I wash my hair whenever it gets really greasy/oily, which is every 3-4 days.

I have to every day. if I even try to go past 24 hours without washing, my hair gets dark and clumpy from the oil. people always say to me that "it's bad to wash every day!!!" but um... I don't have the benefit of choosing to do it less often

I can’t brush it unless it’s wet, so showers are just part of my morning routine. I pretty much have Merida’s hair so I don’t really get a choice

Every 4-5 days so I chose once a week. I have wavy, fine hair. Used to wash it much more often due to oil but washing it less often over time actually caused my scalp to produce less oil.

Okay so I use conditioner every day but shampoo is like every other/every few days whenever I feel like it

i'm in the same boat as Tealraven, it's impossible for me to brush through it unless it's been thoroughly soaked through in the shower. as for shampoo and conditioner, every 3 to 4 days.

@ everyone saying their hair is too oily to not wash every day... There are some people out there who legit need to wash every day, but it's a pretty small minority. Most people have scalps that will adapt to a certain wash routine. For example, when I was taking swim classes and swimming every day, my hair would get super oily after 24 hours with no wash. After the class was over and I went back to twice a week washes, my scalp adapted and produced less oil. It took about a month of dealing with oily hair, but it got there.
In general, thinner and straighter hair needs washing more often than thicker and curlier hair.
As for my personal schedule, if I'm at home (like now), I wash once a week. If I'm at college, I wash once every two weeks. This is because I have Rapunzel hair and the dorm showers aren't capable of washing it, and I can't go home more often than once every two weeks.

every day. never understood people talking about how bad it is because my hair's never been anything but healthy :/ same for me. I've been told by hairdressers and stylists my hair is some of the healthiest of their regulars. just because it may not work for some people to wash theirs often does not mean it's unhealthy for others.

Really depends on how greasy it gets, cause for some reason my head never produces the same amount of oil. Also depends on whether I braid-curl it after a wash or not. On average I wash about once every three days.

washing doesnt necessarily make your hair unhealthy, its just even healthier to do it infrequently. if you have really non-porous hair with tight cuticles, washing your hair frequently wont affect it as much as for average hair. but generally its still healthiER.

I've tried to wash it less but my scalp didn't seem to get the memo to produce less oil so I just look like a greased rat if i dont.
Especially now that it's summer. In the winter i can occasionally get away with washing every other day. But right now theres been a couple days where ive taken two showers in a day, one in the morning and one before bed because my skin and hair oil is THAT bad.

Too much tbh. Ever have severe dermatitis? Can't go a week without my scalp itching up a storm and getting so dry and flaky and it's so uncomfortable. I hate getting my hair washed because I still do the "Bend over the kitchen sink while your mother washes it" thing and it hurts my back so much. IK you can do it in the shower but I can't tell when I'm thorough because it's not like I can see my hair in the shower.

Before the whole quarantine thing hit I used to wash it every 2-3 days or so since my scalp gets unbearably itchy if left alone for too long - nowadays I just wash it whenever I feel I need to wash it which is every week or so (sometimes twice during a week if it's really bad)

I get why others wash infrequently, but there's absolutely no benefit for me to wash infrequently and may actually damage it for me (when I was younger I actually would go longer between hair washes and it just made my hair really stringy and gave me acne that I didn't have when I washed it more).

It used to be every day. I’ve been gradually extending it, so now it’s like 2x a week. I’m hoping to eventually get down to once a week. But if I work and I’m super sweaty and gross I will shampoo. I shower every day though. Just don’t wash my hair every day unless necessary.

I wash my hair every second day. Every day is too much but every second day is fine, if I can. My hair has issues where buildup happens on the scalp tho
