be quite the belle of the ball. -- Josephine was born in the year 1826 to a single mother, this was especially scandalous as her mother happened to be a young noble lady without a husband, of course this ended poorly for her and no man wanted to marry her after that, eventually Josephine grew tired of the rumors and side glances and left, moving to St. Sheadcross as soon as she was old enough. She’s lived here since and kept to herself, living a quiet life, and although Josephine doesn’t know for sure who her father is, she’s done enough research to believe that it’s most likely Asmodeus, given the demon traits that she has picked up from her father. Josephine struggles with her origin and as such, feels as though she isn’t welcome in church and tends to avoid attendance, she’s the town’s librarian and works at the King’s Repose Library with Wally the ghost. [ 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖] Rafael Angelo La Fayette | Physical Age: 17 | Actual Age: 102 | Male | Vampire (Grimbourne fledgling, turned by Cataline) “He’s a handsome man, that one, I wonder why he hasn’t settled down?”
“He’s reckless, always jumping into danger, he has no regard for anyone’s safety!”
“I heard he doesn’t get along with Cataline Tudor, I wonder what happened between them?”
“He tells such amazing stories, it feels like he was really there for them all!”
“I’ve heard that he's got quite the temper, I wouldn’t want to be on his bad side.” --Tall and well built, Rafael stands at 6’0” with lean muscles as he isn’t exactly bulky, however it’s clear that he works hard on his appearance as well, his skin is a soft brown color with one, large freckle on his left cheek, his eyes are a sort of amber color that makes them appear orange in the light and brown in the dark, he also has a wide grin with dimples on both sides and sharp fangs. His hair is a dark brown that appears black in the dark, it’s shoulder length and curly, thick and untamable, however sometimes he can pull it back into a ponytail if he tries, and if he ever does tie it back, it’s tied back with a colorful ribbon of sorts because Rafael for one, likes to accessorize, which on that note, Rafael tends to dress in rather fancy clothes, which he will loosely hang from his body as he thinks this makes him more appealing to others. -- Born 102 years ago in France, Rafael spent the first seventeen years of his life getting into trouble and helping out on his family’s farm, however his family was poor and the taxes were too much for them, his parents were slowly starving and his little sister (Jeanne La Fayette) had fallen ill, so Rafael did what he could to make up for it, he started to steal food and medicine for his family, even though his parents strongly advised him against it. Eventually he got into a fight with his father about it, his father told him that by doing this, he was risking the entire family’s lives. Rafael ignored him and continued to steal what they needed, however since he didn’t heed his father’s warnings, his father turned him. Shocked and heartbroken that his family would betray him, Rafael attacked the gendarmerie and accidentally killed one of them, this shook Rafael to his core and he stopped fighting arrest after that, accepting his fate that he was going to be killed. Luckily for Rafael, he was saved by the Tudor siblings and Cataline turned him into a vampire, and ever since then he has stayed with the Tudor siblings and remained loyal to them, however he’s begun to become more and more rebellious towards them (namely Cataline) and probably needs to be leashed or something like that. [ 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖] Rowena | Physical Age: young adult | Actual Age: old | Female | Fae (Seelie Court) “She’s never around anymore, I wonder where she goes?”
“I heard she once fell in love with a human that died…”
“Really? I’ve heard she’s turned against all humans completely.”
“Who cares about her thoughts on humans? We should be more worried over her loyalties to us!”
“I’ve heard that she conspires with the unseelie court in her free time…” -- Small and petite, Rowena only comes to about 5’1” and looks like you could easily snap her in half, she has very pale skin and is covered in light freckles across her face, down her neck, her shoulders, and her thighs. Her eyes are a dark, turquoise blue in color and her hair is a dark, ebony black that is long and wavy and is usually done up in a different hairstyle every day. She also appears rather angelic at first glance, as she walks with a certain level of grace to her and her eyes seem almost ethereal in appearance. -- Born from the angel Azrael and a minor demon, a large portion of Rowena’s history is unknown as she refuses to share it, however at some point in the mid 1400s, Rowena fell in love with a witch, she loved her dearly and would’ve done anything for her, unfortunately, her human lover was found out by the village she came from and was drowned for being a witch. Devastated, Rowena closed herself off from the human world and the fae world alike. She doesn’t interact much with anyone else anymore and in her mind, everyone is already condemned to hell eventually so why bother with them at all? Rafael La Fayette Vampire (Grimbourne Fledgling)
Well...that was certainly a crowd.
Rafael raised his brow as he walked past what seemed to be a rather large crowd gathering in town, and perhaps the best part of it all was the strong scent of blood coming from inside the crowd. Okay, now he was curious.
Head tilted to the side, Rafael brushed his hair back in an effort of keep the bouncy curls somewhat contained to the ponytail he worked so hard to maintain. Once he was sure his hair wouldn’t fall out of the bow and become a mess of curls in front of his eyes, Rafael continued on, closing in on the crowd from behind.
Stealthily, he climbed up on top of a building, perching himself atop the roof to get a better look at the situation.
From here he could clearly see the mangled, bloody body of the baker, Thomas. Nice fellow, a little stingy with the pastries though, too bad someone had to go and kill him.
Along with the dead body, Rafael could also spot Cataline, Archie, and Temperance nearby, observing the body alongside that Howell family while the youngest Howell child bothered the police.
Wrinkling his nose at the sight of the police, Rafael got that bad taste in his mouth whenever he saw those uniforms. Police weren’t really his thing, never had been and never would be.
Well, that was enough observing for one day, it was time to get involved in all the action now.
”Something smells good, what’s for dinner?” Rafael asked loudly as he slid down the side of the roof, landing on the ground in front of the other vampires with a thud.
He was caught a little off balance but was quick to steady himself, glancing towards the body before he looked back towards Cataline and the others, smirking. ”Think he’ll mind if we raid the bakery now?” He asked.
Perhaps he would do good to lower his voice, especially as there were others around.
Specifically for instance, the feral Howell boy, Clyde or something like that, honestly Rafael couldn’t be bothered to learn his name.
Clyde-boy glanced towards him, his eyes looking him over for a moment or so before he let out a quiet warning growl, moving towards his sisters as if to guard them from the mean, nasty vampire.
Rafael gave him a look, but otherwise ignored him. He was wasting his time acting all tough, if Rafael had wanted to kill him he would’ve already.
