Hexclan
"Don't you go near that forest, little ones, there's dark things living there," the harsh sound of your mother's warning echoed in your ears as you curled closer to her, tucking your tail tightly to your body. Your siblings shudder as they push against you, their wide eyes peering up at the serious glower that your mother held.
"What kind of dark things, Mama?" one of your sisters asked, her voice trembling.
"Those that should have been forgotten."
About
It's officially spooky month! So I was inspired to make a small group clan with October in mind. So, Hexclan is a group of cats that were former witch and warlock familiars - thus they have a few lingering magic abilities. Mostly, they live in a dark "haunted" forest that make normal cats and animals nervous - which can make prey a bit tricky to find. There's plenty of space for the small clan to spread out and they're actually far more welcoming toward outsiders than one would expect. Instead of living in one large camp, they have a village like area in the forest where they build dens for their families. The Hollow is in the center of this area and where the main fresh-kill pile is and the Witching Stone, where Hexclan calls meetings and speaks with their ancestors and other spirits.
They have a special rank called a Seer, these are cats who have been fate blessed, or those who can receive premonitions and speak more easily with the spirits of the dead. They are important council and aid in both healing and caring for kits while not busy with being spirit-guides. Other cats of Hexclan are gifted with certain 'blessings' - fire, water, earth, or air. The cat gains control over this element when they're blessed at their apprentice ceremony and are trained by a corresponding warrior. Any element can become a leader, guardian, or healer(though earth are naturally more inept at this) but only fate blessed cats can become Seers.
There is no StarClan or Dark Forest for this clan, instead they believe in the spirits that guard this world. There's Vita, the spirit of life, prosperity and kithood. Then there's Mortem, the spirit of death, mourning, and elderhood. Between those two main spirits, are three others, Hen, Leif, and Gale. Hen is the spirit of love and motherhood, of fertility. Leif is the spirit of the hunt, stealth, and tact. And Gale is the spirit of war, pride, and loyalty. Hexclan looks up to these spirits and often gives them offerings on the full moon, especially during the Autumn Festival, which is quite the big deal with the clan.
The Autumn Festival is a celebration that is held the week of the full-moon during late autumn, when the leaves have mostly fallen from the trees. Cats carve pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns, which are then lit by felines blessed with flame. There's bobbing for crabapples in the Crystal Pool and a hunting competition for both apprentices and warriors. There's a corn-maze challenge in the nearby field and a capture the wreath event. On the day of the full moon there is a huge celebration that ends in a large feast and then an offering to the spirits.

There is a group of newcomers in camp this autumn. They have mysterious origins and Hexclan is cautious but unwilling to be rude hosts. So they allow them to stay, for now. What are the true intentions of these strangers? Are they here to join the clan or is their purpose more sinister?
