Sorry if I'm taking so long with my summaries here. I'm trying to be as thorough as I can be. Chapter 6: Now
The four of them are near ThunderClan's territory, and Graystripe sees that the reality of Squirrelflight's one-moon ultimatum is sinking in for the younger cats. Flywhisker suggests hunting, and Graystripe agrees. He thinks that when he was Snaptooth's and Flywhisker's ages, he rarely left ThunderClan territory. Perhaps he'd leave to make a trip to twolegplace or to visit Ravenpaw and Barley. While he appreciates the apprentices bringing him food since he is an elder, he enjoys being able to catch his own prey.
Suddenly, dogs appear, and Graystripe thinks that's he's far too old to be running away from dogs. He does however manage to scramble up a tree with Flipclaw and Flywhisker, while Snaptooth hides in a bramble thicket. Some twolegs come and take the dogs away, and they finish their hunt.
Later on, around sunhigh, Graystripe tells them that he's going to leave for the tribe. There's some objections, but they understand and bid him farewell. Graystripe says he hopes to see them in ThunderClan again, and leaves. Flipclaw later comes up to him and says he'd like to come with him. Graystripe assumes because he didn't want to be around Flywhisker and Snaptooth. Flipclaw says that Graystripe could use the protection, and Graystripe agrees (though doesn't want to admit he needs it) and the two head on their way to the tribe.
Chapter 7: Then
Graystripe asks Mousefur if she brought Russetfur and Rowanclaw with her, and she shakes her head, saying that Dustpelt and Brackenfur are bringing them to the camp, and she came to warn him. The camp is silent, and Mousefur asks what they should do. Graystripe sees no other alternative and says to let them come to the camp. He tells ThunderClan to continue with their duties as usual, and to make ThunderClan look like a busy, happy camp, and to not mention any issues with WindClan. Russetfur and Rowanclaw (here he's referred to as a muscular ginger tom)
Russetfur nods a greeting and says they'd like to talk to Firestar. Graystripe isn't sure what to say, and intended to tell them the truth; that StarClan called Firestar away on a mission, but at the last gathering, where he took Firestar's place, he realized admitted their leader not being in their Clan could be a sign of weakness, and instead said that Firestar was simply sick. Graystripe tells Russetfur that Firestar is out of camp, and Rowanclaw says that they can wait, as it's important.Graystripe is confident that ThunderClan will stand with him, and says that as ThunderClan's deputy, they can tell him anything they want Firestar to know. Rowanclaw and Russetfur aren't pleased, but concede that they can't wait all day for Firestar. Russetfur explains that they've scented BloodClan at the edge of the Thunderpath, opposite of ThunderClan territory. Graystripe's surprised and annoyed that they only recently drove them out, and now they're back. Cloudtail mutters that of course ShadowClan scents rogues first, and asks if they're just not sheltering them in their camp. Dustpelt and Mousefur agree. Rowanclaw and Russetfur are insulted by this, and Russetfur hisses that they thought they were doing ThunderClan a favour. Graystripe apologizes and says they're just worried BloodClan could be returning.
He orders Mousefur and Brackenfur to escort the two out, and once they leave, Cloudtail exclaims that he thought BloodClan was gone for good. Ashfur remarks that he knew something like this would happen when Firestar was gone, and their leader has left ThunderClan vulnerable. Speckletail agrees, and says that Clan leaders stay on their territory, not wandering off. Brambleclaw admits he wishes Firestar had stayed back. Graystripe and Cinderpelt share a glance since only they know that Firestar and Sandstorm left to rebuild SkyClan. Graystripe announces that they don't have a WindClan problem, but a BloodClan problem, asking if it's like them to just roll up in WindClan scent and then take prey on ThunderClan's territory. ThunderClan sees his reasoning, and agrees it's probably BloodClan. Graystripe orders that if they see WindClan on the border, to greet them peacefully. He then orders the hunting patrols again, and orders Brambleclaw and Dustpelt to come with him to the Thunderpath to investigate ShadowClan's claim, and Brambleclaw's response to this is "Cool!".
On their way there, he sees Brambleclaw is anxious, probably because every cat will remember that he is Tigerstar's son. As they walk alongside the Thunderpath, they're ambushed by some cats and realizes that ShadowClan was being truthful. Graystripe counts eight cats surrounding him, Brambleclaw, and Dustpelt. He spots one of them, a she-cat with patchy black, white, and tortoiseshell fur, is heavily pregnant. He feels sick seeing a cat so close to giving birth would be fighting them. Dustpelt murmurs to Graystripe that he can make out traces of WindClan, and Graystripe realizes he's right. Graystripe says he's glad he never confronted Tallstar. One of the cats, a long furred tabby she-cat with one eye with scars across her muzzle and shoulders, confronts him. She's disgusted by his response and asks if he thinks they would stoop that low. Graystripe says that, yes, he does think that. He calls them out on their attempt to spark a war with WindClan. Fury (I'm assuming this is who she is, it's not said) says it's a pity, and that ThunderClan has such nice territory, and that promises were made to BloodClan before Scourge died. Graystripe says that they drove them off before, and they can do it again. He says that she may be acting tough, but none of them can measure up to that "scrawny little tom". As he says this, Dustpelt and Graystripe are trying to protect Brambleclaw by keeping him behind them. Graystripe says that Firestar killed Scourge, and Fury acknowledges the fact, but says that they know Firestar is gone. Graystripe and Dustpelt are horrified.
Graystripe asserts himself and says that there's more cats in ThunderClan than there are here, and some gray tabby tom says that Graystripe is a stupid flea-brain, and asks if he thinks that the eight he sees are all of BloodClan. BloodClan leaps into battle, and Fury attacks Graystripe. It's begun to rain heavily, and Dustpelt is battling two ginger she-cats, while Brambleclaw is battling a tom with a patchy pelt. Graystripe evades Fury and helps Brambleclaw, telling him to leave and leave the fight for him and Dustpelt. Brambleclaw refuses, but Graystripe says that it's an order, and to go to ThunderClan for help. Brambleclaw leaves, and Graystripe and Dustpelt begin fighting all eight of them. Graystripe begins fighting Gremlin (assuming she's the pregnant tortie here), and Fury orders her to not hold back, and not to take it easy just because she's pregnant. Graystripe's weakened from fighting so many cats and goes limp. A cat asks if he's dead, and suggests throwing him to the dogs. They begin dragging him away, and Graystripe is in a lot of pain, knowing he can't fight a dog in his current state. He thinks he's just lost a lot of blood, as none of his bones are broken. They've dumped him in a twoleg garden, and the rogue's plan to let the dog kill him has failed because the dog is locked up in it's house. Graystripe thinks it's funny, and gets up. He's pretty sore, but he begins trekking back to camp. He doesn't see Dustpelt, and assumes he escaped back to ThunderClan. As he leaves, he spots the pregnant she-cat, and they lock eyes. She says nothing, staring at him. Graystripe limps away, but sees she's still staring at him. The chapter ends with him wondering why she let him escape.

So Flywhisker and Snaptooth stayed behind, while Flipclaw went with Graystripe to the Tribe. Interesting.
BC is back and I really hope that Gremlin's kits will be alright.

Chapter 8: Now Graystripe and Flipclaw are trudging up the mountain that leads to the tribe. Graystripe hopes it's the tribe's mountain, as he's never been. He and Millie followed a different path to join the Clans. He briefly considered going back to ThunderClan for directions, but decided against it. The ledge is growing steeper and Graystripe instructs Flipclaw to keep well away from the edge, but Flipclaw's too astonished with all the sights. He says that he can't wait to tell Bristlefrost and Thriftear about it. Graystripe thinks that Flipclaw plans on going home to ThunderClan. He warns him to keep his voice down. They encounter a gap, and Graystripe says they have to jump. A voice calls out, and says they won't do that unless they say so. Graystripe knows that they're tribe cats, and says his name, and he's looking for his kin. A pale gray she-cat exchanges a glance with a brown tabby tom, and asks if he really has kin here. Graystripe replies with that Stormfur is his son.
Thorn That Grows in Cleft (brown tabby tom) and Moon Shining on Water (pale gray she-cat) and cave-guards and immediately warm up to them. Moon says that Stormfur has told them lots of stories about him. Flipclaw interrupts it and introduces himself. Moon and Thorn invite them in and they head on to the Tribe's cave.
Flipclaw is in awe of the cave. Graystripe sees all the tribe cats' eyes peaked with curiosity on them. Graystripe then spots Stormfur. Stormfur spots him too, and bounds up to him, asking if it's really him. Graystripe's at a loss for words, and it's obvious he's missed Stormfur. A LOT.
Stormfur's in absolute joy that Graystripe's here. Stormfur immediately says that he needs to meet Brook. He brings him over to her, and introduces him to her, as well as Lark, Pine, Feather, and Breeze. Feather is also confirmed to be a tom.
Graystripe's just joyous meeting Stormfur's kits, acknowledging them as his kin. Brook asks if Flipclaw is kin to Graystripe. Graystripe realizes that neither Stormfur or Brook would be familiar with the majority of ThunderClan. Flipclaw answers that he isn't, but he is kin to Lionblaze. Brook's enlightened, and says that Flipclaw needs to tell them all about Lionblaze. Stormfur and Graystripe fall behind, and Stormfur remarks that it's funny he turns up now, as some of their prey hunters recently met with a rogue on the other side of the mountain, closer to the old forest. He was a tom, and asking for Graystripe by name. Graystripe's bewildered, asking why this rogue would be asking for him by name. Stormfur says he doesn't know, as none of the prey-hunters knew Graystripe, so no information could be given.
Graystripe is confused, and so is Stormfur. Stoneteller appears, and Stormfur introduces Graystripe and Flipclaw to him. Stoneteller says that ThunderClan is always welcome in the tribe. Stoneteller tells them to eat, but adds that he and Graystripe should talk together later. As they eat, Stormfur muses that he wonders if Feathertail is watching from both StarClan and the Tribe of Endless Hunting. Graystripe remembers that his daughter died years ago, and he reminisces about her with Stormfur. Graystripe mentions that Millie got sick and died, and Stormfur says he's sorry for his loss. Flipclaw then tells Graystripe that he thinks the tribe is great. He mentions that the tribe has no code, nor other tribes to bother them. Feather mentions they do have a code of their own, and the rogues down the mountain can be a problem sometimes. Feather is a prey hunter, and invited Flipclaw to come with him hunting the next day. Graystripe is proud that the "lively, yet respectful Feather was his kin". Flipclaw's excited. They eventually go to sleep, and Graystripe can't sleep. He spots the outline of Stoneteller heading towards him, and realizes that he better get the talk Stoneteller mention done and over with.

Ignoring the fact that Brook already knew Lionblaze and Graystripe (unless I'm misinterpreting the wording), this seems like a cute scene, and I'm glad we got confirmation on Feather's gender. Also, I'm assuming the rogue might be Barley.

Wow, that cover art is absolutely beautiful! It (almost) beats SqH's for me.
GV is on a good start, I can't wait to read what happens next!
And thanks for the summaries, Rockfoot! They're very well-written and concise.

And here we are. Moon Shining on Water is an absolutely beautiful name. Thorn That Grows on Cleft is an interesting name to say the least. I'm glad we finally got a gender on Feather and he's at least getting some personality. Feather is a prey-hunter like his mother, while the rest of his siblings are cave-guards like their father. Though Pine was supposed to be a prey-hunter given what was said in SOTM.
I wonder who this tom was. Thornclaw? No, he left before Graystripe revealed that he was going to the Tribe, didn't he? Hm.
Flipclaw seems to really like it here.

Chapter 9: Now
Graystripe hauls himself out his nest and pads across the cave, and mentions that Stoneteller wanted to talk. Stoneteller asks why Graystripe has come to the tribe, asking if he's troubled. Graystripe admits he is, and realizes he's never been able to talk about all the shit that's been happening at the lake with other cats. He vents to Stoneteller about Bramblestar's strange death, the impostor, and the division of current ThunderClan. Basically recaps TBC so far to him.
Stoneteller doesn't interrupt him, and when Graystripe finishes, he admits he sensed a shadow in the direction of the Clans when he consulted the pointed stones to direct the Tribe. Graystripe says that the worst thing is that they can't even speak with StarClan anymore. Stoneteller says he can try and help him. He brings him to a pool at the center of the cave. Stoneteller kind of just stares at it, and then tells Graystripe that there is indeed a shadow in the direction of the Clans, and adds that it is perhaps the reason the can't speak with StarClan. Graystripe asks if he can do anything, but wonders if he's just a useless elder. Stoneteller tells him to wait, and he'll look again. Graystripe thinks that Stoneteller is somehow able to see a shadow that lay over the lake, but then realizes that the Tribe of Endless Hunting is still able to be contacted, and wonders if they can speak to the Tribe's ancestors. Stoneteller says that they say he still has an important part to play, and he must leave the tribe and continue his journey. Graystripe remarks to himself that the Tribe of Endless Hunting is just like StarClan; neither can give a straight answer. Graystripe thinks Stoneteller is suggesting he return to the lake. As Stoneteller leaves, Graystripe prays for a sign from StarClan, asking what he's supposed to do. At first he thinks "I guess that's a no" but then a voice in his head says "Not yet".
Later on, Graystripe's fallen asleep. He wakes up, and decides that it's time for some answers. He greets Brook and decides he's going out for some fresh air. Graystripe takes in the sights of the mountains. He talks with some prey-hunters, and later hears a she-cat's scream. He sees a she-cat on the ledge. He asks what's wrong, and she ignores him, leaping down from the ledge into a cavern. Graystripe follows her and the she-cat gasps to fetch Stoneteller, as there's been an accident. Graystripe immediately thinks of Flipclaw, and tries to see what they're talking about, but he isn't able to. Stoneteller then arrives, and it's explained that there was a rockslide, and that Feather and Flipclaw were buried. The she-cat, named Crest of Snowy Mountain explains what happened, and Stoneteller's just like "Well why haven't you fools tried to get them out?". Crest leads the cats to try and find Feather and Flipclaw. Graystripe prays that he isn't dead.
They find the debris and see that Feather is trying to dig Flipclaw out of the rubble. The cats work together to get Flipclaw's body out, but he isn't moving. Graystripe concludes he's dead, and blames himself for letting him come. Stoneteller says "We won't give up yet!" And scoops all the dirt from Flipclaw's mouth. Graystripe feels uneasy with Stoneteller appearing to defile a corpse, so he looks away, taking note of a rock that resembles the Moonstone.

Rest of Chapter 9:
Brook cries out that Flipclaw's alive, and Flipclaw hacks up some dirt and asks what happened. He's not dead! Graystripe assumed wrong. Flipclaw's leg is dislocated but he's otherwise fine. Graystripe looks towards the Moonstone-like rock again, and spots a cat at the very top. It's Feathertail! He begins to call out to her, but his mind flickers to images of Firestar. He thinks to himself that Stoneteller's cave resembled the Moonstone, and now Feathertail has appeared on the rock, which looks just like the way Firestar described to him. He thinks that the ancestral spirits are trying to make him remember the Moonstone. He looks back to Feathertail, and she has a teasing light in her eyes, and looks amused.
He calls himself a stupid furball, and he almost ignored a sign from his ancestors, even though he asked for one. He wonders if the reason they cannot communicate with StarClan is not StarClan itself, but the Moonpool specifically. He knows it's back in the old territories, and wonders if he, an elder, could find StarClan for the Clans. He thinks that if it's true, there might be a service to him breaking his promise to Squirrelflight and leaving ThunderClan. He feels awful for leaving Squirrelflight like he did.
He thinks he could return to her with vital news about StarClan. He looks again to the rock, and Feathertail is gone. He whispers good bye, and knows that seeing her again has reopened the wound of her death. He concludes that she has shown him a sign, and tomorrow, he sets for the old territories and the Moonstone.

*Phew* Flipclaw is alive, folks! I was really worried about him, though I don't know if he'll be able to travel with Graystripe with his injury. We'll see.
Yay, Feathertail! She's not only StC, but also apart of the TOEH. I'm not surprised she's the one who came to Graystripe here.

Chapter 10: Then
Graystripe's limping back to camp. As he enters ThunderClan territory, Ashfur, Thornclaw, and Cloudtail emerge and greet him. They report that Dustpelt and Brambleclaw made it back, and Dustpelt assumed Graystripe was dead. Graystripe says that he clearly isn't, and says that they need to deal with BloodClan. Graystripe asks Dustpelt if he's okay, and Dustpelt says he'll live. Graystripe presses about the fact that Ashfur wants Dustpelt as deputy over Graystripe. Dustpelt, however, is just flabbergasted and Graystripe realizes that Dustpelt didn't even know about it. Dustpelt chokes out "What?", and Graystripe explains that Ashfur thinks he should appoint him as deputy since Firestar away and Graystripe is the temporary leader. Dustpelt's still appalled by this. Graystripe notes that he isn't a cat who gets confused easily, but this instance has just left Dustpelt speechless.
Dustpelt assures him that he knew nothing about it. He's only heard rumors, and asks if any other cat is in on it. Graystripe drops possibly Cloudtail and Mousefur, but Ashfur is for certain at the bottom of it. Dustpelt admits that while of course he'd like to be deputy, what cat wouldn't, he knows that with Firestar as leader it would never happen. He acknowledges that while he and Firestar are certainly not close and he definitely is not Firestar's favourite cat, he values being a loyal ThunderClan warrior. If Graystripe or Firestar do something mouse-brained, he's sure to call them out on it. But when it comes to loyalty and claws, Dustpelt ensures that he stands behind Graystripe and Firestar. He asks if Graystripe believes him.
Graystripe says "Every word". Dustpelt thanks him, and says that as for Ashfur, he says that if he hears anything more of it from Ashfur, he'll make Ashfur wish he had never been kitted. He says Ashfur would always argue, even as an apprentice. If he wanted to hunt at snakerocks, then Ashfur would argue for Fourtrees. He says that it's time Ashfur learned he can't always have his own way. They concede agreement and go off to their own ways. Cinderpelt is putting poultice on Longtail's eyes. Cinderpelt asks Graystripe where he hurts, and Graystripe replies "Everywhere!". Cinderpelt treats Graystripe, and he hears Ashfur talking shit about Graystripe, saying that Graystripe obviously just isn't up to leading them. Cloudtail asks where Firestar even is. Mousefur suggests that he went back to being a kittypet. Graystripe's getting annoyed now that they're slandering Firestar and making Graystripe feel horrible. Longtail's brooding in his nest and remarks that he wishes he could see, so he could be more help to him. Graystripe assures him that his loss of eyesight isn't his fault, telling him to rest up.
Graystripe whispers to Cinderpelt that since he's in charge, he needs to lead ThunderClan against their enemies. The next morning, Graystripe makes an announcement and says they need to deal with BloodClan. Cloudtail groggily asks "You're joking, right?" Graystripe ignores him and says that BloodClan is back, and they need to search and survey the entire territory. He wants two groups to patrol the border in opposite directions. He orders Dustpelt and Brambleclaw to stay behind since they were wounded in the fight the other day. He says he'll lead one patrol, and Ashfur the other, thinking that some responsibility will make him stop complaining.
Graystripe, Mousefur, Cloudtail, Thornclaw, and Sootpaw have been patrolling the border all day. They're tired, and the others want to go back to camp for some food and rest. Graystripe agrees, but can't help but feeling that somewhere, BloodClan is spying on them, but he thinks to himself that he won't let them take ThunderClan.

So Graystripe’s going to head to the Moonstone - probably without poor injured Flipclaw. Wonder if/when he’ll run into the rogue tom looking for him?

Damn, that's a good Dustpelt moment. The pointed Ashfur Problems during the pre-TNP era are kinda :/ though.
Flipclaw better stay in the Tribe with his new boyfriend.

So Dustpelt didn't even know about this whole being deputy thing. That's nice to know. Ashfur just wants his old mentor to be deputy. Also, apparently Ashfur always argued since he was an apprentice. I suppose we just never really saw that side to him.
