Working on territory and history could help with building the plot. Like, maybe the clan's history ties into TBC somehow, where a group left the five clans because they were sick of people breaking the code and disrespecting StarClan, and that's why their version of StarClan is so strict and controlling.

Good point. Maybe the original clans didn't listen to Starclan and they ended up being nearly wiped out, which led them to becoming one? It would probably have to be a realllyyy long time ago so only a few of the original clan cats are still in Starclan.

Ok, here's a quick summary. Lemme know if I missed anything.
Starclan has become corrupt. A cat within their ranks has slowly started to take control and abuse the powers they are given. Cats who go against this ruler have been banished to the Dark Forest, a place that has been empty for many moons thanks to the peace within the clan. Starclan is looking to obtain power, and to do so they require loyalty and belief from the clan cats who are still alive. As the crooked Starclan cats grow stronger, their ability to manifest and affect the physical world strengthen as well.
The Dark Forest cats are stuck in a place they don't belong with knowledge they are unable to pass down to the living. They must figure out a way to speak with the clan cats in ways that are long lost to time. They have to do this while under the watchful eye of a corrupt leadership within Starclan. I imagine that the Dark Forest training wouldn't have happened, or wouldn't have happened for a long time so they don't know how to contact living cats from the DF. If that makes any sense?
The clan cats don't have any idea what is going on. The only cats originally aware of the sudden shift within Starclan are the leader of the clan and their medicine cat. Their medicine cat has turned to the side of Starclan and is encouraging their empowerment while their leader has been threatened with the stripping of their nine lives.
People will be able to RP cats within all three categories, though the Starclan cats and Dark Forest cats won't be nearly as used as much as the clan cats. Within the clan there are three different cats. Cats who support Starclan, cats who realize that something is wrong and are against it, and cats who either don't know what's going on/cats who haven't chosen a side.
I'm thinking that the clans would have to do some pretty unheard of things to slowly start powering up Starclan. Things like prey sacrifices and the like. But do you guys think that's a bit Too MuchTM I don't want it getting too wild lol.

Yeah I definitely think that could work! We'll have to work out the details for the clans becoming irrelevant, but once we have the down I think we'll have the majority of the plot set.

Ok, I did some looking and here are some things I thought Starclan could start requiring the clans to do to allow them more power. Starting with small things and gradually working up to things that most cats wouldn't do and would probably come into play later in the rp. I don't want anything to get too 'culty', so while there would be a threat of cat sacrifices it probably would never happen. If that makes any sense?
New roll introduced. Probably a cat focused on the religious aspect. Maybe a loner whos possessed by a Starclan cat?
Maybe they build some sort of shrine?
Prey sacrifices.
Burnt offerings.
Apprentices made Warriors to soon in an attempt to cut down numbers.
Throwing out cats deemed as 'non believers'
Actual cat sacrifices.
Additionally, if we really wanted to go unrealistic, in terms of the Warrior world lol, we could maybe have there be a large predatory cat that acts as Starclans will in the real life until they are able to manifest. And give the clan a big 'ol scary enemy in the flesh? At this rate I'm just throwing out random ideas haha.

Yeah, I'm debating between adding a new cat/roll or just sticking with the medicine cat being the main religious leader. Either way I think the meddie cat would be one of the main antagonists, but i'm conflicted on if adding another cat that started it all would be a good idea. Opinions?

Ok! I think the Leader, who is being blackmailed by Starclan, will eventually be killed off. Maybe the loner can take their place and really ramp up the culty behavior? I do realize this is skewing a bit from the original plot we had in mind, so anyone feel free to shoot the idea down! I don't mind at all.

Ooh, I really like the idea of prey sacrifices! Maybe, instead of a Gathering, the clan could have a huge feast every full moon, where they don't eat some of the prey and instead offer it to StarClan?

Oooo that's a good idea! I like it! Since it's only a single clan rp I like the replacement for Gatherings ^^ What do you think about adding the loner and the other things we've been suggesting? It's still all totally up in the air so don't feel like you can't shoot anything down :3
