Plushies - Buyer Beware

Is there anything we can do?

I know right. I’m not an expert on the subject but I believe it’s false advertising, which is illegal in many countries ... you can’t tell the consumer they’ll be getting one item only to swap it for another one after MANY have submitted their orders 😧 ... since the plushies can only be pre-ordered right now I imagine anyone who would want a refund could get one? But it still leaves a funny taste in my mouth.

Why not just advertise the second versions from the start instead of baiting everyone with the first versions(which look much softer and cuter imo)?

They even still have the picture of the first versions up on the official website...

I bought Squirrel and I'm not gonna try to cancel my order or anything because despite preferring the first version, I do still like the second one, but it's hard not to feel annoyed and disappointed by this after spending $40...

I haven’t tried, I’m not going to cancel because I want them anyway, even though I’m disappointed about the drop in quality.

I thought they looked bad before, but yea this is just laughable. For that price you really are better off just looking on Etsy or something.

I was thinking about ordering one, but now I’m definitely not.

I already had Squirrelflight and Ravenpaw ordered, in honor of my 2 actual cats that really have warrior names

I like the new Squirrelflight one better, but the old Ravenpaw better, so I guess I'll be half happy, half disappointed either way.

Mega confused now.

So the article says that the first images of the better plushies were just the prototypes.

Then, at the end of the article... They show off images of the better plushies.

So like, are the better ones just the prototypes or not?

Purposefully posting professional, edited photographs of a high quality plushie, even listing them on the products pages where you can currently purchase them, is not a MISTAKE. It’s intentional false advertising. I’m starting to think they didn’t realize we would catch the bait and switch . . .

I have trouble believing that any Warrior fan would say “I like the plushies ... but make them lesser quality.” More like “we lowered the product quality to cut costs.” And it makes for a poor apology when you try to first deny any accountability and then deflect blame onto the fanbase ... 

All in all, greatly disappointed by how this thing was handled. Lying to the consumer and trying to get them to buy a high quality plush for nearly $40 and then subtly changing the photos to lower quality plushies after MANY people have already pre-ordered, expecting the original photos, is not a good look. And is not unintentional.

If the Warriors Team had posted initial photos of the prototypes, making it clear they were, in fact, prototypes, and then listed each one for sale with photos of their official end result (aka what you’d be buying) then that would have been perfectly alright ... but this?

Though the high quality photos they’ve added of the official plushies do make me feel better about them. And I’m happy they changed Squirrelflight’s tail (though the bright red was beginning to endear itself to me :-P )

Dark ginger goes to brown which can go to black. She's a dark colored cat, so they would need to darken the stripes. If they do come out black, then they're messed up.
