i will focus on the things he does in the main series...because let's face it, his backstory in the skyclan manga is lame and makes him look bad. i'd rather focus on the things he actually did in the main series books instead.
in eclipse, sol shows up as this calm, yet charming, and manipulative guy. he is portrayed as smart and takes advantage of anything that comes his way. he doesn't resort to violence. his weapon is words, his power of manipulating others to believe in him and do as he says. that's why he has such great potential to be a cool villain.
in just one book, he convinces shadowclan that their religion sucks and their ancestors are powerless. he basically convinces them he knows more than starclan, and that in itself is a great feat in my opinion.
sure, his reign over shadowclan doesn't last long, but it still lasted a book and a half at least.
even when faced with hollyleaf in long shadows, he still manages to stick in her mind by claiming she may need him more than she knows right then.
when he is accused for ashfur's murder, he still manages to act calm, collected, and suave through it all.
when lionblaze comes to him in sunrise, sol has still managed to maintian his reputation of knowledge, for lionblaze is convinced sol knows things about their prophecy.
and lastly, in oots, sol once again tricks the clans and plans an attack with windclan. he even still is able to lie and say he saved molepaw and cherrypaw. even though hollyleaf comes back to dispell his lie, he still got away with it for a while, long enough to try the attack.
also, sol even explains he wants to prove the warrior code means nothing. heck, sol even swears revenge.
THIS is why i want sol to be the mastermind in TBC. he swears to prove the warrior code means nothing because of how he was treated in skyclan. and the fact his story is left unfinished even though it has a direct tie to the code is a big waste. ashfur has nothing to do with the code, but sol does. sol should be the mastermind in TBC because of this.
and i think people don't appreciate sol enough. sure, his backstory is lame in the skyclan manga, but through his actions, he is clearly portrayed as smart. he acts calm and suave on the outside simply to work his manipulation skills. he is shown to be a weak fighter, yes, but that is the point of his character: unlike other villains, sol doesn't resort to violence or gathering followers ot fight for him. instead, he uses his words to contorl others. in oots, he convinced windclan to fight thudnerclan in the tunnels. he managed to get windclan on his side, and he even lead the charge.
sol has everything needed to be related to TBC: his villany is about manipulation which the imposter knows to do, his tactics is convincing others to believe things he wants them to believe, he swore to prove that the warrior code means nothing, and he even swore revenge in his last canonical appearance in the main series books.
sol deserves more credit. he is full of wasted potential.

I CAN BE A WARRIOR!!
Honestly, Sol is awesome. He's a villain that's clever and cunning. He's just super awesome, and I think TBC would totally steal me if they included Sol. Because it makes sense! He tried to change their code in the first place! It would be so amazing if he was involved with Ashfur.

Who knows? Maybe Sol will appear in Darkness Within! He made his first appearance in a book 4, so he could come back in another book 4!

Imagine,,, Sol and Ashfur, both villains of POT and enemies of The Three, putting their heads together,,, this would be the 2nd time Sol comes back, NO other villain has come back so many times,,, Mapleshade doesn't count because she was never really gone

I love Sol, but the entire point of his character is that he's a lazy, petty, bitter fraud who just happens to be good at manipulation. And much as I loved SatS, it really made me lose alot of respect for him. It's hard to explain, but each time he appeared, it just felt like he got worse, so I'm somewhat hesitant when it comes to him possibly returning, but I wouldn't be completely opposed to it, either.
Regardless, it's obvious the impostor isn't working alone.

Oh, it's definitely a strength and his manipulation skills more than make up for his lack of physical strength., I just hope the next time he appears (if there is one), I just hope his portrayal won't be underwhelming.

Honestly, if he is the mastermind, I'll change my whole outlook on TBC. Still won't call it the best arc, but it'll at least get third place.

I really didn't mind how Sol convinced cats that StarClan isn't real. But that's in part because we in the human world know that StarClan isn't real, and stars are in space far away. And why would Sol believe in StarClan, since he's not from the Clans?
I minded a lot more when he stirred up all kinds of other problems in the forest, seemingly just because he enjoyed causing problems.

Still won't call it the best arc, but it'll at least get third place. there is such obvious ways to tie sol into TBC that it will make TBC even worse for me if they don't involve him...idk how else TBC can be made "better" in my eyes either.
