Clandestined Welcome, young explorer, I assume you've come seeking knowledge? You're not the only one, I too came here to seek knowledge. Seeking answers, looking for them in the unlikely places. I'll warn you now, you won't find them that easily.
But where have my manners went? I welcome you, young explorer, to the gates of this fine kingdom. I am friends with the rulers here, and they too are very kind. There's so much mystery and wonder here too, you wouldn't believe it. Alexandria is a wonderful place, but you'll come to know that, if you choose to stay.
Even if not, there's all kinds of kingdoms here in Oikoumene, 13 of them in fact. There's countless villages too, and many people. Each kingdom is a staple of magic, the 13 kingdoms holding the 13 separate factions. Though don't feel bad if you weren't born with such a gift, many are not. That's what makes it so unique, isn't it. The work of the magic and non-magic users, and how they cooperate. It's awe inspiring. We're very lucky to live in the world we live in, because that won't last.
Some people can see, they can see what will happen, the paths we could take, and eventually our wonderful world will fall to war. One day, our kingdoms will see threats from the likes of a clan of magic users. But until that day comes, dear explorer, I hope you enjoy the safety the library will enable you with.
As for me, I hope this letter will do well to help you understand our world, as by the time you read it, I'll be long gone.
✧ About
Clandestined follows the story of various Kingdoms, and the inhabitants of those Kingdoms, whether they be royals, common-people, or criminals. All these inhabitants live in a world of magic, in which magic has been outlawed following various wars and coups. There's multiple magic factions, in which people are born with (or without), but most have been publicly outlawed.
The story will follow the journeys of these various characters, and will have limited joining. If you're interested in learning more, feel free to read on, but understand that Leo, ƤαƖƖαѕ ✧, and I are all mods and are selective in who we let into our roleplays. But don't let that scare you if you're interested! While we may not immediately accept someone into the group, that doesn't mean you can't stop by and get to know us and the story. The more interest one shows, the more likely joining will be. This isn't to say we won't accept anyone, however.
My mods and our group tend to make really fun groups and characters, and we're always open to answering questions. Even better for that point, we're in separate time zones, so almost anytime you ask a question, someone should reply rather quickly!
If Clandestined interests you, please read on! Your journey awaits!

Telekine Considered the rarest Faction, only a select few Telekines are still alive. They are seen as unstable, and dangerous. Due to their rarity, many bounties are placed on their heads, though catching one would be a difficult task. Narrowed into the single digits, Telekines are known to be both the most stable and unstable clan. Known as stable due to their abilities of the mind, yet unstable due to the craziness some undergo, losing themselves in the thoughts of others. They are notable for their vibrant indigo or violet eyes.
Generally, abilities can be controlled to a minor degree, as the ability to move and control objects takes a degree of patience and stability. However, many abilities are uncontrollable, based on emotion, or a complete backlash. Examples of this include Telepathy, often seeping deep into the thoughts of a Telekine who has been born with the ability.
It should also be noted that like any faction, not all Telekines are born with each potential ability. Some are capable of only some, while others are capable of all.
Abilities: Untrained/Young: Minor Telekinesis, Telepathy on contact, and/or Enhanced sensory Apprentice Level: Limited Telekinesis, Telepathy in small radius, Enhanced Sensory, Visions, and/or Minor Projection Trained: Telekinesis, Telepathy in larger expanse, Enhanced Sensory, Visions(past, present, or future), Projection Ability, and/or Teleportation Mastery: Telekinesis, Telepathy in larger expanse, Enhanced Sensory, Visions(past, present, or future), Projection Ability, Teleportation, and/or Object Manipulation Expert: Telekinesis, Telepathy in larger expanse, Enhanced Sensory, Visions(past, present, or future), Projection Ability, Teleportation, Object Manipulation, and/or Time Manipulation
- Bloodborne Considered on the rarest and most dangerous factions, Bloodbornes are known for their vibrant red or crimson eyes. They are seen as manipulators, and thus avoided by a large population of the public. As with the rarer factions, they are often insulted or caught on sight, even killed. Known to go down one of two tracks, some Bloodbornes are good at controlling blood and halting movements of others, while others are more of empaths, and are good at manipulating.
Bloodbornes sometimes have a large degree of control, and sometimes they accidentally manipulate others without intending to do so. Sometimes they feel second-hand emotions due to those around them. Sometimes blood magic comes at the cost of injuries.
As with any faction, only some Bloodbornes have the ability to use all potential abilities. Many can only use some.
Abilities: Untrained/Young: Empathy(emotions) on contact, and/or Empathy(pain) on contact Apprentice Level: Empathy(emotions) in small radius, Empathy(pain) in small radius, and/or Minor Blood Magic Trained: Empathy(emotions), Empathy(pain), Blood Magic, and/or Minor Pain Manipulation Mastery: Empathy(emotions), Empathy(pain), Blood Magic, Manipulation, and/or Pain Manipulation Expert: Empathy(emotions), Empathy(pain), Blood Magic, Manipulation, Pain Manipulation, and/or Possession

Electrix Electrix
Abilities: (Abilities dealing with electricity, applying energy, and/or manipulating it.) WIP
Changeling Changeling
Abilities: (Ability to shift, either into other forms or people, and/or animals. Many only have one form, however, the life-cycle of a changeling tends to be longer.) WIP
Brightlux One of the most beloved and accepted Factions by the Factionless, Brightlux are often considered harmless and helpful to society. With pale golden eyes, Brightlux are offered opportunities many others are not. They are weaker in dark.
Abilities: (WIP) Untrained/Young: Ability to emit soft glow, and/or ability to bend light. Apprentice Level: Ability to shift colors of light, control light, and/or create light. Oralee The smell of the pristine castle was almost disgusting, with bright gleaming golden walls towering overhead. The cuffs over her wrists were shackled to chains, like a dog, as she was dragged along by a guard. She glowered at the gems on the collar and shackles she wore, all nullifies of magic. Her dulled down eyes were more of a lilac then a bright indigo. The bright lights filtering into the rich castle were painful on the eyes.
“Nice attempt,” a voice grounded in her ears, tugging her back into a room, the basements. The dungeons, far from the pretty pristine walls of the castle. “But as always, another failure. You would think you would avoid punishment.”
She didn’t quite think they understand quite what she was aiming for. However, as she was lead back into her cell, she looked out the barred window she had, spotting the execution square, not as pretty, located closer to the dungeons. She frowned, looking down as the unlinked the chains, and left the room. She sunk to the floor, curling up slightly, feeling hollow and empty to it all. As the bars closed, she looked at the darkened cell behind her, distantly wondering about her siblings, how they were. If they were even alive.
Another day in Oralee for the young, once princess of Alexandria.
—
Dante fixed his glasses over his nose, glaring at the royal advisor as they pointed at him, assigning his to babysitting the royals for the day. Shuffling his papers beforehand him, the boy exited the meeting, making sure to slam the door close as he left. He was proud, and he certaintly didn’t want to deal with the king or queen more than he had to. Even worse, that Levina-half-blood prince of theirs. Levina was the main enemy for a long while of Oralee. Though, somehow, Oralee made many enemies. Levina just had the honor of being close.
At least, Dante mused, the half-blood prince wasn’t a half-blood Magic user. That would be even worse for the kingdom.
He walked the long hallway, dropping off his papers in his office, before approaching the Royal’s chambers. He knocked softly at the closest door, the meeting room, fighting back his nerves. He had to handle Alex quite a bit, but still, approaching royalty was a bothersome task. Especially if said royals had been in a meeting of some kind.
He forced himself to stand proud, he wasn’t quite tall, not overly short, just below average actually. He didn’t pick up the good genes his mother had possessed, and he looked back on that with some sourness. He clasped his hands behind his back, ready to bow(or curtsy, if it was that blasted prince), appearing as tall and professional as he could.
That, he mused, would have to suffice.

Alexiares Merrick Kinnaird. Known affectionately - and therefore by pretty much nobody - as Alex, Alexei, or even Merry. He was the second in line to the Oraleean throne, though it was lucky he was even that. There had been talk of removing him from the line of succession after the war.
He was the halfblood, the mongrel. Part Levinian. Often blamed for the war, despite the fact that he didn’t remember much of it. He remembered being eight years old, captured by the Levinians and held hostage for a while. Until Oralee was forced to cut a deal. He remembered his mother being killed. Most of it he would like to block out; he would rather forget he had been born out of political necessity, a symbol of peace between two kingdoms. A living peace treaty, though he hadn’t been enough.
Not only that, he was the second child. The spare. The one nobody listened to, or cared about. The one who would never come to anything apart from maybe becoming useful in diplomatic situations, or being married off to another kingdom. No, he was the screw-up. The family disappointment.
And the magic only made it worse; he’d inherited magic from his mother’s side, but only his father and siblings knew, not even the council. If they found out, all hell would break loose. The council and the kingdom would call for his arrest, and then what? Execution, perhaps. Or exile. Certainly he’d be stripped of his crown. The kingdom would bay for his blood; he was popular with some of the citizens, but others hated him. Really depended on how they thought of the rebellious young prince. He’d managed to keep the magic relatively quiet; the suppression of his magic had dulled the yellow eyes to a much more natural-looking golden, honey tone. And nobody had seen any hint of powers from him yet.
Alex had just spent the last hour in a meeting with his father, step mother, and one of the royal advisors. It was an entire meeting basically to tell him what a shame he was in the family, how he had to clean up his act. Stop being seen with rebellious characters, or in sketchy parts of the kingdom’s towns. How he had to do something about his reputation and his relationship with the people. His family too; he had to project more unity, apparently. Bullshit. Alexiares couldn’t want anything less than that. Being distant from his family was the only thing stopping him from killing them.
Understandably, then, he was not in a good mood when he headed to leave the meeting room. His parents and the advisor had already left, so it was just Alex in the room. Still, he thought perhaps it might be time to venture down to the dungeons. He liked to eavesdrop on council meetings recently, and they seemed to have mentioned in the last few meetings a girl held prisoner in the castle. Telekine, they said, and from Alexandria. She must have been there far longer than Alex had known about her, but he was intrigued. Surely the Telekines were extinct? Their kingdom had been destroyed a few years back, he remembered that.
Perhaps it was finally time to pay her a visit.
He was almost at the door when he heard a knock on it. The prince pulled open the door to reveal a young man a little younger than him on the other side of it. Dante Thorsten, a member of the royal council. One of the very people Alex’s father had warned him to keep his magic from; sure, his father hated him, but there was no point in letting a perfectly good prince get killed for nothing at all. Even if he did possess magic.
Dante didn’t like Alexei, and the feeling was mutual. This guy was always on Alex’s back, just waiting for him to slip up. The prince could see it in his eyes. And he was determined not to give him the opportunity.
Unfortunately, this also meant he wasn’t going to get the chance to go and see this Alexandrian girl right this second.
“Dante,” Alex commented with a raised eyebrow “I take it you’re the one assigned to bother me all day today, then?”
He sighed lightly, folding his arms across his chest as he leaned against the doorway, looking with some annoyance at the man standing before him.
“I don’t need a babysitter, I’m a grown man - older than you, in fact.” he continued “It’s ironic that I’d be considered capable of running a country but apparently can’t be trusted to even breathe without someone to accompany me.”
He detested being followed around by advisors and members of the council all day. It was supposed to keep him out of trouble, though he was usually able to escape whoever was watching him. Not Dante, though; it was impossible to sneak away from him.
Which meant his entire day was about to be ruined.

Days had passed since Atreyu had last slept. Heavy, dark circles underneath his eyes were enough to prove this. His movements came in short bursts of energy- fueled only by the desire to escape. A coldness had enshrouded his very essence, seeping deeper and deeper into his core with every footstep.
He had draped himself in a dark cloak in an attempt to find warmth, but all it did was contrast his sickly pale skin. Murmurs of disgrace sparked up as he treaded through the village. Heads turned with looks of disgust.
The blade.
Atreyu's face twisted into an expression of discomfort at the thought. He had sworn to go against the blade's writings. Whatever they may have truly been. But each time he got rid of the blade the same coldness would greet him. And each time he slept the weapon would return, magically, in his hands once again.
An inn caught his eye, immediately causing him to perk up. Somehow, though, the thought of sleeping brought less comfort than usual. By the time he awoke the knife would have returned. He had lived long enough to know that by now.
Eight days, to be exact. No memories existed prior to then. And yet he seemed to possess uncharted oceans of knowledge that would reveal themselves at the oddest of times. Atreyu drew up to the inn.
Eleven bits. That was the cost for a night. Trey reached into his dark cloak and pulled out the coins, enjoying the sensation of the freshly milled pieces. How had he acquired them? This knowledge was absent. It didn't matter.
He took the key and bounded up the steps, following his gut into a room labeled 214.

Wisteria
Carlisle Van Windsor, second child to his dearest family, younger sibling to his beloved sister Tia. Past friend of Callan, his sister’s main guard. Carlisle, the failure child, cursed with green eyes and green magic. Eyes hidden beneath depths of forced brown, dulling the color into a more natural hazel. Carlisle, the boy who had peculiar romantic interests, at least, in accoradance to what many of the council would see. If a prince or princes couldn’t produce an heir, what right did they have to the throne?
So many of those thoughts plagued him, expectations, since childhood. Perhaps that is why he couldn’t take Tia’s place, knowing that everything he was was unlike the royal he was meant to be. Suppression only did so much to soften what was under the surface. People already marveled at his pretty green eyes, so unlike those of his parents. It was a miracle that no one had enough gall to truly press matters about it.
Then again, that was one small miracle, the half blood Factionless in his veins that kept his eyes from being too bright, too unnatural to accept. Such wonders were silly, and he laid flowers in a vase on the bedside in his mother and father’s old room. Without them, the castle had an eerie silence, without his father’s looming cloud of disappointment in him, dire meetings in secret in attempt to fix him. Without his mother’s softer glances. Still, he left the mournful flowers, ones he didn’t grow(because they hated that about him, and he couldn’t disappoint them anymore, even if they were...).
Feeling the bitter bite of tears, he swallowed back his emotions as he had been taught to do, and exited the room with poise. Flowers, variants of purples, laid outside the room of the new queen and much further in the castle, at the door of a guard. Mysterious flowers, undetectable to him. Apologies. The one thing he allowed himself to grow.
Maids would assume they were from secret admirer, the thought alone had him softly chuckle, glancing at the warm castle around him. Many were mourning the old king and queen, while many were excited for a new reign.
Carlo was...indifferent. Happy to some extent, feeling freer, less choked. More scared, as he had a rough relationship with his sister. Guilty, for seeing this as her fate. For seeing this as Callan’s fate.
“Now that she is queen, she can change it,” he reminded himself, softly. The words felt like lies, and maybe they were, but he had to believe them. For his sake.
Turning down the hall, he entered his chambers, touching his dark curls and smirking at himself. The boy had confidence, even if he lacked a true feeling of self-worth. It was an odd mix, but entirely Carlo. To the outside, he appeared like a charming boy. Inside, that’s what he was, just more human. More guilty, and constantly scared.
He shook away the thoughts, picking up a quill and sitting at his desk, dipping it in, and writing to clear his mind.

The Journey
Leon stared out of an open window, her hair, tied into a messy bun, fell in soft red locks. Her eyes, a darkened blue, were such an unnatural, but still rather pretty color. Blue, it seeme, like a classical Hydra, outlined in such a dark color, like midnight. Still, she appeared to be a simple Hydra. Her eyes weren’t the color of ink, but it was almost telltale she had water magic. Her eyes, the way she could lift water.
She levitated an orb of the liquid, she didn’t have the ability of telekinesis, not like a Telekine. But liquid was fair game. Focusing on it, she grinned as the water change shape, almost into a spike, becoming solid and cold, dropping into her hand. Success on freezing was good. It wasn’t like she could cause temperature changes, per se, but she could change the state of water. Hydras could do so with training, and she had been trained as a child.
A small crashing sound cause her to open her eyes, she hadn’t noticed herself closing them as it was. Her breath had picked up slightly, reminded of sweet moments, her father’s hands guiding hers, as crystals of ice would form. Her mother laughing softly as they would play in the snow, mist following the woman as she went.
The feeling of paper and tears, drifting from her. She looked back at the ground, realizing the ice had fallen from her grasp, and has broken upon impact into shards. Her canteen was empty now, having used the water from it to practice, and she huffed in annoyance.
She would rather not bother anyone else sharing her room, it was already late. And to her, it had become glaringly obvious that sleep wasn’t going to be an option. Hoisting herself through the open window, she grabbed a pipe beside the outer edge of the window, using that to climb up and hoist herself, a bit gracefully(and yet also slumped with exhaust) onto the room, where she laid on her back, glaring at the sky.
She felt tired, but had a feeling of power as well. The strange jewel in her satchel was what she suspected caused it. Deep brown, yet unnatural. From that creature of Earth. The tooth too, but that didn’t feel as powerful. She grinned slightly, bringing up her left fingers to trace the outline of the cut which had already started to heal. The fight had been horrifying, but exhilarating. All the pent up power, finally released.
Eldred, she thought back on, was an issue. He acted so strange around her sometimes, it was odd. Zelos, too, was her main concern. Being separated from her companion was harrowing, it broke her heart. She was so glad to reunite with him, enough so that she had cried.
She grumbled in frustration, noticying a figure approaching the inn. She felt something churn underneath her skin, a frown pulling at her lips as she pulled herself up to try and get a better look, but whoever it was had already entered.
Perhaps it was the years of running that had her on edge, rather than justified fear. People would stay at inns, that was that. Not everyone was a hunter. Though a wicked part of her mind reminded her that they might as well be. The fantasy the group had built up of trust and friendship could not live on forever. Sooner or later, the prince would get what he wanted, and all of them would be handled as he saw fit once he had not use for them any longer.
Overhead, storm clouds were brewing over the waterfront village. The soft droplets of rain that started to fall felt at home to her, comforting. She laid back, closing her eyes, counting the raindrops as they landed on her skin.

Oralee
Dante’s face went from a picture of mature, scholarly, proud, to a face of detestment, a pout pulling over his lips when the door opened to reveal what he considered the biggest nuisance to grace the kingdom.
“Prince Alexiares,” he greeted, unimpressed voice drawing the title out as he flickered his eyes over the prince, almost as if he expected the boy to make a dash for it. His gaze flickered to the contents of the room, as if he also expected Alex to have snuck company into the chambers. The prince said his piece, both addressing their names with obvious detestment.
Dante rolled his eyes at the prince’s bickering, fighting back the childish urge to mimic him with his hand as a puppet. Alexiares somehow pushed every grating nerve he could, part of it by existing, part of it by making Dante’s job a living nightmare.
“With all do respect,” Dante started, pulling his arms up to cross them, glaring daggers at the prince, “I am not the one you need to convince of your responsibility. I’m only doing my job, at least one of us can furfull our duties without causing a scene,” maybe a low blow. Dante would let the prince take the words however he saw fit.
He turned tail then, partly from cowardice, moreso from wanting to move on. He thought himself a mature man, but even he had his limits, and Alexiares tested all of them with his grating personality. “The assembly requested that I help you with correspondences for the day,” more like they decided to leave me stuck with you again, his thoughts sarcastically derailed. He was young, one of the youngest on the council, and as such, he often got stuck with the jobs no one else wanted.
It wasn’t really helping with duties either, it was making sure that Alex didn’t become a living embarrassment yet again, “Now Prince, I do hope you choose not to try any shenanigans today. We both know how stu-“ he quickly changed his words, “silly you can get sometimes.”
He almost called the prince stupid, not that it mattered. If Alex could use his brain, neither one of them would be wasting the day away having to deal with the other. It was up to Alex what they did, technically, Dante just had to keep him out of trouble.
It was a lot harder job than you would give him credit for.

Alex rolled his eyes at the youngest council member’s words. Insults, then. He supposed Dante thought he was being subtle.
“You say with all due respect as if no respect is due,” Alex commented “you perhaps forget too easily who I am. Regardless, I don’t need to convince my father of my responsibility either; he is already convinced of the opposite and changing his mind is impossible. You should know about his stubbornness by now, Dante. Sometimes it is better to simply satisfy his need to have a bad opinion of me.”
That was true. His father simply needed to think less of Alexiares, and so it was occasionally better just to let him think he was right. It made the king feel more secure, so supposed the prince. Everyone liked to feel like they were right, after all.
Dante continued then, something about his correspondences. That made Alex’s mouth twitch into a mirthful smile. How amusing of Dante to say that.
“Please, who do you think is lining up to correspond with me?” Alex questioned
Nobody, that was the answer. Or nobody interesting anyway. It was much more interesting out there, outside of the palace. Where actual normal people were, people who weren’t arrogant and hateful. Far away from courtiers and his father and everything else in this glorified birdcage of a building.
He hated the palace and everything about it, spent as little time in there as he possibly could. Sometimes it wasn’t much better outside; the opinion of the public on him was very divided. Aside from the large group who didn’t particularly care about him or his family, there was a big split between those who hated him and those who loved him. There was something appealing to some members of the public about a prince who was rebellious, didn’t seem stuck-up. Who left the palace and went among the people, not just some untouchable distant entity in the palace.
Still, as he spoke he followed Dante down the hallway, soon switching to take the lead. He did catch the courtier’s slip-up when he almost called him stupid, shooting the younger man a warning glance. But that wasn’t what was on his mind; he had resolved to head to the dungeons, Dante or no Dante.
Plus, it might be fun to mess with Dante a bit, pretend he didn’t know about this Telekine girl just to watch him sweat.
“I thought I might examine the dungeons,” Alex said breezily “I recall my father saying they were in need of some repairs, but I know he’s far too busy to organise such things himself. I’ll go down, see what needs to be done, and arrange the work.”
There, that ought to do it. And it sounded plausible enough; Alex didn’t do his duties much, but when something needed done around the palace he was usually the one who did it. A lot of things within the palace slipped the mind of the other royals, who were more focussed on external affairs. Alex noticed these things.

Lilith Killoran, formerly known as Princess Briseis of Alexandria. Had her life gone to plan, she would be destined for a throne. To be a queen, a ruler like generations of her family before her. Unfortunately, due to one fateful night, none of that had come to pass.
The oldest princess had fled her kingdom in fear of her life, becoming separated from both of her younger siblings. From there she had journeyed and eventually reached Aaltonen. Unable to live honestly without revealing her identity, and desperate for food and shelter, she had found herself falling in with the criminal types in Aaltonen, more specifically a gang of thieves, smugglers and hitmen. She remembered them asking her name, the answer she gave being the first name she could think of; Lilith Killoran. She’d remembered it from a name on a grave she’d noticed when in a graveyard a few hours before; the real Lilith Killoran was dead.
It had been a difficult few years after that, painful. But she’d proven her capability and had risen through the ranks of the group due to her ruthlessness and business savvy. She knew how to run a kingdom, and really it wasn’t so different to running a gang. It was all about good business. That had brought the gang to notoriety with her as leader, and now they were involved in as many activities as one could imagine. Smuggling, black market trade, assassination. Helping magical refugees escape Aaltonen. Most importantly, they also took part in political activities. Rigging votes, whispering ideas into the ears of royal advisors. All of it.
She also supplied weapons to anyone and everyone, within or outside of the kingdom. Rebels in other kingdoms, as well as royal forces. She didn’t take sides; politics got in the way of good business. Playing both sides of these fights was what kept the money flowing in for Lilith and her gang.
The royals let her act without intervention; she kept a check on other criminals in the kingdom, and got magical folk out of it. They were too scared to create a power vacuum. Besides, they knew that Lilith knew good business; letting too many black market items flow into the kingdom would drive their prices down, which was bad business. Letting too much trouble arise in the kingdom would also be bad for business.
Which was why Lilith was not a fan of Elena Mendoza, a rival of hers for some time now.
Right now, the woman sat in a tavern which she frequented with regularity. A little hole-in-the-wall place well-known as the place suspicious types enjoyed spending their time. People from kingdoms near and far came here, from rebels in Rajani to escapees from Kalama. The ideal place to hear gossip and information if you listened long enough, and also a good place for finding people like Lilith, with whom you could do business for a price.
The woman was distinctive, for those who knew her. Most people only knew her described as a tall, pale woman with dark hair. And she was; tall with an athletic build, and pale, freckled skin. She wore dark clothes; a black and red corset over a simple shirt of flowy white linen and black trousers. Her inky black hair was loose and fell about her shoulders, apart from a braid on the side of her head adorned with silver rings. Silver jewellery adorned her from her neck to her wrists to her ears, shining and complimenting her pale skin. The only piece of jewellery she always wore was a simple silver ring with a delicate design surrounding what looked like a black diamond. Engraved on the underside of the ring, where nobody could see it apart from Lilith if she removed the ring, was the Lenore family crest. A little reminder, the only thing she had from her life before.
She found herself wondering about her siblings as she sat in that in, nursing a drink at the bar. Had they survived? She didn’t know, could probably never know. Vidi and Vici could be anywhere, and she’d made a point of being difficult to trace. Which meant they had little chance of finding her either, or knowing who she was if they did.
She could afford to get lost in her thoughts like this; she didn’t have to stay alert as she usually did, for she had some members of her gang with her. Not sitting next to her, of course, that would be too obvious. Just a few members of the group scattered around the tavern subtly, all armed with hidden weapons. Should there be a confrontation, she wouldn’t be on her own.

Zander stares out the window and watches as the rain steadily comes down. He smiles a little to himself letting the rain relax him. There had been so much happening in the last couple of days. Zander couldn't believe how well the poison had worked. He smiled a little knowing the king and queen did not have long without a cure. A cure that may or may not even be around. Making the journey seemed foolish, but he wasn't going to stop the young prince.
He pulls back and stretches his limbs feeling a little sore. Despite his weariness, Zander thought about heading out and exploring a little bit. Zander wanted to chat with the local merchants and find out what they knew. Connections were important and any information could be valuable. Rising to his feet, Zander walks to the door and heads out. He places his hands behind his back and goes to the main lobby/bar area. He wondered what kind of food the inn had. Some bread and some roasted fish would be enough for him. He wasn't to picky when it came to food long as the food tasted good.

Oralee
Dante grumbled at the prince’s complaints about his father, looking back for a moment with a raised eyebrow, “You would think that you would try to appease him then. What good does it do to prove him right about you?”
Despite wanting to see the prince fall, Dante couldn’t pass up the comment, and didn’t think much on it. Though, he justified it in his mind. Alex spent his whole life with everything on a platter before him, he didn’t have to work for things. Dante had heard his fair share of complaints, moved past his faults because he didn’t have a choice. All of his life was proving he wasn’t some useless bastard. Of course the prince would lay over the moment someone called him out.
He shut up about it after that, his steps echoing softly as he followed the prince. He only smiled humorlessly at the prince’s comment of correspondes. Not that Alex was wrong, if Dante’s didn’t have to put up with Alex, he wouldn’t willingly seek out his attention. He just felt bad for whoever Alex would one day be courted too, they would be stuck with him.
Though, the day that happened, he would be free of the annoying prince. That itself brightened his mood slightly. Though it fell at the prince’s comment. The dungeons were the worst place in the castle, not as well tended too. “Why worry over dungeons?” He grumbled, “The only time they are used is for those who betray the crown.”
Little did he know.
Letting off a long breath, he weighed his options of being obstinate and arguing with the prince, or simply letting him do whatever. He didn’t trust the boy, and if Alex did anything on his watch, there would be hell to pay. Then again, refusing Alex meant that the boy would simply become rebellious.
Plus, what did it hurt? Alex was trying to do some good, no mater how useless it was. Sighing out once more, he nodded, before affirming vocally, “Though, if they are in need of repairs...” he trailed off, “Yes, very well, if it gets you to behave.”
Again, little did he know.

”It saves me the energy of trying to prove him wrong, knowing I can never change his mind,” Alex muttered “that’s what good it does. Whatever, it’s a waste of breath talking to you about this anyway.”
Dante would never understand any of this. Alex had never been enough from the moment he was born. He hadn’t been enough to stop the war, he hadn’t been good enough as a prince. He had been taken hostage, so it was his fault the war had come to an end before Oralee could take victory. He had dared to be born with magic, he had dared to be half Levinian. All crimes his father would never forgive him for.
Alex snorted at Dante’s words about the dungeons.
“Trust you to think that one part of the palace should be allowed to fall into disrepair just because you see it as less worthy than any other part,” Alex commented
Just like Dante’s attitude about Alex. That the prince didn’t need to be treated with respect or even civility because he was somehow lesser than the other royals. Because he was clearly a troublemaker. Alex hated the way the young council member thought.
He’d never gotten along with Dante. He thought him a stuck-up, self-righteous snob. A man who just radiated jealousy, and couldn’t bear the thought that Alex’s life might be anything but perfect and Alex just an asshole. Dante practically bent over backwards to see the worst in the prince.
Still, Dante seemed to not have a problem with Alex going down to the dungeons. Which confused him; did Dante not know, or was he just calling Alex’s bluff in the hopes the prince wouldn’t actually go down into the dungeon? The man wasn’t sure, but either way it seemed like permission to head down to the dungeons, which Alex would accept happily.
“Please, I’m on my best behaviour,” Alex smirked at the councillor’s last words “if I wanted to cause trouble I would’ve run from you five minutes ago.”
That was true, and in fact Alex had done that several times before.
Anyway, the prince led the way towards the entrance to the dungeons, dodging through the mazelike hallways of the palace he knew so well. Alex could find his way around the place with his eyes closed if he had to. Not that he ever needed to, and it was kind of a dumb little ability, but still.
Eventually the young man came to a heavy wooden door, pushing it open and stepping through, holding it open for Dante to follow with a fake bow, as it Alex weren’t the prince in this situation. Then the young man headed down the stone staircase illuminated by flickering sconces. An echoing sound rang out as his feet struck the stone staircase.
The prince was relatively easily identifiable. Pale skin, long white-blond hair. The characteristic dull honey tone of his eyes. Not to mention his clothing. He wore expensive clothes befitting his station, trimmed with gold thread that shimmered in the light. Jewellery adorned him, bracelets and rings mostly. He had one ear pierced, from which hung a long drop earring of simple design and made of silver; it was mostly hidden beneath his hair but it occasionally glinted as it caught the light.
Alex got to the bottom of the staircase and emerged into the room, stopping dead when he saw that there truly was a figure in the cell. A young girl of perhaps sixteen, who looked at him with dulled violet eyes. A telekine.
What struck Alex most was that the girl seemed familiar somehow, but he couldn’t for the life of him figure out where he knew her from. It was just an uncomfortable turning in his stomach, just telling him that he somehow knew this girl.
The prince didn’t even look at Dante, in such surprise for a moment that his mouth dropped open a little. He had been expecting to see her, but some part of him still hadn’t really expected her to actually be there, for some reason.
“Dante,” Alex said when he finally gained the ability to speak “Care to explain the teenage girl in the dungeons?”

"I've always loved the rain," Zach murmured, just loud enough to be heard by Leon. He had climbed onto the other side of the building through his window, hoping to find what lay before him now. Sharing a room with the prince was difficult, sure, but an easy escape made the experience more bearable.
They had arrived at the seaside-village only a few days ago, recuperating physically and mentally from the Earth elemental. Drusilla had worked wonderfully, but at a certain point only time would be able to mend their wounds. Time. Precious time. He was reminded of this on a daily basis. The king and queen were still progressively getting worse, and their survival rested in the group's success.
"It makes me feel safer somehow," he added, neglecting to explain why. Odds are she would understand quickly. The rain tamed a flame. It made him feel safer from himself, and in turn made others safer.

Oralee Dante didn't offer a comment to Alex's retort. Alex wasn't wrong by any means, Dante was smart, but he thought himself smarter than Alex, a mistake. Despite Alex being a prince, Dante still had it in his mind that he was smarter, better, had been through more. Because what person foresaw a prince of all people unhappy with their life?
Though he rolled his eyes, "My mistake my liege, but I thought our concerns were with our people, not cells that are barely used." He retorted, nose in the air as it so often was.
Dante had some blind trust in the king, it wasn't obvious, but it was noticeable to those who thought about it. Not many knew of the young boys past, and he never would speak of it. Rough beginnings were not going to take down the job he had built for himself. When the king and council took him in, he took a dislike to Alex for the other man's lack of respect towards others.
Then again, disliking Alex seemed to be popular among those in the castle, and so, Dante had to play along. It was the status quo, and Dante didn't linger on unpopular opinions. If magic was disliked, then it must be wrong. If the prince was a snobbish brat, rebelling for no good reason, then he had to be handled.
Dante fought off a chuckle, the barest hints of a smile on his lips as Alex commented about running off. It was true, which was a bit funny in of itself. But Dante didn't laugh or smile, he worked. He only shook his head, "Then I dearly hope this isn't some plot to kill me," he grumbled, the barest amounts of concern in his voice.
After following Alex for some time, he gasped, spotting the small girl in the cell. It didn't seem he noticed the violet eyes yet, his eyes drawn lower, to the cuts that marred the young girl's skin. It almost made him sick to his stomach.
Minke, for her part, gave a gentle rise of an eyebrow, looking at Alex with an unimpressed sigh, rolling her eyes as he questioned his...who was this other boy? Fancy clothing, but obviously not royal. His aide?
"Yes, Dante, Care to explain the teenage girl in the dungeons?" she questioned, smirking as the aide seemed to flounder for a moment, unable to look at her. She chuckled softly, it was without humor though, "Enough playing dumb," she ground out then, eyes steely and determined, an air of authority to her, "Why are you down here with a pet, prince Alexiares?"
Dante was a bit astonished by the caged girl questioning the prince, seeming to almost argue against her disrespect, before he decided it wasn't worth it, because Alex deserved it. Instead he crossed his arms, "Council member, not pet."
"Alright whatever, pet. So, prince, care to explain?" She questioned, lilac eyes focused on Alex with unwavering curiosity. She knew of most of the royalty in the kingdoms, her short amount of time in Levina taught her some about the politics of Oralee, Levina, and Taraneh.
She let go of the bars, hands falling into her lap, as Dante seemed to finally notice her eyes, him completely freezing and backing up. She flashed him a grin, as the boy fainted, though her attention turned back to Alex, only letting of a few soft snickers at the events. She seemed to be leery of Alex though, curled up a bit more.

The Journey Leon jumped at the new voice, though her hand only made it partly to her weapon by the time she processed who it was, glaring back at Zach for a moment. Though she seemed to calm slightly, loosening up as she turned back towards the edge of the room, facing forward towards the soft rain. She hummed her response, knowing he likely had more to add.
When they arrived, Leon had made it her goal to hone in her abilities more, knowing she could have hurt her friends far beyond what she would have forgiven herself for. The flashbacks were horrible at the worst times, lead to her lack of control the first time. Her head felt fuzzy at other times.
The village was a nice one, sometimes stormy, which she enjoyed. Out in the rain, Leon could spot several figures, some closing up shops after long days, though one caught her eye, a wild-haired young girl, sneaking into a shop and emerging moments later with some objects, racing back into the night. She chuckled a bit at it, the action reminded her of herself, scrounging to survive.
She glanced back at Zach, a bit stunned by his bluntness, but his manner of handling it as well. She knew what he was alluding too, it still shocked her. Zach had two rare abilities, two dangerous ones. Of course he lived in tighter paranoia then she could imagine.
She offered a smile, "Nah," she hummed out, "I get what you mean. Rain is a constant, it's something I know will never-" she paused, biting her tongue, wincing immediately at the pain and bitter taste of blood the hasty action brought. "I mean, you know, droplets of water and stuff..."
She had lifted her hands, gesturing about to the storm slight, but the both fell with a heavy thud back to the roof, and she immediately shut up after her pathetic save.

Alex made no comment about Dante’s words about hoping it wasn’t a plot to kill him. Obviously it wasn’t, but Alex wasn’t guaranteeing anything. He thought about murdering Dante every time the two of them were stuck together and he wasn’t making any promises.
Alex was still trying to figure out where he knew this girl from when she questioned the prince about why he was down there, calling Dante his pet. Alexiares simply smirked at the name, and Dante’s indignation at being called that.
“Trust me, I’d have better taste in pets than him,” Alex replied “he’s more like a parasite I can’t shake.”
That seemed like a far better analogy, given that the two of them stuck with one another. Besides, it wasn’t like Alexiares was about to pass up on any opportunity to insult the council member.
She asked why he was there, and Alex folded his arms, quirking an eyebrow as he stepped one step closer to the bars.
“This is my house,” Alex replied “I live here. I should think the rest is fairly self-explanatory.”
Dante seemed to notice the girl’s eyes and Alex watched the blood drain from the younger boy’s face before he crumpled, fainting. Now, Alex didn’t like Dante. But that was a stone floor and Alex wasn’t about to be responsible for the other boy splitting his head open. That would be yet another thing for everyone to get mad at him for, plus he wasn’t that terrible of a guy. So he had to rush to catch Dante as he fell, carefully lowering him to the ground before turning his attention back to the mysterious girl.
Dante could deal with the whole being unconscious thing without Alex to help.
“You have to teach me how you did that,” Alex smirked - he would love to be able to make Dante faint with just a look.
Right now, Alex was focusing on her eyes, his own honey-coloured eyes meeting her dull violet ones. An expression of curiosity and fascination spread across his face, something that hadn’t happened in a long time. There was rarely anything in the palace for Alex to be that interested about.
“I thought the telekines were extinct,” Alex said, his voice hushed “hunted out of existence.”
He took in her face once more, a face that was infuriatingly familiar but which for some reason he couldn’t place. It was like he should know her, he should recognise her. Like the kind of thing his father would be ashamed of him forgetting. Which meant she must be somebody who was supposed to be important.
The scars criss-crossing her skin caused the boy’s eyebrows to pull together slightly, frowning a little at the idea that his father might have been hurting this girl. What the hell was that all about? Well, he knew what it was about; she had magic. But Alex hated him for hurting anyone like that, magical or not.
Besides, if this was what his father really thought of magical people, Alex realised as a pain filled his chest, it was also how he thought of Alex himself.
“Who...” he began “who are you?”

Eldred had been unable to sleep, awakened by the fever and night sweats that told him his condition was progressing. He was concerned he’d be unable to see this journey to its close, but he tried not to think too much about that. He would at least try to get the prince to a point where he could continue without him.
The elderly man’s main concern was the fact that they were in his old childhood village. They hadn’t noticed his unexplained absence earlier when he explored the village, finding the spots he had once frequented with his wife, even their old house too. And his sister’s house. Althea was still alive, living with her family in the village. Which was only more of a reason that he not linger any longer in this place. People knew him in Wisteria, especially this village, and they knew him as his wife’s murderer. And a magic-user to boot.
His mind racing, his body weak, he simply could not hope to get any sleep that night. So he had risen from his bed, stepping outside of his room into the small hallway where the bedrooms lay. Isabella was just next door, he remembered, and she was fast asleep. Unsurprising, after the exhausting fight some of the group had been involved in earlier that day.
Eldred began to walk down the hallway, deep in thought. The next room he passed was Leon’s, though he wasn’t aware she wasn’t in it. He’d had that conversation with her about how he knew her true identity. The Valdera princess, a girl he had last seen when she was just a small child. He recognised her now, though, and he could see it from her magic too. Her secret wasn’t as secret as she thought. Eldred could only hope his secrets were still hidden, though he knew this village could be the undoing of all of that. One wrong move and the whole crew would know his true identity. And they’d end up suspicious of the cough eventually. Still, for now it was fine.
He stopped for a moment when he noticed a young man walking down the hallway, a shifty looking character with a dark cloak and sickly pale skin. He seemed to be stopping outside of one of the rooms to open it, so Eldred stepped forward, clearing his throat to make his presence known.
“Forgive me, stranger,” Eldred greeted “it seems a strange time to be checking into an inn, the middle of the night like this. Have you business in the village?”
Most people would already be checked in and in their rooms by this time, not just arriving for the night. How strange Eldred thought the whole situation seemed. He knew he sounded like he was prying, a nosy old man, but he didn’t trust anyone. Someone had poisoned the king and queen after all; he had to keep the prince safe, and checking suspicious people like this was part of that. Not to mention there would be many people who’d like to see this quest fail. No, he had to find out what he could about who this person was.
He’s couldn’t let the prince be in any danger, nor the rest of the group.
What if this person was following them? Planning to sabotage the group or hurt Zahavi? What if it was someone else who knew who Leon was? No, he couldn’t take risks like that. Absolutely not.

Zach grinned slightly at her reaction to his sudden appearance. He hadn't meant to startle her, though, and so immediately wiped away whatever expression may have crossed his face. He joined her at the edge of the roof. Following her gaze, Zach caught sight of the shop thief. A badly suppressed chuckle escaped his throat. One and the same. He had no intention of stopping this person. If anything, he was silently rooting for them.
The sun had just recently dipped below the sea, but almost no one seemed to be out and about in the village. Strange, Zach thought, allowing his gaze to follow the streets up and down. Shops were all closed. Doors sealed shut. Wood panels were nailed onto windows as makeshift shutters. An aura of paranoia sifted about the village.
What did the night bring?
Zach eyed Leon suspiciously upon her abruptness. Never what? He nodded in agreement, choosing not go down a path that she didn't light up before him. The rain fell in warm licks, caressing his skin. A dull roar of thunder sounded in the distance, comforting him somehow. As if the low drone relaxed his wounds.
"This village," He began, pondering over the oddities that it possessed, "There's something off about it. Can you tell?" He had not heard anything that day within the streets to raise suspicion, but maybe Leon had.
A bolt of lightning lit up the sky, illuminating the streets for a moment and shaking the foundations.

Atreyu had just began to twist the key into room 214 when a noise alerted him of someone's presence. His eyes were slow to meet Eldred- a testament to the previous sleepless night. And now the elderly man was talking to him. What did he want? Concentration was hard, but the voice seemed easier to follow if he closed his eyes.
Business in the village. With those words, a tunnel of knowledge uncovered itself. Trey stepped into it, hoping to find something useful. His own mind was just as confusing as the world around him. At times like this something would present itself out of the blue. But it must be for a reason. The village, what about the village? He had no idea.
But then he did. And not just an idea. An entire catalog.
"I'm just passing through," He began, sluggishly meeting the man's gaze, "But I'll be staying here the next four nights or so. This village and the surrounding region is dangerous during the night." Images of a great, snake-like creature slinking in the deep filled his mind. "Especially on the full moon." The information spilled from his mouth, yet he still had no clue how he came to possess it. The boy just knew.
And the night of the full moon is tomorrow, he thought. Another random fact.
"My name is Atreyu, by the way," he said, offering a hand. The man in front of him was old and dying. He had seen much and knew more. Gaining his trust could be vital in learning information about the world he had awoken in.
