Orson
Orson blinked in surprise at the name she gave of the smaller, younger man. He grinned excitedly, though there was a sadness tainting his joy. Yes, Orson knew Zyair. He knew Zy just about as well as everyone else in the kingdom. Orson was quite familiar with the boy’s story, and had been saddened when his friend had left. Although, do you blame him?
Every day the sickness spread further throughout the kingdom, taking more lives with it. Honestly, you’re doing the same. Running to a better life while your people die. He blinked, focusing back in from his thoughts, turning to the table with a grin on his face.
”I would hardly dismiss such a kind deed, Princess. And I am very grateful you did, as Zyair is an old friend of mine. I look forward to catching up with him,” He chuckled slightly, turning his gaze gratefully toward the lovely princess before him. He watched her response to his promise of honesty as he picked up another grape, chewing as quietly as a small mouse, eyes dancing with glee. ”You can ask whatever, whenever. No worries,” He reassured once more.
He sobered slightly as she grew shy, focusing more on her as he did his best to quell the nerves snaking up his spine at her blue eyes. She was just so beautiful. It was almost a little overwhelming. And, it wasn’t just her physical beauty stunning the poor prince. She had a dazzling intellect and an even more gorgeous heart. She was radiant and kind, and he felt his heart pound a little harder at her compliment.
He leaned forward slightly as she spoke, stare intensifying slightly as she avoided his gaze. He couldn’t help himself, captivated by her. Then, it was his turn to be bashful, turning his gaze to the side as he felt heat in cheeks at her statements. She was just too kind and flattered him so.
He cleared his throat, gaze returning to her. Gently, he raised one hand to brush a strand of hair back from her face, tucking it neatly behind her ear. He gave a soft smile, shy, as his hand gently came up to cup her cheek. He felt his heart rate accelerate, butterflies bursting free in his stomach as he held her gaze.
His own softened as he tilted his head slightly, leaning in subconsciously. His eyes tenderly studied her, mind whirling as he tried to quell the nerves. His gaze travelled to her lips for a moment, soft and inviting before returning to her eyes. He swallowed hard, thumb smoothing lightly over her cheek as he shifted, pulling her slightly closer to him.
No one had ever made him feel the way she did.
Talulla
Talulla’s mind tumbled as she stumbled down the hills toward the stables, eyes struggling to adjust to the dim lighting while also fighting back tears. It was foolish of her to be upset about this, knowing full well that her father was without a doubt completely correct. Of course he was right; No one would willingly wed her, especially not with the stories.
Foolish girl, you should have known!
Talulla stumbled over a rock then, twisting her ankle as she staggered for balance. She took a deep breath, straightening her skirt and swiping at her eyes, giving a small sniffle. She rotated her ankle for a moment, ignoring the sharp pains before continuing down, more focused on her path now. She brushed her hair back from her face as she sniffled again, making her way into the stable. Heads popped over stalls with soft knickers, snorts, ad stamps of greeting as she made her way to her beloved, stopping only to greet the others by name for a moment.
”Alright Tudda, come on, I need to run,” She greeted at the last stall. Tudda* straightened, tossing his head proudly as she opened the stall, letting him out to the yard. He looked over her, lipping at her nose in concern as she shooed him off before swiftly pulling herself up to mount. ”I’m fine, please, let’s just go,” She stammered, voice thick with tears as she shifted. She was riding bareback, of course, straddling Tudda like a man, skirt hiked up freely about her legs. Her father would have dropped to the floor if he saw her, but she was able to ride like herself out here, away from the eyes of the castle. She wound her fingers through his mane before squeezing him lightly with her thighs. Tudda began to move forward at a slow gait, letting her adjust before moving into a trot. As they neared the woods, she leaned forward, wrapping her arms around his neck before simply whispering, ”Go, please.”
And with that, they were gone.
They flew through the forest, Talulla finally allowing the tears to fall. Look at you, you foolish girl, crying so much. You are weak and a disgrace. Your father was right; Silas has every right to bore of you, to become disinterested and leave you behind to ride your horse like an uncivilized peasant. You are an embarrassment to you father and in less than a week, you'll become an embarrassment to your husband. Why would you delude yourself into thinking he could care about you?!
She wasn’t paying attention to Tudda, who rode roughly, as she gripped him tightly, eyes squeezed shut as the wind whipped her hair from her face and tears from her eyes. So, it was no surprise that when Tudda leapt over a particularly large log that she was jostled to the point of stirring her into focus. ”Tudda, slow down! Wait a minute, this is the bad part!” She cried desperately trying to wind her fingers into his mane once more to pull him to a stop without hurting him. Tudda, however, could not hear her, leaping too quickly again. Talulla felt adrenaline in her blood as she struggled to readjust when suddenly Tudda slammed to a stop, sending the poor girl flying over him. She tumbled roughly, landing in some (thankfully) soft moss and ferns as she gasped. She lay for a moment as Tudda stamped ferociously, anxiously moving towards her. She shifted, sitting up as she began to sob now, this all just too much.
”Tudda, please,” She pleaded with a soft sob as she took a moment to breath before glancing over to see what had stopped them. Across the path was a rather large fallen oak, its roots ripped free from the ground. It was scorched, showing signs of fire. No, lightening. She sniffled, swiping at her dirty face and brushing hair, dirt and tears from her eyes as she shakily got to her feet. Tudda plodded over with a softy whinny of apology. Talulla accepted, gently running a hand over his neck to soothe and let him know that despite the slight limp from the ankle she had twisted earlier and then just landed on again, she was okay.
By her feet, soft ferns unfurled as small flowers began to creep free along the underbrush, the forest stirring to life before her. She ran her hand over the oak lovingly, feeling sorrow for the poor thing. It didn’t even know what it did wrong. She looked upon it, feeling herself like a tree that the gods had decided was worthy to suffer smite, staring at the singed, dead wood. She peered in, however, and found a treasure trove within the fallen bark. Mushrooms and bugs and worms crawled along; a whole ecosystem was flourishing in this ruins of this mighty tree. She straightened again, swiping at her eyes with a small smile, resting her hand on the rain soaked wood.
”Alright Tudda, I’m alright I think. I’ll be okay. If Silas doesn’t want me, or he does, it doesn’t matter. I have you and Dario and my books. I’ll be okay, just like this tree, yeah?” She gave a warm bubble of a dry laugh, leaning down to kiss the oak before turning to Tudda. She gave him a kiss as well before she mounted once more, wincing slightly. Those will definitely be bruises by morning.
She rode back slowly, not noticing the moss creeping up to consume the oak, flowers blooming along in her wake. Such beauty in the remains of destruction.
Tudda took her right to the stables where she dismounted, leading him in. She brushed out his mane, tail, and coat, gently, then checked his hooves for anything that might cause him discomfort. Then, with a final kiss, she began to make her way up to the castle. Despite the light beginning to creep up, she hardly felt tired, still mulling over everything as it all fell into place. She limped up with the occasional sniffle, making her way into the castle. She crept to her room, still lost in her thoughts. So lost, in fact, that she almost didn’t notice Silas until she was practically upon him.
She felt her heart thump loudly in her chest as Dario peeked up at her with a flick of a tail in greeting but not moving from where he was curled up by Silas. The prince looked gloriously disheveled, dimly lit in the rising sun. He could have been a chiseled marble sculpture from the Greeks themselves, hair falling lightly around his face as his chest rose and fell gently. She felt, suddenly, extremely self conscious as he lay there like a perfect gift from the gods while she was covered in dirt, tears, and twigs while her face was puffy and blistering red from the wind whipping, eyes bloodshot, while her curls were a matted mess falling around her shoulders and down her back. She swallowed hard, finally sinking down beside him, legs tucked beneath her as she took a few calming breaths to try to slow her thundering heart and the tomato flare in her cheeks. She stared at Dario, unsure of what to do.
Dario, of course, was basically as much help as a doorknob.
She took another deep breath before reaching out to gently shake his shoulder. She bit her lip, giving him another gentle shake, shushing him when she startled him.
”Hey, hey, sorry. Come on, let’s get you to your room, yeah?” She whispered gently, having trouble meeting his gaze. She cleared her throat softly, getting to her feet and gently pulling him to his. She paused, gently straightening his shirt and pushing his hair back from his face with a soft smile before taking him by the hand. She ignored the electricity sparking up her arm as she began to lead him gently down the hall to his room, trying her best to hide her limp as they went, Dario padding along silently beside them.
When they got to his room, she let them in. She guided him to the bed, pushing him in. She pulled his shoes off, helping him out of his vest and shirt before tucking him in. She patted his cheek lightly with a soft smile before turning to leave, trying her best to keep her cool and pretend like this wasn’t more than just her helping a guest in the castle. Trying to pretend she wasn’t tucking her shirtless fiancé into bed.
*Tudda meaning a decisive, daring and freedom loving person— or, in this case, horse.

»Anaris Vass
Her eyes went wide as he said he knew the kid she'd brought into the castle that actually made her really happy. "You know him? Oh that is even better! That will be really good for him to know someone here." Anaris said happily. She was relieved that meant she would be the only person who trusted the boy off the bat. Some people in the castle had a hard time trusting outsiders. Anaris on the other hand didn't care where you were from as long as you were a good person.
Hearing him give her full opportunity to ask him all the questions she wanted whenever she wanted was great news for her, maybe not for him he might risk loosing an ear with how she was going to talk it off. She continued to talk unaware of him getting closer to her, she wasn't really noticing herself getting closer to him either.
The touch of his hand sent a rush of electricity throughout her body, her eyes locked on to his, the small smile that graced his lips drawing her in. She found her breath getting caught in her chest as he moved closer to her. Anaris made no moves to escape this very intimate moment with him. The princess learned her cheek into his hand a bit, leaning ever so much closer till she could smell the scented oil on his skin. Her eyes watched him like her watched her, noticing him looking at her lips cause a pink hue to cross her cheeks and nose. Of course, Anaris couldn't help herself either, her eyes moved to his lips and she took a bit of a breath to calm herself. The butterflies in her stomach had reached her throat and her palms were starting to get a little clammy. They rested softly against his forearms and shortly after closer to his elbows as he pulled her closer to him.
Less than inches from each other she could feel his breath against her. Heartbeat now racing her mind spinning at this point. Was he going to kiss her, was she going to kiss him? Then everything came rush down as the sound of her mothers throat clearing dragged her out of the clouds. Instantly her eyes darted over to her mother but she didn't move away from him. "Hello mother." The princess said, like nothing was happening.
"Really Anaris, you can eat food not hanging on each other." The woman said firmly her arms folded over her chest. So the princess moved away from him, knowing her mother meant business and if Anaris fought with her at this ball her mother would have her head. Her eyes moved to the prince for a moment and she smiled before looking away once more. She didn't care how upset her mother got, she was always upset about something. The queen just sighed and offered Orson a soft smile, "It is nice to see you both get along so well at least."
»Silas Payne
Shifting a little Silas felt something moving him but he just kind of whined and tried to ignore it. His face scrunching a little as he felt his body shaking once more. His eyes then shot open as he remembered were he was, asleep on the floor in front of the princess's room. "Oh! Princess!" Silas said a little louder than he had meant to, but thankfully the snoring had made it rather hard to talk. "I fell asleep.." The man mumbled, almost whispering now. His eyes half open now as she hushed him rested on her. Everything was fuzzy as he fought to keep his focus on her, she looked like a mess. But he nodded agreeing on getting to his room. The floor and her door were not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world.
He stood up, grateful she was able to pull him to his feet pretty well, that made sense though, if she could climb trees there was some strength within her. The prince's gaze wandered down, Dario was still with him. Was he warming up to him? That was nice. Following the guidance of the angel come to save him from sleeping on the floor he found his way to the somewhat familiar setting of his room. As she helped him out of his clothes from the night before he chuckled a little, very much unaware that he was now half undressed in front of Talulla. It was hard to be nervous or embarrassed when you were barely processing. The prince whined a little once again, protesting something.
As she turned to leave his hand reached out almost throwing the blanket she had so neatly tucked off of him and grabbed her wrist. Silas pulled gently, but there was enough force that there wasn't much of a chance to fight it, and pulled her to him. The blanket fell slowly onto both of them and his arms wrapped around her with ease. Silas didn't care how dirty she was he just needed to hold her. To know that she was okay and safe. His face buried into her hair he let out a sigh. Lavender, faint and sort of hidden by the smell of dirt and horse, but still he knew that scent.
In his haze, he'd noticed the limp, she'd been supporting him after all, and the barely-there cringe when he took her up on the offer of help. "I looked for you all night." He mumbled, slowly falling asleep again, "You should get that ankle looked at tomorrow." The prince tightened his grip on her. "Talulla, please don't cry anymore at least not alone." He whispered softly kissing the top of her head, well, as best he could it was more her hair than anything else. "I was a few doors down...Stay here for a ...bit..." With that the prince was asleep. His arms loosened a little slowly as he slipped into sleep fully once more but they remained around her. The rise and fall of his chest was steady and calm, so was the sound of his heartbeat, even in his sleep this felt right to have her there beside him.

Orson
Orson watched Anris lean into his hand, sending his heart aflutter once more in time with the butterflies lining his stomach. He swallowed hard, finding it harder to breath as she held his gaze, herself leaning in to him. She smelled divine, like a lovely, fragrant flower with a hint of vanilla, and it was almost intoxicating to have the combination of her warmth and scent luring him in.
He found himself, suddenly, way too close for proper manners. But, then again, it would seem Anaris didn’t really care much for proper manners as her hands trailed down his arms, leaving sparks in her wake. He gave a slight shudder, unable to contain himself as the nerves slithered down his spine. The moment, however, was thankfully broken apart by a soft clearing of the throat.
Orson felt heat flood his cheeks and spread down to his chest, flushing the poor boy as he stiffened. He shifted, sheltering Anaris as he turned to see who had interrupted, slight annoyance but mainly embarrassed nerves as he did. He blinked when he saw it was the queen, flushing anew as he politely released Anaris, putting some space between them before shifting into a low bow.
”My apologies, your Majesty. I believe the close proximity was my fault, as I forgot my manners for just a moment,” He soothed before straightening, apology written into his features. The trick was that he wasn’t really sorry at all. Just sorry to be interrupted.
”Thank you, madam. Truthfully, Anaris is more than easy to get along with, she’s very bright and kind,” He praised with a warm smile and a glance over to her. He held Anaris’ gaze for a moment, apologetic and bashful, a strange look for the calm and collected boy. He cleared his throat, straightening slight as he clasped his hands behind his back.
”Is there anything I can help you with, your Highness?” He inquired, quirking an eyebrow up as he tilted his head, gaze returning to the queen as he tried to politely ask why she had come in here to interrupt them. Not that he minded, truthfully. It was highly improper and rude of them to be so close together in the presence of so many guests. Don’t forget perfect, too. He gave a glance around, wondering how much longer this ball was going to stretch on, and where the rest of the guests had adjourned to, realizing that during their absence the music had faded considerably as well as the sounds of conversation.
Talulla
Talulla found it hard to not be a little smitten with the prince, sleepy and precious as ever. Despite his staggering beauty and intellect, it was quite charming to see him so completely unaware and... vulnerable. He trusts you enough to be vulnerable. She felt her heart stir, and she fought hard to quell it, focusing on stiflng her limp more than anything as she supported him. She didn’t want to show any more weakness to this prince that would soon bore of her; there was just, simply, no point.
Dario watched them with half lidded eyes, tail flicking as he fell behind. He knew Silas was the best possible match for his beloved princess, but he also knew that Talulla was having a swirl of confusing and conflicting emotions. It was his job to help her through this, and to get her to trust Silas after the damage her father did.
Talulla wanted nothing more than to escape to a warm bath in her room full of bubbles. Maybe if I soak long enough, I’ll melt away down the drain with the rest of the water. However, despite her own personal intentions, it would seem Silas had his own that he wanted to play out. She flinched slightly when he grabbed her, an old habit she couldn’t quite shake, and found herself tumbling backward, ankle betraying her as she attempted to catch herself. She crashed, ungraceful as ever, onto his bed, breath whooshing out of her as he wrapped his arms around her, cradling her to his chest.
Suddenly, it was Talulla’s turn to become the marble statue.
She turned to stone beneath his grasp, not even daring to breath as her eyes dilated, heart racing with newfound adrenalin. She lay there as he spoke, unmoving and uncomfortable, body frozen solid as his breath tickled her ear. Her nose flared slightly as she processed what was happening. And then, his lips connected with her head and oh.
She melted beneath him as he nestled against her, the warmth from his body thawing her with his gentle touch. Her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion as she tried to comprehend what was happening. Here was this beautiful gift from the gods with his arms wrapped around her, holding her to him with a tongue of gentle silver. His words seemed to carress her, soothing her into relaxation as she found shock and surprise that he was... worried about her. Now, nothing made sense anymore.
I mean, supposing that her father was correct, then that would mean that Silas did not care about her, really, and that he was already growing bored of her. But now, Silas was holding her and showing concern. ”I looked for you all night... You should get that ankle looked at tomorrow... Talulla, please don’t cry anymore...not alone...” She blinked, confusion clouding her mind once more. He wouldn’t be doing this or saying these things if he didn’t care... right??
She couldn’t tell you how long she lay there, feeling nothing but confused until finally she heard a small chirp. She had felt Silas’ grip loosen a bit ago, but it wasn’t until Dario’s chirp that she decided it was best if she left. She gently slipped from his grasp, delicate as a flower and made her way to her room in the early morning light. Behind her, small vines with dainty blue flowers had crept into Silas’s room from the balcony, curled neatly at the edge of the bed where she had last been.
She drew herself a bath and was already deeply submerged in the bubbles when Constance arrived. Constance combed out her hair and urged the young girl to eat something, but Talulla insisted she wasn’t hungry. She pulled on a light beige, simple cotton gown, fashioning the skirt into pants once more and then had Constance plait her hair into a simple braid stretching down beyond her waist. She kissed Constance goodbye and grabbed her satchel before she slipped behind the tapestry in her room and crept down the damp corridor, barefoot as was per usual. She emerged in the library where she collected several books before she climbed out the window and down the trellis. She ignored the stiff pain in her ankle when she dropped on it and did her best to walk without a limp as she made her way to the stable.
There, she threw a gentle, lightweight blanket over Tudda before mounting the horse again. She greeted him warmly before tangling her fingers into his mane and squeezing, sending him trotting out the barn and down to the Moors for the afternoon.
As they rode, she tried hard to work through her thoughts. Everything was more confused and mixed up than ever. She couldn’t make sense of anything. ”I guess I just need to hang with you Tudda, for a couple of days. Clear my head, you know? No need to bother the prince, I’m sure he’s busy,” She decided, nodding to herself. Tudda snorted, shaking his head and her eyes narrowed slightly.
”Well, I don’t know what else to do, Tudda. I just don’t know...” She trailed off, latching onto her bottom lip as Tudda slowed, stamping his feet for a moment roughly. She looked irritated now, indignant. ”I am not running away! I’m just thinking. I’m not scared!” She retorted. Tudda tossed his head with a knicker that sounded roughly like a laugh before resuming the trot as they fell in silence.
Behind her, a small trail of thorny vines and tiny shrubbery burst free in their wake, warding off any potential followers.
Dario watched Talulla and Tudda fade into the trees, tail flicking with narrowed eyes. He slipped out down to Silas’s room, letting himself in. He leapt gracefully on the bed before climbing up onto the sleeping man’s chest, sitting neatly. He began to purr softly, kneading the man’s skin like he was making biscuits, staring down at him and waiting for him to wake, tail flicking lightly against his stomach.

»Anaris Vass
I'll fight you Anaris watched him grow bashful, how cute even when he was embarrassed he shifted to shield her from the embarrassment of being seen this close to him. Not that it embarrassed her any, she didn't much care for the formalities, they were going to be married soon anyway so why did it matter? But his praise caused her own cheeks to flush red. He was too sweet, she couldn't help but want to be close to him.
For a moment the queen watched him but said nothing. His praise of the young girl was very welcome, but she wasn't very fond of the closeness of the two royals. But she supposed they were to be married, but she preferred affection be done privately, even between her and the king. It was proper. "Yes, she can be those things." Her eyes looked over Anaris. She was a smart and kind woman but she lacked the proper manners for a queen at least in her opinion. She was too busy trying to play warrior all the time. "I came to inform you both that guests would be filtering in here soon for food, then the ball will be coming to an end. I assumed I would need to check on you before allowing the rest of the guests in." Her mother said with a soft sigh. As if they had known she was coming the servants who'd been in the room previously had slowly filtered back in and were back at their posts.
Anaris turned as she heard the coming in and her eyes landed right on the young boy and she waved a little bit a big smile. "Hi." She whispered earning another cleared throat from her mother. The princess stood straight and pushed her shoulders back and the mask was back on. Time to act like a good little princess who wouldn't much rather be in the arena sparing with the knights. Not that she was going to tell her mother that, gods she'd have a fit. It wasn't proper to be fighting with men, well it wasn't proper to be fighting with the women of the castle either so what choice did she have. They wouldn't have been a challenge anyway. She knew that from experience growing up. All they did was cry when she pushed them.
The queen began to leave the room after that but she paused. "And Anaris. Good job not causing a scene with your cousins. For once you held your tongue." The woman left and Anaris frowned at her mimicking her under her breath for a moment. With a roll of her eyes she huffed, what kind of backhanded compliment was that. Her gaze moved to Orson and her harsh blue eyes softened looking at him.
"It seems we will have to keep the proper amount of space between us from here on out." The princess said with a small laugh as people began to come in slowly and heading toward the food most people glancing at the two as they entered. Anaris simply offer a small smile to them greeting each judgment with kindness
»Silas Payne
Silas slept soundly with the princess held against him, he'd taken no notice of how stiff she was or that she'd melted against him as he mumbled to her. The prince had begun to snore a bit as he slept holding the ray of sunshine with him. He slept soundly with her there, not moving and not waking up as usual. Even as she slipped out of bed he stayed asleep his body shifting to sprawl out as the space was granted.
When the warmth of the sun finally hit him and woke the prince he groaned and stretched a bit. It was then that he realized Talulla was gone. He pushed himself up since he was now laying on his stomach and looked at the space where she'd been confused. When had she left? He got up rubbing the sleep from his eyes and noticing the vines that had made their way onto his bed, he leaned down to smell the flowers for a moment before he drew his own bath and got ready for the day.
Stepping out into the hall he was greeted by his mother. "Finally you are awake, why did you sleep in so late you missed breakfast." The woman said firmly, but the soft touch of her pushing a stray hair behind his ear betrayed the firm tone. The prince shrugged just short of brushing it off like it was nothing.
"I just was tired is all, we had a long trip here and the princess showed me her mother's garden last night while you were at the ball." He said with a shrug as he began to walk his mother falling in step with him.
"Oh yes speaking of that, how is she, I noticed the poor thing was overwhelmed. I heard quite a few people whispering about how that is a normal thing for her?" The queen asked clearly worried about the young girl.
"I think she is...okay? We talked and spent a lot of time together, she is, fascinating." The man said breathing the last word with a small smile. This earned him a look from his mother. He'd never spoken about a girl like that, it was always, they were nice. Or they were boring.
"Oh? So you like this one?" His mother said eyeing him still. Silas instantly blushed getting nervous. He rubbed the back of his neck and laughed.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that." Silas said quietly, "Uh, so have you seen the princess? I meant to talk to her." He said, but the queen hadn't seen her Talulla also hadn't been at breakfast either. He frowned, "I'm going to go find her." He gave his mother a quick kiss on the forehead and was off to find her. Maybe finding Dario would be the best way to find her.

Orson
Orson held the queen’s gaze. He was, as always, respectful and charming, but there was a certain fierce protection smoldering in them beneath the surface. Clearly, he was determined to ensure that the princess didn’t receive the brunt of the blow from the queen and her demand for formalities, but he wasn’t foolish enough to also challenge her. He had that perfect balance between polite and bold.
He followed the queen’s gaze to Ana, eyes softening tremendously as he gave a soft sigh, relaxing a bit. He gazed upon her with a quiet admiration, the dark gaze growing fonder by the minute. I am the luckiest man in the world. He straightened as the queen spoke, giving a simple nod as he felt light heat whisper in his cheeks once more. I guess I do have to be a little grateful for her warning… though I don’t really care what our “guests” think, rude as they are. He took a calming breath, turning to follow Anaris’ gaze.
His eyes suddenly lit up with joy as he and Zyair made eye contact the servant freezing in surprise before grinning, making his way over. The two could hardly contain their excitement as they awaited the queen’s departure. Orson managed to keep his cool a little better than the boy, turning his attention back to Anaris. Of course, practice makes perfect.
Orson couldn’t help but give a rather undignified snort as the queen left them and Anaris gave her faint mockery behind her. It was adorable really, those icy blue eyes rolling in a way that didn’t even bother to try to hide her disrespect. He kind of loved her no fuss attitude and her straightforward personality. I think it’ll be very easy to fall in love with her after all.
He took the momentary lapse in company to turn to the servant boy and envelope Zyair in a gentle hug as the two gave warm laughter. They pulled apart, Orson holding the smaller servant at arm’s length, looking him up and down. ”I was so worried about you Zy, but I knew you had to have figured a way out. You’re too smart not to,” Orson praised as the younger boy laughed softly, bashfully rubbing the back of his neck.
”Oh, you know, I made do. I’m so glad you’re here, though. I had no clue!” He exclaimed and Orson nodded ecstatically back. ”I’m here for good, I think. We’ll have plenty of time to catch up later.” He grinned, tugging the smaller boy in for one more gentle hug before releasing him to continue working, turning back to Anaris. He listened with a soft smile before a bubble of laughter burst forth from his chest.
”Unfortunately, it would seem like that. Well, for now at least,” He finished with a wink at the girl, a slight smirk etching onto his features. He lightly bumped her with his shoulder before shifting back to standing respectfully at her side as the guests began to make their way in for food, greeting them with the same grace and dignity as he had before, back to playing the proper prince. Just a few more hours until you can steal away with her…
Talulla Talulla rode quietly on Tudda further into the Moor, silent now. She knew the horse was partially correct; she was, in fact, rather scared. She wasn’t one for strong feelings, and preferred to just live her days out in quiet solitude, and ever since Silas had arrived, she had found herself in a tizzy. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of it all, heart thundering in her chest anytime she thought of him more than in passing. Which, it would seem, was beginning to happen more often than not.
She shifted slightly, wincing as she felt new tenderness in her continuously jostled ankle. She glanced down at it, eyes widening in surprise and slight alarm as she saw the faint swelling, slight bruising beginning to darkening. It was definitely… sore to say the least. She gave a slight shake of her head, jostling her braid and loosing more baby hairs as she went. She slowed Tudda, guiding him into a nearby meadow by the stream. It was idyllic and beautiful and peaceful. Perfect space to clear my head and…give Silas some space.
She slid off, cringing as she landed with a twinge of pain. She cleared her throat, expression smoothing as she fought the pain, ignoring Tudda’s concern as she moved to the edge of the pond. She pulled his blanket off and let him wander free and graze and she settled against a tree by the water’s edge, sliding her satchel off. She smoothed the blanket out in a small, patchy bit of sun, laying down upon it to stare at the world above. It was easier to think out here, where there was no one to interrupt.
Slowly, the princess began to feel exhaustion creeping in from her lack of sleep and all the excitement of the night before. She didn’t fight it, instead just closing her eyes to allow her thoughts to move freely in pictures now as she began to drift off, Tudda flicking his tail not too far off in a soothing pattern.
Dario, however, had been quite busy. He tracked them down into the Moors, catching up and remaining hidden enough to assess that Talulla most certainly needed that ankle looked at. He turned then, snaking his way up to the castle to get Silas, having left the man when he began to roll over and crush him earlier this morning.
Dario trotted up through the halls, listening for the loud chatter of awake guests and residents, searching for Silas throughout. He came upon him just around the corner when Silas literally stumbled into him. Dario gave a loud yowl followed by a sharp hiss, bunching up like an accordion. His fur ruffled up considerably as he swiped at the man, not even coming close to scraping him with narrowed eyes, anger and disdain radiating off him. He relaxed, fur falling flat shortly after, giving himself a shake to dispel the frustration, giving a soft snort and grunt of dissatisfaction.
He then took on an expression of urgency, mewling loudly at the man and trotting down the hall, flicking his tail before pausing and glancing back, calling out to him once more. He waited until he had Silas’ gaze before turning and trotting on down, pausing once more to glance back and make sure the man was following.
Dario led him down to the stables and to the stall across from Tudda’s where the friendliest horse awaited. He sat expectantly, staring up at the horse before jumping up to greet the sweet mare. She knickered in greeting, turning her gaze up to Silas. The honey colored mare snorted, reaching her head over to lip at him in playful greeting, brown eyes warm and friendly beneath her golden locks. The mare was a light honey color, and a sturdy size. The name on her stall read Eztia.
Dario sat neatly a few feet off by the saddles and blankets, staring at Silas expectantly, tail flicking impatiently as he waited for the man to saddle the mare so they could be on their way to the slowly dozing off Talulla and Tudda.
*Eztia meaning honey, invoking gentleness and sweetness.

»Anaris Vass
The princess turned her eyes to the young boy who had joined them now and she smiled happily, she was really glad that the prince knew the young boy. Now each of them had someone familiar who was going to be around for a long time. She couldn't imagine having to leave her home for the grater good of the kingdom, of course as a princess she'd always thought that was exactly what was her fate. But the gods had something else in mind, being stuck with her mother wasn't going to be as bad now that she had Orson so she didn't have a problem with it anymore. He seemed to pay no mind to the brashness that was Anaris. In fact it seemed to amuse him. The snort made that clear.
Standing listening to the two chat briefly warmed her heart, she was glad she had done as much snooping as she did. Though had she knows the young boy knew the prince she would have asked so many questions prior. After she stopped mimicking her mother and then the man laughed her cheeks flushed. She couldn't stop the nervous flustered laugh that slipped past her lips at his comment. Nor was she able to react as much as the people entered. "For now?" She asked quietly, her face stoic and calm but her eyes gave everything away. " How forward of you." The woman said only teasing him, "Pray tell when does, for now, become now my dear prince." The woman said her brow-raising ever so slightly as she gently took his arm to get get more food, before everyone took everything that was there.
As alluring as his little comment was, the food call to her almost as much. Of course, in front of all these people, she'd never get to eat as much as she wanted. As her mother said, that wasn't ladylike. It took everything in her power to not let a smirk that danced in the corners of her lips spread across her face in front of all the guests who had no come in and lined up for food. But as she turned a bit to look up at him she couldn't help but let it go a little before looking at the food to distract her brain from all the other places it was going.
»Silas Payne
Walking down halls that were familiar he searched for the cat, now he didn't know him that well s there wasn't really any thought other than maybe he'd be in a place the the princess had showed him. So again like the night before he went to each place. Searching the castle was a quick task since the small black cat appeared under his feet.He jumped up in the air and stumbled back as she cat wailed and swiped at him. Silas rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled a bit apologetically. "Sorry Dario I didn't see you, I was too busy rushing around. My bad." He said as the cat calmed himself down. The moment was quickly over as he saw the nervousness of the cats body language.
"Say no more, lead the way." With that the prince followed him, they went outside and the bright light of the sun made him bring his hand up to block out the light. Just where had she gone this time? Obviously not to breakfast and definitely not to get her ankle checked he already knew that.Stubborn beautiful woman. In the past two days Silas had done more chasing literally and figuratively than he'd done in his life. The only people he'd chased were siblings who'd taken his things. Never a girl, they chased him but he seemed to find himself drawn to her no matter what. Like some sort of spell, he was under.
That is you liking her idiot. He scolded himself internally shaking his head a bit. She was already rubbing off on him, he was following a cat, and talking to him even though he had no idea what Dario was telling him he knew it was about the princess somehow. This made him wonder, did Talulla understand her cat or was it like how he understood him? Either way, he was finding himself being more openly odd without thinking about if people were watching him talk to this car.
When they got to the stables Silas looked a bit confused, he looked at Dario who led him to a horse. Just how far had she gone? It didn't matter her was going to find her and make sure that ankle was okay. He smiled at the mare who greeted him and he reached over and pet her gently. "You are a friendly one aren't you?" His eyes moved to the cat once more and saw he was waiting for him to get the horse ready. So he did just that, and before he could really say anything else they were off. Silas had no idea where they were going but they were going.
It didn't take too long, but it was long enough, but soon enough they got to where the princess was, with the help or Dario giving directions he assumed. Honestly Silas was just along for the ride and the interesting experience that was letting the two animals have control. Where ever he was headed was in their paws? Hooves? Hands? Didn't matter. He got off the mare and patted her gently, "Thank you for taking me Extia." The prince looked to Dario, "And thank you for coming to find me and take us here." Silas smiled reaching to the cat to pat him, if he let him that was. Then it was off to find the princess, which wasn't too hard, he just had to follow the plants. If someone noticed the princess's little quirk with the plants she was easier to track than a drunk fool in a wide-open field.
Then he came into the meadow, of course, this was where she was. He smiled a bit and shook his head. It didn't take long to find her, the spotted horse hanging out who didn't flee at the sign of a person was kind of a dead give away. So he made his way through the flowers to the sound of running water and very quickly the sight of the sleeping princess. Silas sighed softly as he looked at her. She was beautiful, but his eyes looked at the ankle, which was now swollen and pretty bruised. "Princess." He said quietly from where he was now crouched a bit away from her in case he startled her.

Orson
Orson felt his heart flutter slightly at Anaris’s reaction. He hadn’t meant to fluster her — oh, not even a little?? Okay, so maybe just a smidge. Her laugh, nervous or not, was like bird song to his ears, or like a cool breeze on a summer day. It was all to quickly becoming his favorite sound to entice, for now at least. He was sure there were other sounds… to fill that spot. (No, not like that; he knew a songbird when he saw one, that’s all!)
He blinked in surprise as Anaris gave a gentle nudge back, though hers was verbal alone. Oh, so she’s on the same page? Hmm, interesting indeed. He swallowed hard, heart rate accelerating at her question. He gave a nervous giggle at her query, turning his gaze downwards and trying to stifle the giggle as he graciously extended his arm once more for her, leading her to the table. He held her plate patiently after she picked her items while he picked his own, and then escorted them to the table. He released her only to set the plates down and pull her chair out before seating himself beside her.
The guests ate and peppered them with questions. However, finally, finally the night began to draw to a close. Soon, most of the guests were gone, save the royal family. Orson smiled down at Anaris, giving a gentle wink before turning his gaze back to their parents.
”Well, I’m beat! I think we should head off to bed,” He started, turning to gaze at Anaris meaningfully. He wasn’t even a little bit tired. ”What do we have planned for tomorrow, before we adjourn?” He inquired, turning back to the parents, trying to figure out how much time he would have alone with his lovely princess to get to know her. He swallowed hard, focusing his attention on the table for a moment to quell his racing heart.
Talulla Talulla had finally gotten her thoughts to cease their endless spiral by instead curling up on her side and finally drifting to sleep. The breeze was gentle and soothing, the stream bubbling in harmony beside it. It was enough to finally let the exhausted girl get some much needed sleep. Tudda snorted nearby and then continued to graze not too far off, in case she needed him or awoke in a panic, as she often did. As she slept, small shrubbery and flowers began to bloom around her, filling the air with their gentle fragrance.
Her dream was relatively peaceful, just her and Silas twirling in circles back and forth as she struggled to make sense of his feelings. In some spins, he was animated and focused on her as she knew him to be, and in others he stared through her, like she wasn’t even there. It was unsettling and made her… irritated, though she couldn’t wake. Not yet.
Dario waited patiently— well, as patiently as he could manage— for Silas to saddle up and head out. He lead Eztia down the trail, following the vines and exchanging looks with the mare who gave soft snorts of response. They both decided that Talulla deserved this prince, whether or not he deserved her, and that she desperately needed at least a hug right now. For sure, to get her ankle examined.
Dario disappeared when they arrived, off into the shrubbery to fetch Tudda and let him know that Silas had arrived before slinking to the shadows and up a tree to crouch, watching with wide eyes from the shadows as the scene played out before him.
Talulla looked rather… idyllic for once. She was completely relaxed, curled gracefully on her side with her baby hairs loose and drifting in the breeze around her face. Her chest rose and fell steadily, mouth slightly open beneath rosy cheeks as she rest beneath the tree on the blanket. Dragonflies buzzed over the stream as a small ladybug found comfort on her hand, the wildflowers pulling free around her in vibrant strength.
The moment was shattered, however, when Silas spoke.
Instantly, Talulla’s eyes flew open as she shot up, torso contorting as she did so. She snatched her satchel, hand flying in and returning with a silvery flash of metal as she turned to where the noise came from, a ferocious expression on her face. She looked surprisingly terrifying, dark eyebrows knit over darker eyes, muscles tensed beneath her skin, her hand curled securely over a sizable dagger. She was frozen for only a moment, poised to strike, before her eyes widened in surprise and then confusion.
She pulled her hand down slowly, relaxing as she dropped the dagger before pulling her hands back up to rub her eyes then with a delicate yawn that mimicked her feline friend perfectly. She shook her head slightly, new heat of embarrassment filling the void of sleep in her cheeks as her expression softened to cautiously neutral, eyes studying Silas for a moment.
”What are you doing here?” Her voice was anything but hostile, soft and heavy with sleep still, the sweet girl looking as if she was about to drop straight back down onto the blanket and resume her steady slumber. Her eyes were half-lidded, head tilting slightly as she squinted a bit in the sunlight, finally brining her gaze up to hold his, waiting.

»Anaris Vass
Anaris watched as he got nervous himself and she couldn't help but smile, he was by far the cutest man she'd ever met. She honestly could't wait to spend time completely alone with him and really get to know the prince. Without all the prying eyes and cleared throats of disdain from her mother. She chatted with some of the guests and answered plenty of questions. As well as talking with her father, who seemed to be a bit more light on Anaris, till the queen rest her hand on his and he faked stern. So far she'd gathered Orson played the role of perfect prince well but like her had a mischievous side. She liked that a lot. Finally someone to have fun with and be able to depend on as well.
As the night came to an end her gaze lingered on him for a brief moment before she saw him wink and a faint blush settled over her cheeks and a small smile crossed his lips as she looked down at her plate, trying to be subtle. A hard task when such a handsome man was so close beside her planning to sneak off into the night together. The thought made her shiver a bit. "I agree, I'm sure your trip here was a long one." The princess said softly, catching the quick look he'd given her. She masked her excitement by putting on the princess mask.
"Tomorrow? We have a lunch planned and some wedding plans later in the day." The King spoke first finishing his third plate of food despite the protests of his wife.
"Yes, and You both are expected to be at the wedding preparations." The queen said raising a brow at a Anaris.
"Of course mother, I'd never miss it." The princess said, and her usual sarcastic tone was nowhere to be found which was a pleasant surprise for the queen who eyes softened at the change in her daughter. She was glad the idea of the wedding didn't repulse the princess anymore. It seemed clear by the closeness of the two already that they'd get along just fine. As comforting as that was it was also concerning considering how much of a rebel the princess was.
"Yes. Then you two may be excused to get rest. I expect to see you on time tomorrow." The queen said, Anaris stood and curtsied to her parents. Walking over quickly to kiss her fathers cheek and give her mother a quick hug. Her eyes turned to Orson's mother and she smiled and bent down to give his mother a hug as well. Her eyes turned to Orson waiting patiently, she knew they hadn't decided where to meet up yet but they would be more or less alone on the way to their rooms. Minus her ladies maid who would out of politeness walk behind them far enough to not hear their whispers.
Once the two had left she took his arm once more and bid their parent's goodnight. Her ladies maid fell in step behind them and when finally out of earshot of the king and queens Anaris looked up at him for a moment a small smile forming on her lips. Tonight had been fun, parading around together, the most handsome man in the room holding her arm, it was like a fairy-tale. But, they'd been under the watchful eyes of her mother all night long and Anaris wanted to get to know him without harsh eyes judging them. So as they walked she tried to think of where they could meet. As they arrived at her door the idea came to her.
Turning to Orson she offered him a warm smile before looking to her ladies maid. "Jesia could you prepare my night clothes and leave us for a moment?" The girl nodded and quickly slipped into the Princess's room. Once again her eyes met his, "Meet me in an hour outside the stables." Her voice was lowered as she curtsied in case anyone was lurking near by. "Wear something, comfortable, that you don't mind getting dirty." Mischief spread across the woman's face accompanied by a smile. She left entering her room and pausing holding the door, "Goodnight my prince." The princess said with a small laugh before closing the door.
After she'd dismissed Jesia, Anaris changed into something far less appropriate for a princess. She pulled on a leather chest piece over her head and tightened in to fit. It wrapped around her shoulders and underneath she wore a dark green long sleeve with brown pants to match her chest piece. She peeked out of her room before moving quickly down the halls and out to the stables to meet Orson.
»Silas Payne
She took his breath away, she just looked so peaceful, like a sleeping angel. The way the wind blew her hair around her face he couldn't help but stare at her. That was quickly cut off though when the young woman shot up and before her knew it there was a dagger pointed directly at him. He felt is heart stop for a moment, and his eyes went wide but they were locked on her.
Blinking for a moment a small smirk crept over his face, she'd be extremely ready to end his life had he been there to hurt her and if he was being honest with himself, he wouldn't complain. Silas froze too as anyone would when a dagger was pointed right at them and the look on her face, he liked that side of her. She meant business and like was beyond attractive. Note to self, don't sneak up on this kitten, claws are sharper than they look. His brow raised at her a bit as she came to realize that it was the prince and not some thug come to rob her. The prince chuckled a little as she shifted, "I never thought I'd be so comfortable with a weapon pointed at me. But when it's you I've got no complaints." The man teased his smirk turning into a grin.
It was then that she settled down and returned to the half-awake state he had expected, so ready to attack but so cute all at the same time. He honestly was having a hard time being afraid of her, but the flash of violence in her eyes was more than enough to warn him and entice him all at the same time. His eyes hadn't left her the whole time, she was so captivating it hurt. "Oh, I followed Dario and Eztia here to find you." He spoke softly since she was half awake. "I was concerned, and my mother told me she'd not seen you at breakfast, so I brought you some." He paused to pull some sweet bread out of his pocket and hold it out to her, "And I figured you didn't go get your ankle checked so we can go together." He said not giving her the option to say no to that, it was clear she was hurt and he didn't mess around when it came to injuries. He had several siblings he'd had to carry to the medical staff before and plenty of stubborn brothers who wanted to be strong that he learned and was assuming he was probably going to have to carry her back to the castle.
"So, let's go back, and you can eat on the way. Once we get your ankle check we can come back if you'd like? You did say you looked forward to spending the day with me last night." The prince said once again raising his brow slightly.

Orson
Orson was the perfect prince over dinner, chatting with the guests and chiming in to contribute to Anaris’ conversations as well as support her ideas about the wedding and future plans for the kingdoms. The more he watched her, the quieter the man became, heart thumping a little louder in his chest. She was more and more dazzling as time went on, and he found it harder to form coherent thoughts, mind drifting to watch her eyes sparkle in the light and her cheeks flush. He found his gaze tracing the contours of her gentle face, his own expression soft and tender.
”Hmm? Oh yes, its as rather long. But, definitely worth the journey,” He added the last part as an almost afterthought, eyes locking on hers with that familiar softness that was becoming usual for the young prince. He licked his lips nervously, turning is gaze up to the King out of respect when the man spoke. He gave a small nod, gaze travelling politely to the queen that was completely focused on Anaris instead.
”Oh, on time for certain, if not early,” He grinned warmly with a slight chuckle the end of his statement, winking over at Anaris with a chuckle as he got to his feet. He gave a low bow to her parents and zipped around the table to bid his mother goodnight with a gentle hug and tender kiss before moving to escort the princess. They walked in silence, eyes locked together in quiet understanding. The stillness of the air around them was neither formidable nor daunting, just a comforting quiet as the evening deepened to night.
He drew to a gentle stop at her door, turning toward her expectantly. He listened patiently, quirking one eyebrow up at her mischievous smile, his own expression mirroring hers as he gave a short nod. He bent into a bow, bringing her knuckles to his lips gently once more, eyes never leaving hers before he left her in quiet, disappearing to his room.
He undressed, instead pulling out some light beige pants, loose fitting though they still hugged him just right. He buttoned up in a cream colored top, loose and made of light cotton, rolling the sleeves up to his elbows and tucking it gently into his pants. He slipped on a pair of comfortable penny loafers, unbuttoning the top two buttons. He gave himself a thumbs up in the mirror before turning and heading down into the night.
Outside the stables, he slowed slightly, eyes widening in delight as he saw the princess. She looked ravishing in the moonlight, daring and formidable and very much like the strong princess he had seen sparking forth at the party earlier. His heart fluttered nervously in his chest as he drew to a stop a few feet behind her.
”My Princess,” He greeted with a soft clearing of his throat after, bowing his head towards her before drawing closer. ”May I say, you somehow look more lovely now than you did at the ball, though it’s hard to decide. You honestly just look good no matter what you wear,” He stuttered slightly towards the end, stumbling over his comment with a gentle, nervous laugh, eyes flashing with excitement as butterflies tumbled in his chest, stealing his breath. Get it together!
Talulla Talulla had never been one to be embarrassed or ashamed of her strength, despite the fact that it was very uncommon for a girl to have such strength, much less a princess. However, in this moment, she was thoroughly embarrassed, and frankly a bit confused. Silas wasn’t making any sense, and she still had yet to figure out how he got here. She yawned again with a slight stretch, an eyebrow quirking up at his gentle pass at her regarding her weapon. Is he… flirting with me? She blinked as the confusion settled deeper. Maybe Father is wrong…
But then, Silas kept going.
At his mention of Dario bringing him here, her eyes flickering to their surroundings quickly, confusion melding quickly into irritation. Her eyes locked quickly onto Dario’s, her own narrowing with newfound frustration. Dario merely flicked his tail with a smug expression as Talulla’s sleepiness continued to fade in irritation. Traitor! Dario merely disappeared, staring to make his way back to the castle once more, his work done for the afternoon.
She turned her gaze back to Silas and his outstretched hand at his comment about breakfast, but she made no move to take it. Instead, the grumpy frustration settled into her pretty features in a way that was adorably mad. She was clearly not happy about anything going on at the moment.
”Wait—“ She started, but he continued to barrel over her as she blinked, trying to process everything he was saying as well as her own thoughts flashing in between. He made yet another comment in passing, his eyebrow quirking up with that smug smirk and for the first time that day Talulla felt a spark of a butterfly in her stomach. It was quickly quelled, however, in the jaws of the growing frustration in her set.
”Hold on a minute!” She finally snapped, eyes narrowed with that fierce expression beginning to bleed into her features once more. ”You don’t get to tell me what to do like that, first of all. I’m fine. I didn’t eat breakfast because I’m not hungry, and my ankle’s fine,” She lied, dropping her gaze as she shifted, gingerly tucking it beneath her and out of his side. She grit her teeth slightly, but that was the only sign she let out that it was painful for her.
”I just bruise easy, that’s all. Furthermore, I said that yesterday but…some things have come up and I’m… busy today,” She lied, anger fading slightly as the confusion fought for control once more, gaze flickering quickly to the ground. She didn’t like to lie (and she wasn't very good at it in the first place), but she wanted to think everything through and she couldn't do that with him bothering her, no matter how cute he was while he did it. Wait, what?! She then shifted, getting to her feet abruptly, turning her back to him so he wouldn’t see her face pale as she forced herself to pretend like her ankle wasn’t hurting her at all while she pressed her full weight onto it.
She gathered her things quickly, swinging her satchel over before tugging her braid free from the strap, tossing her head slightly. She bent down, tucking the dagger away before pulling up the blanket and giving it a quick shake. Tudda had trotted over upon her standing and was waiting as she threw the blanket over his back once more. By her feet, small vines had begun to curl to push him away, irritation manifesting in the lovely landscape around her, marring her afternoon.
She grit her teeth, taking a sharp breath and holding it as she threw her leg over Tudda and pulled herself up, releasing it after she had settled. Her ankle was throbbing, but she kept her face neutral with all her strength to avoid giving Silas the satisfaction. She took another deep breath before glancing back to him, irritation quelled a bit once more.
”If you want to follow me back so you don’t get lost, feel free, but when we get back I have other things to do. Sorry,” She finished. Then, she gave a gentle tug and she and Tudda were already off, her not even looking back as she fought to process everything she was feeling in this moment. Eztia had trotted over to Silas quickly, waiting on him impatiently to keep up with the two. Talulla bent low over Tudda after a moment, whispering something inaudible. Tudda glanced back at her with a snort of a agreement, the two watching to see if Silas would follow.

»Anaris Vass
The night air was warm, typical of the climate in her home but there was a nice breeze that made it comfortable. She hadn't been waiting very long but she had gotten lost in a day dream so the prince's voice cause her to whip her head around. Her eyes landed on him and her body visibly relaxed. Her heart stopped when she saw him, the simple lines of his clothing looked breathtaking on him. His rolled up sleeves reveled the strength he'd been hiding under all of the fancy clothing earlier. Thankfully he was far enough away that he wouldn't hear her swallow the air caught in her throat as she tried to calm her now racing heart. Gods he was handsome.
The corners of her lips formed a small smile as he complimented how she looked in her training gear. A faint blush painting itself across her cheeks. Hearing him stumble over his words as he spoke was so cute she couldn't hold back the smile that had begun to form on her face. Anaris laughed a little, "I could say the same for you my prince. I can't imagine how you made something so simple look so, perfect." She said the last word not more than a breath. Blinking for a moment her face flushed and she cleared her throat turning away. Taking one deep breath she tried to calm herself once more.
Anaris moved to the stable behind a bale of hay and pulled something out quickly. She tossed a training sword to the prince, she figured he'd have no problem catching it. "I figured something like this is more your speed. It is without a doubt more my speed." She smirked slightly, mischief sparkling in her eyes as the wind gently blew her hair. "I'd like to see the skill that earned those medals you were wearing earlier."
»Silas Payne
Honestly as much as he kept talking he knew it wasn't going to be easy to get her to comply. But, he kind of liked the rage she was showing. She needed to let it out. He knew she wasn't just mad about him telling her to go but the night before with her father was hard and he was sure it was still bothering her. It bothered him still so he couldn't even imagine how much it had hurt her. Though her getting snappy with him was a bit of a surprise. He'd not expected such fire from her, but boy was it welcome. His face calmed and he just listened to her, he didn't say anything to fight with her.
Silas stood there, pulling the bread back since she wasn't hungry which he didn't believe, he'd seen how she'd eaten the other day and knew better. He also knew that he was going to get her to the doctors one way or another. There was no way he was going to let her hurt herself more because of stubbornness. He'd never be able to live with himself if it got worse. He watched her closely, she was pretty good at hiding it with her body language but Silas saw through it. Again though he said nothing in protest. Nothing more than a raised brow. Then she said she was busy, because napping in a meadow with a dagger was busy. The prince almost laughed, but he withheld and just smirked a little.
"All the more reason to get back then huh?" Silas said as he watched hr gather her things. He didn't move to help, she was needing independence, like a child demanding to do things on their own even when they couldn't. Even when she was angry at him he was drawn in and he wanted nothing more then to pull her off the horse and feel her melt against him as he kissed her. Well, he would hope that would be the result, maybe he'd get a dagger in his leg or something. Either way seemed fine to him.
Follow her? That would probably be the best idea, considering Dario was no where to be seen now. Where had that cat gone to now. Before he could answer or respond she was gone. He looked at Eztia who was already ready for him and he pat her quickly but gently and hoped on with ease. Long legs and a perfectly sound ankle helped with that. And he urged her forward, but it seemed like Talulla wasn't slowing up any. He trusted Eztia to lead the way at least as long as they made it close enough because he had no idea where he was or where he was going. The princess's sense of direction was astonishing really even knowing the area he got lost without some kind of path. Impressive to say the least.

Orson
Orson felt his heart accelerate as she turned to face him, eyes focusing on hers with a newer intensity. Out here, there was no need for stealing glances or hidden brushes of contact. Out here, they could really look each other in the eyes and get to know each other on a more personal level.
And my oh my was this prince excited to get to know her.
At her flush, his own chest puffed slightly as he straightened a bit, heart pounding as he fought back the nerves, heat rising from his chest to his face. As her blush deepened, he found himself a mirror image of red, eyes trained on hers carefully. He lowered his gaze only for a moment at her compliment, finding himself momentarily stunned by her forward statement, though he brought his gaze up towards hers quickly with a shy smile.
”Now, you’re just flattering me. My ego is already far too large, highness, don’t go inflating it so quick,” He said with a hint of laughter rumbling in his chest as he gracefully and humbly deflected her compliment. He was nowhere near perfect, and he didn’t want her to be too disappointed when she figured that out.
He watched her move, head tilted in curiosity as he followed her excited self to the bales. He caught the training sword with ease, tossing the weapon from palm to palm for a moment, turning it in his large hands to get a feel for the weapon glinting in the silvery moonlight. He gave a smirk himself as he stepped back, giving it a few test swings, eyes flickering to hers.
”Oh, it’s definitely more my speed, though it’s been many a moon since I used a training sword, m’lady,” He grinned, eyes glittering in excitement as he situated it securely in his left hand. He rolled his shoulders with a rather abrupt snort at her next comment, his dark eyes sparking with mischief.
”I didn’t earn those medals overnight with a training sword, princess, so don’t get your hopes too high,” He warned as he shifted his weight to a wider stance. He centered himself, eyes on her as he waited, poised to strike, taunting her to make the first move. The air seemed to grow still around them, everything quiet in the silver of the moon’s eye, and he felt a slight electricity ripple through him. The tension was palpable as he stared her down, muscles tensing in preparation though his gaze became cool and focused, jaw tight and lips pressed in a small smile.
Now this was the infamous Orson, brave soldier and defender of his people, poised to fight with ease, looking strong and majestic despite his lack of armor or decorated medals.
Talulla Talulla glanced back to see Eztia and Silas gaining. She pulled Tudda to a slower gait, waiting for them to catch up a bit. She glanced back to ascertain that he was close enough to follow. She paused, holding his gaze for a moment, her own intense and unreadable and expression blank. Her intense gaze was back, studying him like she was searching for something, though she wasn’t sure what. She finally blinked, breaking the staring contest. She gave a slight smirk, turning back around as she bent forward, winding her fingers further into Tudda’s mane.
”Go,” She whispered with a squeeze. Tudda snorted with a knicker of warning back to Eztia before he took off, shooting through the woods like a bullet and quickly leaving them behind. Eztia whinnied to Silas to try to warn him as she took off too, slower at first so he could adjust before advancing quickly. She tried her hardest to close the ground, but Tudda and Talulla rode fiercely through the unmarked woods, taunting them. Just out of reach. She felt better, here, mind clearing as they rode.
After all, she couldn’t see Silas looking at her from up here.
If Silas came looking for you, then obviously he cares. But, he also tries to order you around just like everyone else. But… his intentions are good. She sighed slightly, slowing the trot as they pulled free an onto the castle grounds. ”What do you think, Tudda?” She mused softly. Tudda was, surprisingly, silent. She sighed, frustration sparking again as they came to a halt. She shifted, sliding off. She landed roughly, ankle crumpling as she did and she grunted, latching on to Tudda for support. She pulled herself up, letting him help her into the barn, grimacing as she felt a twinge of pain through her leg.
”I don’t wanna hear it,” She snapped to an all too smug kitten with his tail neatly curled over his paws sitting on the edge of Tudda’s stall door. Tudda plodded inside and stood very still, supporting Talulla as best he could while she began to comb out his mane, trying her best to swallow her anger and pain all at once.
And to think, all she wanted was a nap.
