[ hello everyone!! Amber Starchaser no pressure on you guys, but just wondering how your characters and starters are coming along ? would you guys be mad if I went ahead and started a response to push the plot forward? I don't want you guys to get too left behind, but I also don't want to have too much pressure on you guys to finish quickly or anything <3
𝕾𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊 oooo I LOVE a good redecorating series lmao !!! v jealous haha : ) do you have color schemes picked out ?? or is it just furniture updates
ℊℓоω ooo I love the sound of that! feel free to add any side characters y'all would like! Janine is obviously a staple for Helene haha and I don't mind side characters; I just wanted to make sure the main spots were chosen!
Also for the ball, do we want like a group to crash it or something dramatic to bring all the crew together?? like maybe they know Helene is coming of age (because all the kingdoms know it bc she gonna be married before too long even though she DOES NOT want that LOL) and there's like an evil side group that is tired of the unevenness between the classes and the kingdoms and are angry about the dragons ??? like maybe a small group from Tanit that's like a band of witches and magical beings that are out to avenge the dragons and then that can be a group that chases them on their quest to find the last dragon ? just a thought lol ]

(No, feel free to move along. Don't think it's fair the rest of you have to wait because I haven't gotten my character thingy done yet. I'm hoping tonight I'll finally get it up. It's part not knowing what to do with him and part being busy for why I haven't gotten it done yet.
Speaking of, would Magus' family know what happened to their witch ancestor who was imprisoned or would they be oblivious?
As for the ball, a group crashing the party and all the characters working together or something to fight them off could be really cool. I like the idea.)

[ Starchaser: i am so sorry to hear that you have been troubled, but glad to know things have worked out!! i will absolutely add the form later and i will prob try to get akother post today or tomorrow for everyone else!! as for the ball, i have left that up to you all to decide who you want to bring the main landscaping i have done is in the kingdoms section ;; pretty much everything else is open for interpretation ! the biggest imagery i have is that as you go inwards (tanit to ladon), it goes from rural to urban. that’s really the only major landmarks : )) i think powers is fairly common simply because this is a fantasy rp and i like the idea of a world full of magic and such : )) fee free to add to the world as you think of things!! we can also leave the bad guys nameless and as the main characters learn about them, develop them more?? (does that make sense)
𝕾𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊 DUDE THAT SOUNDS SO NICE wow love the calming colors omg : ))
Amber you’re really fine!! i’m not upset and understand that things have been WILD as of late haha. it’s up to you; i imagined Magus as knowing and his family having a grudge so they want him to befriend the princess to later kill her as revenge or something dramatic ok the side like that but it’s your call!! : )) and maybe like he actually becomes friends and can’t go through with it?? food for thought!
i can kind of start that ball crashing gang rolling and have you guys bounce off it then? ]

”So Ms. Helene, have you decided on a dress for tonight?” Janine’s voice cut through the silence with the swiftness of a deadly parring knife. Helene had quite nearly fallen back asleep this morning, soothed by Janine’s steady hand. But at Janine’s gentle, inquisitive tone, Helene jolted upright with confusion and alarm. A dress? For tonight? What’s going on tonight?
Helene’s eyes found Janine’s in the mirror, her dark chestnut gaze catching Janine’s clear teal one. Janine was expectant and a bit arrogant, as if she already knew Helene’s answer. And, considering that Janine had known Helene her whole entire life, she probably did. Helene held Janine’s gaze for a long moment, testing her. Trying to see if she could trick Janine into revealing what she, in her absentminded nature, had allowed to completely slip her mind. Janine revealed nothing, and after a tense moment of silence, Helene finally caved with a sigh. Her hand flew up to her birthmark on the back of her neck. The skin was warm and hot, always a few degrees hotter than the rest of her body. Janine gave an exasperated sigh as Helene painted on her most apologetic look.
”Janie, I’m really sorry, but what are you talking about?” Helene’s tone was as apologetic as she could muster, widening her guilty eyes as far as she could and pouting ever so slightly. Janine crossed her arms, staring down the younger girl for a long moment. Her teal gaze admonished the darker one, sharp and unrelenting before she gave an exasperated sigh and with a roll of her eyes and a relieved grin from Helene, resumed brushing out the girl’s long curls.
”Helene, it’s your birthday dearest, and your announcement ball? Now that you’re of age? Ring a bell?” Janine teased the poor girl as Helene leaned back once more, glancing down as her eyes widened in surprise. She’d forgotten her own birthday? But, with the nightmares—if that’s what you could call them— getting worse and more vivid every night, it was hard for Helene to keep track of anything. She gave a sheepish laugh, then cleared her throat, dropping her hand. ”I mean, of course I knew that Janie, I just was checking to see if you remembered,” She teased, eyes mischievous as she flashed her gaze back up to where Janine’s were waiting in the mirror once more.
”Of course you were,” Janie teased, amusement coloring her features as she gracefully rolled her eyes. ”So, did you decide on which dress yet? They’ll be arriving soon, so you’ll need to pick a nice one to impress, although your ballgown tonight will be the real showstopper.” Janine smiled warmly as she set the brush down, smoothing over Helene’s already frizzing tresses. Helene nodded, getting up from her chair and bouncing over to the closet. She disappeared inside for a long moment while Janine waited as patiently as she could manage until Helene sprung forth. She had settled on a simple, pale olive dress that accentuated her small curves and had pockets that she had begged Janine to add for her so when she went out on her morning strolls and found small stones and flowers, she could carry them easier. She slipped on a simple pair of flats, which Janine scowled slightly at but let it go for now.
With Helene, one had to pick and choose their battles, and convincing her to wear heels for the ball tonight had been more of a fight than Janine was ever willing to repeat. Janine put Helene back into the chair and did an intricate, though quick, braid to try to tame the girl’s tresses and preserve them as best she could for the ball tonight. She placed Helene’s smallest of crowns on securely, for the girl’s day to day activities usually caused her to arrive home in disarray, and many a crown had to be retrieved from deep in the woods or some haphazard place on the castle grounds before. With the excitement of the day, Janine just knew Helene’s hair was going to require a thorough scrubbing to detangle before the ball, and that Helene was going to hate the whole ordeal. But, that could wait. Janine squeezed the girl’s shoulders and placed a gentle, motherly kiss on the girl’s warm head. Since Helene’s mother had passed in childbirth many years ago, Helene had only known sweet Janie as a mother figure to her, and the pair had grown very very close.
”Alright, that’s good enough for me. I reckon they’ll be arriving any minute, so hurry downstairs and get some breakfast before you have to entertain,” Janine advised before releasing Helene. The girl hurriedly pecked Janine on the cheek as she tugged her crown free and shoved it into Janine’s hand before darting out into the hallway and down the stairs, ignoring Janine’s cries of protest. She paused in the stairwell to gaze out across the land as in the distance, a pair of horses began to trot up to the gate. Her eyes lit up in excitement, though a small flicker of anxiety flamed in her stomach. She had never been allowed to interact with any visitors before now, and now she was to meet dignitaries from all the kingdoms and find a suitor to take the throne beside her from her father someday. The thought was overwhelming, and she couldn’t say she was fond of the idea of an arranged marriage, but she loved her father and her kingdom, and would do anything for them.
A small purr disturbed her staring, and Helene snapped back to reality as her little gray four footed friend darted past her and down several stairs. He paused, glancing back at her with a playful expression before turning and sprinting off. Helene broke into chase, scrambling past a frazzled servant with a hasty apology as she followed the cat down through the kitchens and out back. They loped the long way around, out of sight, and made their way to the back end of the stables. She scrambled up into the loft and out across the beams, hidden in the shadows to an untrained eye. Many a time, Janine had found her here, nearly having a heart attack as she watched the girl scramble down from her precarious perch. But today, Helene could do as she pleased until tonight, and spying was something she greatly pleased (one of the most un-princess-like traits she possessed).
The pair of horses from the gate approached the stables, and the small stable boy Jeremy approached them with a friendly grin. The man dismounted first, gently patting his horse and speaking gently to it. Helene’s eyes widened at the tall, handsome man. Was this one of her suitors? He was strong and seemed kind with how he treated his horse, and if all her suitors were going to be like this, she had no idea how she was going to handle dancing with and speaking to all of them. Beside him, a tall girl slid off her horse as well. She had dark choppy hair and a lovely, although boyish, figure. She leaned forward slightly to hear better, dark eyes glinting in the dim morning light leaking through the cracks in the roof. ”I don’t think the princess would appreciate if I arrived at the ball in my travel clothes.Though perhaps it would make for a good conversation starter.” Helene exhaled sharply through her nose with a faint snort. She liked this princess, who looked nothing like a princess at all.
She was exactly the kind of princess Helene was looking to befriend. She watched the pair collect themselves and then turn to head up to the palace, following the lanky, young servant girl Elizabeth, who had practically melted from the shadows with her tanned skin and long dark hair. Helene took this as her cue to scramble back to the loft and down the ladder, skipping the last five steps. She landed with a low thud as she darted out the back and raced to catch up.
”Hey! Wait!” She called out as she made her way up the hillside. Elizabeth turned, pausing and halting the other two. Her eyes widened with surprise, followed by swift scorn, though Helene didn’t spare the girl another glance, eyes locked on the pair of strangers standing in the grass. ”For what it’s worth,” She began, catching up to them in a slightly breathless and wild manner, ”I wouldn’t care less if you wore your riding gown tonight. I think the fabric has neat stitches and is securely made,” She finished, panting slightly as she brushed a loose curl back from her face and dusted her skirt off slightly, dispelling some of the dirt and hay already clinging to the light linen fabric. She grinned widely as Elizabeth rolled her eyes in the background but said nothing, patiently stepping aside. Although new, even she could tell that Helene would not be shaken, and it was best to just let the over eager and stubborn girl have her introductions.
”Which kingdom are you from?” She addressed the pair, eyes flashing up to the man's with a bright smile, giving no introduction for herself, cheeks starting to flush slightly with a warm rosy glow already.

Cynder balanced with her hand on her horse’s neck as she methodically stretched out her sore legs. After riding for two days, there was a deep ache in her thighs and lower back. She wished they could have a few hours to relax before the ball, but it was her own fault for arriving the day of the event. Ransom had insisted on spending as little time in the castle as possible. He hated playing the role of responsible prince: rubbing elbows with important people and looking refined. He had a point. They were both better suited for the casual court of Tanit, where the problems were pressing and no one cared what type of gown one wore. Cynder felt a strange longing for her home. It was not often she thought fondly of the Needle Keep or of her family. But there is a certain comfort in the known, and for the first time in several years, she was stepping into uncharted territory.
As her horse was led away, a girl of about Cynder’s age came bounding up. She had long, wild hair, and an inquisitive face. At first glance, Cynder assumed she was a serving girl, perhaps coming to accompany her to her room. But a quick glance downward revealed a dress of expensive fabric, hiked up to the ankles to be more easily carried. She had materialized from the bustle like a shepherdess from the woods, looking perfectly at home if not a bit feral.
“For what it’s worth,” said the girl breathlessly. “I wouldn’t care less if you wore your riding gown tonight. I think the fabric has neat stitches and is securely made.”
Cynder’s eyebrows arched, momentarily confused. Why would a serving girl voice her opinion about her gown? Then the realization hit her. She glanced instinctively in her brother’s direction, then back at the girl, face breaking out into a surprised smile.
“You must be Princess Helene, then!” exclaimed Cynder. A genuine laugh bubbled through her lips as she promptly added, “Excuse my rudeness, for a moment I had no idea who you were!” Cynder leaned in, giving the other girl a companionable squeeze on the forearm as if they were already fast friends. Her bright expression only fell when Ransom cleared his throat loudly at her back. “Oh right. I’m Princess Cynder of House Tanit.” With that, she bent into a hurried curtsy that betrayed her disregard for authority. It was nothing personal, of course. In fact, she looped her arm around Helene’s as she looked back over her shoulder.
“And this is my brother, Ransom. I have a million of them so I don’t blame you if you can’t keep them straight.” Ransom bent his head politely, expression neutral as he trained his icy eyes on the princess. Cynder could see the gears in his head turning. She prided herself in reading her siblings’ thoughts, but in this case her brother was frustratingly guarded. He was trying his best to be good, she realized. The mischievous glint that had made a home in his eye was notably absent. She felt a spark of annoyance at him. Sellout, she thought sharply. She had hoped the two of them could barrel their way through the event with a mutual disregard for customs. Politeness be damned! She had hoped they would have fun.
“Apparently he’s the most marriageable of them all. Hottest bachelor in our kingdom if the whispers of the court are true,” joked Cynder. This over-sharing was met with a restrained side-eye from Ransom, and the familiar glint returned to his icy gaze. He made no clever retort, but she knew one was on the tip of his tongue.
“Pleasure to meet you, Helene,” he greeted formally instead.

Helene
The tension in the air was palpable in the silence that followed her breathless and hasty statement. Helene felt the heat in her cheeks spread gracefully down her neck as the pair stared at her with discomfort and alarm. The man seemed confused and a bit annoyed, standing stiffly beside the other woman whose mischievous eyes sparked warmly beneath the confusion clouding them. Helene bit her lip lightly, smile fading, afraid she had already caused disgrace. In her mind, she could hear Janine scolding her. ”Untie your skirt and straighten your back! Lift your chin, speak clearly, and for the love of god Helene, slow down and lower your voice!!” However long they stood there for, Helene could not tell you. Luckily for her, the tall girl before her gave a warm smile and broke through the ice that matched the man’s eyes.
”You must be Princess Helene, then!” Helene’s face lit up at the girl’s lovely laugh, a brilliant smile once more, genuine and full. Her nose scrunched lightly as she gave a light giggle in response with an over-eager nod, curls bouncing wildly atop her head with the movement. As the girl leaned in and squeezed her arm, Helene felt warmth blossom in her chest with a surprise affection. Not many people dared to touch Helene aside from Janine and her father, and she had very few friends that weren’t animals. It caught her a bit off guard, but it was the most pleasant surprise, and only succeeded in releasing another giggle, much brighter and louder than before alongside a darkened red in the apples of her cheeks. She did very much like this princess, whoever she was. She was instantly reminded of the other man’s presence as he cleared his throat. She quickly regained her composure, straightening slightly as her eyes flitted over to his, appraising him warmly for a moment before being distracted by the girl before her.
Princess Cynder. Helene’s head canted slightly to the left at the curtsy, slightly surprised and confused. They were both princesses, yes? Curtseying seemed silly and formal to her, though she gave a hasty and sloppy one in return to the pair just to be safe, ignoring Elizabeth’s snort of contempt in the background. She was quickly distracted by Cynder’s invasion into her personal space. Not that she minded. Rather, she grinned warmly and reached her other hand up to the lightly pat Cynder’s arm as she squeezed closer to the taller girl, pressing into her side eagerly. God, could she be any more touch-starved??
As Cynder continued, Helene steadied herself, meeting the man’s icy gaze once more. She canted her head once more, expression becoming unreadable as she found herself in a staring contest with the man. Although some might have found it rude or a bit intimidating, it was clear that Helene meant neither. She was simply curious and impulsive, and had very little restraint when it came to beautiful objects. And this man was one of them. She gave a soft, shy smile as she held his gaze, releasing a small breath she hadn’t realized she had captured at Cynder’s interruption of the heavy silence. She blinked, shaking her head lightly as Ransom shifted his gaze to Cynder once more. She used that opportunity to compose herself, trying to ignore the strange fluttering in her stomach and the heat rising in her cheeks once more.
Helene, you have at least another dozen men and women to greet tonight. You’re going to have to find your poker face fast. As he spoke, her eyes rapidly snapped up to his, stretched wider at his statement. She cleared her throat slightly, giving a charming smile that revealed her dimples.
”I would say the pleasure is mine,” She finally managed. Her tone was smooth, more controlled, but her cheeks were burning flames that betrayed her true feelings. Her heart thumped faster as she hesitated slightly, glancing over at Cynder. ”And you’re right about that Cynder. He doesn’t have beautiful eyes,” She teased with a soft giggle, squeezing the girl’s arm lightly as she glanced back at Ransom and staring once more, abruptly fell silent.
Elizabeth cleared her throat, disrupting Helene’s staring once more. Helene’s gaze widened as she gave a sheepish grin over at Elizabeth. ”Uhm, I reckon we ought to show you your rooms now so you can refresh and change before the tour and party, yes?” She gave a slight, affirming nod to herself as the four began to make their way up to the castle. She walked tightly with Cynder, grateful for the girl’s affection as she kept their arms linked, walking a bit faster to keep up with the taller’s girl’s lengthy stride. ”So, did you guys have a pleasant journey? I hope it wasn’t too long or strenuous,” She bumbled over her words after a moment of silence. It would seem that Helene didn’t care too much for the silence, though she wasn't the best conversationalist, and was a bit eager to get to know these strangers much better.
Which was, of course, exactly correct.
Before too long, however, the group arrived at Cynder’s room. Helene reluctantly pulled her arm free, grasping the girl’s hand between her own with a light squeeze. ”I really, really look forward to seeing you later,” She beamed eagerly at Cynder before her gaze flickered quickly to Ransom’s. ”Both of you,” She added, hastily, stuttering lightly over her words as she did. She gave a bright smile before darting off, practically running down the hall. A small, gray cat appeared from the shadows and joined her, and the two rounded the corner and disappeared, leaving nothing behind but the diminishing sound of her feet on the floor and the faint smell of pine.
Helene made her way down to the kitchens to snatch a quick snack, ignoring the crew snapping at her and swatting her hands away as they were busy with the feast preparations and had no time for her questions or interruptions. Nothing was malicious, however, as they were all quite used to (and fond of) Helene’s nosy nature and soon enough, Patty caved and made the girl a small plate of fruits and cheese to tide her over. Helene kissed Patty’s cheek before sprinting away, her gray feline friend in tow (whom she had figured ought to have a name about now considering it had been around the palace for a few weeks now and seemed to be here to stay).
She made her way around the grounds before heading to her favorite tree and scrambling up with her four-footed friend. They shared her small platter, and then laid together. Helene produced a book from the hollow of the tree, and the pair lounged in the branches as the day lengthened in to afternoon. As dusk was threatening to fall, she could hear Janine calling for her and knew it was time to begin her ball preparations. The pair quickly made their way up to the castle and into her royal bath chamber where Janine had already drawn a bath for the dirty princess. Helene stripped down and quickly entered the rose scented water, patiently waiting as Janine scrubbed her clean. She closed her eyes as Janine patiently scrubbed the dirt and twigs free and then gently combed out Helene’s curly tresses. The bathwater had just begun to cool when Helene emerged, splashing water everywhere as she did (earning a swift reprimand from Janine).
While Helene’s hair dried a bit, she was laced up into her exquisite dress. Their head seamstress, Marianne, had labored over the ballgown for weeks, trying her best to please the young princess while also displaying her impressive needlework. Despite the original, long sleeved concept that Marianne had tried to push, Helene begged and pestered until Marianne caved and got rid of the tulle sleeves, leaving Helene’s lovely and surprisingly muscular arms free. For the rest of the dress, Helene gave Marianne free reign and allowed the seamstress to incorporate intricate designs as well as tie in Helene’s love of nature. It was beautiful, and draped gracefully over the girl’s slender frame, making her broad shoulders look more graceful, showing off her lovely collarbones and accentuating the slight curves she did have. It was perfect and light, and out of all the dresses Janine had struggled to get Helene into, this one was the easiest.
Helene’s hair however? God bless Janine. Helene waited as patiently as she could while Janine fought with the girl’s mischievous curls. She managed to pull them free of tangles, braid a small crown around the girl’s head, weave in flowers and small gemstones in the loose tresses (to match the dress), and then topped with Helene’s most classic tiara. It was an ancient Ladon heirloom, with opalescent pearls that looked like the shimmering outside of dragon’s eggs long forgotten. The silver glinted with an ancient hint of magic, and two dragons were engraved into the metal with eyes of gems that seems to spark with life in them. It glittered and twinkled in the girl’s dark tresses and pulled her whole look together. She allowed Janine to convince her to slip into a nice pair of golden heels and then she was ready.
”You look lovely Helene,” Janine finished, standing back and turning the girl to gaze in the mirror. Helene stared with wide eyes and rosy cheeks at the stranger in front of her. Helene looked like the young, eligible, elegant princess she was always meant to be. It was a little unsettling, and she felt a bit nervous about what all the true strangers and foreign dignities downstairs would think of her. The longer she stared however, the more settled she felt. There were the quirky freckles dotting her nose, here were her baby hairs that refused to stay down, there was the slight scar on her lip from when she’d fallen from the loft as a child. And, burning on the back of her neck, was the "unsightly" birthmark. She unconsciously reached a hand up to her neck, feeling the familiar raised skin there.
”I suppose you’re right Janie, though I don’t really look like myself,” Helene finally admitted, getting to her feet. Janine gathered Helene gently into her arms and gave her a light squeeze. ”You’re really going to be the star of the ball. You will dazzle them all with your grace and beauty, and it’s going to go perfectly,” She assured the young, anxious girl. Helene smiled, leaning into Janine’s touch and hugging her back tightly. She lingered for a moment before a soft meow from the doorway caused Helene to reluctantly pull free.
”He’s right, it’s time. I don’t want to be late, lest my father burst a blood vessel,” She giggled, and Janine released her with a light laugh. She brushed a strand of hair from Helene’s soft face and then pushed her toward the door. Helene gave Janine’s forearm a final squeeze and then turned and began to scurry quickly down the stairs, with just a bit more caution than usual due to her heels.
Helene arrived outside the ballroom entrance doors, taking a deep steadying breath. She waited patiently as the escorts came down to announce her entry and guide her into the ballroom. She dismissed her little gray feline friend and waited anxiously. From inside the ballroom, she heard the herald cry out, ”Now announcing her Royal Highness, the lovely bachelorette, Princess Helene of the Kingdom Ladon.” Helene took a deep breath, closing her eyes and gently clasping her hands together at her waist before opening them. She squinted ever so slightly in the light before taking a very shy step forward as her face relaxed, glancing apprehensively around the room as all eyes fell on her.

I hope things are slowing down a bit for you and allow you to relax a little!!
As for your character, I kind of bridged into the ball that night, so you can feel free to kind of start from there and throw her in; perhaps she's one of the first to meet/greet Helene? Or she's off watching Helene interact or she's going to find different member to interact with? Hopefully this helps!
Best of luck with moving! that can be exciting and change can be good!! No worries, again!! <3 ]

[ hey 𝕾𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊 ℊℓоω Starchaser
so to try to get the ball rolling again for this thread, I went ahead and opened up Alma's spot as they've been on hiatus for about a month now. They had a lot of personal stuff going on, so I felt it was safe to assume they wouldn't be back for a minute. I also reached out to Amber regarding their claimed spot; if they don't respond within a few days, I'm going to open their spot up again.
Hopefully this should get things rolling again! I should also be more active as school has been pushed back to September 21 for me so I'll still be at home with online classes !If any of you would like to release your spot as well, or if you would rather I just abandon this thread and start anew, let me know! My feelings will not be hurt in the slightest <3 ]
