[ No worries, Des! We all know how it is! ]
[ I'm about to write a Kaus reply in case some Outliers want someone to interact with. For Rem, I can always have her kill Circe herself if no one wants to bag the kill haha ัฯฯััฮตdัะฝฮนะผะผฮตั up to you now that Charon is declining to intervene. Jett definitely won't do anything since he's planning on killing the other careers later anyway. ]

kaus.
When he reached the far shore, he pulled himself onto a bed of tall grass and stood there for a long moment. Back at the cornucopia, he could just make out the shapes of a few people--probably the Careers gathering all the supplies they could ever need. He hated them. He hated them because they were set up to win, just as he was set up to fail. The President liked to sit in the safety of his home, cackling to himself as he sent 23 teenagers to their deaths. Panem believed it was true competition, but Kaus knew it was anything but. It was scripted just as all things were. Perhaps the participants had a degree of free will, but only so far as it pleased the game keepers and the government. It wasn't a game. It was a well rehearsed play.
But these thoughts were unhelpful.
He slung his backpack over his shoulder and trudged through the thick undergrowth to the cover of trees. His first task was to find an adequate place to hide. He knew from the wisdom of his mentor and from watching the games himself that exposure was the worst killer in the games. Those who failed to find clean water, food, and a place to sleep died within a matter of days regardless of their skill in combat. Kaus did not want to go this way. Death by exposure is far worse than death by weapon. Starvation, exhaustion, freezing were the worst possible outcome. Give him a clean blow to the head instead.
But shelter in this arena would be difficult. He knew this as soon as he saw the wet terrain and overgrown vegetation. Without dry ground, tributes would find themselves sleeping in mud and wet grass, both of which could quickly lead to hypothermia. His first task, then, was to find the driest area to set up camp.
He trekked along a shallow creek. The water was murky and swirled with dark sediment. No sign of fish, but he suspected they were lurking there unseen, along with snakes and alligators. The Gamekeepers had a cruel sense of humor. For this reason, he would avoid the water at all costs. Better to take his chances with furry creatures.
The terrain was difficult to navigate. The branches of the trees swooped low, heavy with moss and leaves. The ground squelched with every step. Mosquitos buzzed in his ears and followed him in a nagging cloud around his head. He swatted at them angrily. At one point he looked back to find that he had only made it about half a mile, despite having walked for about twenty minutes. It was then that he noticed he was being followed. He spotted the girl's head when he was scanning the shoreline. He didn't acknowledge her, nor did he try to run. It was the girl from seven. He didn't remember her name (Kaus made a point not to memorize any of the names of the tributes, that way it would be easier to kill them. Getting too attached was another killer in the games). He simply went back to hacking his way through the woods. The ground was slowly rising, and he suspected he would find a clearing soon enough.
This suspicion was confirmed an hour after he reached the island. Eventually he clambered up an outcrop of rocks and found himself on a small plateau. The trees there were tall evergreens, and the ground was covered with a bed of needles rather than grass. Kaus' shoulders relaxed. He found a rock to sit on and then zipped open his pack to see what was inside. The first thing he pulled out was a heavy flashlight. Not particularly useful as it would give up his position in the dark, but it could be used as a weapon. A small tarp, only about six feet long and four feet wide. A coil of twine. A small water bottle.
Well, he thought. It's better than nothing.

Apologies for the delay in posting!) Solaris ~โะะ
ะขฮะะฃSol hit the ground hard and rolled onto her side, wincing as she realized too late that someone had knocked her down. She was as good as dead out here. Shit... she should've gone straight for the woods. As someone grabbed onto her, her hand flew to her knife, but she stopped instantly as she heard that person whisper to her, dragging her along. Odds were, he was going to search her and kill her later. Or he was trying to be a hero. Either way, she'd take what the Games threw at her. "I'm not gonna stab you, idiot!" she hissed, stumbling along with the taller person who was dragging her. "Just run!!"

โ If you swing on me, you better not miss. โ โ โฆ โฆ โฆ โ [ seventeen - District 1 ]
... this is just a border between places ... Shifting his weight, going over the items around, having a glance between those whom might consider themselves the "Careers", he was quick to make sure to pick out what he wanted, checking over what was in the bag that he had grabbed. At least, that was his plans for the time being. His dark blue gaze flicked up and around often, turning his head slightly one way, than another, to listen, making sure to not be caught off guard by anyone. He heard some rocks in the distance and frowned, looking in the direction just in time to see the small District 1 girl thrown down, a tumble of the two females going down into the water.
His training told him to wait, his instincts said to be patient. Watch who would come out on top, and then take care of them. The stronger of the two would likely be injured, and if this small girl was truly a Career, she would likely be able to take care of herself, and make it easier for her to be a target with injuries later in the Games. If the unnamed girl whom had assaulted her was the victor of the fight, then it was easy just to go after her instead, and one might even call it justice for his supposed "ally" that he had.
Yet, Percy found himself dropping his backpack, it was not meant to keep him from diving down into the water. His hand already got out a chakram, gripping tightly on the interior of the weapon, his long strides taking him down to the beach before he really knew what he was doing. What was he doing? Why did his body take him to the water's edge?
Ain't time to think 'bout that, mooncake. He swore he could hear his voice reprimanding him for taking his focus off of the immediate danger before him. Didn't take you as the hero type. He wasn't. Percy was far from that. Perhaps he was moving because it would look better in the eyes of any potential sponsors? "I'm not." he told himself silently as he waded through the water. "I'm not a hero. I never was, never have been, never will. I'm not a knight in shining armor, I'm not some fancy hero from the night to protect the innocent." Yet, something propelled him into the water.
Taking in a deep breath, he pushed himself under the murky waters, going in the direction where he heard the struggle. Legs kicking up the bottom were visible slightly, kicking around the debris of the water. His 'ally' was smaller, so he grabbed a firm hold on the larger leg, moving quickly to avoid being kicked in the process, moving over her and quickly grabbing her hair, wincing as the hands that he assumed were on the smaller girl went instead on his own arms.
Focus. His gaze went to the girl's physical form, looking at her silvery hair flowing around in the water. His free hand went to her hair to pull back, just as those large hands went for his own throat, quickly preparing himself for the shock and pressure around his neck, forcing his other arm to force through water as quickly as the dense liquid would allow, quickly wrapping his legs around her waist and holding her there to struggle to get the blade close to her neck, pushing himself more and more, feeling a light-headed pressure as the girl tried to push his head away, and then upon seeing his blade, she went for his arm.
But, that was the beauty of the chakram. One couldn't just grab it or disarm the wielder. Her hand was cut the second she went for his weapon, and he was quick to take that moment of shock and go for the kill, quickly opening her neck and dying the waters red, shoving her away to let her quickly bleed out.
He pushed himself quickly up to the surface, gasping and quickly pushing himself back to the shore, rolling his shoulders and trying to dry himself off as best as possible, giving a small huff, a blank face void of emotion plastered on his face as he quickly looked around she he got the water out of his ears, listening. Nice kill, mooncake. A small sigh escaped through his nose as he pushed himself to go back to grab at his bag, hesitating a moment to glance back at the smaller girl, to see where she was, to see if she actually was alright.

Simic - Redfleck Running through shallow water was harder than the teen couldโve ever fathomed. He reached a certain distance on pure adrenaline, then slowed as he felt the increasing tug of mud against his boots. Heโd been careless to get so out of breath - and he came to a dead stop somewhere in the exposed marsh as his chest heaved.
He bent over, hands sitting heavy on his knees to support his weight. Water was splashed all up his back from his time running, and beads of sweat slid down his forehead, but he seemed oblivious of his external conditions. His mind was racing, causing the recovery of his breath to take even longer; but eventually he found it in himself to sit upright and look around.
There was a surge of regret for not retrieving some kind of weapon, though he had to swallow the feeling by reminding himself that he would likely have ended up as a corpse if heโd tried. Swimming was among the plethora of skills he needed to improve on, so the cornucopiaโs location was nothing but an inconvenience - along with the majority of the arena. Heโd need to find some kind of secure land to take shelter on, or at least be sure he avoided stumbling into deep water. To be safe, it would best if he kept moving when there was still day light.
He was about to continue when noise behind him caught his attention. He spun around, stumbling backwards in the mud as he considered a retreat, though he hesitated as he tried to identify the figure that dared to come it such close proximity. โHey!โ He called, voice struggling not to break. He squinted, still not sure who, or what, he was seeing. He was ready to run if he saw a weapon, or if the tribute decided to try and rush him - his hands balled at his sides to avoid shaking.
((lmao sorry for the shit quality,, Iโm struggling to find time to write aaa))

Ash eyed the girlโs knife nervously as she reached for it, and gave a sharp sigh of relief when she resisted the instinctive reaction to plunge it towards him. He realized that he had no idea if he could even trust this girl...or if she would ever come to trust him, but there was no way he could leave her now. His mentor had told him that trying to find an alliance was a dumb idea, because there could only be one victor in the end, but being alone the whole time sounded so terrible he hadnโt really taken that advice seriously. He hadnโt really expected to be with someone trustworthy...still...he felt a little uncertain as he dragged the stranger along with him.
โOkay, yeah,โ he said quickly as she snapped at him, moving quickly now that he was certain she would move along with him.
Getting through the deep marsh was tricky, as he wasnโt sure how much support his company needed, or how much she would allow him to give. Once they reached earth that he could confidently plant his feet in, he took a loose hold of her jacket sleeve so he could pull her along while being sure it was easy enough for her to pull away. Navigation through the mud and low water was still uncomfortable, but he was glad they werenโt swimming anymore. Solaris was shorter than him, and also blind, so he had to remind himself that anything that was difficult for him would be harder for her.
Land, or a noticeable abundance of it, was nowhere in sight. There was a tree line nearby, though the root system seemed to go directly into the water. He headed for it anyways, hoping it could act as cover and not just as a magnet for other tributes. They could stop and examine the environment later; though he was curious what sort of arena theyโd just been dropped into. The water smelled fresh, but he had no real idea what kind of scent came with salt and/or brackish water - and he was too focused on moving to be able to identify what type of trees they were approaching from this distance. Theyโd have to make due with whatever there were given, but he hoped they could find something low enough that he could easily help his company into the branches and out of the water.
He turned to look around, scanning the water for signs of movement or cause for concern, then glanced back at Solaris when he felt it was safe. โUh, sorry for running into you,โ he said nervously, not sure how to start conversation. โUm...I donโt know if you want help or not, but,โ he looked down at his axe as he struggled to think. โIโm Ashley, from seven, m-most people have been calling me Ash though...so...โ Most people from home called him Mavis after his father died, but Ash had been tossed around occasionally - he wasnโt really sure why the Capital had taken such a liking to it, but his mentor had said it was better to just go with it. โUh,โ he didnโt know how to continue, and he became distracted by the nearing trees, so he fell into an awkward pause.
((yo rain,, itโs a common mistake,, but to get my attention faster,, my @ is actually just des now! @/destiny is my old acc))
((also โโะพฯ about the arena,, im aware itโs swamp land thatโs mostly grass n mud,, but what type of vegetation can be seen?? are we talking swamp bald cypress or more a mossy live oak tree?? or somethin different entirely?? also the water is fresh right?? sorry for all the questions rip))

OH my bad des! I didn't even notice) ~โัััฮนะธั with SolarisSol went along with her new companion for a while, allowing herself to be led through what felt like water and thick mud. She didn't speak until he did - it was taking most of her concentration not to get her boots stuck in the mud under her feet or trip on any of the unseen lumps and bumps under the water. "Technically I ran into you," she pointed out, raising an eyebrow as her eyes traveled sightlessly to glance in the general direction of his voice. His introduction gave her pause, though, and she did a sort of double take, tilting her head as something clicked in her head. "Ash......oh yeah, I know who you are," she said slowly, the memory making its way back to the front of her brain. "Your face is all messed up, right? The Capitol was all over that in your interview, making a big deal about it." She smirked, raising two finger to point to her eyes. "I got you beat, though. Blind girl getting picked in the Reaping? They eat that stuff up. Crowd loves an underdog." She shook her head, disdainful. "Solaris. Most people call me Sol. You know about me already, though, if you watched the interviews." She paused, thinking through the rest of his introduction, and then continued, one hand reaching out to grip his sleeve for better support as they made their way through the water. "I don't need your help, but I won't complain if you wanna team up. Probably a stupid idea, though, unless you're hoping to get sympathy points from your sponsor."

Charon Fournier [ district 1 ][ location: cornucopia ][ status: uninjured ][ @ relevant people ] "They must have scattered," Rem had replied while fixing her hair. "I guess that means weโre intimidating."
"Yeah, whatever." Charon glanced at Rem, then at Perseus. The silent man was also putting on some kind of show - but at least with him it made sense. He couldn't talk!
As she perused the remaining tools, a figure splashed out of the water, going straight for Rem. "Guess she spoke too soon," said Charon, offering hardly even a glance in the direction of the fight. A hammer caught her eye instead. She grabbed it, testing its weight and center of mass in her hands. A bit larger than the ones from training but should be easy to handle regardless.
Bang! She gave it a test strike against the wall where it came from. The sound of metal on metal pierced the air. Charon didn't hold back her grin as she examined the dent. Nailed it.
Through the residual echoes of the hammer, she hardly noticed Perseus disappear into the waterโthat was, until the echoes faded.
Someone's in the back! The career girl rushed out and around the perimeter towards the sound of splashing water. From behind the round walls of the Cornucopia, Charon detected not one, but two tributes fleeing the Cornucopia. She grabbed the knife without even thinking and hurled it towards the taller of the two.
As the blade departed from her fingers, so did the grin depart from her face. The knife cut a path in the air that she didn't intend forโa gust of wind knocked it off course, sending it into the waters next to the targets with a harmless plop. Now the duo just ran off faster, and Charon knew she had no chance of reaching them. Though she was a career, she didn't possess superhuman water speed. That became apparent when she showed up late to the Cornucopia. Hardly more than a minute, and what she thought would be a thrilling beginning turned into a pathetic waste of time.
At least, it was a waste of time for her. Charon spun around. The unmistakable sound of a freshly sliced-open throat. Someone had just secured a kill. Once Rem died, Charon could face off against Perseus. Now that would be real fight.
She rounded the front corner. Oh. A corpse of district 3 floated in the water. Definitely the most uneventful outcome. The career girl didn't expect much to come from it, but she waded into the bloody waters and instinctively began to pat down the body to feel for any useful items. Later she'd drag it onto land and strip it for fabric.
"Someone help me get this back on land," Charon called, tugging on the body. It was heavier than it looked, likely due to the water having soaked through the clothing and hair.

Blaise Barr[ district 2 ][ location: cornucopia ][ status: uninjured ][ ~โัััฮนะธั ] Oh my god. Finally. After some long minutes, the tribute slowed down. Not long after, they came to a stop and seemed to almost collapse into the mud. Good - this meant everything that Blaise wanted from this encounter: that he wasn't walking into his grave.
As he neared the tribute, he let his pace slow down. There was no need to fight the sticky mud anymore and a giant need for a break. Blaise's hair stuck to his scalp, both from the humidity and from sweat. His legs already felt sore. Ideally, Blaise would allow himself to rest a moment, but his discomfort in swamps always won out against any level of exhaustion. He pushed on despite the fatigue, eager to find solid ground and, maybe, a companion.
Blaise might have kept to himself, but he didn't want to die alone.
"Hey!" The tribute called out with a shaking voice, confirmation of Blaise's own theory.
"I won't hurt you," Blaise called back. A pause. Should he say something else? Just the claim that he was friendly must sound awfully suspicious, and he didn't want this person to run away from him. "Uhh," he added gracefully. "I'm Blaise, from district 2.... Who are you?"

( There are 7 people finishing in the top 12 and 9 people finishing in the bottom 12. I doubt a bunch of new people will suddenly join to fill in the remaining slots. I just asked a friend if she wanted to join, but one person won't be enough to fill in 6 empty slots.
I have an idea. Why don't we write the remaining characters as interactable NPCs? Basically, give them a character sheet, but nobody controls them? We just track their general location. They can die whenever and they can kill anyone in their area if we need an excuse for someone to die. It's better than having void districts. )

Ashely - <Raintalon> โWell, yeah, thatโs true.โ Ash agreed slowly. It was true that sheโd been the one that had ran into him, but it was his fault for not better keeping track of his surroundings. He didnโt have the excuse of being blind, after all, and if it had been anyone else he collided with; someone would be dead. He wasnโt sure if heโd be able to trust Sol in full, but he was truly lucky that sheโd listened to him when he asked that she didnโt stab him. Maybe it was a sign that sheโd become a good ally...
He blinked in surprise at her words, starting to reach for his jaw before he remembered he was holding an axe. โUm, yeah. My jaw,โ he pursed his lips, then looked at her in surprise as she continued. โBeat?โ He looked around in confusion while she kept talking, deciding to skip over all the stuff about being an underdog. Heโd noticed that the Capital asked him a lot of questions about his jaw - way more than anyone from his district had ever cared to ask - but he hadnโt been sure why it was such a big deal. Having a weird looking face didnโt make killing, or getting killed, any easier. He figured thatโs what Sol was talking about, but he had never thought of it so...competitively? โYeah...youโre kinda a big deal.โ
The boy perked in surprise as she embraced the idea of a partnership so directly. โO-oh! I mean,โ he hesitated, thinking over her words. โMy mentor said the same thing...actually. He didnโt think...um...he didnโt think the sponsors would be worth it. I donโt really care about that though, and I really donโt want to be alone, and everyone seems to think the both of us are at disadvantages.โ He looked up, gazing at the hanging moss in fascination as they entered the darkness of the trees. โWe can help each other if you want,โ he glanced down at the hold she had on his sleeve, then towards her face. He couldnโt help but stare for a bit, gaze fixed on her sightless eyes. Heโd never met someone blind before - and it was really weird. He looked away quickly, paranoid she could secretly see him looking at her funny, and also because he nearly tripped over the knotted root system beneath the water.

Simic - Redfleck Simic tensed as the figure rightened himself to be more visible, making it known that he was another tribute. The teen ducked down, lowering himself further than his usual slouch, into a defensive position. He was skinny and had no weapon, so the odds werenโt particularly in his favor if this encounter broke into a brawl.
He narrowed his eyes at the tributeโs introduction, scoffing a bit. โLike shit,โ he muttered, though it was possible that it was loud enough for the stranger to hear. The lanky teen took in a sharp breath as Blaise went on, taking a couple of steps back. He was from district two? He was dead for sure then. He looked around, pivoting in an awkward circle as he tried to find signs of anyone else the tribute could be traveling with. The open marsh would make it difficult to try and ambush someone without them noticing, but the few moments heโd spent with his head dipped to catch his breath had made him an easy target.
โIโm from eight,โ he called, turning back to face Blaise again. โSimic,โ he added, unsure if someone from the career districts wouldโve paid enough attention to the interviews to even know his name. Heโd kept a rather low profile, and heโd been rather masked in the glory of his district partner, so he wasnโt sure if anyone would know his name. He didnโt mind...heโd just be another forgettable death in the Games that was only mourned by his family.
He looked at the tribute hard, his fist still clenched. โIf youโre not going to hurt me then what are you going to do? Whatโs your plan here, two?โ He snapped.

[ Alright I'm here! My dad left to go camping so I should have more time haha Here are few updates which I think will address some of your ideas, Redfleck! Firstly, Mosspath is joining so we have at least one more member. If your friend is considering joining, Red, have them contact us soon so we don't fill any slots they could want with NPCs. But yes, I like your idea. Any slots that no one wants can be filled by characters who might serve a function in the plot. As for a battle, I was sort of angling for the Careers and Outliers to be on either side of a rivalry. The Careers seem mostly together, so if we want a battle to happen, we might need the outliers to band together in some way. I've upgraded Kaus to a top 12 finisher so that he can be a more permanent member of the outlier alliance. ]
[ Also, Mosspath27 let me know which of your character you'd like to finish top 12 and which you'd like to finish bottom 12. ]

Styx Deirdre
Styx found herself following the boy, mindless in her motions really. Alert, but also intrigued. Surely, he had some type of path in mind? Though, looking back at it, that line of thought was stupid. There was no way this boy from 9 knew anything about the arena prior to that morning. No one except the game-makers did.
He probably had the destination of not dying in mind, which she could side with. She made her distance from him obvious as she trudged many many feet behind him, keeping her body in obvious sight. She didn't want him getting spooked, and finding some manner to kill her with.
Then he came to a stop, maybe a half hour after starting his trek, sitting on a rock, and she staggered slightly closer. Silent, this time, lips curling into a bit of a grin as her eyes flicked up to the trees. Trees indeed, she knew. Back home, she was one of the few who could climb up to the very tip of the trees, scouting out the best places to work, or cutting grass with scythes. It was part of how she earned her keep.
Part of, perhaps, how she would survive in the arena, granted she could find shelter in the trees. It did give her a bit of an idea, the trees. So she made that her next destination, one close to the boy.
With her feet silent, or mostly so, she found herself in a weird dance-like-step as she approached her target tree. Her feet angled slightly, so less surface could touch the sticks and mud underfoot. Years in the forests back home taught her how to walk like one on the hunt.
When she got to her tree, she was able to sink her hands into the bark, relying mostly on her hands as grips, due to the mud caked onto the shoes the stylists had dressed the tributes in. It was a bit harder than usual, her shoes slipping against the bark, but due to the many branches, it was easy to get up, easy, at least, for someone who grew up in the forest.
She finally perched on a low setting branch, overlooking Kaus as she swung her legs in a perched, yet more relaxed state on the branch, her hands remained at her sides, keeping her balance. She watched as he did inventory on his objects, before tipping her head. With little effort, she shook loose her own bag, letting it drop onto the needle-like grass below.
Either it would spook him into noticing her, and she could pass the time with some real company, or he would try to kill her which would lead to a fight, and honestly, she would have fun either way.
"I think I forgot your name, Nine, would you mind reminding me of what it is?" She questioned, bringing one arm up to wrest on an angled knee, cradling her cheek against the hand, in what seemed to be a relaxed, but alert pose. Alert, of course, due to the circumstances, though she doubted anyone would follow this far and not take an easy kill while the boy and herself trekked through the unknown landscape.

rem.
Her lungs screamed for air. Rem fought against the strong arms pushing her down, but was incapable of finding a strong foothold. The fractured light of the sun was eclipsed by Circeโs head. Rem could not read her expression, she couldnโt look into the eyes of the girl who was about to kill her. It felt like her brain was being squeezed between two enormous hands. Every instinct in her body told her to inhale. Despite the fading warnings from her mind, she parted her lips--
And then a red filter passed over her vision. Just as she was opening her mouth to breathe in water, she felt air fill her lungs. Her head broke the surface with a coughing gasp.
One glance downward told her all she needed to know. Crimson blood flooded the water all around her, and Rem felt Circeโs arm float limply around her waist. She pushed the arm away and crawled onto the shore, coughing and gagging. The scent of blood filled her nose. She narrowly resisted throwing up as she rested her head on her arms, closing her eyes and trying not to relive what had just happened. Somewhere in her confusion she heard Charonโs voice saying:
โSomeone help me get this back on land.โ
It felt like hours passed before Rem lifted her head and sat up, though in reality it was only a few seconds. She watched with a dazed look in her eyes as Charon pulled the body of Circe onto the bank. Perseus was close behind, a bloodied chakram in one hand. Rem looked away. She couldnโt bring herself to look at the body for more than a fleeting glance. She couldnโt look at Perseus, who she knew had done the deed. You owe him your life. This was a thought she was unprepared to deal with. Instead she stared at the sky and tested the aching edges of her lungs with more air.
Eventually she stood and walked back up the hill. She would wait for the others up there, somewhere where she could no longer smell blood.
Jett was standing near the cornucopia with his arms crossed over his belly. He offered her a cautious, โAre you okay?โ
To which Rem quickly replied, โYep.โ She leaned against the metal structure and placed her hands on her knees. โI just need to catch my breath,โ she said reassuringly. She didnโt know why she was reassuring him. Her voice cracked as she added, โWe need to get out of here.โ There was a slight stain of pink on her knuckles.
โWe need to get out of here,โ she repeated more firmly.

kaus.
Kaus was alerted by the sound of something falling onto the forest floor. He looked up, a bit spooked, only to see the girl from seven perched in the branches of a nearby tree. She was emptying the contents of her own bag--mimicking his own behavior. An image of his sister flashed through his brain. He stood, fingering the heavy flashlight in his palm. But he knew she was no threat to him now. She was unarmed.
"I think I forgot your name, Nine, would you mind reminding me of what it is?" inquired the girl, who apparently was aware of his gaze on her.
Kaus tossed the flashlight to the ground in a show of trust. Then he stated guardedly, โNine is good enough. And Iโll call you Seven if thatโs alright.โ He did not explain his reasoning. If she was smart enough, she would guess it herself. If she was very smart, she would know to trust him for now, but that his loyalty had a short expiration date. It was this expiration date which made him resistant to the idea of learning names. Attachment in the Hunger Games was a terrible idea.
Kaus crossed his arms over his chest. His dark blue eyes scanned the surrounding clearing before he remarked, โWell, this is as good a place to camp as any. You donโt happen to have a tent, do you? If not, we should get started on a shelter.โ He gestured to a nearby pine and stated, โWe could make a lean-to over there. The low branches can be woven together to make some kind of roof.โ
Then he looked back at the girl, awaiting her input as if he were a construction worker consulting a colleague. Kaus was not one for pleasantries; he was all business. It was simpler that way. This girl had appeared out of nowhere, and she was from an outer district. He took that to mean that they were allies for now, and least until it suited him to get rid of her.

[ Okay I haven't heard anything further about Redfleck 's friend joining. Is it safe to assume that the rest are the slots can be filled by NPCs? I'm not going to put much effort into them. I'll just give them names and a short description so that anyone can use them for whatever the plot needs. We have six slots left. I can either make half of them top 12 or three people can upgrade their losing character to a top character. Just let me know pretty soon so we can all have that in mind. Once we have names in all of the slots, I can actually do the drawing to figure out the order of the top twelve. ]

(My first posts are coming. Government delayed me somewhat. For those of you who like to plan ahead, both of my characters will have demonstrated at an undescribed going to be more or less cautiously receptive to the outliers.
I think you should do with the NPCs what we're doing with my characters.)
