"You don't have to go out either, you look tired, and we already went out hunting..." Yarrowfur said but his voiced was laced with guilt that he felt too tired to do more for his Clan. "You already just went hunting." he said, pressing his nose to her cheek. "You should rest."
"I will go." Flowerbreeze stood up and stepped around Irisheart and Elmsong to sit before the deputy.

DuskPelt nodded in agreement. "We can go out tomorrow" She decided, knowing her body needs the sleep. She crouched, leaning into YarrowFurs pelt, soaking in his scent. Exhaustion swept over her body, and the warrior let her eyes close as she relaxed, as much as she could in a time like this.

Yarrowfur was tense as she leaned against his side, but he laid back down and tried to relax. He pressed his face close to hers, and when he closed his eyes it didn't take long for the exhausted tom to fall asleep.

Adderheart nodded at Nightwhisker's words and then moved to sit beside Flowerbreeze. "I'll go too," she meowed. She couldn't stand sitting around doing nothing, especially if there really were more foxes out there.
Silverpaw turned to the other three apprentices. "I'll go see what Nightwhisker has to say," he told them. He dipped his head to Asterpaw and then went to join the others. As he walked over to them he heard about his mentor's plan to take out a patrol. Maybe he could join them. This wasn't a hunting patrol after all. Just looking for any signs of more foxes was something he would have no trouble with. And if they did run into one, he knew his fighting moves well enough. And even if Nightwhisker didn't want him to fight a fox this early in his training Silverpaw could easily race back to camp to fetch some more warriors since he was a pretty fast cat. He padded closer to Flowerbreeze and Adderheart but he would let Nightwhisker decide.

DuskPelt didnt quite fall asleep yet, she was still awake enough to hear who was going on patrol. if not enough warriors volunteered she would step forward, or if NightWhisker singled her out to go. otherwise she was definitely going to enjoy relaxing for now.

Yarrowfur slept stilly for a long while next to Duskpelt then his ears and whiskers started to twitch from dreaming. He tensed and opened his eyes again a few moments later, breathing rapidly. Calming himself down, he nuzzled into Duskpelt's fur again and tried to go back to sleep.

Turtlepool sat and cried into the fur of her friend. Her nose pressed into his cold fur.
Basilwhisker rose and moved towards the bodies of Elmsong and Thymestar he lay a little from either of them and dipped his head to both in respect before laying down to sit vigil for them.
Frostfeather followed her brother's suit and dipped her head to the fallen warriors but she looked up at the sky when she was finished as though she would see their spirits there.
(I think leaving Snowdapple and the kits out of the vigil might be a good thing. Don't want kids too used to seeing dead bodies)

Yarrowfur heard the sound of cats moving and opened his eyes. He pushed himself to his paws with effort and touched Duskpelt's shoulder with his tail to let her know it was time. He found a spot closer to Thymestar to sit vigil, wrapping his tail around his paws. He dipped his head for a long while before raising it and gazing up towards where silverpelt would soon shine.

Ivysplash picked up the moss he had dropped and took it out of camp. He dropped it near the dirt place and trotted off into the forest when he sniffed a vole. He caught the vole and took it back to camp dropping it off before going to volunteer for the patrol. "I'll go." He said looking at Nightwhisker and standing beside Flowerbreeze and the others.
Snowdapple woke up and checked that her kits were beside her before closing her eyes again. She would have liked to sit vigil but didn't want the kits out of the nursery. Not with Elmsong and now from the sounds of it Thymestar laying there dead. She sent up a quiet prayer to Starclan that they had made it to their ancestors already and fell asleep.

That was it, a warrior dead, all his leader’s remaining lives, gone. Gone, like Winter at the start of Spring. To be honest Asterpaw wasn’t surprised he screws everything up. He looked towards Strikepaw, who had just given him a question before he looked at his leader one last time. He wished he could go say goodbye but that was unlikely. He almost fainted getting to the medicine cats’ den, so getting to the clearing wasn’t going to happen. Would his clanmates blame him for his leader’s death? Surely not..... hopefully not. Asterpaw sighed, wishing he stayed in this morning, all this could’ve been avoided if his encounter with the fox didn’t happen.

Shrikepaw flattened his ears at the news of his leader, and he couldn't help but feel a shrinking sense of dread. It almost seemed... early. Way too early. He looked back at Asterpaw, giving him a silent stare filled with a glimmer that betrayed his worries. "Well... lucky that... you survived, right?" He had hoped for the sake of his denmate that his comment hadn't been insensitive.

Basilwhisker sat up when he felt a tail lay across his back. He looked up and saw Sakura there and blinked at her as a silent greeting. He was stiff from sitting vigil and sad beyond belief. He had felt Elmsong was a friend of his and Thymestar had been leader his entire life. "Do you want to go out hunting?" He asked quietly to Sakura.
Frostfeather heard his brother rise and started to get up herself. She licked a paw and ran it across her sleepy face. She was disappointed in herself for falling asleep but she had sat vigil for a while into the night.
Turtlepool moved slowly this morning as she brought her nose from Thymestar's pelt. Her eyes were puffy from crying. She started to prepare the bodies for burial. Taking strong scented herbs she had collected from outside the camp and rubbing them on the fur of Elmsong and Thymestar. She waited for the other elders to awake and come forward to help take them for burial. "Starclan take care of them." She said aloud.
Snowdapple awoke before the kits and peaked outside. She slipped out and touched her nose to Elmsong and Thymestar's noses before hurrying back to the nursery. She might not have sat vigil for them but she knew they deserved a goodbye. She slid back into her nest making sure she didn't disturb any of her denmates.
When Ivysplash got back from patrolling for other foxes with the others he went into the clearing and collapsed. He was tired after all the clan had been through the day before and all he had done as well. He blinked slowly and looked at the bodies where Turtlepool had started to prepare them for burial and a single tear slipped down his face before he layed down his head.

"I'm sure. I won't be able to sleep anyway. I might as well do something productive with my time." He cast his gaze over to Thymestar and Elmsong and shook his head. "I still can't believe they are dead" he muttered before heading towards the camp entrance.

Adderheart stopped beside the cats that were still gathered around Thymestar and Elmsong for a bit. She briefly touched her nose to the two, wanting to give them a quick goodbye before the elders would bury them. Then she padded towards the warriors' den, hoping her clanmates wouldn't think badly of her for doing so. She couldn't help being tired after helping fight the fox and then joining another patrol not too long afterwards.
Darkclaw looked up from where he sat and stepped back, not wanting to be in the way of Turtlepool and the other elders. Upon seeing Ivysplash and the others return he quickly stretched himself and made his way towards the camp entrance, hoping to find some prey outside.
Heronflight slowly got up and without a word she joined Turtlepool. She glanced at Thymestar and Elmsong for a moment and sighed. Of course she knew that Thymestar wouldn't have been their leader forever but she had hoped that he wouldn't lose his last life before any of the current elders joined StarClan. She nodded to Turtlepool, signaling that she was ready, and hoped that Loststories and Weepingcloud would join them soon.
Icewhisper was bringing some freshkill from the freshkill pile to her den. Asterpaw and Wovensight still had to eat, after all. She was willing to allow Wovensight to leave the medicine den, under the condition that he wouldn't overexert himself. He seemed to have recovered well enough but that didn't mean he should do too much just yet.
Silverpaw padded over to his clanmates, wanting to see Thymestar and Elmsong once more before the elders would bury them. He wondered how everyone was doing, the loss of their leader and one of their warriors hadn't been easy on anyone after all. After a while he decided to go see Asterpaw and slowly made his way over to Icewhisper's den.
Rainsong blinked, looking up at the sky. Throughout the night he had shot glances towards the sky, wondering how Thymestar and Elmsong were doing now. And while the stars couldn't be seen anymore, since the night was over, he still couldn't help looking up.
Weaselkit yawned, blinking sleepily at her denmates. She wondered if they would be allowed to go outside. The clan seemed to be quiet today and she didn't like that. With everyone feeling so down she didn't feel like playing anyway, though. And it wasn't like they were so quiet for no reason. Weaselkit hadn't heard everything of course, but enough to understand why the cats outside were acting differently than usual. With another yawn Weaselkit snuggled up to her mother and her siblings again, trying to get some more sleep.

Basilwhisker nodded to Sakura. "Good catch." He mumbled stalking off after the scent of a blackbird. He caught sight of it trying to pull a worm from the ground and stumbled towards it leaping and barely catching at it with his claws. He fumbled and lost his grasp of it and it fluttered away. "Mousedung" he cursed. He made his way back to Sakura holding onto a single feather that had fallen off the bird. (Edited so we can continue the rp Robinbreeze) Turtlepool nodded and bent down hoping Heronflight could shift Thymestar up onto her back to carry him for burial. (This is awkward and seems a little bit rough on the bodies. Maybe they didn't really show the elders doing the burials for a reason in the books. Maybe we just have them leave the camp and then come back once they finish. Pineclaw)

Sakura frowned slightly when Basilwhisker came back empty jawed. The gray and white she-cat didn't say anything, but concern flashed in her eyes. She continued along the thin trail, searching the wind for scents of nearby prey. Soon enough, Sakura caught the scent of squirrel and slunk into the bushes to the left. There, she moved slowly forward until she was within pouncing range. Just as she leaped, her paw crunched on a leaf, alerting the squirrel. It darted toward the nearest tree, making for the safety of its branches. "Oh no, you don't," Sakura growled and raced up the trunk after the squirrel. Biting onto its tail, she yanked it onto a sturdy branch and killed it with a swift blow of her paw. Crawling back down, she headed back in the direction of where she had left Basilwhisker.

Basilwhisker watched Sakura come back with the squirrel. He set his feather down and stalked towards the scent of a vole. He shook himself and pounced securely landing on it. He bit it and went back to where he had left his feather. He would bring the feather back for the kits.
