redtail's debt could have been a really cool insight into a character that had previously only heard about from other cats. i would rewrite it to make him this cool, charismatic, popular leader-type because then it would make his death in ITW a lot more tragic.
also rewrite every heinous canon contradiction

I would rewrite Omen of the Stars to focus more on the characters communicating with each other, fleshing them out more to have better character arcs, and the stakes becoming increasingly higher as the story progresses. These were some of the issues I and many other readers had pointed out reflecting back on this arc as a whole. Things like Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf getting a moment to reconcile with Squirrelflight and Leafpool about the previous arc’s fallout, Dovewing not falling into a romantic triangle and using her powers more, the Dark Forest cats becoming an actual threat to the Clans, and how the prophecies are handled could have made this arc so much better than what we were given. I would also change the fourth cat to be either Breezepelt or Ivypool. Breezepelt because it would be an interesting face heel turn moment for him to realize what he has done was wrong and doomed the Clans without realizing the massive consequences, and tries to atone for his crimes. Ivypool because she should have been there from the start passing vital information to the Three about what the Dark Forest is doing, why they are doing it, and how is that plan going to come to fruition.
The final battle will have a higher death count to get rid of all the first series cast, or leave one or two alive. By this point, they are all older characters that don’t really serve the story anymore. Why have them there if they are going to be just background characters with barely any personality left in them? Some of the NP cast can go as well, leaving the majority to be from POT and OotS.

If I were writing Redtail's Debt I simply wouldn't forget a major plot point for the first arc. RIP to Clarissa Hutton but I'm different.
Seriously though I would've focused more on his life as a warrior and why Bluestar chose him to be her deputy.
