No worries! For the basics, you can like someone's post (like I did for yours) by clicking the 'thumbs-up' in the top right corner. You can also quote someone (as I've done with this post) by clicking the 'quote' button, if you want to directly respond to them. If you'd like to tag someone in your post (just their name instead of directly quoting them), there should be an option bar whenever you make a new post. Toward the right end of the option bar, you'll see an "@" symbol with a little person. You can use that to tag people by typing in their username (which isn't always the same as their screenname, you can find it by hovering over their screenname). You can also use the option bar to change fonts, colors, add emojis, etc.

The more you post, your rank will change accordingly. I believe that you must have at least five or ten posts before you can make a thread (outside of the Introductions Board, that is).

As for the signature, when you're on the home page of the site, you can click on the "Profile" tab at the top. Then go to the "Edit Profile" button in the top right, then "Personal". If you scroll down, there will be a place to edit your signature. If you want to make your signature perfectly aligned and pretty though, you'll need to use BBCode, which is a little difficult if you've never done it before, but there are several threads on the Forum Help Board where you can learn how to do that. You can also ask someone to make you a signature.
