Sounds great! I realized now we never worked on a plot... I'll maybe try to come up with a few ideas ~

Plot Ideas - prey is growing increasingly difficult to find, the normal predators are even becoming fewer along with a rise in demonic encounters. The land is becoming increasingly more cursed and demons are beginning to band together under a high demon, which is a rare occurrence since they aren't exactly pack creatures. This leads to a war between the demon group for the clan's home?
- something with hybrids, similar to how half-clan cats were treated - poorly. (don't know about this one because I think the clan would be glad for the extra strength against their enemies... dunno)
- an outsider necromancer wanders too close to territory and begins using his zombies to attack the clan, spreading the deadly disease throughout the group. Some cats seem weirdly immune, particularly hybrids, and the clan would have to desperately search for an antidote, which they never really worried about before - since necromancers have always been clan cats and if a cat was infected, only one or two have died. Later maybe it's found out that it's a former medicine cat that they all thought had been deceased?

Sorry I got distracted. How does this look?Introduction There was something sharp in one of your paws but you didn't have time for that now. You had to keep going, even as your lungs screamed out for oxygen. Running was your only option. You didn't know what would happen if you stopped but something deep and instinctual within you whispered that death would follow soon after. The undergrowth was denser here, harder to navigate - especially in the dark. Even your superior feline eyesight couldn't seem to adjust to this amount of shadow or maybe you were just running on too much adrenaline. A snap behind you sent a bolt of fear straight to your heart. Willing yourself to move faster, you ducked under a gooseberry bush, some stray spines catching onto your fur. Letting out a whimper full of both fear and pain, you try to extract yourself from the fruit bearing plant, desperate to be away from the... creature chasing you. The rustle of underbrush in front of you turned your blood to ice in your veins. Frozen in terror, your wide eyes locked on a cat-like thing. It padded towards you leisurely, as though it had all the time in the world. It's fur was as dark ginger but it's eyes... they were pitch black. As it grew closer you realized what you thought had been tall ears were actually short horns atop the beast's head. Unable to move, you let out a loud scream. The creature merely smirked at you. "Found you, little rabbit," it purred, revealing itself to be feminine of nature - at least to your ears. Her inky eyes bore into you, sending shivers racing down your spine. Desperation drove you to struggle violently against the bush, claws flashing in the light as you dug into the ground. The spines dug into your skin and the smell of blood wafted into the air. "How delicious you smell," the monster cooed, stepping closer to you while scenting the air. Crying out, you finally were able to tug yourself free of the gooseberry bush your eyes searched wildly for some sort of escape route. "Now, no-" but before the thing could continue whatever it was about to say there was a flash from out of the bushes and a cat launched itself at the creature. The creature snarled and turned to meet it, wrestling the smaller feline to the ground. "Hey, civilian, get moving. They'll take care of the demon," a voice from your left barked, startling you. With a gasp, your head whipped around to find another cat waiting impatiently in small opening in the thick brush you hadn't noticed before. They gave a sharp jerk of their head, clearly commanding you to follow them. Did they say demon? Unwilling to stay near the large horned creature, you rushed after the irritated feline. "So you do have a brain? I'll take you back to camp so our medicine cats can look at your wounds, otherwise you'll attract even more trouble," the cat snorted, shaking their head before casting you a side glance. Your heart was still racing in your chest and your legs shook with every step but you forced yourself to continue on. "Wha-What was th-that?" you demanded finally. The muscular feline leading the way paused, turning to cast you an analyzing glance before flashing a large, slightly terrifying grin. "Just another day in paradise. Welcome to HallowedClan, kid." About We are no ordinary clan. We are quite unusual actually and knows about topics most other cats dismiss as fantasy and myth. Not our clan, we know it's all real. Demons and monsters? They exist in our world and they are pure chaos and creatures of darkness. But that's why we train, that's why we hunt. We work and risk our necks so that the world is a safer place, at least in our little corner. We live by a code of honor that binds us together tighter than any demon could ever hope to unravel. Life for us isn't always rainbows and butterflies but we do what we have to in order to survive. Welcome to HallowedClan, keep your claws sharp but your wits sharper.
HallowedClan cats come from all walks of life, seeing as years ago they were two clans and some rogues, merging together to create one group. A great mixture of fur colors, lengths, and textures can be found here. It is rarer to see smaller built cats, as they don't often survive the rigorous training and hunting that take place. Most cats are muscular or agile with strong legs and long tails for good balance. Scars are extremely common in the clan and are worn as badges of honor and pride, even seen as a mark of beauty. It isn't rare to see a cat with a necklace, as warlocks wear amulets strapped with vines to show which animal spirit they are bound to.
Weapons: - Silver Claws - these are caps that cats wear on their claws. Coated in blessed water. They are made by exorcists with their ability to shape metal. - Blessed Water - water blessed by StarClan. This is carried in capsules that can be worn around a cats neck or is used as a coating. Exorcists and Medicine Cats can both produce blessed water. - Silver Fangs - these are more rare, as they are harder to apply and more permanent. Made by exorcists. - Abilities - this varies depending on the cat. Genetic or blessed. - Iron Claws - useful against enemies that aren't effected by silver. Made by exorcist. Rules Literacy -- Please avoid one-liners, make sure to give your partner enough to work with. You must use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Activity -- Please aim to be active at least twice a week. Four times if you are holding a high position withing the clan or an important position relating to a plot.
Powerplay -- No godmodding or controlling other peoples characters without explicit permission. Your character cannot dodge every attack or kill every monster. Please try and keep battles realistic.
Characters -- Your characters must come with flaws and weaknesses. Please try and keep the genders within the clan somewhat balanced as well. For new joiners you will be limited to four characters, but more will be allowed as you rp more. Designs can get a bit crazy, but nothing too wild. Please refer to the hybrid explanation for details when making one.
OOC vs In Character -- When out of character please indicate so with {}, [], () or anything else you may decide to use. When your character is speaking please use "" so as to avoid confusion.
Familial Bonds -- Please try and give your character some sort of familial bond within the clan.
Inclusivity -- LGBT+ characters are allowed! If that makes you uncomfortable, this clan is not for you.

I really liked the first or last ones best. I think if we do decide to go with the last one, I might need to make the infection period on the zombies a little longer because otherwise cats would be dying left and right and I don't know how many people would be up for that xD It only takes five days - and that's for a full grown cat! It'd be shorter for young apprentices and kits. Ooof.

Haha good point! Maybe it could take longer to kill a cat if they are taken care of correctly. Maybe there could also be an herb they have to find that could slow down the infection?? But not cure it. There's also deciding how the diseased is spread. Is it only spread for the zombies to the cats, or can any cat get it if they come in contact with an ill cat. Is it spread through the air, or does it need to make contact with your blood/saliva. What were you thinking?
|
|
|
Post by little blu ♥ on Jun 20, 2020 18:53:52 GMT -5
That makes a ton of sense actually, I don't know what herb. Maybe something that's usually a poison but instead of killing the cat it kills the infection? Lol, my creativity is all over the place today, sorry. Hm, good question. I think it would probably be spread through blood and saliva, though I don't know how that would spread throughout the clan - aside from a ton of zombie attacks and bites being delivered directly from the zombies? Maybe the first few hours after the infection sets in - after the two day incubation period - the poison makes the cat go a bit mad and they try to attack others? Then the heightened aggression fades and maybe some cat got hurt and the infection spreads that way?

Ok, so I threw the territory into a scroll box because it was just soooo long. But if you don't like that we can take it out! History Years ago, there lived two clans, one that made their home in the forest and the other made their home in what is now the Amber Desert. The two got along for many seasons in harmony, until the demons came. They wreaked havoc between the clans, pitting the TimberClan and SandClan against one another and later starting a vicious war. These battles were bloody and violent, leaving few unscathed. In the end, both clans suffered huge losses, so large that barely ten cats remained in either clan. Hickoryspark, deputy of TimberClan, and Redwind, the medicine cat of SandClan were the only two higher-ranking cats left and as they stared at what remained of their clans, the two realized the mistake the war had been. StarClan wasn't appeased by their simple realization and a mere apology couldn't soothe their wrath. A terrible earthquake shook both territories and the nearby twoleg town, which was quickly deserted. After the end of this disaster, the two clans were forced to work together to rebuild, settling in a makeshift home in the shrublands. Their peace didn't last long, however, as a rogue group showed up, claiming to be mercenaries. They hunted creatures that the broken clan cats had only just begun to discover were real. An uprising or strigoi and demons sent them running from their home and luckily the mercs helped them find a safe place to make a more permanent camp, a large twoleg building made from stone. The rogues explained that the building was made on hallowed ground, which made it impossible for full-blooded demons and strigoi to enter. The clan cats begged the mercenaries to stay and a few did decide to stay, helping to train them in the way of monster hunting. StarClan approved of this new direction, as it was keeping the clan safe, so they awarded the clan with more gifts, like blessed water, special abilities, and amulets that gave them certain gifts. One of the mercenaries, a huge tom named Flint, became the first new leader of HallowedClan. He was awarded the name Flintstar and given his nine lives. His reign was a prosperous one as the clan settled into their new home, scoping out new spots within the territory to call home. Redwind was given the ability to call the deceased back from the grave and speak with them directly and all medicine cats after her were also blessed with the gift. Hickoryspark was made General and helped improve relations between benevolent ghosts and the clan. Soon enough hybrids began popping up with the clan, half-breeds between monsters and cats. They were treated differently depending on what they were mixed with but most fight for and believe in equal rights, especially since being a hybrid can aid in being a better mercenary.
Territory
Hemlock Lake: A expansive lake created by surrounding boulders and covered by a heavy fog that never seems to clear. It feeds the three rivers snaking throughout the forest territory. The water is murky and dark, it's nearly impossible to see the bottom which makes it difficult for fishing. Frogs and some water based herbs can be found around the banks however. Cats who visit the lake at night when the fog is at its worst will swear they hear the water lapping against something huge cutting through the dark waves. No matter what is causing these noises, it would be wise to be careful when nearing the waters edge. Some call it Molly’s Lake in reference to the rumored monster living within. Forbidden Shrine: The building that serves as our camp was not only a church but an orphanage as well and the children would often wander off into the woods to play. Their dolls and trinkets now hang from the trees and bushes, leaving a somber hush over the area. When cats were first populating the area, a group of kittens got lost in this section of the woods and one disappeared, never to be seen again. This is why cats who wander too close to this small area of the forest will hear the crying of a kit begging for you to come closer, begging for help. It's advised that you never wander close and never bend to the voice's will. The Forbidden Shrine is rumored to be home to some sort of arachnid based monster, since the area is always covered in webbing. Undergrowth and trees don't grow here, so herbs can't be found bit it's a good source of cobwebs when necessary. Upwalkers Den: A rundown twoleg place at the end of an old and overgrown trail coming from (The main town). It was once home to a large family but it hasn't seen human contact in many years. The windows are boarded up and there are only two easily accessible entrances into the building. One is through a hole in the back of the chimney which leads directly into the hearth. The upstairs flooring in unstable and rotting but the bottom floor is full of mice, rats, and cobwebs. The upper level is home to a few bird nests since there are many holes in the upper windows. It is of course, pretty dangerous to go upstairs and most clan cats don't attempt it. The only other entrance available to felines would be the backdoor, which has a large split in it and leads to an old kitchen. Within the fence sits a garden housing hard to find herbs like catmint, parsley, chamomile, and lavender. Privates will often dare each other to climb the barbed wire and ivy covered fence and return with herbs to prove their courage. Unfortunately not all return. There appears to be a creature of some sort inside the house that stalks in the shadows. It strikes very sporadically, you'll never know if it will decide to grab you, which is why most fully trained mercenaries go in groups into the den and only during the day. The Garden of Memory: This is a very sacred place for the clan. It is an abandoned twoleg graveyard that they have taken over as their own. A few ghosts can be seen floating around freely up and down the stones, though one in particular is always in the Garden of Memory, as he guards it. His name is Jackdaw, and he seems to be just a hair short of insane but he takes his job of guard very seriously - even if it is self-imposed. The clan mainly looks upon him fondly, like a crazy old uncle. Cats who have earned a proper burial are buried here so that their spirits may ascend to StarClan and or be brought back through necromancy. Cats who have committed crimes or acts of betrayal are sent down Quick Silver Stream, refused the opportunity to be welcomed into StarClan.
or The Stone Circle: Beneath camp, only accessible outside by a set out hidden stairs around back of the abandoned church, is the training grounds. The roof is arched and there is a single square window which lets in most of the light. There are three levels of flooring, the highest one being used for training that has to do with abilities that an apprentice may possess. The second level is for hunting practice, littered with moss balls and stones used for pouncing. The third level is the lowest and the closest to the entrance. Its also the widest and instead of being made out of stone, it's made from dirt and a wide circle from stones are made in the center. This is the battle ring, where a main demonstration could be given or two chosen apprentices will fight until one is forced to step outside the circle. Other battle practice is to be preformed outside the ring. Ignis' Cave: At the far western border of territory, the master vampire makes his home. The cave entrance is deceptively small for such a large, deep cave but not many get to see the inside of it. Ignis is relatively friendly towards (name)Clan but he is a bit territorial of his home. It's polite to call for him at the entrance if he's needed, and some apprentices make a game of it during the day, trying to wake Ignis from his sleep. Little Rush River: This is the longest river in the territory, running straight through and ending at Hemlock Lake. It runs near the camp and is the usual source of fresh drinking water for the clan. Good fishing in wider parts of the river is hard to come by and those areas are prone being slick with mud and sludge, so one has to be careful where their placing their paws. Little Rush River is fairly easy going and freezes mostly solid during Leaf-bare, though it's thin enough to break near camp. Crossing is generally easy as the water doesn't get very deep and there are few wide lengths of the river. Some sections of the water are so thin cats can jump from bank to bank. Quick Silver Stream: Fishing in this stream is a dangerous trial but some cats are able to pull it off. Mostly the clan uses this river for all the moss and water based herbs that grow abundantly along the banks. The river was actually named for a young molly named Silverflash who dove in to save a fallen private. She unfortunately didn't make it but her quick action saved a young life that day. Quick Silver Stream is on the edge of their territory, along their far border which is advantageous to the clan because it is wide and extremely difficult to cross. Rolling Boulder Creek: This little creek is covered with rocks, hence the name. It runs very shortly through their territory, in the more dense forest beside Hemlock Lake. A silver mine exists somewhere along the creek farther down and this is where some of our silver supply comes from. You'll find silver nuggets lying amongst the pebbles and rocks and the clan will send excavation patrols when they're in need of more. The rocks make for very easy crossing and frogs and toads, even some crayfish are common in this area. Ghastly Hollow: This is a true ghost town, abandoned by humans for so many years that the buildings have begun to fall apart and crumble in certain areas. This is the clan's main monster hunting ground, as there seems to be something about the old place that invites evil to spawn there. Actual ghosts can be seen pretty much everywhere throughout the hollow, a few of them more famous than others. There's Moxie, a large molly who basically runs Ghastly Hollow. Lief and his big brother Haze who like to play pranks on unsuspecting cats. Lucile, a grumpy elderly female who snarks at everyone. And then there's Spook, who as his name implies scares easily and rarely shows himself. Coyotes are a huge problem in this area since there are a few wild chickens living in the hollow. Twolegs have left many things behind and this is where the cats get some of their silver and even some small trinkets that they find pretty or unique. Privates are forbidden to go here without at least two mercenaries due to the danger levels. Amber Desert: Beside the shrub-land that Ghastly Hollow rests in is the wide Amber Desert. Hallowedclan territory doesn't span the whole desert, really only a small chunk of it. The sands are hot and red, but there is much life here. Ivory Ruins, the Oasis, and Cactus Grove all reside in this section of the territory. This is also where phantoms can be seen, though no one truly knows what they are or even if they actually exist. It can be very easily to get turned around in the Amber Desert, so it's prudent to be careful and go with a trained group when traveling. Ivory Ruins: Ruins found far within the Amber Desert, it's about two days trek from Ghastly Hollow and traveling herbs are always needed before taking the journey. Without a direct source of water, cats have taken to chewing on desert grass and taking the moisture from the few surrounding blades. The ruins are made of thick, pale stone and bones tend to lay scattered about - both of which earned this landmark it's name. During nights with a full moon you can see the shambling shapes of skeletal creatures doomed to wander there. Any animal that has died on the desert sands will eventually end up there, even clan cats can be forced to wander aimlessly if their body is not brought back. If provoked the skeletal animals will attack. Stones and gems gathered here are brought back to camp, blessed by StarClan, and then given to warlocks to use as amulets. The Oasis: Not too far from Ghastly Hollow, a little under a day's walk, is the Oasis. As its name implies, it is a small watering hole in the Amber Desert, which the clan cats often use as a camping place on their travels to the Ivory Ruins. This is a great place to hunt for horned lizards, iguanas, desert mice, and the occasional jackrabbit. This surplus of prey also makes it an attraction to both natural predators, like coyotes and rattlesnakes, but also quite a few malicious creatures as well. The water may not be the clearest, nor really the coolest but it does well to clench thirst for traveling cats. If a cat is so inclined, a few smaller fish can be caught in the shallows. Cactus Grove: As the name implies this is a grove of cacti in the Amber Desert. Not too far from Ivory Ruins, these cacti stand tall against the sky surrounded by a few bushes. This is another decent spot for desert hunting, especially birds and small mammals. One still needs to keep an eye out for scorpions, rattlesnakes and kingsnakes. Even the cacti themselves can pose a threat if one isn't careful of them. There are a great many legends of drinking cactus juice and how it gives you vividly prophetic dreams but rarely are there cats willing to take the risk.

Not a ton of ideas, but I hope at least one is decent??? I still suck royally at coming up with names haha Most of them build off what we already have.
Monster Hunt: When a Private looking to become a Mercenary graduate from their apprenticeship they must go on a hunt. This hunt is done alone with Mercenaries and Medicine Cats on standby. To complete this task and become a full fledged Mercenary they must find and successfully kill the monster named by their Mentor. The difficulty of the monster will often decide the pecking order for the new Mercenary within the ranks.
Ivory Lapidary: When gems and stones from the Ivory Ruins are brought back to camp they must be bless by Starclan and turned into amulets. Lapidary is the process in which the cats form their amulets and bond with their animal patron. Once this is complete they will have the ability to access the animals powers and abilities. Privates will often put their own spin into their amulets so each one is different.
Hallowed Funeral: When a clan cat has died their remains must be buried within the confines of the Garden of Memories. Known as a Hallowed Funeral the cats remains are placed in a deep hole blessed by an Exorcist. It's said that cats improperly buried cannot be risen by Necromancers and will be unable to speak to the clan.
Herb Run: While not an official tradition, the Herb Run is done at the Upwalkers Den. Privates will often dare each other to climb the barbed wire and ivy-covered fence and return with herbs to prove their courage. It's not encouraged and is often banned, but what kind of Private looking to prove their worth would turn down the chance?
Name?: Every year a large group of wandering spectral cats will visit the camp. These cats cannot be spoken with and will often ignore the clan cats completely, even Necromancers are unable to commune with these dead. If they are respected, and with a bit of luck, it's said they will sometimes leave rare and unusual items found on their eternal journey. Occasionally you may catch a spirit looking at you. What this means for the cat has not been proven, but some think it's a sign of bad luck.
Battle Competition (Name?): Cats who partake in this competition will be able to raise their rank among the Mercenaries and are often held in high regard by the rest of the clan. Privates have their own branch of the competition, and those who do well in the competitions often have an easier time becoming a full fledged Mercenary. Those who do not partake in the battles will more often than not bet on those who they thing will win, trading small items or the best pieces of prey. If you could let me know which of these you want to use, and maybe help me figure out some names for them. We can change the names of the other ones as well. We also need to figure out the finer details for the competition.

Sorry about the poof, I'm helping my mom set up a gift for father's day for her boyfriend ~ I really like the coding! I think the only things I would think about changing is maybe making the first part of the rules bold? And maybe the directory topics italicized? Just little tiny things that are more for looks than anything. It honestly looks really wonderful!
Yeah, we need to fill in the holes we have. xD Traditions being number one!
I really like all of the traditions you came up with, honestly! For the Monster Hunt maybe the Lone Trials? Or just the Trials? Or we can keep monster hunt? Maybe Monster Trials? Maybe for the spectral cats one... Night of the Travelers or the Spectral Migration (dunno can't think) For the battle competition maybe... The Tournament?

Oooooo those are super fun names! I think I'll have a demon hybrid, angel hybrid, and two warlocks. The two I drew before I prolly gonna be what I design them off of haha As for prefixes I think I might use Golden and Bat, though the other two I'm not so sure yet. Maybe Owl?

I'm still trying to figure my characters out... xD Golden and Bat are cute prefixes for an angel and demon hybrid. ^^ Owl is cool too!

Also, I was thinking about giving our mercenaries rankings? That way we'd actually have a way to tell whether someone moves up in position? Like S-Rank is the highest and C-Rank is where new mercenaries start out? That way the Tournament would have a real purpose? C-Rank - These are the new mercenaries. They have a lot of work to do and a whole lot to prove to their superiors. They usually get stuck helping the privates with chores and are usually given weaker creatures to go after. Not allowed to be mentors. B-Rank - Mercenaries who have proved themselves or held the rank for a few moons belong here. They are allowed to mentor privates and are given much more respect than C-Rank cats. These mercenaries are allowed to go after more dangerous creatures. A-Rank - These mercenaries are greatly respected within the clan. They're often mentors and are never forced to do chores. They are allowed to consider Silver Fangs, which are a permanent weapon. Only A-Rank can be considered for deputy when the time comes. S-Rank - The rarest of rankings. It takes a great act of courage, power, or skill to end up among these ranks. These are the bad of the bad. Instead of being respected, they are often seen as dangerous and intimidating - which makes them outcasts within the clan. Even still, mercenaries and privates alike often aspire to gain this rank. They are extremely deadly and go after the toughest creatures.
Above is just a random idea for ranks btw ^

For the front page all we have left is to get up any links, decide the climate/season, create and put up our characters, figure out how we want to list the relationships, and write up any plot descriptions.

Sorry about yesterday, family is real important to me and we had a big cookout and just kind of hung out all day ~ Do you think we should explain the exorcist role a little more since it is new and we created it? Just so joiners know what's going on? Sounds good, what season do you think we should start in? We could keep it real to life and just do Green Leaf?

Exorcists are somewhat self explanatory, but I do think it would be smart to maybe explain them a little. And yeah, we can start with Green Leaf ^^

Exorcists: These are cats blessed by StarClan, who are given the gift of Light. This allows them to purify areas by sending waves of Light from their paws. They can preform exorcisms to get evil spirits or high demons out of the bodies they possess and then destroy the beings with their Light. Other than StarClan, they can purify Blessed Water, though their water isn't usually is strong. High demons and malevolent ghosts are their primary prey.
Okay, it's Green Leaf, we can start in the morning on a partly cloudy day. As for relationships, how should we list them? I usually just do something like: Blackfur and Whitetail are silbings. Bluefoot mentors Pinkpaw. Yellowspot has a crush on Greenface.
Usually with a color or bolding to emphasize the relationships or even to differentiate genders. But I'm open to suggestions!
