"I'm sure they already do think they can." Echowing muttered. "Lightningstar and Peachdapple came strolling in to talk about their Warrior dying in his sleep... Do you believe them, that the Dark Forest is responsible?" She asked Mudwasp evenly, wanting to gauge his reaction.
Wildstorm blinked with surprise for a moment, before his eyes softened and he gave a relaxed chuckle. "Well, I guess I should have seen that coming. Thank Starclan that it's my apprentice, and not some wily tom with a big attitude or something." He joked, before he looked at Frostlight and mewed. "I know you've got a great head on your shoulders, Frostlight, so if you love him, and he loves you, then that's all there is to it." He nodded. "My little she-kit, all grown up." He teased, eyes shining at his daughter.
Withermist smiled lightly at his mentor, grateful to hear his relaxed and accepting response.
"One last time, and I think you'll have it down perfectly." Starlingdust praised, encouraging her apprentice.
Dreamlily's eyes softened with sympathy. Even if Opalmist had been banished, her mother's love for Shadowclan had been so strong that she had given up the chance at motherhood to stay where cats needed her. Unlike Echowing, Dreamlily did not resent her for it. She just wished she had been able to know her mother and her kind soul more. Dreamlily admitted. "I really hope they're all okay. I wouldn't wish harm on any cat from any Clan. I wish we could do more to help them... but I know Shadowclan wouldn't want that, and we don't have much resources for ourselves."

Skyflight dipped her head to Kestralfrost before she got to her paws and started leading the patrol out of camp. "Thank you for joining us! Whitesun wanted us to check out the Shadowclan border before his hunting patrol got back. With the twolegplace patrols, he doesn't want our other borders being neglected." dewbranch Moonblazer Icefire15 Brightsky followed Skyflight out of camp as they headed to the Shadowclan border.

Mudwasp sighed, unsure about how he really felt about the news that Lightningstar and Peachdapple brought with them. "I don't know. I've only ever heard stories about them, so it's hard to actually believe that those stories I heard as a kit are actually real." He said, glancing back at Echowing. "What about you?" Frostlight purred at her father's words, her eyes shining happily, "Thank you, Wildstorm. I'm glad that you're happy and okay with this." She mewed, smiling at Withermist and pressing against him. "We make each other happy, that's what is important." She added. Rainpaw nodded and prepared herself for another jump, her paws landing without slipping this time. She gave a small smile, feeling some pride in her success and made her last jump before looking back at Starlingdust to see her approval. Kestrelfrost's ear flicked as he glanced back at Dreamlily when she spoke, slowing his pace to walk alongside her, "I'm sure ShadowClan will be alright." He reassured, giving her a friendly smile. Kestrelfrost had noticed how withdrawn Dreamlily had been lately, and even though they weren't all that close before, he didn't like seeing the kind she-cat so down. "They were probably one step ahead and had a plan in place in case something happened."

“It just seems so… odd. All of a sudden, the Dark Forest killing cats in their dreams? Why haven’t they done it again? And why a Thunderclan elder who could barely walk?” Echowing mumbled, inwardly aware that Yarrowcloud was now able to walk and fight again. Many of the cats in the Dark Forest had realized their blunder, as the tom’s spirit was no longer old or invalid, but now at the peak of his strength, and able to fight once more. They hadn’t caught his spirit yet, somehow he was still hiding out.
Robinstar had called Wrenflight a fool, who had no sense of planning or true, genuine will for ambition. She shook the thought away.
“Of course I’d be. You’re my kit, your happiness is all that matters to me.” Wildstorm mewed simply, pressing his muzzle to Frostlight’s ears, before he chuckled. “Goes to show how distracted I am. I didn’t even know you two were talking!”
Starlingdust smiled brightly. “See? I told you you’d get it. That was great, Rainpaw. You’ve worked really hard today, you know? Let’s get your prey and head back to camp.”
Dreamlily looked at Kestrelfrost, her eyes flickering with concern as she mewed. “Oh… well, that’s true. Cedarstar doesn’t seem like the type to not have a plan, but…” She blinked over to the side, mewing softly. “One of their medicine cats is gone now. And I know you all are being cautious not to say it, but you can. She was my mother. I’m not afraid of admitting it, and I won’t be ever again.” Her gaze hardened, but her voice remained soft. “Shadowclan and especially Snowdance will suffer because of her banishment. I just… don’t want any cat to suffer.”

Skyflight looked at Dreamlily with a soft frown, "While I don't necessarily agree with Cedarstar's swift and harsh punishment of Opalmist, the clans have gotten along with one medicine cat before. I'm sure Snowdance will manage, she's very experienced. It's kind of you to care for her clan though Dreamlily."

"Heh... if it weren't for training, it'd be for the dawn patrol." Firefang shrugged lazily. "I don't think we can ever escape waking up early. It is nice having something worth waking up for, though. I always enjoyed seeing Fallstone improve after each day. I'd love to see him take on mentoring someday." he mused. "He'd do a good job. He's always had a good head on his shoulders." Buzzardfall agreed, before a hint of humor crossed her muzzle. "Firescorch might need some time to loosen up in that regard, before he takes on mentoring. I love him to death, but he had a barbed tongue, and apprentices need alot of patience." Firefang twitched his whiskers. "We wouldn't want him to scorch his apprentice, that's for sure." he chuckled, aware of his bad joke. "But also, I think there are some cats that don't care to mentor at all. And that's fine by me." He paused as a blackbird landed on a branch overhead. "Look!"

Viperpaw leaped from rock to rock, soon she spotted Lilith coming back with a mouse, "Thanks," Viperpaw meowed before hoping down from the rocks, she took a few bites then stared at the rest, "It's your catch, are you going to have any?" She stared back at Lilith, wondering if she'd have the rest to herself or like any normal cat would do (atleast, the rouges she had lived with), would take the rest of the prey to fill their own belly. “I’m plenty full, right now. Eat it all, you need it.” Lilith mused, watching Viperpaw for a few moments before she gave a curling grin. “And now, to hide the prey scent on your breath, all you need to do is snag a mouse of your own. They pop out of these crevices. Like snacks.” She crooned, nodding to one. “Know how to catch a mouse, dear?” "Of course, they hear your paw steps before senting you right? So it is a common way to catch them by crouching down, although I can never get it correctly," she hoped down the stones and showed Lilith her hunter's crouch, one of her sides was bearing weight more then the other, due to an old injury that still hurt sometimes, she did it self-consciously and never thought much o it but it often caused her to stomp harder with the other three paws.

Dreamlily reminded with a hint of defensiveness, though it was born out of a fear of her own Clanmates turning on her and sending her off just like they did to her father. She averted her eyes, but bore a rare sort of defiance as she mewed softly. "The Clans don't face these kinds of horrors back to back, the fire, the Dark Forest, often. Everything was fine as it was, if Echowing had just kept her mouth shut." Dreamlily paused, knowing that getting angry wasn't going to help. She shook her head. "It doesn't matter. I just care about no cat having to suffer. No matter the Clan. That's all. Just like my mother did."

She knew that the other she-cat was trying to help, to tell her that she understood her in a way, and yet Dreamlily's sadness couldn't be quelled by it. In a way, it had been much easier on her when the Clan had believed her mother was some nameless rouge. She mewed softly. "Blood might not define a Warrior, but to some... it's all that matters. Different clans, and a medicine cat as well, it's not... it's not even the same as other half-clan instances. I can't imagine what Starclan will think of it." She felt her ears flatten. "Every single eye was on us. On me, at that Gathering, and some of those looks scared me so much." She lowered her gaze.

Firefang dug his claws into the base of the tree and began to climb. The tom scaled the base of the tree easily, a blur of orange as he made his way to the branch the blackbird rested on. Getting his bearings, he lightly stepped onto the branch. It wobbled slightly under his weight and the bird became alert. He flattened his ears and knew he had to make his move. "Now!" he called, keeping his balance as he reached unsheathed claws toward the bird. It fluttered and took off from the branch.

"Who knows." Mudwasp said with a yawn, giving his head a small shake. The long hunting patrol with Echowing had worn him out, and he was starting to feel a bit tired. Despite his tiredness though, he wanted to try and stay awake, at least until the Twolegplace hunting patrol returned. "It's hard to tell exactly what dead cats are thinking I guess." He added.
Frostlight chuckled, looking at her father with amusement, "We've been friends since we were apprentices. I guess things just escalated for us." She said with a shrug.
Rainpaw gave a tired, but happy purr, glad to know that her first solo training session with Starlingdust had gone so well, "Okay!" She mewed, scurrying over to where she had buried the mouse that she had caught earlier.
Kestrelfrost looked between Dreamlily and Skyflight as they spoke, giving a small flick of his ear. "Well, they shouldn't blame you for that." He mewed, giving a small shrug. "You didn't ask for Frostyfoot and Opalmist to break the code like they did, and you can't control the circumstances of your birth either. If others in the Clan, or anyone in the other Clans for that matter, want to hold it against you, then they're dead wrong."

"Right... very hard to tell." Echowing nodded slowly, internally scoffing at how easy it was to tell what the dead cats of the Dark Forest were thinking. After all, she supported them, and they understood her in ways Starclan never could. She shook the thought away, humming. "Learn to be a mind reader of the dead, I suppose."
"The greatest friend I've ever had." Withermist nodded slowly, unblinking eyes brimming with care as he looked at Wildstorm. The older tom gave a deep laugh, before he smiled. "Well then, that's all there is to it. Thanks for telling your old father, by the way. I think I did pretty well with you, so this next litter should go swimmingly." He teased, glancing warmly over at the nursery where Shadowmask was.
Starlingdust watched Rainpaw proudly, waiting for her to collect her mouse so they could return to camp. Inwardly, she wanted to brag about Rainpaw to her sister, and anyone else who would listen.
Dreamlily looked up at Kestrelfrost, his words striking her deeply. She blinked, before her eyes fell to the ground, but her voice grew gentle with gratitude. "Well... thank you. For trying, and caring. And for not seeing me differently because of this. I... I love Skyclan. I always will, it's my home, and I'm a loyal Warrior. I just... miss my father. By now, he would have said some silly joke or asked me how my day was, and now I just sit near his nest and it's so quiet..." She admitted.

I'm not even sure if it has healed fully or if I'm even healing it the right way," She shrugged, and then decided to try the trick her mentor had shown her, soon enough a small mouse skuttled close enogh for her to snatch it, and give it a killing bite. "Wow, that worked," Viperpaw could tell Lilith had a few suprising tricks that were most likely not clan-like, but that was fine with Viperpaw, the more battle moves and hunting tecnices she learned the better, her mind brought back a small memory of Pantherkit, her sister, and her mother teaching them both, or- trying to teach them both how to hunt. Viperpaw quickly shooed the thought away, I can't focus on the past, or weather or not my sister is out there alive and vengful or dead dispite my best efforts.

"It probably wasn't. Loners and rogues don't have medicine cats like these Clans do. Which are very helpful, to make sure that you don't get limps like the one you have." Lilith mewed simply, before she crooned. "Worry not. I can teach you to fight with or without an injury. After all, a loner or rogue must know how to sharpen their claws to survive. Clan techniques just make it stronger." She extended her own long claws, inspecting them, before she smirked. "I told you that this method of hunting is easy."

If that was sloppy, then I'd love to see your perfect catch. You looked fine to me." Buzzardfall grinned at Firefang, humored by his humbleness. She looked down at the bird, before she offered. "Sure, if you like. Unless you'd like me to climb the tree, and you to leap from below." He nodded, "We can go behind there," he beckoned towards a shrub. "theres a hollow opening in their not much cats know about," he added, starting to head to the area. He internally wondered why Basilpaw suddenly seemed so nervous, and panicked. Did Spiritstar threaten him?

"Thanks," Viperpaw mewed, "I'll be glad to learn multiple tricks. Should we head back to camp or train a bit more?" Viperpaw glanced up at the sky, a orangey-red color, signifiying sunset was near. “Mm. That’s for you to decide. I don’t mind either way. It’s a nice evening.” Lilith offered casually, glancing at the orange sky with a small smirk.
