Unfortunately, I'm useless for the studying tip part because I haven't studied in years. My courses don't require me to study or take tests. But I can remember the flashcard site things. There's Quizlet and Kahoot.
Good luck with studying!

I wish I could help you! I am in my last semester of vet tech school. Our state also doesn't require you to be certified to be one, but there are benefits to being certified and going to school. I take the national exam next spring if I graduate this fall. I have found books that are supposed to be helpful in preparing for the exam. Don't you have those? There are also websites that should be able to give practice tests, but usually they come with a subscription cost. -.-
Good luck with your studies! <3

Hey! I haven't studied in a long while either, but I think what helped me the most was making my own schedule/curriculum in a way. Find the things you have to know, make an organization that makes sense to you, and then use your resources to follow that process. Particularly helpful if you are studying for something you already learned/know, because you know, at least, the basics of what you SHOULD know/learn.
I'm also ADHD af and it really helped to break things into chunks that can be accomplished in 20-30 mins bursts, and have asides that are more for understanding than basic knowing that can take 1hr+ for those times that I really have motivation to do it and let it sink in.
But yea, flow charts of big ideas that you can fill in smaller details as you go, take those sidetracks if you need to understand a concept further to really get that one thing you need to remember. Make a schedule, stick to it.
In terms of actually memorizing things, flashcards are pretty good. I'm better at remembering things when I write them, but not in note form because then I focus too much on what I'm writing. What worked best for me is just taking one sheet of paper, then repeating words and writing them huge on that sheet as I'm going through my notes/pages/skimming and just... layer them into a mess. Keeps my brain off of perfection but keeps the hand-eye pattern
good luck!! studying is tough I hated every minute of it (unless it's something I wanted to learn, because I'm that kind of person that often buys old textbooks for niche subjects for fun)

i've never tried to learn something seriously completely independent of structure, but i was homeschooled so i have some experience with self-discipline and education.
set up a reward system. like if you read 20 pages and takes notes this week, you'll get yourself a latte on saturday when you go grocery shopping. or more immediate, like if you dont do five pages and a video tonight then you won't have any ice cream sitting in your freezer (im very food motivated lol). for me, at least, i'd feel pretty bad about myself and like a cheat if i gave myself those rewards without reaching my goal, so it works to motivate me. you may not always reach your daily/weekly goal even with incentive but then you get sad about not getting the reward so it feels more real the next time.
edit: also, i think a lot of people mistake "learn at your own pace" for "do it when you feel like it". in reality, you're still setting a standard for yourself, but within reason of your limits. if you normally do ten pages a night, but the first two pages of the next section are really dense info/concepts that make your brain hurt, lower the goal to two pages a night until you finish that unit/chapter/etc. the goal is progress, not a deadline, so you don't have to "compensate" later for working at a manageable pace.

I'm currently in online grad school and the BIGGEST thing for me is I devote 2 hours a day to schoolwork and once my alarm goes off I'm done; I dont think about it or think "I need to get this done" I take the alarm and say class is over. Saturday is my catch up day for assignments too.
