'Cause I love spiders and I've been considering changing my profile pic to a spider, but I don't know how many people are properly arachnophobic here and I want to be mildly considerate for once in my life.

i also love spiders ! there's some phidippus audax spiders in and around my home i call them my gardening buddies. i also have like 8 daddy long leg spiders in my bathroom those are my shower buddies, i count them whenever i shower and get upset if some are missing just in case someone in the family killed them ):

Awesome!
No arachnophobes were responding, so I just decided to go for it.
I met an eastern parson spider a little while ago, I named her Bryony. And there's plenty of spiders in the tunnel underneath the road. I'm pretty sure they're mostly Banded Garden Spiders, it's hard to get a close look to properly ID them.

well the thread's only been up for 20 minutes, and school is currently in session, so responses are unlikely from anyone at this time

Oh yeah, I forgot that school's a thing right now, I start late
Same, it's hard to get good photos. I got a couple decent ones of Bryony, and that's about it.

yoooooo fellow spider lover
I've never been scared of them. Like, as long as they aren't in my hair (where they would never come out), I'm happy to have them around. I'm the kid who saves the drowning spider at pool parties.
I think part of why I like them is that they eat cockroach eggs, and those are my only phobia when it comes to animals/insects.

Oh. Maybe I should be kinder to my neighborhood spiders.

I see Bryony every now and then, but not too often. She lives somewhere in the couch primarily.
I love almost all insects+arachnids. Especially crab+jumping spiders and praying mantises and isopods. Even centipedes aren't too bad. Except earwigs. Earwigs can go die in a hole. They're harmless, but annoying. I once had to clean them out of a bird feeder they were infesting, and I took great pleasure in spraying it with a hose over and over until they all drowned.
You should, Pig. Most spiders are pretty harmless, and eat pests(like earwigs) to boot.
