If cats had a written language what would it look like? I would imagine them using a glyph system since a cat’s limitations on making unique sounds would make a phonics system difficult.

The closest thing Warriors showed to a written language was the One Eye symbol and Jayfeather's stick so I would also say glyphs.
It's an interesting subject, coupled with different symbols and shapes that were put in the books like the star shape, do cats have a star shape of their own or did they just mean a dot with sometimes tiny spikes coming out of it? (sorry for plugging this thought in for like the 100th time on the forums.)

It’s ok, it’s also interesting to think if the clan symbols are something the cats would recognize. (It’d also be cool to create a written language for a fanclan or something of the sort)

I figure they'd use symbols.

I had an idea a while ago that cats could scratch things into bark and the depth and direction of the scratches would have meaning. So, when other cats ran their paws over it they would be reading it, and when cats scratched furniture or trees they were writing messages. I’m not sure if it fits in the realm of Warriors but I used it in my own stories.

Ṣanɗypaw™ glyphs is just the fancy word for symbols mrnnki I could see this as a more primitive way of writing since scratches could only get you so many messages. Perhaps cats would start taking these specific scratches and start combining them to make glyphs, allowing cats to suddenly get words, phrases, and maybe even sentences across.

Quite a few times, and I remember Gray Wing and Brokenstar doing this, they would make marks in the earth to represent what they're talking about

Quite a few times, and I remember Gray Wing and Brokenstar doing this, they would make marks in the earth to represent what they're talking about That seems to me more like that thing where people draw out plans in the dirt then writing something, because if someone who had no idea what hey were talking about came across the marks they wouldnt know what they meant.
