TRADITION STUFF
THE SOLSTICE FESTIVALS
Twice a year, on days preordained by our ancestors and the powers that be, the four clans come together in momentous celebration. The celebrations are hosted at the Waterfall, but each clan attends and brings not only a share of prey, for all the clans to feast on, but a host of cats โ from the wiliest kits to the most sagacious elder โ to enjoy the festivities. Cats often decorate their pelts with berry juices. The different colors represent the changing of the seasons.
Green Day โ the summer solstice festival takes place during the day. Each of the four clans puts on a show displaying their talents, and individual members of the clans are encouraged to prepare independent shows that they can put on for small audiences throughout the day. Itโs a great social event. Fun competitions are put on between the apprentices, similar to carnival games, where they accomplish silly but fun tasks like collecting leaves and throwing pinecones. The last event of the festival is a giant feast. It ends at sundown.
The Longest Night โ the winter solstice festival takes place during the night. The events of the longest night are similar to Green Day, except rather than a theme of abundance and plenty, at the Longest Night the theme is perseverance and spirituality. The Longest Night puts the medicine cats at the center of the stage; the clans still preform, yet these performances are usually about history and mysticism. Cats typically use berry dyes to color their coats cool shades, such as blue and purple. A feast is hosted at sunrise.
THE GAMBIT
Once every three moons, the four clans come together for a friendly inter-clan competition called the gambit. Itโs basically a triathlon, where each clan nominates two of their best apprentices who complete three challenges: a climbing challenge, a running challenge, and a jumping challenge. The challenges are slightly different for every gambit, and the deputies come together, typically the gathering before each Gambit, to decide what the challenges should be this time. The challenges are designed so that each cat has an equal opportunity to succeed, and even challenges that seem to favor one clan may have tricks that certain cats can use, if they can figure them out, to get ahead.

We might want to leave a couple med cat/deputy spots open for other people who join the clans too. Just an idea :)

Yeah I wonโt be staking anymore higher positions! ;w; I just got the BeetleClan leader and WaspClanโs medicine cat apprentince, but if anyone else really wants the medicine cat apprentince position I wonโt mind giving it up since I already got a high position. c: also the traditions look great! Awesome job!

i'm considering making a beetleclan queen (she's gonna be straight), if anyone has any single toms/wants to make a mate for her in either of those clans ;p i will also have an elder in mothclan who can be anyone's daddy if needed

Okay. So spiderclan is pretty much pure mountain territory. And the base of the mountain, is Waspclan. Correct.? Brokenstar , could a good landmark be at the top of the mountain, a little ways from the camp, maybe a dip in the mountain terrain.. We could have a big area that has some trees, And a grassy area with a pool of water.? Maybe there can be some rocks that dip down into the area, that has like four rocks, one for each direction, that are formed into a shape.? And that area could be used for training.? Also. Have this idea, of maybe a ledge, a distance from the camp, with a small cave. (Enough for two) And thereโs a Large heart shaped rock. And sitting on the ledge, you can see almost everything and the stars and the moon. Maybe this can be a private area for when two warriors want to admit their feelings for each other and ask one or the other if they would like to be their mate or not.? And maybe we can have an area, where thereโs a couple of giant ledges, where the sun hits perfectly, and itโs always pretty warm. Like sunningrocks, but ledges. And itโs a big spot for elders and queens to hang out, especially.? Crumbling rocks.? A dangerous area, that leads to Eagles Run. Often the lightest warriors, will travel here, to reach Eagles run, to hunt the birds that nest there. Only warriors are allowed. Eagles Run-An area where Eagles and other birds nest, often easy to find baby birds. A group of warriors will hunt the bigger birds, if safe enough. |

ooo! what kind of cake is it ghost? and i would love if you made the mate! i'm thinking the she-cats names is going to be lavendersky, and she's going to be a right-proper little lady, kind of attention seeking and bratty but like layered in bubblegum sweetness. big girly girl.

okay I'm up for the morning.
As for which Clans have beef, it totally makes sense that Wasp and Beetle wouldn't be on the best terms. Beetle's spring camp is very close to Wasp's borders, and if the meadow has a bad winter, or bad spring floods, or maybe a bad fall brushfire still recovering, BeetleClan would probably be sneaking onto Wasp's territory for some hunting in or near some ponds. It probably doesn't happen very often, but there would be some bad blood between them on that front.
Beetle would probably be most friendly ideologically with Moth, who also values history. I'd imagine this would be in more a sports team sense: if the beetleclan candidate lost, they would cheer instead for the mothclan participant. They probably wouldn't be the most fond of the way mothclan's storytelling inherently tries to exaggerate and flex creativity as their songs are usually very blunt and straightforward, so they'd have arguments on creative freedom, but that would be a minor disagreement between scholars not a straight territorial dispute.
I think Beetle would think of SpiderClan as reclusive and somewhat mysterious. There would def be tall tales told that bad kits would be taken to the top of the mountain, where spiderclan sings trees into traps covered in spiderwebbing. Practically, they would be neutral. They would only really interact on solstices and gatherings, and I don't think there would be anything inherently off putting from either party.

I just thought it would be spicy if there was a mystery plot of who their real parents are and why they were abandoned as kits? But that's just an idea!
