Ascendants - - - β
A Notice We are currently closed... If you are interested in joining, leave a like on the thread and if/when we open for new waves we'll potentially reach out.
Ascendants is a very unique world, and sometimes what people envision for their characters won't always make the cut here. We can very selective on who joins, and that's not a judgement of you. We just want to ensure that the people we bring in are going to fit into this storyline well.
What's notable for this is that we are a rather close nit group, that's not to say that new people are unwelcome, but it should be noted that we expect people who are invested in the storyline, and are able to meet the writing requirements. Additionally, note that until you can prove activity, your character amount and your characters' roles will be limited. Don't expect to join and have plots center around your character. Don't expect to join and immediately get involved in big plots. We plan some of our stuff, not completely planned, but so we have a general idea of where we're going.
Even still, if you're interested to join, please do let us know. You can comment on here and like the thread, talk to us a bit and such, we won't mind. But please don't just assume you'll be accepted in on special circumstances.

The Basics - - - β
Welcome
Welcome to Ascendants! I, along with my co-creators of this RP Leo and Ζ€Ξ±ΖΖΞ±Ρ β§ , are glad to see that youβve stumbled upon this page!
Ascendants is an RP that will follow the evolving personalities and rivalries that will occur between the selected characters. The idea of this RP is rather simple. Young adults and teens who live rather troubling lives find themselves becoming extraordinary guardians of Earth, while some others find themselves being selected to attack these new guardians. These kids are selected by deities from several mythologies, based on skills they may lack. For example, an Ares kid may fear war and be cowardly at first. This, of course, doesnβt have to be the case with every character. Regardless, the characters are selected by figures in mythology to be guardians or to be villains.
The mythologies have been limited to Egyptian mythology, Greek mythology, and Norse mythology. This has been done because these three mythologies present plenty of storyline and character ideas. It should also be noted that an Ascendant, who is an embodiment of the deity that chose them, is not just limited to being selected by Gods or Goddesses, per se. If someone wanted to, they can create an Ascendant for another character in Mythology. It should also be noted that this isnβt just selective to characters in mythology who never died in tales. Living or dead, as long as they appear in a mythological tale, and carry some important, you can use them!
Several things go into joining Ascendants, as they are called. These include the Choosing (how these children meet their Guides), being Champions (What it means to be a Chosen under a deity, and for them to be your guide), and the Exiled (The group of Ascendants who have been selected either by untrustworthy Gods or children who refuse to join the Ascendants). However, on a basic note, all who join the Ascendants live together in a large mansion, often dubbed The Pantheon. For more information on all of these subjects, check out those sections!
The Choosing
The Choosing occurs when a Deity or Guide decides upon a Champion. This Champion is usually someone lacking in skills, such as bravery, confidence, or another closely related topic to that deity. For example, certain characters like Luka, the champion of Loki, never broke the rules and often were too serious. She was selected on this basis, as it made for room to grow. Of course, this doesn't have to be the case with each Champion/Ascendant!
The action of being chosen usually includes a strange meeting to the possible child by the deity, taking the form of a mortal. In this way, they can interact as a daily person with potential Champions, and select who they want to be their Champion. To choose the child, they hand over their powers, and teleport the Champion to the Pantheon, where the Champions will meet other chosen children, find their living quarters, and train as Ascendants.
To be chosen, certain criteria are typically met, these are as follows:
- Poor home life: The selected mortal to be Chosen is likely to be one who won't be overly missed. This is important, as too many children going missing at once will draw attention, but also because that means the child has less to lose by becoming an Ascendant. Typically, these would include children who are never paid attention to, abused, orphaned, mistreated, or any number of things. This doesn't always have to be the case, but is a typical thing among the Ascendants. There is less to leave behind, and less attention brought to the group of Ascendants. This isn't, however, always the case with the Exiles.
- Skill: Another important factor in choosing a Champion is the skills that child has. Often, children are selected over having a strong skill aligned with the god, or on the flip side, completely lacking the skills aligned with that Myth. This is important, as less connections can be drawn between the Chosen and the god they embody. This also allows for humor to deities, and personal growth with the Champions.
- Age: All Ascendants that will go to live in the Pantheon are usually teens and young adults. These are strong and able people, and often those some deities take pity on due to poor living conditions. They are also less likely to be noticed, sadly, if they come up missing.
Being a Champion
Being a Champion is the same as being an Ascendant. Both names are used for the Chosen children of the Myths. Champions can come from several Mythologies, including Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythologies.
Being a Champion is not as complicated as some may believe. While they are meant to be guides, only some Champions are selected for missions. However, newer Champions often spend the first few months honing their abilities and getting to know their fellow Ascendants.
Ascendants are embodiments of Myths and Deities, those who selected them become Guides. Guides are, essentially, voices or mirages that will appear to only the specific Chosen. Ascendants live in their own living quarters within the Pantheon, and usually must choose how to live on a day to day basis.
Since they are all young, the Ascendants have set a leadership into place. All Ascendants vote on 5 Champions to lead the Pantheon. If a Leader steps down or is not fit to lead any longer for any reason, new leaders are voted upon. To see more about Leadership of the Ascendants, check out Leadership on the Pantheon post.
The Exiles
The Exiles include either Myths or Deities who has returned, or who have selected Champions to carry out selfish and perhaps villainous tasks. They choose not to preside in the Pantheon, and usually have a plan to Possess or take control of the bodies of their Champions after the missions and goals are complete. This is often not known by the Exiled Ascendants.
Some Ascendants choose to be exiles on their own, ignoring the words of their guides or betraying the other Ascendants.
The Exiles usually either work in small groups, releasing terrors to gain power, or will work alone, depending on who the Exile is and how much power they already have. They tend to be merciless and power hungry. They are dangerous, and are the main reason the Ascendants have been chosen.

The Pantheon - - - β
Overview
The Pantheon is the mansion that all Ascendants share, excluding the Exiles. The Pantheon, in the realm of reality, outwardly appears as an academy and library. However, the doors are portals to the much larger Pantheon, which is located, technically, outside of reality.
Every Champion get's their own rooms, multiple rooms, much larger than they likely need. There's nothing prohibiting them from staying with friends, however. It's more of a chaotic mess, which lacks in proper established rules. Then again, rules are for leaders to worry about. To check this out, keep reading on the the Leadership section!
In regards to the Pantheon, it's the place every Champion spawns at after being chosen. Sometimes, the manner in which they arrive can be painful. Often times, small teleportals can be used by the Ascendants to gain access back to the Pantheon.
Every Ascendant, for the reasons aforementioned, have some type of object that acts as a key to the Pantheon and will activate the portals. While magic alone can be used to identify the Champions, Thoth, Athena, and the other archetypes of the Pantheon have established the keys as security. Losing the key is a very stupid, very dumb thing an Ascendant should never do, but then again, stupid and dumb is expected when kidnapping children into another realm. So there's backup plans.
Rooms The room an Ascendant gets is built with their deity in mind, but can usually be altered rather easily. It's magic, after all, and surely the gods don't want their Champions to be unhappy. For this reason, the coding to the rooms can be altered, but usually should be avoided. No one wants to offend their guides, after all.
Rooms are large, spacious, and often will fit anything an Ascendant wants or needs. Usually, their rather soundproofed and high security, as many of the Champions are young, and new with their powers. No one wants the Pantheon filled with constant breaking due to a Heracles kid dealing with super strength, and on the flip, no one wants it burnt down due to a Loki kid.
Most rooms are selectively open to a specific Ascendant, unless they change the room modifications to allow unsupervised entrance by another Champion. Sometimes, however, flukes will appear where shapeshifters, or the smarter kids, like Athena's or Thoth's Champions can get in still. Just in case, it's always best to maybe get a physical lock if you want to prevent someone from jump scaring you.
----- Apollo Lucien's room: Emblem of a Golden Harp (From Ζ€Ξ±ΖΖΞ±Ρ β§ )
The room was pretty good; Apollo had clearly made an effort to try and decorate it to both Lucien and Apolloβs tastes. The wallpaper was a matte black colour, but when the light hit it it revealed a pattern of suns. The colour scheme in general seemed to be black and gold. Lucien couldnβt say he was a particular fan of gold, but hey, this was Apolloβs room too and Lucien was aware that putting black in the room had probably physically pained the god. In general it was simple, without too much pattern.
It had everything Lucien needed; bookshelves, a desk. There was a beautiful skylight on the ceiling, which he imagined was something Apollo had specifically wanted. The books on the shelves were clearly chosen by Apollo too; a lot of them were about poetry, music, medicine. But there were also some more normal books there, a lot of classic authors. Lucien didnβt read much, but they looked like good books. Apollo had even decorated the place with some posters and stuff.
Lucien noticed a bow and quiver of arrows displayed carefully in one corner of the room. Both seemed to be made of a rich, dark wood, and the feathers of the arrows were golden in colour. There was no target in here, of course, and Lucien didnβt know how to fire a bow and arrow. But he imagined in a place like this there had to be a training room, and heβd learn how to fire a bow and arrow somehow.
But what pleased the seventeen-year-old more than anything was the guitar that sat on a stand next to the wardrobe. Lucien had found an old battered guitar when he was around twelve years old and heβd patched it up himself so it still kind of worked. It hadnβt been that damaged, anyway, and it had been a way for Lucien to learn an instrument without spending the money to buy one. It had lasted all this time afterwards, and now Apollo had brought that very same guitar from Lucienβs house.
----- Loki Luka's room: Emblem of the Snake (From πππππ π¨ )
That alone spooked her. Regardless, the door opened to ease, giving way to a strange sight. Some darkened vines, it seemed, climbed up the walls in deliberate manners, leading to hedges and all kinds of comfortable niches. It almost seemed more like a giant cat-tree more than it did a room. It had a bed, of course, that seemed to have blue and red sheets that seemed to have the vinelike details. All in all, it reminded Luka much of Mount Gambien and much larger than any room she had ever had the ability to live in. There was even a large window, higher up near the ceiling, that had blankets all nestled about.
She was gaping, she was sure, so she pondered over towards a desk in the other corner of the room, where a strange firepit was, with flames coming to life, giving off an alluring glow. It was honestly horrifying and yet oddly serene, especially with the overall darkness the room had, only with a small amount of lighting, and yet, she could see so well.
Her hands skimmed the contents on the desk. Her bag was there, with the journals inside, though it wasn't as striking as the black umbrella that lay beside it. She gingerly picked it up, noticing the odd green snake designs it bore on the handle.
Services
While every Champion can technically fend for themselves, the Pantheon has many nice features as well. While the food is technically made from nether, it still is food. However, sometimes Champions just decide to order take-out instead. Anything works.
As for cleaning, showers, and other such. Many utilities are specific to each room, however some are shares with other deities near the same wing. Not due to an issue with space, there's technically infinite space. Instead, it's an underhanded way to force the Ascendants to actually interact with one another.
Along with some services being shared, it's expected for Champions to train together, have meetings with one another, and do missions together. Sometimes this is selected by their guides, but sometimes it's selected by the Leaders of the Ascendants instead.
Leadership
Current Leaders of the Pantheon: Luka Ravana: Champion of Loki Clementine Lester: Champion of Ma'at River Gellis: Champion of Ares Naida Hollick: Champion of RΓ‘n Irene Asghar: Champion of Zeus Dillon Fillery: Champion of Hera Lucien Fairfax: Champion of Apollo
Nominations for Leaders:
River nominated by Laurie, πππππ π¨ Naida nominated by Echo, Chiara, Irene, Jason Luka nominated by Lucien Clementine nominated by Dillon, Nariku The Avaricious Irene nominated by Clementine Dillon nominated by Pascal, Naida Theo nominated by Theo Lucien nominated by Lorenzo, Leo Guinevere nominated by Griffin Griffen nominated by Guinevere Chiara nominated by Ariella, Luka Laurie nominated by River Jason nominated by Ζ€Ξ±ΖΖΞ±Ρ β§
Voting and Selection:
To become a Leader, one really has no say in doing it. The process is done by others. Members of the Ascendants can nominate as many Champions as they like, but have to give compelling reasons for possible leadership. During the meeting, each Champion will be allowed to select three people who they think should be leaders. The five who have the most amount of votes will be leaders.
NOTE: To do this in the RP, we ask that you select leaders based on relationships and preferences of your characters and not yourself, we also ask that you avoid voting all for your characters, and if possible, don't have your characters vote for your other characters more than maybe once or twice. Only a max of 2 characters per person can be leaders, so if you have 3 characters who get a lot of votes, whoever has the least will not be a leader, and instead the next highest vote will be selected. Impeachment:
In the case that a leader is unfavorable to the group, or can no longer serve as a leader, they can choose to step down, or during a meeting, Champions can choose to vote them out as a Leader. This is a similar case for possible Exiles or other issues that may come up.
If a spot opens up for leadership, a meeting will take place, instead of 5, however, only the open number of slots will be voted on. In these cases, each Champion would select 1 nominee for leader.

The Mythologies - - - β
Greek Pantheon
NB: These do not under any circumstances include all of the deities/mythological figures in the Greek pantheon. For ease this section only includes the main Olympian deities (plus Hades, who resided in the underworld) and any other deities or mythological figures that have been claimed as guides. Please go ahead and be creative with your character choices including minor deities, primordial deities or mythological figures! Also feel free to request for Ζ€Ξ±ΖΖΞ±Ρ β§ to add any deities/mythological figures you would like included or to elaborate on any of the myths mentioned in this section. Furthermore, if you have hear different stories to any of these myths, that does not mean this is wrong; myths are told differently by different authors.
Zeus: King of the Gods. God of the sky, thunder, law and justice. Husband (and little brother) of Hera. He is also the younger brother of Hades, Poseidon, Hestia and Demeter. Father of pretty much all of the Olympian gods via various consorts. Also the father of mythological figures including Heracles and Helen of Troy. Well-known for his infidelity and ability to shapeshift. Overthrew his father Kronos with the help of his mother Rhea and his siblings and drew lots with his brothers to determine which part of nature they would rule over - Zeus got arguably the best lot. Symbols include the eagle, the bull and (his favoured weapon) the thunderbolt. NOTE: ZEUS ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Hera: The Queen of the Gods and the wife of Zeus. Older sister of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon and younger sister of Hestia and Demeter. Mother of Ares, Hebe and Hephaestus among others. Hera is the goddess of marriage, children, childbirth and the family. Well-known for her jealousy and vengeful nature when it comes to her unfaithful husband, and his lovers and illegitimate children; famed for causing the Madness of Heracles. Also, alongside Aphrodite and Athena, one of the three goddesses who forced Paris to choose which of them was most beautiful in the Judgement of Paris. Her symbols include the peacock feathers (due to the myth of Io), the diadem and the sceptre. NOTE: HERA ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Poseidon: God of the sea, earthquakes and storms. Younger brother of Hestia, Demeter, Hera and Hades but the older brother of Zeus. He had various consorts, including Aphrodite and Demeter. Father of such mythological figures as Theseus, Triton, Polyphemus, Orion and Atlas among others. After their birth he and his brothers Zeus and Hades drew lots as to which of them would rule over which parts of nature; Poseidon got the ocean. He appears in such myths as the founding of Athens, where he competed with Athena for the privilege of being the patron god of the city and lost. Also famed for his role in the Odyssey, where after Odysseus blinded his son Polyphemus, Poseidon caused storms which prevented Odysseus from returning home. Symbols include the dolphin, horse and (his favoured weapon) the trident. NOTE: POSEIODON HAS A CHAMPION
Demeter: Goddess of the harvest, agriculture and fertility. Her rage causes famine. Older sister to Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus but younger sister to Hestia. She had three consorts; Iasion, Zeus and Poseidon. She is the mother of Persephone and (possibly) Dionysus, among others. Demeter is known for her part in the tale of Persephone and Hades, searching tirelessly for her daughter after she was abducted by Hades (or willingly went to the underworld, depending on which myth you read) and filled with grief. Her symbols include the torch, the cornucopia and wheat.
Hestia: Goddess of the hearth, domesticity and the home. The oldest child of Kronos and Rhea; older sister of Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. Rejected the marriage suits of Poseidon and Apollo, choosing to remain a virgin. She became, according to Homer, an opposite force to Aphrodite. There is some argument as to whether it is her or Dionysus who is the twelfth Olympian god, but both have been included in this list for completeness. Her symbol is the hearth.
Hades: God of the Underworld and the dead. Not considered one of the Olympian gods as he resides in the Underworld. Fifth child of Kronos and Rhea; younger brother of Hestia, Demeter, Hera but older brother of Poseidon and Zeus. Husband of Persephone. His children include Macaria, Melinoe and the Erinyes. After their birth and the overthrow of their Titan parents, he drew lots with his younger brothers as to the part of nature they would rule. Hades got arguably the worst lot. Famous for the abduction of Persephone. Hades hates those who try to cheat death, and he spends so much time in the underworld he cares little for the world of the living. His symbols include keys, the serpent, the cornucopia and the chariot. NOTE: HADES ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Athena: goddess of wisdom, battle strategy and weaving. The daughter of Zeus and (possibly) Metis, she was famously born from Zeusβ head. She appears in many Greek myths; for example, she won the competition with Poseidon for Athens. She also aided many heroes, including Perseus, Odysseus, Jason and Heracles. Athena was also, alongside Hera and Aphrodite, one of the three goddesses involved in the Judgement of Paris. In several myths she is seen transforming people; she is famous for transforming Arachne into a spider, and Ovid claims she transformed Medusa into a gorgon. Her symbols include owls, olive trees, the spear and the Aegis (the shield carried by both her and Zeus.) NOTE: ATHENA ALREADY HAD A CHAMPION
Apollo - god of the sun, healing, poetry, music, prophecy, archery and other things. Heβs a true Renaissance god and was the national divinity of the Greeks. The son of Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis. Has many children including Asclepius, Menelaus, Hector and both Orpheus and Eurydice. Also the only Olympic god not to sleep with Aphrodite so, good for him I guess. He is famous as the deity of the Delphic oracle. Famous alongside his sister for the deaths of the Niobids, and he is also famed for his part in the Trojan War. He has a very long and complex mythology, for which this small section does not have space. His symbols include the lyre, the laurel wreath, and the bow and arrows. NOTE: APOLLO ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Artemis: the goddess of the moon, the hunt, wild animals and chastity. The protector of young women. Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and is the twin sister of Apollo, the birth of whom Artemis was said to have helped with. She was known to have been a virgin goddess, but may have had her heart won by her hunting companion, Orion. She appears in many myths; in some myths she was responsible for the death of Aphroditeβs favourite, Adonis (either for punishment for his boasting that he was a better hunter than Artemis or out of revenge for Aphrodite killing Hippolytus, a favourite of Artemis). In another myth she, alongside her brother, killed the Niobids. She was also involved in the Trojan War. Her symbols include the bow and arrow, the moon and the deer. NOTE: ARTEMIS ALREADY HAD A CHAMPION
Ares: The god of war. He is the son of Zeus and Hera. He had several consorts, including Aphrodite, and is the father of Phobos, Deimos and the Amazons among others. He famously was involved in an affair with Aphrodite, who was married to Hephaestus, and the two of them snared in a fine net Hephaestus had made. He was considered very dangerous, and the other gods were wary of him due to his insatiable thirst for blood and love of war. He was, of course, involved in the Trojan War. He is certainly a force to be reckoned with, despite the fact that he appears little in myth. His symbols include the sword, spear, shield and helmet. NOTE: ARES ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Aphrodite: goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, passion and sexuality. In the Iliad she is the daughter of Zeus and Dione, but in the Theogony she is born from the flesh of Ouranos (gotta keep it PG for the forums, folks) and arose from the sea, which would make her one of the most ancient goddesses. She has many consorts, including Ares, Dionysus, Hermes and Poseidon but she is the wife of Hephaestus. She is the mother of Demios, Phobos and Aeneas, among others. She is heavily associated with both Cythera and Cyprus as both claim to be the place of her birth. She appears in many myths; she is caught by Hephaestus in her extramarital affair with Ares, she is the lover of Adonis who is gored by a wild boar. In some myths she is tasked with making Pandora beautiful, and she also aided Hippomenes in his quest to marry Atalanta. She is a formidable enemy to anger though, killing Artemisβ favoured Hippolytus for worshipping Artemis (thus pledging himself to chastity) and not Aphrodite. She is also one of the three goddesses involved in the Judgement of Paris. Her symbols include the rose, the scallop shell, the dove, myrtle and the dolphin. NOTE: APHRODITE ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Hermes: the messenger of the gods and the guider of souls to the underworld. God of roads, merchants, commerce and travellers. He is the son of Zeus and Maia. Hermes has several consorts including Merope and Aphrodite, and is the father of Autolycus, Evander and Pan among others. Hermes is the one who provided Pandora with lies, trickery and a seductive character. He is known as the βdivine tricksterβ of the Greek pantheon, with one of his most prominent tales being that where he steals the sacred cattle of Apollo and invents the music godβs famous lyre. His symbols are the lyre, tortoise, caduceus and winged helmet. NOTE: HERMES ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Hephaestus: The god of metalworking, fire, blacksmiths, craftsmen and volcanoes. The son of either Zeus and Hera or Hera alone. He is the husband of Aphrodite. He was yeeted thrown from Mt Olympus by Hera because of his shrivelled foot, or by Zeus because he tried to protect Hera from Zeusβ advances. He was eventually fetched by a drunk Dionysus to return to Olympus. He appears in several myths, including the one where he catches Ares and Aphrodite in their affair. He is known for creating Pandora on the orders of Zeus. Alongside Athena, he is said to have taught humans the arts. His symbols include the anvil, the hammer, and tongs. NOTE: HEPHAESTUS ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Dionysus: The god of wine, ritual madness, the vine, theatre and fertility. He is the son of Zeus and (depending on the myth) either Demeter, Semele or Persephone. His consort is Ariadne but had many lovers including Aphrodite. He is known as the youngest of the gods. Dionysus appears in several myths. Hera tried to kill him several times (as she makes a habit of with Zeusβ illegitimate children (including Artemis and Apollo), quelle surprise) as an infant but he is rescued by Hermes. Dionysus spent time among mortals (as did Apollo), and even went into Hades to rescue his mother. He is also the one who gave Midas his golden touch, and the one who returned Hephaestus to Olympus, and he married Ariadne after finding her abandoned by Theseus on Naxos. His symbols include the thyrsus, the grapevine and the goat. NOTE: DIONYSUS ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Helios: A titan and the god and personification of the sun. He is the son of Hyperion and Theia and has two sisters, Eos (Dawn) and Selene (Moon). He and his sisters drive their chariots across the sky, bringing day, night and dawn. He has many consorts including Clymene and Perse, and he is the father of many children including Circe and Pasiphae. A story for which Helios is famous is that in which his son Phaethon attempts to drive his chariot but loses control and almost crashed into the earth. Zeus had to kill him with a lightning bolt to prevent the destruction of humans and the earth. His symbols include the chariot and horses. NOTE: HELIOS ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Achilles - Not a god but a major figure in Greek mythology. He was a hero of the Trojan war and considered the greatest of the Greek warriors; he is the centre of the story of the Iliad. He was the son of the sea-nymph Thetis and the king of Phthia, Peleus. He is famed for having been dipped in the river Styx by his mother Thetis in an attempt to make him immortal, but she was holding him by the ankle and thus that part remained vulnerable. He killed the great Trojan prince and warrior Hector at Troy but was later killed by Paris, who shot him with an arrow in his ankle. NOTE: ACHILLES ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Heracles - Not a god but a major figure in Greek mythology. He was the son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmene. Heracles was born Alcaeus/Alcides and had a mortal twin brother named Iphicles. Heraclesβs divine parentage was revealed when Hera sent a snake to kill him and the baby Heracles killed it. Hera had tried to prevent Heraclesβ birth, and her hatred of Heracles caused his parents to rename him in an effort to please the goddess. This did not appease Hera, and she caused the adult Hercules to go mad and kill his first wife, Megara and his children. Heracles is most famous for performing the Twelve Labours in order to please Hera, and also for being one of the Argonauts. He is usually depicted wearing lionskin and holding a club. NOTE: HERACLES ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Ceto: Ceto is a primordial sea goddess. She is the daughter of Pontus and Gaia and the husband of Phorcys. She is most famous for being the mother and grandmother of a great number of monsters in Greek mythology. She is the mother of the Gorgons, the Sirens, Ladon, Echidna and almost all sea monsters. She is the grandmother of Cerberus, the Lernaean Hydra, the Chimera, the Sphinx, the Nemean Lion, the eagle that eats Prometheusβ liver, and possibly Scylla. NOTE: CETO ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION - HER ASCENDANT IS AN EXILED
Gaea - NOTE: GAEA ALREADY HAD A CHAMPION - HER ASCENDANT IS AN EXILED
Hecate - NOTE: HECATE ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Norse Γsir
NB: These do not under any circumstances include all of the deities/mythological figures in the Norse Γsir. For ease this section only includes the main deities and any other deities or mythological figures that have been claimed as guides. Please go ahead and be creative with your character choices including minor deities, primordial deities or mythological figures! Also feel free to request for Leo to add any deities/mythological figures you would like included or to elaborate on any of the myths mentioned in this section. Furthermore, if you have hear different stories to any of these myths, that does not mean this is wrong; myths are told differently by different authors.
Odin: The Allfather and king of the Γsir. Odin is constantly roaming the world disguised as a wanderer seeking knowledge. He leads a tribe of divine warriors, but identifies more with outcasts. He is a god of war, but also of poetry and wisdom. He is represented by his two Ravens, Hugin and Munin (thought and memory). Odin's Banquet hall, Valhalla, is seen as the ideal afterlife and also where Odin brought warriors to prepare for Ragnarok. Husband of Frigga and father of Balder and Thor. Fated to be killed by the large wolf Fenrir on Ragnarok. NOTE: ODIN ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION, ODIN'S CHAMPION IS AN EXILE
Frigga: The Queen of the Γsir, wife of Odin, the Goddess of love and fertility, and the patron of marriage and motherhood. Mother of Balder. She has a reputation of knowing every person's destiny, but never unveils it. Attempted to prevent her son's death by extracting oaths from every object in nature. However, she forgot mistletoe and suffered the loss of her son.
Balder: Son of Odin and Frigga, brother of Thor. A god of beauty, light, joy, purity, innocence, and reconciliation. He was loved both by the gods and by humans for he was friendly and wise. As Frigga had visions about her son's death, she removed Oaths from objects, animals, etc. All in an effort to save his life. However, she forgot mistletoe which the jealous trickster Loki used against him. Balder remains in the world of the Underworld waiting for Ragnarok so he can be reborn. NOTE: BALDER ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Heimdallr: The god of light and the guardian of the bifrost bridge. Heimdall's sole dutyis to prevent the giants from forcing their way into Asgard. He requires less sleep than a bird and can see a hundred miles around him both day and night. His hearing so so good he can hear grass grow. He is fated to kill his age old enemy Loki and die from the wounds he suffered. NOTE: HEIMDALLR ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Loki: Son of the giant Farbauti and the giantess Laufey, he is considered one of the Γsir but occasionally their enemy. Husband to Sigyn, and father of three monsters (Fenrir, Hel, and JΓΆrmungandr). Commonly known as the trickster god, Loki can shape shift into different forms, is craft, and malicious. He killed Balder out of jealousy and is fated to die by Heimdallr during Ragnarok. NOTE: LOKI ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
RΓ‘n: Wife of Aegir, Giantess, mother of nine daughters (each representing a wave in the ocean), and goddess and personification of the sea. While her husband is the positive personification of the ocean, RΓ‘n is the negative and sinister one. She is often described as dragging seafaring people below the ocean depths, drowning them and taking them to her underwater abode. She is commonly depicted with a fishing net. NOTE: RΓN ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Thor: Son of Odin and Jord and easily one of the most powerful gods of the Γsir. Married to Sif and father of Magni, Modi, and Thrud. A god of Thunder and a fierce warrior who was favored to protect both the gods and the humans. Thor's popularity surpassed his father, Odin, do to not needing human sacrifices as tribute. During Ragnarok, Thor will fight and kill the giant serpent, JΓΆrmungandr. But in doing so he will die from his own inflicted wounds. NOTE: THOR ALREADY HAS A CHAMPIONb
Tyr: The original germanic god of war and the patron god of justice, the precursor of Odin. He is the oldest of the gods and inspires Courage and heroism in battle. He is represented as a man with one hand because the gigantic wolf Fenrir gnawed off his right hand. His attribute is the spear, a weapon and symbol of justice. During Ragnarok, Tyr will fight and kill the Guardian hound of Hell, Garm, but die of his inflicted wounds. NOTE: TYR HAS HAD A PAST CHAMPION, THOUGH ANOTHER MAY BE SELECTED IF PLOT DEMANDS.
Fenrir: The Giant wolf, son of Loki and the giantess Angrboda, and brother to the goddess Hel and the serpent JΓΆrmungandr. Raised under the care of the Γsir in order to train him not to wreak havoc on the world. However, he grew too quickly and the gods decided it was best to chain him. With two unsuccessful tries, the gods tried the thrid time with the help of the gods. As the wolf was bound, Fenrir bit off Tyr's hand after asking the god stick his hand in his mouth. During Ragnarok, Fenrir will break free of his holds, devour everything in his path, kill Odin, and die by the hands of one of Odin's sons. NOTE: FENRIR IS HIS OWN CHAMPION AND HAS BEEN CLAIMED
Egyptian kingdom
NB: These do not under any circumstances include all of the deities/mythological figures in the Egyptian pantheon. For ease this section only includes the major deities and any other deities or mythological figures that have been claimed as guides. Please go ahead and be creative with your character choices including minor deities, primordial deities or mythological figures! Also feel free to request for πππππ π¨ to add any deities/mythological figures you would like included or to elaborate on any of the myths mentioned in this section. Furthermore, if you have hear different stories to any of these myths, that does not mean this is wrong; myths are told differently by different authors.
Amun: God of the Sun and Air. A part of the fusion deity Amun-Ra, Amun is a widely recognized figure in the Egyptian Pantheon. The counterpart to his wife, Amunet. However, he had many consorts, including Wosret and later Mut. With the 11th Dynasty, Amun took Montu's place as the patron deity of Thebes. He is often titled The Hidden One. When Thebes became the capitol of Egypt in later Dynasties, Amun was seen as a patron deity to poor and less fortunate. Often, Amun is symbolized by a Ram.
Mut: The mother goddess, goddess of the sky, and queen of goddesses. She is another patron goddess of Thebes, and a consort of Amun. Her name means Mother and is associated with the primordial water of Nu. She is considered a primal deity. She and Amun had a son, Khonsu. Often, Mut is symbolized by an ankh, united crown, cat, cobra, cow, vulture, or lioness.
Khonsu: God of the moon. He is the son of Amun and Mut, and together with his parents he is part of the Theban Triad. Khonsu's name means Traveller for the moon's travel across the night sky. He is also a creator, and often aids with protection and healing. He is symbolized by childhood, mummies, the moon, and eagles. NOTE: KHONSU ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION.
Ra: God of the sun, kings, and order. Ra is the sun in Egyptian mythology, and by being such, he is a creator of life and warmth. He's seen as the king of gods and the great creator as well. Ra's offspring include: Shu, Tefnut, Hathor, Sekhment, Satet, Bastet, Anhur, and Ma'at. His wife is often credited as being Hathor. He is symbolized by the sun.
Osiris: God of death, afterlife, fertility, and life. Osiris is the son of Geb and Nut, and the brother of Isis, Set, and Nephthys. His brother, Set had killed him, however his wife, Isis, had revived him using a spell and had become pregnant with Horus, his son. He is symbolized by the atef crown, crook and flail, mummies, and in some cases a ram.
Isis: Goddess of good fortune, kingship, and magic. She was also considered a protector of the kingdom. She is one of the Ennead of Heliopolis, like her siblings. She was Osiris' consort and queen, and the sibling to Osiris, Nephthys, and Set. After temporarily reviving Osiris after he was killed by set, by using a spell, Isis bore his child, Horus. Using her magic, she hid and protected Horus. She is symbolized by the tyet.
Horus: God of kingship and the sky. His parents are Isis and Osiris, and he is his father's heir. Due to being the God of the sky, the moon and sun are often depicted as his eyes. In a fight to take back Egypt from his uncle, Set, Horus lost an eye. Horus' consort is Hathor, and his child is Ihy. His symbol is the Eye of Horus. NOTE: HORUS ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Thoth: God of wisdom, magic, writing, hieroglyphs, judgement, and the dead. Thoth was the scribe of the gods and is seen as the creator of hieroglyphs. Thoth helped guide both Isis and Horus many times, when Osiris was killed, and when Horus lost his eye. His consort is Ma'at, and his daughter is Seshat. His symbols include the ibis, moon disk, papyrus, writings, baboon, and scales. NOTE: THOTH ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Ma'at: Goddess of truth, balance, law, harmony, order and justice. Ma'at played a role in creation of the universe, aiding her parents Ra and Hathor. She represented the moral laws that humankind is expected to follow, and represents honesty and balance. The weighing of the heart in the afterlife is done by weighing the heart of the deceased to the feather of Ma'at. Her consort is Thoth, and her daughter is Seshat. Her symbols include scales and an ostrich feather. NOTE: MAβAT ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Set: NOTE: SET ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION, SET'S CHAMPION IS AN EXILE
Hathor:
Sekhmet: NOTE: SEKHMET ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Geb: NOTE: GEB ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION, GEB'S CHAMPION IS AN EXILE
Shu: NOTE: SHU ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION, SHU'S CHAMPION IS AN EXILE
Sobek - NOTE: SHU ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION
Anubis:
Nephthys: NOTE: NEPHTHYS ALREADY HAS A CHAMPION

NB continued: Character POVs below.
Pick Your Poison: After the break up of River and Laurie under the demands of the leaders as a whole, things have been awkward here in the Pantheon. Laurie had went into a silence, of sorts, and River himself has suffered under self-isolation. River and Naida were given a mission, though, to go check out some weird phenomenon at this old factory. Weird weather patterns or whatever. Things went wrong though, so very wrong... ~ Chiara
Vacation to Venice: Irene, Dillon, and I are heading to Venice, Italy to check out some weird phenomenon happening there. Hopefully all goes well, especially with that being my hometown and Irene having this ever so persisting issue with her guide, Zeus. ~ Lorenzo
Cheating Death: I have charted information on a girl. She is...interesting, I must say. The chosen of Hermes, though her life hangs simply by a thread. Especially after that guide of hers saved her from her certain doom... ~Styx
history NB: The Waves refer to the order in which the Ascendants spawn in the Pantheon. Usually, many appear at once, since time works different in the Pantheon, but there will be times when some more spawn. This is usually when a new member joins, their characters will spawn in the Pantheon in a new wave after the Choosing, as to avoid any possible time paradoxes. Events are not explained in their entirety, but summed up for easy understanding.
The First Wave(Pages 2-10): Luka, Echo, Lorenzo, Guinevere, Clementine, Lane, Laurie, Lucien, Chiara, Dillon, Griffin, Naida, River, Ariella, Jason, Theo, Irene, Pascal, Eydan, Sanna, Seely, Kita, Kaz, and Daniel
The First Day: The Champions were teleported to the Pantheon after being Chosen by their guides. Many arguments took place, and rivalries formed between Ascendants over the bad blood of their guides. Friendships too had been made.
Leaders: The group, despite having just met one another, have decided to vote on leaders, as they find themselves stuck. Despite it being their first day, the Ascendants have voted extremely chaotically, selecting Naida, River, Dillon, Lucien, Luka, Clementine, and Irene as their leaders.
Truth or Dare: Luka, Echo, Laurie, Lane, River, Irene, Kaz, and Daniel are night owls. After one week at the Pantheon, the crew of 8 found themselves up playing truth or dare in attempt to get to know each other.
First Encounter: Multiple members of the Pantheon have been transported into battles against a group of powerful Ascendants who have been Exiled.
- Exiled Champion of Ceto, Gwen, fought River and Lucien. The two boys worked together to survive the fight when Gwen turned into a giant monster. - Exiled Champion of Gaea, Atticus, fought Naida, Irene, and Sanna. The boy revealed that Zeus had a prior champion named Alice, Atticus' sister who died in a tragic accident. - Exiled Champion of Set, Ripley, fought Echo, Eydan, Laurie, and Daniel. He targeted Echo in order to tear down the group. - Exiled Champion of Geb, Penny, fought Lorenzo, Kaz, and Guinevere. She injured most of the group. - Exiled Champion of Styx, titled Styx herself, fought Griffin, Theodore, Seely, and Lane. She used powers of manipulation to turn the group on one another. - Fenrir, a monstrous wolf from Norse mythology, has reappeared. Fenrir fought Luka and Chiara.
News of the Missing: Media have released statements about some of the missing kids, and questions have arisen about how so many kids disappeared at once.
Battle of Breaking: A battle that took place with River and Cleo in charge. Lucien, Theo, and some other kids were in the battle as well, such as Enzo and Jason. Exiled Fenrir, Styx, and Penny were there as well. In the end, an injury to Lucien caused a lot of backlash towards River over his affections for Laurie, this lead to the Vote to Break Ties.
Vote to Break Ties: Cleo called a meeting to have the other leaders meet up and discuss River's actions during the fight. With only dissent from Lucien and Luka, the leaders as a whole decide to make River choose between his leadership and his relationship with Laurie.

Champions of the Greek Pantheon - - - β Champion of Zeus
Irene Asghar | 20 | Female | 5β10β | 140 Lbs | The Avenger Birthday: August 23rd
"I never could bear the idea of anyoneβs expecting something from me. It always made me want to do just the opposite."
Irene is a strange individual when it comes to the powers she was given. Being tasked to uphold justice when she spent most of her life ignoring such rules and institutions. Sheβs not even sure she knows what justice is actually supposed to look like.
Irene is a strong-willed and somewhat stubborn individual that isnβt afraid to speak her mind in certain situations. Sheβs rather blunt most of the time, as she dislikes lying to people or herself. If she has something on her mind, sheβd rather say it outright instead of keeping it to herself. With her recently gotten powers, sheβs mostly able to tell if people are lying to her or saying something that is dishonest. Along with that, she has a general idea of what laws are broken. She is expected to have more abilities to help her enact justice, however she has a lot to learn in that front.
Irene was chosen when she was 19, and was a part of the First Wave. She is a leader of the Pantheon.
Champion of Hera
Dillon Fillery | 18 | Male | 5β9 | 155 lbs | The Mediator Birthday: February 16th
"Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doomβ
Like his guide Hera, Dillon values trust and loyalty. While he is usually sensible, level-headed and diplomatic, disloyalty and betrayal is one thing that he cannot forgive. Though he is slow to anger, itβs a fierce and vengeful anger to incur. He has a jealous and petty streak, but he cares very deeply for those around him and has a nurturing, caring spirit. Heβs perfectly sweet most of the time. His history is as yet unknown.
Like Hera, who broke Artemisβ bow and sent the other goddess to the earth in two blows, Dillon has enhanced strength. Not to anywhere near the same extent as, for example, Ariella, but itβs there. However, Dillon must genuinely want to cause someone harm or protect someone for his patronβs strength to manifest. His other ability is cursing; if (and only if) he feels true genuine anger or desire for vengeance, he has the ability to curse another person. Or so Hera has told him; he has never yet used this ability.
Dillon was chosen when he was 18, and was a part of the First Wave. He is a leader of the Pantheon.
Champion of Hades
Pascal Costa | 23 | Male | 6β1β| 160 Lbs | The Poet Birthday: October 31st
"βTell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn. It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.β Quoth the Raven βNevermore.β "
Pascal comes off as a rather gloomy individual who has a hard time connecting to most people on a personal level. Heβs often stuck in his own head and can be rather dismissive of people around him, even if they try to help him. While he had a strange and somewhat creepy fascination with death in his early years, he has since grown past that to be completely disgusted by it. He has a huge disdain for dead things and the afterlife, as he canβt understand what the purpose of life is if people are going to die anyway. Pascal wishes it wasnβt a part of living and wishes to avoid the subject, but his status as a Champion of Hades seems to have ruined those plans.
Currently he is able to see and speak to ghosts, but thatβs about all he can do at the moment. With him unsure what heβs supposed to use his powers for, Pascal feels like thereβs a lot more he needs to learn. About his role in the world and whatβs expected of him.
Pascal was chosen when he was 22, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Apollo
Lucien Fairfax | 17 | Male | 5β10 | 160 lbs | The Rebel Birthday: March 23rd
βAnger is red danger But a familiar stranger"
Lucienβs abilities perhaps seem rather contradictory to his personality, but then so does everything about his guide, Apollo. He is the groupβs healer - healing is the main ability given to him by Apollo. However, to heal any other member of the group will result in pain for Lucien, and will drain him of energy. He cannot heal too many people at once as a result of this, as if he uses the power too much it escalates from causing Lucien simple pain to physical harm. Heβs also got enhanced accuracy (given that Apollo is an archer) but honestly itβs up to you if you think itβs advisable to trust Lucien with a weapon. Heβs hotheaded, snarky, rebellious, and hasnβt the slightest clue why Apollo chose him. Heβs sarcastic and kind of a loner. However, though Lucien isnβt the kind of person who likes to have a lot of friends, he is fiercely loyal to the friends he does make and very protective. Heβs also very principled and has a clear sense of right and wrong. He might be an asshole about it, but he usually does the right thing. His history? He keeps that to himself for the moment.
Lucien was chosen when he was 17, and was a part of the First Wave. He is a leader of the Pantheon.
Champion of Ares
River Gellis | 20 | Male | 5'10" | 160 Ibs | The Stubborn Fighter Birthday: March 23rd
"They say the end is coming and I need to prepare. We can't go to Hell if we're already there"
Cynical and sarcastic River fits just right in with his patron, Ares. Even when he wasn't winning a fight, River has never been one to surrender or back down. However, he makes it very clear to everyone including his god that he did not want this life. But, even through all that there is some kindness in him. Deep down in his soul somewhere.
River was chosen when he was 20, and was a part of the First Wave. He is a leader of the Pantheon.
Champion of Aphrodite
Guinevere Sharpe |18 | Female | 6'2" | 165Ibs | The Fairest Birthday: November 28th
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
Guinevere is a girl with vitiligo, a condition that brought her too much attention as a child. Some people simply found her interesting only due to the condition, and others shunned her for being different, including her wealthy parents, who often expected the girl to wear makeup.
Guinevere came from the small country of Seychelles, where her wealthy family owned a resort. Often overpassed and ignored, she ended up living alone. As for powers, Guinevere can sense love and affection, at least, she claims to have the ability.
Guinevere was chosen when she was 18, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Hermes
Lane Sherwin | 19 | Female | 5β7 | 130 lbs | The Runaway Birthday: December 5th
"I keep running when both my feet hurt"
Lane is a ball of energy. She is athletic and loves to run, and is also very exciteable in general. Sheβs also pretty impatient but sheβs very friendly and outgoing. Sheβs also a very optimistic person, always smiling and wearing bright colours. Sheβs also a risk-taker and a bit of adrenaline junkie. However, her biggest issue is her flighty nature; if she comes up against a problem her first instinct is to run away from it. Due to her abilities, Laneβs role in the group is not only as a fighter but also recon work, transport or acting as a messenger. Her history is as yet unknown.
Hermes gave to his champion enhanced speed; Lane is able to run very fast indeed. She is able to bring with her when she runs either one other person or one inanimate object, nothing more; she can be used as transport to some extent, therefore, but she can only move the group one at a time. Furthermore, to transport other people takes a lot of energy out of Lane. She can run at incredible speeds but she will get tired out and so her powers have to be used relatively sparingly. He has also given Lane some enhanced dexterity and so she is useful for stealth or thievery.
Lane was chosen when she was 19, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of dionysus
Laurent βLaurieβ Bevin | 21 | Male | 5β11 | 160 lbs| The Hedonist Birthday: May 7th
"If music be the food of love, play onβ
Laurent, better known as Laurie, gets on very well with his patron, Dionysus. Heβs loud, fun, rambunctious, and likes to party. He chases pleasure even if itβs at the ultimate expense of his wellbeing or involves rejecting reality. On the surface he seems egoistic, but perhaps he isnβt as selfish as he seems. If the group was a family, his role would probably be the fun uncle. He is surprisingly paternal in nature and protective of the group. His history is as yet unknown.
Laurieβs main power is affecting the mind, since Dionysus is the god of madness. He has some telepathy, but itβs very limited and Laurie doesnβt really know how to use it yet. There was also a deal made by Dionysus with the other guardians that Laurie is not able to use his telepathy on the other champions unless they are willing. He also has the ability to give people short-lived visions or cause confusion. Once again, much like hypnotism, Laurie cannot use these powers on the other champions if they are unwilling.
Laurie was chosen when he was 21, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Helios
Lorenzo Alexander | 19 | Male | 5'10" | 155Ibs | The Guiding Light Birthday: July 18th
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray"
Lorenzo is a happy-go-lucky type of guy, and is an absolute ball of happiness. Often lacking focus and also easily distracted, Lorenzo brings an overbearing about of affection and hope anywhere he goes. As some may say, they can almost see the rainbows coming out of his...well...you know.
Lorenzo gets the powers of something he enjoys quite a bit, light. Like Helios, his guide, Lorenzo can manipulate light in many ways. Despite having powers with light, Lorenzo is by far not the brightest person to ever walk the halls of the Pantheon. Despite his dreary past, he still seems to be a literal ball of sunshine.
Lorenzo was chosen when he was 18, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Achilles
Griffin Wyatt | 18 | Male | 6'10" | 190 Ibs | The Undefeated Birthday: November 4th
"We will Rock you"
Griffin was chosen because he had never lost a fist fight in his life. And he's been in plenty of them. Even though he tries to act serious and like a leader, he has about 2 braincells and is one of the sweetest guys in the house. Feel free to braid his hair whenever.
Griffin was chosen when he was 18, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Heracles
Ariella Jackson | 19 | Female | 6'5" | 130 Ibs | The Helpful one Birthday: April 21st
"Bring the Lion out"
Just like her patron, Heracles, Ariella is incredibly strong. It's been said she could easily lift a car in her hands. Ariella serves as both a fierce protector and a helpful hand with just about any task you need. However, she's not the smartest one of the group but makes up for it in her loyalty and kindness.
Ariella was chosen when she was 19, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Hephaestus
Sanna Dubois | 21 | Female | 6'0" | 180 | The Wanderer Birthday: ???
"They're invincible and she's just in the background"
Sanna has much to learn about being a part of a family. Though Hephaestus had faith he could teach her much about it. The happy-go-lucky and kind nature of the god are not reflected in Sanna. Easily annoyed and often irritated she is quiet, often dismissive, and more or less indifferent towards many things. A bit lazy it takes proding to get her to work hard on certain things. She finds difficulty attaching herself to one things, whether it's people, places, or beliefs. Her past has taught her to keep herself wary and to never put too much faith into too many things. Though slowly she has learned to trust her fellow Champions.
The iron-working and craftsmanship of Hephaestus has passed to Sanna. A skilled weapons-maker, metal-worker and fighter herself, she has put her work and trust into her Guide with those topics. Another perk of being Chosen by the ironsmith, she has seemed to gain and imperviousness to burns and flames. Which helps when she works on her own weapons and fixing pieces of the others of the Pantheon.
Sanna was chosen when she was 21, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Athena
Kita Sveyn | 19 | Female | 5'2" | 120 | The Mouse Birthday: ???
"Somebody shine a light, I'm frozen by the fear in me"
This unassuming young lady is just that. Quiet, introverted, and not one to speak up, she finds it hard to often socialize with the more boisterous and friendlier Champions. The bravery, wisdom and insight of Athena is slowly coming to her. Out of the shell of Kita, will slowly emerge someone with plenty of advice, strength and knowledge to help you through your problems. Though it takes a bit of prodding to even get her to speak to you at times. She truly wants to be able to assist more when strategizing and planning for missions, though speaking up has been something she'd been trained not to do. Kita frights easily and often needs a BIG bolstering of confidence to get her to speak her mind.
Athena has gifted her with a masterful mind though. Strategic and thoughtful, when Kita finally does speak, her plans are thorough and complete that it's no wonder she's spent so much time silent. These traits come easier when others aren't looking at her though and she still struggles to plan for mutliple outcomes. This ability to think so far ahead would make Kita a valuable asset in the field or even for training and bettering one's own abilities, if only one could get her speak her mind.
Kita was chosen when she was 19, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Hecate
Cassius (Kaz) McDermont | 21 | Male | 6'2" | 210 | The Decisive Birthday: ???
"I took the once less travelled by, and that has made all the difference"
Relaxed and often unbothered by what others think of him, Kaz is a free-spirit. He is strong-willed and goofy, often throwing caution to the wind and going for whatever he wants. The young man always acts quickly, and on his own accord, not giving second-thought to what he says or does, which has landed him in plenty of hot water in the past. Though these are his decisions and what should he care?
The goddess of crossroads and boundaries has gifted Kaz with the ability to sense who is beyond doorways and entrances. It's more of just an immediate thought of knowing who's there, not sensing or aura or knowing their "vibes". Another "gift" from Hecate that Kaz can't/hasn't gotten control over is that sometimes (not always) if he walks through doorways he'll end up in a different space. Hecate promises he will learn to control this (sometime).
Kaz was chosen when he was 21, and was a part of the First Wave.

Champions of the Norse Γsir - - - β Champion of Loki
Raluca "Luka" Ravana | 17 | Female | 5'0" | 90Ibs | The Renegade Birthday: April 1st
"I'm going to change you like a remix Then I'll raise you like a phoenix"
Luka is a trickster much like her guide, and often will be snarky and mischievous, playing pranks and other such. Along with being cunning, Luka is a good strategist and planner, and often very stubborn. She fits in like a glove at the Pantheon, and in many ways, it seems that she's quickly adapted to the changes. As for her background, Luka isn't too secretive about it, but never openly mentions it. She's from Australia and anyone near her will likely always hear the words blasted and bloody overused. Luka's abilities are similar to Loki's, her guide. She's a shapeshifter, though the ability is painful due to her being mortal, as it causes her bones to rearrange to shift. She also has abilities that deal with fire, as Loki is often considered a god of fire.
Luka was chosen when she was 17, and was a part of the First Wave. Luka is a leader of the Pantheon.
champion of Balder
Theodore βTheoβ Cross | 21 | Male | 5β8β | 142 Lbs | The Prince Birthday: July 28th
"Donβt you know? The power that a voice can have alone. To raise a fight, or calm a storm that threatens all below. "
Theo comes off as fairly charismatic and is somewhat of an enigma, since his attitude can make people think heβs more entitled than most. He comes off as rather snarky some times and is incredibly proud of his appearance. While heβs usually good at keeping his composure, heβs quick to lose his temper when people wonder about where he came from. He gets defensive when people try to ask him about it and actively avoids the subject. He tends to act vindictive and somewhat spiteful to people who had tried to ask about it. Though, heβd much rather be subtle about his attitude so people would still believe in his charismatic front.
Theo being the Champion of Balder is a strange choice, but it is assumed heβs supposed to learn about the virtues of joy, purity, and reconciliation. Especially reconciliation. His powers are unknown to even him, which he finds frustrating.
Theo was chosen when he was 20, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of RΓ‘n
Naida Hollick | 20 | Female | 5'3" | 120 Ibs | The Storm Birthday: October 5th
"It's a long way down to the bottom of the River"
A Champion of the Norse goddess of the sea, Naida feels most relaxed in or around water. She can only control, manipulate, and breath in saltwater which is why she tends to keep a pouch of it on her. Any other type of water she can't do anything with. Naida is usually calm and friendly with others but will flip in the blink of an eye to a dangerous temper. It doesn't happen often though.
Naida was chosen when she was 19, and was a part of the First Wave. Naida is a leader of the Pantheon.
champion of Heimdallr
Chiara Belcher | 19 | Female | 5β5 | 120 lbs | The Observer Birthday: August 25th
"The only problem with seeing too much is that it makes you insane"
Chiara Belcher is intelligent and articulate. She is relatively quiet, though; this isnβt out of shyness, she just prefers to observe. Chiara has a strong sense of calm and patience and doesnβt like to rush into things, being a bit of a perfectionist. When she does speak up, she tends to surprise people with her brutal honesty. She doesnβt consider it a problem if other people canβt take it when she calls it like she sees it. She is also very curious, and combined with her observant nature it often means she comes across secrets that she perhaps shouldnβt. Like Echo, Chiara also acts as a guardian of the group. Her history is as yet unknown.
Heimdallr gave her enhanced senses; she can see movement more easily and she can even see a little better in the dark. She can also hear and smell better and has heightened sense of touch and taste. Chiara does not have her patronβs foreknowledge at this point, but she does have heightened intuition and sense of danger. However, this is not 100% reliable and she cannot use her ability to βscanβ for danger. Furthermore, she can only generally sense danger; her ability is not specific enough to recognize the kind of danger it senses.
Chiara was chosen when she was 18, and was a part of the First Wave.

Champions of the Egyptian Kingdom - - β Champion of Thoth
Jason Bates | 16 | male | 5'6" | 157 Ibs | The Scholar Birthday: January 20th
"There will come a Poet, whose weapon is his word"
Jason is known to be quite a night owl, staying up and reading until he passes out. His patron god, Thoth, is a god of the moon after all. He enjoys studying different things and practicing the little magic he knows. Sometimes, things that he's read appear on his skin for a period of time. Jason is not really a fighter but he'll help you figure out the best strategies.
Jason was chosen when he was 16, and was a part of the First Wave.
champion of Ma'at
Clementine "Cleo" Lester | 21 | Non-Binary | 5'8" | 140Ibs | The Libra Birthday: September 24th
"As I balance myself around you, Feelings of belonging rush through"
Clementine is a young adult, mature for their age, and usually reserved and brutally honest. Used to constant nagging and judgement, they often judge silently, not based on looks or identity, but based on actions. Like their guide, Ma'at, Cleo represents balance and order in a very unique, often somewhat judgmental way. Not as much outwardly judgmental, and more so as someone people can rely on to weigh the actions around them.
Clementine represents order and truth. As such, one of their powers includes being able to detect lies. Cleo doesn't mention much about their past, and instead is realistic but hopeful and looks forward to the future, where they are accepted rather than disciplined for being who they are.
Cleo was chosen when they were 20, and was a part of the First Wave. Cleo is a leader of the Pantheon.
Champion of Nephthys
Echo Deirdre | 16 | Female | 5'4" | 115 Ibs | The Guardian Angel Birthday: January 5th
"Your wings already exist. All you have to do is fly"
Echo serves as a guardian to the group, she has wings that she can summon, like her Guide, Nephthys. Echo also has the ability to do magic in various forms, and can manipulate darkness. She's often cowardly and skittish.
Echo is also one of the youngest in the group, and has a hard time adjusting to the Pantheon and being a Champion. For this reason, Echo hadn't really explored her powers all that much, for she's scared of the dark and of heights.
Echo was chosen when she was 16, and was a part of the First Wave.
champion of Sekhmet
Seely Kaase | 20 | Female | 5'7" | 145 | The Powder Keg Birthday: ???
"I love to watch the castles burn, these golden ashes turn to dirt"
The happy-go-lucky and more laid-back nature of Seely shields burning desire she has to right the wrongs of the world. She comes off as a kind and gentle person, one you can talk to and one who happily assists in putting out fires or arguments within the Pantheon. A calm and level-headed individual she wouldn't quite seem the first choice for Sekhmet, the manifestation of Ra's wrath. Though that's the point right?
Beneath that surface Sekhmet chose wisely (she is a goddess of course). Seely had a growing hatred for the unjust ways of the world and the many tragedies and wrongdoings many have face. That fire manifests as Sekhmet's did in flames and wrath, in a somewhat "berserker"-eque mode. She's learned to control that anger a bit more, but the rage gets a little much sometimes. It's always helpful to have someone to calm her down when she gets a little too hot-headed.
Seely was chosen when she was 20, and was a part of the First Wave.
Champion of Horus
Eydan Ganim | 22 | Male | 6'2" | 210 | The Big Brother Birthday: ???
"I promise I'll do better, I'll soften every edge"
Goofy and fun-loving, Eydan is the type you can count on to give you a laugh when you need it. He's bold and outgoing despite his upbringing and sees the positives no matter what. This may come off as naivety but, he doesn't much care. That's his nature. He trusts and confides in others, knowing they trust in him as well. Though there still lies a bit of a selfish streak in the boy.
The wisdom and forethought that graces Horus is something that Eydan is still learning. A protector through and through, Eydan has had to learn to care for others more than just making them laugh. He can still be selfish and look only for his own gain or safety. But the role Horus chose him for was not that. Eydan is able to conjure large protective wings.
Eydan was chosen when he was 22, and was a part of the First Wave.
champion of Sobek
Daniel Morgan | 19 | Male | 6'4 | 175 lbs | The Protector Birthday: ???
You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.
Daniel is probably one of the most unpredictable people in the group which is probably why Sobek took a liking to him. He mainly follows his gut instinct, which has gotten him into a lot of trouble in the past. He's also got a very short temper so it's probably not best to rile him up. Other than that, Daniel can be a very kind and gentle person. Daniel, much like Sobek is in Egyptian mythology, is the protector of the group. Even with his more aggressive personality, he realizes that everyone there is all in the same boat so it would be best to stick together. From his god, he received enhanced strength. Due to Sobek being associated with crocodiles, Daniel got the ability to turn into a crocodile man for a limited time.
Daniel was chosen when he was 19, and was a part of the First Wave.

The Exiled - - - β
Champion of Gaea
Atticus Fell | 20 | Male | 6'2" | 170 lbs | The Emperor
"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind, to find my soul"
Fearless leader of the Exiled, as some would view him, Atticus act as if he's truly the emperor of the lost. Protecting the Exiled was his original goal, keeping them from the harms of the outside world. Eventually, however, the group adopted new members, and the goal changed.
Atticus is a vengeful man, having lost his sister, the original chosen Zeus. He seeks to put a stop to the Ascendants, and to end the loop of tragedy. Though his methods are...less than moral.
Champion of Set
Ripley Gates | 21 | Male | 6'0" | 184 Ibs | The Vengueful
"I'll Tear you apart. Make beautiful things. From pieces of you."
Ripley serves as a divider and is loyal to his patron.
Champion of Ceto
Gwen Anker | 18 | Female | 5β6 | 125 lbs | The Tempest
"An ocean without its unnamed monsters would be like a completely dreamless sleep"
Gwen Anker is not to be trifled with. Her mood has the same changeable nature as the ocean in which her patron resides; she is liable to grow suddenly stormy, and she has a terrible and destructive rage. She does not appreciate being talked down to or underestimated in any way. She also has an uncanny ability to see through people, with the exception of Ceto herself, whom Gwen trusts completely even though she probably shouldnβt. She and her patron want the same thing; power. And Gwen will do whatever she has to in order to get it. Her history is not yet known.
The abilities Ceto gave Gwen are not yet known to the Ascendants. Letβs just say that crossing the champion of this sea goddess might result in... monstrous consequences.
Champion of Seshat
June Shelley | ??? | Female | ??? | ??? | ???
"...."
Information would go here.

Echo Deirdre | 16 | Female | 5'7" | 115 Ibs | The Guardian Angel
"Your wings already exist. All you have to do is fly"
Echo serves as a guardian to the group, she has wings that she can summon, like her Guide, Nephthys. Echo also has the ability to do magic in various forms, and can manipulate darkness. She's often cowardly and skittish.

Luka: Champion of Loki
Raluca "Luka" Ravana | 17 | Female | 5'0" | 90Ibs | The Changeling
"I'm going to change you like a remix Then I'll raise you like a phoenix"
Luka is a trickster much like her guide, and often will be snarky and mischievous, playing pranks and other such. Along with being cunning, Luka is a good strategist and planner, and often very stubborn. She fits in like a glove at the Pantheon, and in many ways, it seems that she's quickly adapted to the changes. As for her background, Luka isn't too secretive about it, but never openly mentions it. She's from Australian and anyone near her will likely always hear the words blasted and bloody overused. Luka's abilities are similar to Loki's, her guide. She's a shapeshifter, though she often uses the ability for jumpscares and other silly things. She also has abilities that deal with fire, as Loki is often considered a god of fire.
Clementine: Champion of Ma'at
Clementine "Cleo" Lester | 19 | Non-Binary | 5'8" | 140Ibs | The Libra
"As I balance myself around you, Feelings of belonging rush through"
Clementine is a young adult, mature for their age, and usually reserved. Used to constant nagging and judgement, they often judge silently, not based on looks or identity, but based on actions. Like their guide, Ma'at, Cleo represents balance and order in a very unique, soft-spoken way. Not as much outwardly judgmental, and more so as someone people can rely on to weigh the actions around them.
Clementine represents order and truth. As such, one of their powers includes being able to detect lies. Cleo doesn't mention much about their past, and instead is hopeful and looks forward to the future, where they are accepted rather than disciplined for being who they are.
Lorenzo: Champion of Helios
Lorenzo Alexander | 21 | Male | 5'10" | 155Ibs | The Guiding Light
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray"
Guinevere: Champion of Aphrodite
Guinevere Sharpe| 22 | Female | 6'2" | 165Ibs | The Fairest
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
Guinevere is a girl with vitiligo, a condition that brought her too much attention as a child. Some people simply found her interesting only due to the condition, and others shunned her for being different, including her wealthy parents, who often expected the girl to wear makeup.
Guinevere came from the small country of Seychelles, where her wealthy family owned a resort. Often overpassed and ignored, she ended up living alone. As for powers, Guinevere can sense love and affection, at least, she claims to have the ability.
Champion of Styx
Lorelei "Styx" Bathory | 16/none | Female | 4'11" | 100Ibs | The Wraith
"A thousand words are left unsaid
'Cause no one listens to the dead"
Styx is an exile, who chose to make a deal with her Guide, well, Styx. Her nickname came long before, however, during her life. Always seen as a guardian of nature by those who knew and abused and killed her.
She is a wraith, who has powers of making deals which allow her to control others to a degree, and seems to be invulnerable to some things as well. Other abilities include teleportation, especially between the Underworld and the Living Realm. Her powers are mostly unknown as of now.

(Okay here are all my kids, in a spoiler for convenience)Champion of Apollo
Lucien Fairfax | 17 | Male | 5β10 | 160 lbs | The Rebel
βAnger is red danger But a familiar stranger"
Champion of Dionysus
Laurent βLaurieβ Bevin | 21 | Male | 5β11 | 160 lbs| The Hedonist
Champion of Hera
Dillon Fillery | 18 | Male | 5β9 | 155 lbs | The Mediator
Champion of Heimdallr
Chiara Belcher | 18 | Female | 5β5 | 120 lbs | The Observer
Furthermore, she can only generally sense danger; her ability is not specific enough to recognise the kind of danger it senses.
Champion of Hermes
Lane Sherwin | 19 | Female | 5β7 | 130 lbs | The Runaway

To any new joiners,
Hi! If you donβt know me my name is Pallas, but I used to be semper magis. You can call me Pal, Semper, Semp, Issi or whatever you want basically! I can often be seen around OTR. I have a great love of history and mythology, and am currently in the midst of studying archaeology (and a little bit of classics) at university, which means that this rp is pretty good for me.
Iβm by no means an expert, but I am most knowledgeable about Greek mythology, so if you have any questions about Greek myth or the Greek pantheon then be sure to ask. Iβm also happy to help with any general questions you have about the rp. You can tag me here if youβd like or if you would rather talk to me privately then donβt hesitate to PM me.
I also happen to be in a different timezone given that Iβm British, which means that Iβm available to answer your questions when Chaos and Leo might not be. So if you have a question and itβs late at night/very early in the morning Iβll probably be online! I am usually available between 1 AM and 6 PM EDT. Feel free to ask me anything.

( πππππ π¨ Okay, this is a really cool idea for a rp ^^ I'm currently in the middle of creating a champion of Ma'at, Hades, and Balder, so I wanted to ask if there any limits regarding how strong our characters can be? Since, I wanted to make sure I wouldn't end up accidentally making my characters overpowered in any way)

(Nariku The Avaricious
Hi there! I can answer your question, and I believe Chaos will be online shortly so hopefully sheβll be able to confirm my answer
First of all, unfortunately Maβatβs champion has been claimed but the front page has not yet been updated to reflect this. Iβm sorry about that! Hopefully thereβs another deity that will fit for you.
Secondly, in terms of limits for character strength, there are no explicit limits but feel free to look at the characters Iβve made (in the spoiler box a couple of posts above) in order to give you a feel for what weβre going for. In general, there isnβt a limit but we try to add enough caveats to our characterβs powers to make sure theyβre not op. Plus, I imagine over the course of the rp they will gain more confidence in their powers and perhaps even gain some new abilities. With this in mind, Iβd start off your characters a little weaker so they have room to grow.
I really hope this helps, I know itβs difficult to gauge without a specific limit. But donβt worry, weβll be happy to help make sure your characters are good to go.
Welcome to the rp! Iβm excited to meet your characters)

(Ah, thank you for telling me ^^ I'm mostly going for "Justice" gods for that specific character, so is Zeus still open then?)
(I wasn't entirely sure how strong I could make them, but I do plan on having them start off weaker since they don't yet embody the god they're supposed to represent (They have to grow into it))
(Thank you, it really helped clear things up ^^)

(Justice gods are a very good choice. Yes, Zeus is absolutely still open! He and Nemesis would both potentially make good candidates depending on what aspect of justice youβre choosing to focus on. There is also a minor goddess of justice, Astraea, but I think itβs good to have the major gods claimed first. Zeus is definitely a fun choice, and Leo, Chaos and I were making a lot of jokes about how the Zeus and Hera champions would get on.
Yeah that all sounds great to me! We love ourselves some character development here.
No problem! Let me know if you have any more questions)

(Yeah our thoughts were that at least at first they wonβt get on cos, yβknow, Zeus and Hera. But in the end they probably will. There are a lot of other combinations of deities who donβt get on as well which will be fun to explore.
Awesome! Take as much time as you need)

Penny is a rather impulsive and volatile individual. Sheβs easily angered by the littlest things and it takes a lot to calm her back down in most situations. She is oftentimes shown to have a superiority complex, where she believes that sheβs the greatest and the strongest in the room, which is why she despises being looked down upon and belittled like sheβs a child. One of her most noticeable features is her hatred of adults, which came around because of her past as a child star in TV and Movies. The only thing more terrifying than Pennyβs anger is her proficiency with her powers. As the Champion of Geb, she is able to manipulate the ground itself in any way she desires. She can tear apart the ground underneath a person and terraform it to annihilate her enemies. She has even, on occasion, used the earth itself to create a golem around herself so she can personally stomp out anyone who annoys her. However, she only seems capable of using her powers if sheβs connected to the earth itself. Being removed from it causes her powers to stop working. Along with her control over the earth, she also seems to have some control over snakes as well. However, the extent of this is currently unknown. Ooh okay so I can check the formatting for you if you want? Like test the code and make sure it all works? Iβm sure it does
Let me read your forms as well Iβm sure theyβre great but Iβll just check them out!)

(Okay so of course πππππ π¨ gets the final say but Irene, Pascal and Theo all look great to me! I love the idea of Theoβs powers being unknown even to him, thatβs a very nice touch. I think itβll be very amusing to see Pascal interact with some of our more.. excitable and chaotic champions. Like Laurie, my Dionysus party boy, is about to be a terrible influence on Pascal. Also Iβm glad you made Pascal 22 because without him Laurie was gonna be the oldest one and nobody wants Laurie to be responsible for anyone or anything
The coding looks fine to me! It all works. The only thing is that you forgot to add Balderβs name to the Champion of [Deity] but at the top but other than that youβre good to go!)

(Yeah, i was having trouble thinking of a power to fit Balder, but since Theo is so unlike the god, it would make sense for him to have to work so he'd actually fit into the roll assigned to him) (Oh yeah, def. Pascal needs friendos to push him out of his comfort zone after all ^^ and I made him 22 because it would make sense for him to be out on his own for a bit. Rip the oldest people having to be responsible for all the children XD)
(I figured I forgot something lol, I'll fix that right away. I mistakingly took out the face claims but I'll try to put them back in) (Edit: Alright, I think I fixed it. Face claims are hopefully in there and Champion of Balder is typed in. Thanks for the help ^^)

Yeah that completely makes sense. I like Theo and where youβre going with him he seems interesting
Oh if you want pushing outside your comfort zone, Laurie is your freaking guy. Heβs your party dude, because Dionysus, obviously. But yeah him being the oldest would have been an actual disaster so thank you for saving this group cos they all would have died if Laurie had been the oldest or held any kind of responsibility.
Okay but donβt worry thereβs no rush at all! We all forget stuff youβre fine )

( Nariku The Avaricious : They look Fine to me! Welcome to the RP, by the way! As for the whole Maβat thing, my apologies about that, Iβm a bit of a night owl, and I stayed up quite late to try and get as much done as possible for this RP, and I forgot to update the mythology list include the Guide of my newest character. Also, I find it hilarious that Pascal and Laurie are the eldest thus far. Poor guys! These children are going to be a handful! Also, @/everyone: As the RP progresses, feel free to update your forms with newer powers, new roles, and other such. Just let me know when you update them!)

(Yeah, he has a lot of room for development XD and thanks) (Laurie: "Hey guys, it's party time " Pascal: "It's 3 am, no" Laurie: "Party TIME BD") (Cool ^^) (And don't worry about it lol, I was early enough in developing that I could easily change it)

(Iβll get starters up soon, and Iβll also update the page as well. As for any writings or fan art or anything like that, feel free to also post those here and tag then, the introduction will change every so often to feature writings and such, and Iβll probably have another post dedicated to memorable things, writings, and artwork.
Iβve been a bit busy this morning, but Iβm pretty much done! At least, I hope so anyways.)
