Primroseclaw- inky Nothing too crazy... that probably means the other Clans are hiding something. Hens trusted foxes more than Primroseclaw trusted the other Clans. Not only could they strike at any time, but they were all probably much more flawed than they seemed. Which was why RiverClan was the best Clan- it was honest about itself. At least, when it didn't have a pacifist in charge. "Sure- I don't like staying in one place, after all," gruffly snickered the black and white tom. Stretching his long spine, he hefted himself up and headed north against the river's current. He walked through the territory silently but purposefully, stopping at the old wooden bridge. Lichen had grown on it and it had no longer looked as pretty as it had the day RiverClan first knew of it, but this did not matter to Primroseclaw, who stood at it to watch the rivers below, his yellow eyes reflecting the ripples of the water as he looked for the telltale scales below. The current was weaker than it usually was, however- where the current in fall and spring was gushing and urgent, the drought had thinned it into a mere dribble. Reeds and cattails, already beginning to turn a dry yellow from the sun's constant heat, lazily dappled the riverbanks, and the last tadpoles of the year darted through the water as it reflected the sky's promising blue that hinted of worlds beyond. But Primroseclaw wasn't entirely focused on any of that, or the hunt he had set out to do. He was instead looking up every five seconds or so to the WindClan border in the distance- not because he saw anything, no, but just in case he did. His eyes flickered back to the water. "Kids these days do fishing all wrong," he said with a sigh. "None of them do it the proper way anymore. Shame, really."
Webwhisker- Blaze ♡ "I don't like being persistent, but I'll try that!" nodded the rosetted gray tom with a smile. Webwhisker looked in the direction that Reedwhistle had suggested when he mentioned the barn, although the trees of RiverClan obscured WindClan's plains. "I don't often go there much," he said, with an element of curiosity rather than admitting to weakness. If Webwhisker could, he'd love to do nothing but explore- provided he could always get back home, of course. He was a feline Dorothy, who seemed to think that Oz was perpetually just around the corner. "I don't know how ThunderClan and SkyClan are able to keep up with the land-prey," he pondered. "Always fast. I heard ThunderClan caught a deer once seasons ago, but I have no idea how they did it..." Whether or not it had been an old mollies' tale did not matter to Webwhisker; he did not grasp the concept of urban legend and fable. If he had been told it, it must be true. Why else would anyone say anything otherwise? "We should be careful, though. Some poor WindClan guy got crushed to death yesterday, we wouldn't want that to happen again..." (At least WindClan had removed Nettlefrost's body. That was a good thing. Webwhisker was a rather squeamish warrior- it had been a relief that he had not been in any major battles yet.)

Cloudstar » After her run in with Squirrelstar and her patrol, Cloudstar had stayed in the confines of the catmint patch for a while longer. She had half hoped that Squirrelstar would come back and hang around for a while, but after so long it seemed as if the SkyClan leader had more pressing matters to attend to than entertaining the RiverClan leader. Cloudstar was a bit disappointed in that, but she recognized that, as a leader, sometimes more important things came up, and it had seemed as if Squirrelstar were on a mission that had no time for idle chit chat to be thrown into the script.
By the time sunhigh had approached, the lilac molly had decided to make her way back to camp. It was starting to get rather hot out, and while usually this would be the perfect time for a RiverClanner to stretch out and take a midday nap, Cloudstar knew she could also take this opportunity as a chance to work on Mistypaw’s swimming. What had happened not too long ago was still fresh in the leader’s mind, and she was worried that if she delayed teaching her apprentice how to swim then things would take a turn for the worst. Cloudstar didn’t want to lose another apprentice. She didn’t want to lose Mistypaw.
Not wanting to dwell on that, the leader forced herself to focus on actually finding the apprentice. Stepping back into camp, Cloudstar instantly searched for any signs of the silver tabby. She didn’t spot her apprentice, but she did catch a glimpse of Frecklebee talking with Hailwhisker. A smile pulled at her lips at the sight of her mate, but she resisted the temptation to walk over. It seemed as if Frecklebee was in a rather important conversation with the tomcat, and Cloudstar didn’t want to interrupt that. Besides, she had an apprentice to find.
Turning away from the sight of her mate and Hailwhisker, Cloudstar made her way to the apprentices' den, peering her head inside as she called out, ”Mistypaw?”

The small kit scampered to the same place that Goatfrost had been sitting before when he had been counting. Then, because he could, he closed his eyes and angled his head to "look" just a bit upward. "One, two, three!" he started counting. He had no idea where Goatfrost was going to go, but he was completely confident that he would be able to find the warrior. After all, he was already going through all the possible hiding places that the tom could go to and it seemed pretty clear that Goatfrost couldn't fit or hide behind any of them. So it would have to be something bigger! One of the dens, of course. Mallowkit continued counting, waiting to be sure he gave plenty of time to Goatfrost.

Goatfrost » Alright, now it was time to hide. Goatfrost still wasn't exactly sure where he was going to hide, but he was sure he would find somewhere. The camp was rather open to let in sun for midday naps, but there were a few places were there was more foliage, more cover for a cat to duck into.
And that's when it hit him.
The reed patches!
Quickly Goatfrost headed toward a thick cluster of reeds off to the side of camp. His silver and white pelt did clash with the brown and green - mostly brown from the heat - but hopefully since it was so thick with reeds he'd be able to at least make it somewhat challenging for Mallowkit to find him.
Goatfrost wasted no time in pushing through the reeds. He situated himself right in the middle of the cluster, shifting in on himself to make himself appear smaller than he actually was. After a few moments he fell as still as if he were watching prey from a distance to not scare it off before he could catch it. The reeds were thick enough that he could only barely see bits and pieces of what was going on in the camp, and he could only hoped the coverage worked the opposite way for him.

Snakestorm grinned, for what reason was not obvious but one thing was clear; she was content. Rather than dragging the poor tom for his reasonable thirst she heads downstream to RiverClan's plentiful hunting grounds. Out of all the clans that should have been worried about Greenleaf's drought it wasn't the case. Sparsely set apart from each other the fish swam in the mildly warm stream. The calico she-cat flickered an ear at the noise produced by the stream to which she put her focus on. Dusttail's needs would be attended to shortly once their job here was done. Afterall, even he said it himself, the clan needs fish so they'll be just that.
She didn't hesitate, merely staring at the river before lunging into the ever shifting current. Despite what one made it out to be one the surface, she was capable of snapping a fish straight out of the water - somehow this was a slightly more challenging piece of prey to catch. Her upper half was soaking wet, the struggle of pulling this pesky fish resulted in her giving a muffled cry.

Dusttail (Snakestorm) Downstream He looked to see where the pesky fish fled to in the water after escaping Snakestorm’s grasp. The tom saw a ripple near the surface of the water and wasted no time in swiping his paw at it. A salmon was thrown up into the air above him. Dusttail saw the opportunity to leap up and catch it in his jaws before it had the chance to flop back into the water again. He put the fish out of its misery (he felt bad for seeing the prey gasp and writhe in pain as it flopped about on the ground), and waited for the next one.

Mallowkit finished counting and bounced to his feet at once. This was it! This was where he got to show Goatfrost what he could do. He'd get a chance to show a warrior just how good he was at tracking! Well ... he would as soon as he actually got to track Goatfrost. That would be the tricky bit. Now, where would a warrior hide? He trotted back toward the dens, sticking his nose to each one that was the closest. He didn't call out - he wanted to be sneaky - and the dens seemed the most likely place to hide a big cat, right? 'Course, when Mallowkit couldn't find anything, that didn't leave many options. He glanced around. Huh. Where could Goatfrost be? He let his fur bristle a bit, to try and make himself bigger. Maybe that would give him ideas. Big places to hide. He hadn't left camp, had he? Mallowkit slowly edged in that direction, carefully looking left and right. No other ideas. That must be it. He trotted toward the camp exit, tail high. If Goatfrost was out there, then clearly he could go out there too!

Goatfrost » Had Goatfrost thought anything about Mallowkit leaving camp to look outside for him, he would have made sure to find a hiding spot that allowed him to watch what was happening in the camp a lot better than where he was. To him it was a given rule that if cats were to play hide and seek inside camp that the outside was off limits. They were playing inside the camp, not outside the camp.
Though he had no idea that Mallowkit was starting to venture outside of camp. Instead Goatfrost stayed where he was, listening for any sounds of the kit nearing. While he hoped he had found a spot to keep Mallowkit guessing for a little while, he wanted it to be easy enough for the young tom to eventually find him. He was going to stay hidden within the reeds a while longer, but if he hadn't been found in a certain span of time then he was going to reveal himself and his hiding spot.

Reedwhistle With Webwhisker riverclan territory "I believe in you," the tabby tom reassured with a small smile. Reedwhistle led the younger tom out of camp, the tension that he didn't know he had was leaving his shoulders. It was calming to get be out within the territory and Webwhisker was good company. Between the two of them, they shouldn't run into any trouble.
His shoulders rippled in a shrug. This part of their territory was always... interesting. The senior warrior didn't mind the noises of the twolegs and often found them interesting to watch when they came into their territory. This area up here tended to house alot of them during the green leaf. It was hot so the two legs were probably out with their bright furs and pale skin.
"Just keep on the lookout," Reedwhistle reminded him, gently. Not wanting to apply that Webwhisker didn't know to be careful around twolegs area but just a gentle reminder to be on guard. "If a little one runs towards you, don't panic," he meowed with a soft chuckle and flash of amusement.
One time, Goatfrost and him were out sneaking around at night, just observing when a child lumbered towards him. The brown tabby was pretty sure he almost shrieked in alarm. He was a squirrely thing when he was a younglin'.
One of his ears twitched. He nodded, "It was a shame to hear about... Nettlefo-frost," he meowed with a sympathetic tone. Same for a young cat to die like that, not even in battle.

apparently according to the map, riverclan doesn't actually live near the farm xD (the farm only borders windclan to the north? so up near the moonstones)
i got that mixed up with lake territories. whoops. lets saying they are heading towards the camping area? i think that is what is.

Snakestorm | Downstream | Thunderheart57 | graphics made by Akumiralko
The salmon that had escaped Snakestorm had fled but not before getting caught once again by her clanmate. She slid back from the stream, her coat beginning to dry thanks to the light. "A pretty good catch." She huffed, fishing had proved itself to be more troublesome today. The salmon Dusttail had caught caught her eye as the size of it was quite large. In fact, it was impressive they would ever find one that large in these heated times. "We could feed a few cats with that." Which was all she said before plunging back into the water. It didn't take long for her to prab a fish in a flash pulling it to the surface giving it a swift bite. Soon the fish she'd caught went limp, with all said and done she gave a nod to her partner signaling their time fishing was well spent. (When do you want to end the rp?) (We can walk our characters back.) Dusttail (Snakestorm) Downstream He had a hard tine picking up his large catch in his mouth. Dusttail just dragged the fish by it’s massive tail all the way back to camp. Putting his catch onto the fresh kill pile, he turned to his Clanmate with relief in his eyes. “That was a good afternoon out hunting; you even picked up a nice catch for the Clan,” he said. He shook himself of the excess water clinging onto his fur.

There didn't seem to be anything stopping Mallowkit yet, so he kept walking. There was a couple places he looked, like trying to peak around the sides of dens, but still no Goatfrost. He had to be hiding outside of camp! That was the only option! So the small hit picked up the pace a little, slinking forward so he could surprise Goatfrost as soon as he could catch a glimpse of him. The little kit was completely unaware of the fact that the warrior was behind the reeds and honestly hadn't even thought of it. They were just a normal feature of the clan that it hadn't been something he'd figured Goatfrost would use and so he hadn't thought of it either.

✸✸❣✸✸
Featherblossom paced near the camp entrance, her head down slightly, her gaze clouded with deep thought. The young molly was about to head out of camp, hoping that getting away, would help her feel better. The silver warrior, had been very restless throughout the night, tossing and turning as she slept. She'd finally pushed her way out of the warriors den, well before dawn. The warrior felt as if she was disturbing her clanmates, and decided the sit in the camp clearing, instead.
The past few nights, Featherblossom had been haunted by the very same dream. And no matter how much she woke up, the same dream would plaster her mind, the second she'd drift off asleep. She couldn't understand exactly what the dream meant, or why she kept having it. All the Molly could remember, is a very clear picture, of a pretty long-furred silver molly, who looked almost identical to herself. It almost scared the young cat a little bit.
The thing that bothered Featherblossom the most, was that she knew very well, that this strange molly from her dreams, could be of some relation to herself. The silver warrior was not one born of clan blood. She had learned that at a very young age. She'd been adopted into the clan, after she had been found near the border, a little bundle of silvery fur, only days old, just abandoned. Featherblossom knew she was very lucky to even be alive, let alone to be apart of Riverclan. The clan could have chosen to turn away, but instead, had chosen to take the little Featherblossom in, and give her the life of a warrior.
Giving a shake of her head, the molly gave a long sigh, clearing her mind a slight bit. She looked up, her deep blue eyes starting to clear, as she searched to see if anyone had been watching her pace around. She was sure that they'd think she was a mouse-brain, about to walk a hole, right into the ground. Giving a soft snort, as she pictured herself doing just that.

Stormchime With Goatfrost & Mallowkit Riverclan Camp A yawn escaped from the young molly as her eyes fluttered in the bright sunlight. She titled her head down, feeling somewhat annoyed by the fact that this drought was still a thing along with the heat. Stormchime couldn't help but look forward to leafbare even though their fish supply lacks. It was lacking now.
Nevertheless Riverclan would survive. Unless Cloudstar did something stupid. A grimace crossed the dappled feline's face.
Stormchime pushed herself to her paws. She needed to stay busy. The clan needed her. She wouldn't dilly-dally in camp all day being useless. She lashed her tail once before stalking out through the weeds, aimlessly moving.
However before she hit the river to swim across, she caught a scent. A kit scent. That shouldn't be outside of the protection of the reeds. Stormchime's head jerked up and she scented the air, forgetting about journeying out to find Mallowkit.
She was relieved when she saw caught sight of the silver fur. "Mallowkit," she meowed and swiftly moved to block the kit's path. All they needed was for him to fall into the river... even though it was low. It could still be dangerous for a kit. "What are you doing outside of camp? Are you alright?" she asked in rapidfire, going from firm to concerned in two seconds flat.

Sorghumnose » There wasn't much Sorghumnose could do. It was too hot for her to want to move, and that was rather concerning considering she had shorter fur than the average RiverClanner. Most of her Clanmates had thick, long fur whereas she had fur that clung closer to her body, giving her a much slender appearance. At times she felt almost like a WindClan cat stuck between a bunch of RiverClanners, but as far as she knew she was RiverClan through and through. Maybe somewhere along the line she could trace herself back to kittypets, but that wasn't something she was aware of. As far as Sorghumnose knew she was a full-blooded warrior of the river and she liked it that way.
Despite the heat, Sorghumnose knew she needed to get up and do something of value to her Clan. Maybe she could try her luck at fishing, the pile was rather small, but the last few times she had gone out to hunt she had returned with nothing to bring back to camp. That was always a downer, and Sorghumnose hated the tight feeling of disappointment that lingered in her chest after an unsuccessful hunt. She wanted to provide for her Clan, but as of lately it seemed like she was doing the opposite of that.
Something else she didn't want to do was get herself upset. Sorghumnose hated being upset just as much as she hated coming back to camp without any prey to feed her Clan with. Luckily she didn't have to dwell inside the thoughts of her own mind for long before the sight of a particular Clanmate near the camp's exit caught her interest.
With a bounce in her step the pointed molly bounded toward her fellow denmate. "Hi, Featherblossom! You...you okay?" She asked in a paused, hushed voice, realizing rather quickly that something seemed to be troubling the other molly. Sorghumnose assumed that Featherblossom was worried about the heat just like all the other cats were, but even if it was just that Sorghumnose wanted to make sure her Clanmate was okay and knew she could talk to Sorghumnose if she ever needed.

Dewdrop Dewdrop purred with satisfaction watching Creekpaw catch a vole with better agility. He was very proud of the molly before him and knew she would make a fine warrior in the future. Although the current state of the river made him think about a lot of things but for now he wanted to enjoy the moment. "That was excellent," he purred. He was so proud that she not only did better but he helped he for once didn't give stupid advice. It was an accomplishment for sure but the nagging worry about the river still had their icy claws onto him.
Once he heard Creekpaw's option to hunt on the way back made him relax. They could easily find more prey to hunt and get away from the starling scene of the almost dried up river. He gave a curt nod at her suggestion and his blue eyes rested on the molly. "That is a great idea," he said. He was happy that the training can continue and he can help her flourish with the tips of hunting. Creekpaw was already an improvement to him mostly because she didn't run away from the prey. Oh, those days he was made up to be quite the laughing stock. He shivered at the awful memory but shook his head to et rid of them. He was in a better place now.

The small kit jumped a bit, surprised. Then he spun around to face Stormchime, tail drooping a bit with guilt. Whoops. He'd been caught. He hadn't wanted that to happen. But then his tail came up again just as quickly. He didn't need to justify himself to Stormchime. He was here looking for Goatfrost. There was a perfectly reasonable explination. "I think Goatfrost is hiding out here," he said in a hushed voice. "Shhh. I want to find him without help." He glanced around, as if Goatfrost had ears behind every leaf. Which, as far as Mallowkit knew where the warrior was, that might as well be right. "Unless you want to play as well. In which case you have to hide," the small kit added.
