A ray of sunshine crept in through a hole in the thick bracket ceiling of Roaringstars den. It fell upon the young leaders face waker her from a deep but fitful sleep. She woke slowly, with a soft sigh she pulled herself to her paws and shook out her dark gray fur. She gave her lighter gray mane a couple licks and stumbled out into her den. The sun was just cresting over the mountains. The camp was cool and quiet at this hour. The large she-cat sat down and enjoyed the peace.
Beetlefur padded into camp, the rising sun reflecting off of her glossy fur. A limp mole dangled from her muzzle. The warrior had woken up early and decided to hunt. She was glad she was able to catch at least one thing. The glossy she-cat dropped the mole onto the fresh kill pile. Her amber eyes scanning the quiet camp. She was sure there would be more cats up by now. She sighed slowly and began to clean her fur.
Voleheart nervously sat near the warriors den. His tabby fur was bristled slightly. The tom always seemed nervous, like at any moment a hawk would swoop down and take him away. Voleheart gave his pet a couple licks.
Maplestripe slept soundly in her den.

Emberdust yawned, blinking her eyes rapidly. She nosed her way out of the Warrior's den. She squinted for a second, getting used to the morning sun getting into her eyes, then took a glance around camp to see who was awake. She noticed that not many of the cats were awake, and realized it must be early. She shook out her blue-gray fur free of any bugs that might have climbed on her soft fur during her rest. Maybe I should talk to some cat, that might clear my head a little. Her head was blurry. She padded slowly over to Beetlefur, not processing how she could wake up so early, let alone catch something out in the frosty woods. "Wow, I can't believe you can wake up so early, Beetlefur." She stated, sitting down next to her and cleaning her paws. "I wish I could wake up as early as you, then I would twice as more productive."

A pale grey she-cat with white tuxedo markings laid in the nursery with her tail wrapped around three young kits. They were still newborns and had yet to open their eyes. Dawnwatcher became aware of her kits bodies sleeping by her belly and then the sounds of the camp, she cracked open her mismatched eyes(one eye was a bright yellow and the other a dark brown). She blinked a few times to clear her vision and yawning, with a small shake of her head. She turned her attention to her three precious kits, anyone could look at them and not know they were related.
The firstborn, Dovekit was almost pure white, aside from her black eye spots and tail tip. She didn't look her mother nor her father, but Dawnwatcher thought she looked like her mate's late mother. The secondborn, Ravenkit was a solid black tom with very faint classic tabby stripes; He looked very much like his father. Finally the runt of the litter was Birdkit who was grey with tuxedo markings. She reminded dawnwatcher of herself, but also reminded her of a bird she saw once, though she didn't know its name.
Her mate, Nightjumper had died from illness before ever getting to meet his kits. Dawnwatcher was sure he was watching over them now though.
