Say something positive about the Dawn of the Clans arc! What did you like about it? Who were your favorite characters? What was your favorite plot, or sub-plot?
I loved Gray Wing's character, Gray Wing and his mates' relationships, Clear Sky as an antagonist, and the background characters.

I mostly liked Gray Wing's character. He had some weird moments but I really liked him especially in The Sun Trail.

My second/third favorite character was introduced in DOTC! I really like how it had a fresh cast, instead of the same old cats. Clear Sky also had one of the best character arcs I've read about in this series.

There are several things that come to mind immediately.
-New cast of characters -Supporting characters actually being fleshed out -No StarClan -No prophecies every other goddamn chapter -The very interesting dynamic between the three main protagonists -THE FIRST BATTLE -Gray Wing's death scene

MY FAVORITE ARC YES!!
Ahem, ahem.
I seriously love Dawn of the Clans. It's such a cool and different take on Warriors with fresh, new characters. Everyone in this arc has a story; it's almost like we know them. The main characters aren't the ones with a complete and total focus in this arc, which I love. I love most of the characters. I love the plot. I love the villains. My favorite characters are in this arc: Gray Wing, Pebble Heart, and Rainswept Flower. They're so different compared to the other characters in the other arcs. Pebble Heart is quiet and determined, and his relationship with his siblings and his Clan is very special. Gray Wing is a very resilient cat. Rainswept Flower is kind and really strong-minded and asserting and loyal, and she's just awesome in general! Dawn of the Clans really is great!

Clear Sky. His character arc was one of the most interesting I've ever read. Plus, the series is super sad. I teared up at quite a few parts.

I adored this arc-- it was my favorite, alongside TPB. The things that make Warriors great-- characters and drama-- were at their best. Gray Wing is a fantastic POV. He's an introspective and gentle take on a protagonist character, and his motivations are clear, relatable, and heartwarming. 10/10 best Warriors dad. Him being the main POV is like having a treat in almost every scene-- you know it'll be good because Gray Wing is there! Then you have all the side characters, and that's the best part. Gray Wing's POV isn't the only treat, because all the other characters are just as interesting! Tall Shadow, Jagged Peak, Wind Runner, Gorse Fur, River Ripple, Storm, Thunder, just... ah! I love them all so much! I can't even choose a favorite!
Also, moment to shout out Wind Runner and Gorse Fur's relationship. I love them, and I can't even explain why. I don't think their relationship is even stated explicitly until later, but they are consistently shown as caring a lot for each other, trusting each other, but also having their own independent personalities. And there's just this unspoken closeness between them, like they can talk without speaking. I've just always gotten really good vibes out of them.
I also love how much more relaxed the "clans" are with each other. No forbidden romance, no hostilities based only on "but they're in another clan", no code to complicate things. Cats can go visit kin from other clans and they're welcomed as family. They are family-- the whole forest really feels like it. It brings higher stakes to inter-clan conflict, and it makes the times of hard-won peace feel golden. I just love it. DotC just had this great freshness and range of emotions that was so rare in the other books.
