You've saved Pikekit. But your best friend has disappeared, and your leader, Fernstar, has lost a life. You believe there is hope for finding your friend, but that needs to be put aside now. There are more pressing matters to think about.
Your camp is destroyed and your leader is weak from their lose of a life. Their deputy, Brightstem, is a cat you know you can't trust wholly. You know her true loyalty is to her kin before her Clan, and know that she is quick to make rash decisions. However, she is Pikekit's mother. So for the sake of the kit, you push aside your distrust of them and concentrate on fixing the wreckage.
As you are patrolling the territory for resources, you discover weird plants sprouting up around your territory. They smell of bile, and they're clearly no good. You watch a water-vole devour a plant, then fall down dead. The plants are poisonous. They've never grown there before, and they aren't native. This only means some cat placed them there, and your prime suspect is poised.
But you know you can't accuse Brightstem without evidence, so you interrogate your Clanmates. You've come down to five of them. Now it is your turn to decide who placed those poisoned plants.
The first suspect, Cherrydusk. She's a loyal warrior, and popular too. She has friends in every Clan, and is incredibly nosy. If any cat would know things, Cherrydusk would first. She used to be best friends with Cloverfleck, but they've been talking less since the death of Cloverfleck's sibling. Cherrydusk understands he needs to grieve.
You ask her what, but she hesitates and scampers away.
Your second suspect is Cloverfleck. He's a young warrior, and is your best friend's brother. They've been quiet since the death of their sibling, keeping to themselves and vanishing regularly. Once friendly and talkative, they've become lonesome and curt. You often see them glaring around the camp.
You ask Cloverfleck a warrior they'd suggest. Cloverfleck tells suggests Mottlestream, the medicine cat. He says they know a lot about plants, and probably poisonous ones too.
So your third suspect is Mottlestream. Mottlestream is outspoken and kind, but nervous and snappish under pressure. They've been treating cats since the flood and often have to go out to find herbs, making frequent trips out of camp alone.
You're shocked at Mottlestream's uncharacteristic attitude but don't pester him more. But he gave you some good info about plants. You remember it.
You soon find another suspect. Your fourth one is Featherpaw, a rule-breaking and feisty young she-cat. However, she is quick to hold grudges. She refuses to talk to you or say anything. She seems rather distraught about something, and scared too.
Finally, your fifth and final suspect is Brightstem. You find her in the nursery curled around Pikekit. You almost hesitate to ask her about the plants.
But you do anyway.
Sullen at your lack of information, you leave the deputy-queen. But you're sure it's one of those five. You have to act quickly. You don't know how long it will take for the plants to spread faster or for a poisoned animal to reach camp. You have to use the stuff you have.
WWYD, and who do you think did it?
Hints:
I'll post the answer to this too, and probably do another one. These are fun to write even if they don't make sense. Sorry if this is really bad. : (

Well, if you're going to think I put those plants there, then think again, minnow-brain. I smelled some familiar cat outside in the territory, but I've got better things to do with my time!

Plants? I can barely tell a tree from a bush. You could ask any other warrior. They'd know.
So your third suspect is Mottlestream. Mottlestream is outspoken and kind, but nervous and snappish under pressure. They've been treating cats since the flood and often have to go out to find herbs, making frequent trips out of camp alone.
I don't know how I didn't see them out there! I'm telling you, I didn't do it! I've already got cats to treat here. I don't have time for your useless questions! The only plants that grow on our territory that are poisonous are deathberries and I've seen some water hemlock around too. B-but I have no idea how it got there! Maybe Twolegs, or even prey! Maybe an animal swallowed some and digested the seeds on our territory. But I don't know. Now get out of my den! I'm treating cats!

Poisonous plants? Can't say I've seen anything like it. I've been here taking care of Pikekit. But actually, some cat left camp a quarter-moon ago. I don't remember who, but I know I've seen them leave often. But I have bigger things to think about than some rebellious cat. I need to get Pikekit back to sleep. Now can't you ask some other cat?

Hints:
One of the five did it.
The cat who did it is the one who gives the vaguest response.
The poisoned plants are not targeted towards Fernstar, rather the Clan as a whole.
The one who did it is the youngest out of all of them.
The fourth hint is a lie.
I'll post the answer to this too, and probably do another one. These are fun to write even if they don't make sense. Sorry if this is really bad. : (
